Strange request: Dial-up

Does anyone still have a dial-up connection (or a really really slow internet connection)? My boss wants to see how fast/slow our new website will load on a computer with really slow internet like dial-up... and I don't know anyone who has it. If anyone out there has dial-up, please check out our testing website: www.stateline7.com/dreamweaver . I just want to know if the images load too slowly.

Strange request from an e-mail for login details?!

I received an e-mail today from [email protected] and when I click on the message a dialogue box pops-up asking for a user login and passsword...
"To view this page, you need to log in to area “mail.avensc.com” on mail.avensc.com:80."
It is then stuck in a loop when cancel is selected. Anyone come across this kind of thing before? What is it? The sender says she has no idea???

Clicking on cancel 22 times clears the dialogue box requesting the log-in.
I have just noticed that there are 22 photos attached to the e-mail we sent to her. The picture attachments are attached again to her reply (why does this happen when some people reply to messages with attachments, I thought although the text is usually attached to replies, the pictures shouldn't come back, waste of time and bandwidth?).
So could it be that something malicious has attached itself to the pictures that came back with her e-mail?
The e-mail we originally received with the attachments doesn't seem to have a problem.

I have a somewhat strange request for anyone who can help. A300-146.

A friend of mine gave me this satellite A300-146 laptop about a year ago, and I want to fix it up so I can use it. The trouble is, this is not a US model, and the motherboard is bad. It turns on, everything spins up (except the HDD, that was dead) but no video. I've had the same situation with desktops and it was invariably a dead mobo. So my question is this. Are there any other a series mobos that will work in this thing? I've tried google searching for the same model type mobo, but no dice, not even from overseas retailers and wholesalers.

Mp3 **to** wma (Yes, strange request)

Does anyone know of a free ware tool that would convert an mp3 file into wma format?
I'm about to get a new Verizion phone that plays music, but only wma's.
Believe me, I'm not happy about this, but it seems that Verizion is not going to play friendly with non-Windows anytime soon. I've been googling but nothing has turned up so far. Thought I'd ask the experts. Thanks.

Strange request: varchar2 as multiple rows..

I have a varchar2 field with a delimiter and want the output in multiple records based on the delimiter.

Strange request for file deletion

When I have to delete a file in my documents folder (and only in that folder) finder asks me my admin password. I checked my permissions and they are RW (so it seems to me everything's allright); I tried even to click on "apply to all included elements" (sorry for my translation: I'm italian ) but no change happened.

Are the files you're deleting in your home folder? If so, can you move them to the Desktop and back without being prompted for a password?

OLD deleted PSA request is being fetched by DTP in load-Very strange

Hello Friends,
One week before one delta request was loaded to PSA which was not updated to Target.
Because of some reason Later we had to delete the INIT after removing all the requests from PSA .tHEN we did init again (for some reason).Then II loaded first delta to PSA.wHEN NOW I am trying to load data from PSA TO CUBE,it is picking up old delta request also which is currently also not available in PSA.This is really strange.
request is not there in PSA but being extracted by DTP ??
Any idea ,why it has happened?
I have thought of a solution for it ..to make the previous delta request RED in infopackage monitor ...then to load the DTP again...But why it;s happening?
Is it SAp bug or I am missing anything here??

Infact I had checked PSA and then INIT was refreshed.Still how delta request related to previous delta INIT is coming??clueless???
I had checked already with changing the date in PSA.....no old request is available.it is empty ...
And Ajeet,
It is easily visible in DTP monitor to see the request being extracted in load from PSA.
Any other Idea...we are at SP-17.

Really like my Lumia 800 on the whole, however:
1 It would be nice if the player remembered the last position of a podcast. If that’s not possible could it be made possible to scroll to a position in a podcast rather keeping fingers on next or previous track keys
2. The call/voice command option on the inline remote is unavailable once you have started using the music player. I had to reboot the phone to be able to use it to voice dial.
3. When on vibrate and using the music player with earphones the player didn’t pause on an incoming call. It would be nice if on vibrate you still had some audible alert (only when earphones are connected and played through earphones etc..) when you have an incoming call.
4. Brings me nicely to notification volume when earphones attached. Way too loud.

1. It would be yes, but this is the way Microsoft have designed it, this can be requested at the link above.
2. The remotes still works, hold the button down for a couple of seconds and it will go into voice activation mode.
3. This is a bit of a strange request, you want vibrate only and an audio alert at the same time? Why not just leave the ringer on, note that you can add custom ringtones so you can make it make whatever sound you like.
4. This is a known bug with the latest update, hopefully Nokia is working on it and will fix it in a future update.

Odd request

I know this is a strange request...
I would like to have the ability to "mirror" an arbitrary subsection of of a JComponent "original" on another JComponent "mirror".
So the original may have nested layouts, widgets, images, etc. I could choose a subsection
new Mirror(JComponent original, int x, int y, int width, int height)All events on the mirror would be translated and sent to the original. All visual changes on the original would update the mirror.
I don't expect anyone to provide a full solution. Just some pointers.
My first question is: where is the best place to intercept UI events to the mirror to send them to the original?
I could add ActionListeners to the mirror, or (for keyevents) I could use KeyboardFocusManager.getCurrentKeyboardFocusManager().addKeyEventDispatcher(...);
or perhaps best is to use Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().addAWTEventListener(...);
Finally, the trickiest part is how do I know if the original, or one of it's children is painting itself? Do I have to add hooks in all the paint(g) methods to inform the mirror when painting has taken place?

I would try to write a "wrapper class"

which will redirect every method, except those related to coordinates into source object. Then, as I assume, it should be enough to wrap with it your JInternalFrame instance or whatever container you want to mirror and add it to target container. This may work or may not work, but it is much less job to try it that in your's approach.

Video broadcast with bridge and pvdm3

Any way to do a Video broadcast with a 4520 bridge and a 2911 with pvdm3..
We want the bridge to dial out to all locations. If the 9971 video phones dial in to a 2911 conf using pvdm3's is there a way to get the bridge to dial out to that conf?

I'm hoping that I am missing something because this seems like a strange request. Are you saying that you want a 4520 MCU to outdial to a preset group of endpoints when a completely separate PVDM3-based ad-hoc conference is started? The answer to this would be no.
What may be possible would be to join the H323 ID/E164 ID of the 4520 conference to the PVDM3-based ad-hoc conference by calling it and using the Join button on the Cisco phone. If that worked, the obvious downside would be that you have a cascaded conference across two MCUs. Each MCU would make its own active speaker decisions and feed only that output to the other bridge.

Action Class

My doubt is regarding the Action Class, now sun realesed the JSF1.0, and still do we have to return the Action class with the invoke() method (as in your example) from the action class?? or can we write a simple method in the bean class as follows

How to relink media in CS6

When I first open a project in PrPro it asks a strange request to relink media. No files have been moved and all my media is on one hard drive. I understand how to relink media but this is strange. It asks "Where is the File "V1-etc, etc, etc? I've never labeled a clip V1.
Could this be pertaining to the V1 video track?
Could this have happened if I updated PrPro, not thinking, with a Premiere Pro CC update on my CS6 program and this is causing the problem?
I have a timeline in PrPro that was worked on in Resolve. In the timeline it shows all my clips offline. But, in my bins, the clip that is shown offline in the timeline is ONLine in my bin.
How can I relink the media to get it to show correctly in the timeline.
I have a suspension this is a result of updating something I should not have updated.

It seems PrPro created a bin as well. There's no way I'm creating a bin labeled like this. The one clip that you see is relinked was from me highlighting all the off line clips, choosing that clip to relink in the hopes that all would come online. This labeling doesn't make sense. I did have archived timelines labeled The Broken 527, but other than that nothing more.

(re)pushing and removing network printers deployed through GP

We're deploying our printers through Print Management, "Deploy with Group Policy" per user.
All seems to be working pretty well, but I have a few questions:
1. How can a client remove the printers that were pushed? I've tried a batch script that does the following:
net stop spooler
REG DELETE HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Connections\,,NTCW9,A0_HP4015_BW /f
net start spooler
Although messy, it works, but I wonder if there's a different approach?
Our AD is built in a way that all users from an office belong to the same OU, so changing the GPO settings is not an option. Allowing users to remove GP pushed printers only occurs very rarely, so no elaborate change should be required.
2. If the above script runs, I notice that the printers are not pushed again to the client. I've tried this with two users. Is there a way to export the pushed printers to something the user can run locally? (script or anything)

First of all this is a strange request since you are asking how to manually undo a group policy setting that you are purposefully deploying to the end user. But anyway, if I were tasked with this dilemma and I had users that just couldn't bear
to be mapped to a printer they don't want to use I would just change the policy so it doesn't apply to all "Authenticated Users" and use group membership instead. By the way, is this a technical issue you are trying to solve, or are your end
users complaining cause they have too many printers in their printer selection menu?

How can you create a paragraph style that removes all spaces and forces everything to lower case?

Is there anyway of using GREP (or some other magical wizardry) to create a paragraph style that automatically removes all spaces and forces words into lower case?

so doing it through InDesign is a work around I'm exploring.
Excel has the 'LOWER' function and the ability to record macros for a quick find/replace on the spaces - so that's definitely a good option if it can't be solved purely in InDesign.
You can change case via scripting in InDesign. This AppleScript (OSX only) will set the case of the selected paragraph style to lower. It would be possible to add some code that would strip spaces as well:
