Strange output from jrcmd print_memusage (R28)

Hi guys,
my jrcmd print_memusage tells me that my my heap is exactly the same size as my 'Compiled code' memory space:
Total mapped 3709432KB (reserved=1053884KB)
- Java heap 1048576KB (reserved=0KB)
- GC tables 35084KB
- Thread stacks 46848KB (#threads=162)
- Compiled code 1048576KB (used=50879KB)
- Internal 904KB
- OS 64836KB
- Other 641440KB
- Classblocks 47616KB (malloced=47354KB #116850)
- Java class data 772096KB (malloced=772015KB #557889 in 116850 classes)
- Native memory tracking 3456KB (malloced=1451KB #10)
This seems very weird to me, why would these 2 things be exactly the same?

seems like a large amount of memory for compiled code but thanks for the response. Good to know the result is a sane one.

  • Strange Output From CS3 to Fiery printers

    When we output from Indesign CS3 we get a couple of strange issues to our fiery and one new issue just started with our Harlequin RIP.
    When printing a multi page document to the Fiery's (5 Different ones) sometimes page 1 will be oriented correctly and all of the other pages will be rotated on the sheet and cut off. Also when I go to make changes through command workstation to change duplex settings, image shift etc. It's a crapshoot if it will work on Indesign files. This has been happening with all iterations of Leopard.
    When printing to the Harlequin using a preset envelope template the file is oriented wrong. It doesn't matter if we put the sizes in manually or how we set the orientation in the print window it's wrong. This has been happening for a few weeks.
    Curretly we are on 10.5.5

    Sorry I wasn't clear. The rips are the print servers. They are hooked to a variety of printers Xerox, Konica, Canon and Presstek. The problem is when I send the file and preview it at the RIP. The problems are also there when I output the files from the Rip to the printers.
    The Fiery Problem is ocuring on several different Fiery RIPS each connected to it's own printer. We only have on Harlequin RIP and Device so I'm not sure how widespread it is. The problems do not exist if I send PDF's or other native files such as quark.

  • Strange output from prtdiag

    I inserted the 2nd CPU into the E250 and turned on the system. Upon the banner shown, I did Stop-A and type in 'boot -r' at the ok> prompt. It continued and eventually gave me the login prompt. Once I logged in and did prtdiag, I get conflict information as to how many CPUs are running: the first line says there are two while the CPUs section shows only one. Did I do something wrong?
    Below the the output.
    Thanks!
    # ./prtdiag -v

    Also, there should be more to that after the CPU, did you truncate that output?

  • Strange output from permissions repair

    This not so much a problem but a question. When I did a routine permissions repair, I got the following message:

    I have never seen a message that is headed, "Warning," and I don't know what it all means nor what to do about it if action is required.
    Anyone know what this all means?
    Thanks!

    Well, you are right. Using the link you provided, the warning lines went away. I wonder how you knew to use that update other than the other? It took just short of 10 hours to do that download - more actually, but I didn't count the number of times I had to restart the download due to losing carrier during the download.
    Apple is killing me with these enormous downloads. I live in a rural area, too far away from the road to use cable, so no broadband. The population density isn't there for Verizon or other carriers to make DSL available. I could use a satellite service but it is just way too expensive both with the monthly subscription price and with the investment in hardware needed. 109 megs to make this problem go away. Just not right. I think Apple forgets that many people do not have a high speed connections.
    Anyway, thanks again.

    Hi,
    We have a Sun V480 running Solaris 8. We have installed 2 SG-XPCI2FC-QF2 fibercards. They are connected to an EVA3000 system. SFS newest version are also installed.
    Have configured the cards with the cfgadm command. But when i run a format command i get this output. Normally it will show somthing like this c1t0d1. But here it shows c11t50001FE15005F54Dd1

    Can anyone explain this? I was possible to format the disk. But are this OK?
    Thanks,

    Rather than having disk target numbers, format now see's the disks WWN or World Wide Number. If you look at your output, disk 0 and disk 1 have the standard c1t0d0 and c1t1d0 identifiers, but the targets on controller 11 and 12 show the WWN for the LUNs/disks on the EVA3000. This is to help with multipathing etc. Yes it is on to slice the LUNs/disks.

  • Strange output from lm_sensors with HP Compaq 6510b

    I'm having troubles understanding what my CPU temperature is when using lm_sensors on my HP Compaq 6510b.
    $ sensors

    temp3: +50.0°C (crit = +110.0°C)
    temp4: +50.0°C (crit = +256.0°C)
    temp5: +49.0°C (crit = +108.0°C)
    coretemp-isa-0000
    Adapter: ISA adapter
    Core 0: +51.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    coretemp-isa-0001
    Adapter: ISA adapter
    Core 1: +51.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    This is not the usual output that everyone else seems to get. I'm guessing Core 0 and Core 1 are the CPU temperatures? But why does the wiki say that I should expect some other format? And why don't I get that type of output?

    Rather than having disk target numbers, format now see's the disks WWN or World Wide Number. • Strange output from my java file

    Hi all,
    I made a post not long too long ago about some issues i was having. However since then i have not been able to come online or continue much with my work. I've just starting working on it again and after fixing the errors and implementing a little more code i had an unexpected output.
    Compiles fine, no errors Just a warning about not checking my vectors etc. But when i run the class file it does not display the grid like i thought it would.
    My code is below, but first is what i get when i run the class file after compiling.
    [[I@1fc4bec

                                                    boardGrid[row][col] = BLANK;
                   System.out.println(boardGrid);
    }

    When you want to print an array then you can't just do
    System.out.println(someArray);This implicitly calls .toString() on the array which produces the result that you saw (= something that isn't very useful).
    You could write
    System.out.println(Arrays.deepToString(someArray));(after inporting java.util.Arrays).

  • GUI locks up when trying to read output from server

    I have a client built in MVC fashion and have two GUI views. One view is for output from the server and input from the keyboard. The other view is for changing connection settings and starting the conection. The problem is when I make the call to connect from the connection GUI it is able to connect and set up the streams but both GUIs lock up once I start trying to output the text received from the server. The strange thing is that when I call these methods just from the Model and not via the GUI and its actionListener the whole thing works. I think it may have something to do with the loop locking up the GUI but don't how to resolve this.
    public void monitorServer()
    try
    char inputChar = (char)fromServer.read();
    while (socket.isConnected()==true && inputChar >-1 )
    inputChar = (char)fromServer.read();
    if ( ( (inputChar >= '0') && (inputChar <= 'z') )
    ||(inputChar == '\n')||(inputChar == '\r')
    ||(inputChar == ' ') )
    String tempString = (""+inputChar);
    mv.addText(tempString);
    catch(IOException ioException)
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,
    "Error: Failed to read message. Corrupt data sent by server",
    "Connection Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
    mv.addText("\nMessage not read.\n");
    The code above is the bot that screws it all up. mv is the other view that it is outputting the text to.
    Please help! I'm gonna fail my degree. :)

    you need to run your server connection part in another thread.

  • Video output from ATV is "blurry"

    Here's a strange one. I have an ATV connected to a Sony Bravia W series 1080p TV via component video .
    The output from my ATV is "blurry" on the screen, but otherwise functions fine.
    When I power off the ATV and back on (remove the power cord), the picture is fine, until it goes into sleep mode, then the next time it wakes up the picture is blurry again...
    I am at a loss what to do (it wasnt doing this via the HDMI connection to the TV - unfortunately though I have run out of HDMI connections to the TV).
    cheers
    steve

    Hi Winston, thanks for the reply.
    I'm currently running 720p resolution, but this issue occurs no matter what resolution I set the ATV to.
    I'm sure it's not a protected content issue because it does work fine on all my content at times...then at other times I experience the bluriiness on the same content.
    When the blurrines occurs, it's not just the content but all of the ATV menu's themselves have the same issue.
    cheers
    steve

  • No sound output from dock connector or headphones but speaker is fine

    I've got a 3GS which I've had since October.
    Recently, there has been no sound output from the headphone socket - or rather, what does come out is very strange, sounding almost electronically distorted.
    I thought that maybe the headphone jack was broken, but now I've found out that the same thing can be heard through a dock when the iPod is connected this way.
    I'm fairly sure the dock connector is still fine as the phone charges and can be controlled by the dock etc
    Most of the discussions I've found relate to sound not coming from the speaker on the phone, but this is absolutely fine.
    Any ideas?

    Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Have you tried resetting the PMU?
    I'm not optimistic that this will help any more than the procedures you've already tried, but it won't hurt to try.
    Do you still have your OS 9 installation? If so, try booting into OS 9 and see if the problems with the audio are happening there, too. If so, you can bet it's a hardware problem.
    How big is your hard drive and how much space remains available on it? If you don't have your OS 9 installation in order to check out whether it's a hardware problem and you have enough available hard drive space, you may want to try an Archive and Install of the OS in order to make sure it isn't an OS X system-wide problem. If that doesn't do it, you could back up your hard drive and restore your software.
    All of this may just be spinning your wheels, but it's all stuff you can try before shelling out a lot of money for repairs.

  • Stange output from Xorg 'startx'

    These don't feel like "real" error messages, there's no (EE) output on the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file... But this output from calling the startx command to start Xorg, is really strange, I never had something like this ever happening from the many times I've installed Xorg.
    I'm running Arch on VMware Workstation by the way...
    Any ideas how to fix some of these problems?

    Not sure if this will help as I don't run gnome, but after a recent update when I ran startx I was getting a bunch of those doodad errors myself.  After going through http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=56072 and disabling numlockx in my xinitrc I had no more errors.

  • Funky output from SQLCMD.EXE /L

    I have a Clustered environment - both nodes with SQL 2012 on Windows 2012 Server.
    On the Passive node, SQLCMD.EXE /L lists the found servers as expected, e.g.,
    Servers:
        MYCLUSTER1\CLUSTER
    However on the Active node, it gives some strange output, i.e.,
    Servers:
        ;UID:Login ID=?;PWD:Password=?;Trusted_Connection:Use Integrated Security=?;
    *APP:AppName=?;*WSID:WorkStation ID=?;
    Anyone know what this means?
    Does this mean my cluster configuration and/or registry is messed up?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
    As I understand, the "SQLCMD -L" worked well in first node in a cluster, but it didn't work as expected when was working in second node(whether it is active or passive). If I have misunderstood, please don't hesitate to let me know.
    Basically, the command "sqlcmd -L" works as follows:
    SQLCMD utilize component SQLBrowserConnect to broadcast an UDP request via port 1434 on the network(within in the same router)
    Machines, which are on the same network, receive the request
    The machines, which have SQL Server installed, SQL Server Service(s) is(are) running and SQL Server Browser service enabled, response the request via port 1434 within 3 seconds. Here is an example for the response data:
    ServerName <computer1 for example>
    InstanceName <MSSQLSERVER for example>
    IsClustered <Yes, or No>
    Version <11.0.3000.0 for example>
    tcp <1433 for example>
    SQLBrowserConnect receives the response and output the connection string like: "HOST:Server={red,blue,green};UID:ID=?;PWD:Password=?"
    SQLCMD exact the server(s) from the connecting string
    So, in one of the following cases, there won't have server(s) to be listed:
    UDP 1434 is blocked by Firewall
    SQL Server service(s) is(are) not running
    SQL Server Browser service is not running
    Due to network latency, SQLBrowserConnect response after 3 seconds later
    Network infrastructure components, particular router limit the broadcast request
    In this case, if we are running in the following scenario, we will get the result as you posted:
    The UDP 1434 is not enabled(or is blocked) in all nodes
    The SQL Server Browser service is only running in the first node
    The port 1434 is being used by other application. We can this by command netstat -ano, or use tool PortQuery to confirm it
    Note:
    1. Since there is a loopback address in every machine, the SQLCMD can get expected result whether the port is blocked by the firewall or not.
    2. If there is no server in the outputConnectionString(between {}), the output string for sqlcmd will be something like this: ;UID:Login ID=?;PWD:Password=?;Trusted_Connection:Use Integrated Security=?;*APP:AppName=?;*WSID:WorkStation ID=?
    Here you will find more details about the SQLBrowserConnect function :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms714565 (v = vs.85 ) aspx .
    We can also use the PortQryUI to check whether port 1434 is opened:

  • Discoverer report - Output from Discoverer plus is not the same as Discoverer desktop

    As a part of Upgrade project we are migrating the discoverer reports from 11i (11.5.10.2) to R12 (12.1.3) .After migrating to R12, for a custom discoverer report the output given by discoverer desktop is correct (24 rows for a scenario). But the report output from Discoverer plus does not show the credit transactions (2 rows). The output from Discoverer plus shows only 22 rows (24 - 2), which is incorrect. The query is the same in Discoverer desktop and Discoverer plus.
    Please let me know why these transactions that are appearing when the report is run from discoverer desktop are not appearing in discoverer plus. Is there any setup in discoverer plus for this?
    Regards,
    Brajesh

    Pretty hard to answer a question like this.  Best bet would be to copy the existing discoverer plus book and start removing conditions, fields, etc until those two rows from desktop show up and see if you can work it out.

  • Unable to output from FCP to Canon XL1.

    I have an eMac with Final Cut Pro 4.5 HD. I also have a Canon XL1 3 CCD camcorder.
    I have no problem capturing footage from my camcorder to my eMac on FCP. I can also connect my Canon to my VCR and record off my camcorder to my TV, as well as play the tape on my camcorder to watch it on TV.
    However, I cannot output from FCP to my camcorder. The 4 to 6 FireWire is attached to both the camera and the eMac and I checked the Log and Capture feature and FCP does recognize a camera or deck is attached. I've been trying to output it using manual record in which I press record on my camcorder and play the playhead on FCP. As I record, there is no picture on my viewfinder, nor any audio being recorded and when I play it back, I just get this blank blue screen, but the timecode is recorded.
    Am I missing something here?

    ensure the following are set
    View>Video Playback>Firewire Apple 720x480 (NTSC or PAL - whatever is appropriate)
    View>Audio Playback>Audio follows video
    View>External Video>All Frames
    If this isn't what you are set to do, you won't be sending video out to your recorder.

  • How to Generate CSV Output from JD Edwards BI Publisher

    Hi All,
    I have a report "Critical Date Report" - R15611 in JD Edwards 8.11. This report has to be generated as CSV output from BI Publisher which is embedded to JDE.
    The purpose we want use BI Publisher is to move some of the data displaying to different place in the page(ex: Move the company address from top left corner to Bottom right corner).
    In order to achieve this
    1.We created blank rtf template and upload to XML repository using P95600 application
    2.Create report definition using P95620 application
    3.Here I see the available output types as PDF,RTF,HTML,EXCEL,POWERPOINT and XML,ETEXT(GRAYED OUT)
    Which output type we can use for CSV ?
    4.Execute the report definition of the critical date report from P95620 to get the XML source
    5.This XML source will be loaded into the blank rtf template
    6.From this point no idea how to design the rtf template in order to get the CSV output.
    7.We did design and output type as excel - but the result data is not in good formatting and alignment*(Headers and footers are repeating).*
    If any one has worked on similar type of requirement,let us know how to do or send a sample XML source,rtf template and how the CSV output will be. Or any document link present in Oracle site will be helpful. Please let me know if you need more details.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    For CSV output, you need an E-text template (not RTF) that's why its grayed out! You can use Excel as output type and have (No headers and footers) , then you can open the file in Excel and store it as CSV. Does not always display correctly though.
    Why are you compelled to use BI publisher? you can use the JDE standard csv output report, (as is used by most EDI systems) of course this may involve a bit of customization if you wants the fields arranged differently.
