Subsequent updating of data into to sales LIS?
Dear all,
Normally we configure the LIS updage group assignment with t-code OVRO, afterwards the data will be updated to the sales LIS when we create sales orders, billings.
Problem:
We have already some documents created before the update group assignment in t-code OVRO. How to get these OLD documents also updated into the sales LIS? Is there any standrad program or transaction we can use?

To get the historical data proceed as below
Go to SPRO->Logistics general>logistics information system>lo data warehouse> data basis>tools>set up of statistical data>Application-Specific Setup of Statistical Data>Perform setup-production-
Depending on the infrastructure you want to target - what you have created
enter the inforstructure and test version &(0 and other data like plant ....
enter the test run and give a name in the name of run and run the transaction
If there is no error then goto mcph
menu path
goto--> user settings
enter your sap id and enter
click on parameters
check the box - version selectable
and save.
Come back and select the version &(0 and analyse. if okay repeat the steps to get the data in 000 version)
You can delete the varsion &(0 in the same transaction in img, select
Setup: Copy/Delete Versions
enter the info structure and click on delete, enter &(0 and execute)
Please try this and come back.

I need to write data into the sales text of a SALES ORDER. My problem is that if i use SAVE_TEXT it writes the new text and erases the old text.Is there any function module to append the data into the sales text or any setting in the function module which allows me to do so.

I prefer to use LSMW here.You can achieve it by using batch recording option here.
Do a recording for the XK02 tcode with all mandatory required fields filled and create a sample file and upload.I t is higly ecomnomical in your case than a BDC upload.

if you are using OO ALV, you should enable the 'SAVE' button in the main toolbar. if the user press the save button, then you should upload the data to the custom table.

If I run the program it want to store the data into excel sheet(first few lines) , if i run the program again I want to store the next result in the same excel sheet after that data(first time data).
is it any solution available to store the data in the same excel sheet again again in different row of that excel sheet.

I am not sure which FM u r using for downloading. The FM GUI_DOWNLOAD will work for your requirement. Set the parameter Append to value 'A'. Every time it will append the data to ur file.

How to reprocess delta records during subsequent update of data targets
Hi,
I have an ODS which sends in delta records to a cube above it. Now there is a data load, happening monthy from a flat file, which was successful upto the ODS, but failed in the cube due to one invalid record. How do I reprocess this data load after correction of the invalid records in the source flat file?
The method I currently follow is to delete the failed request from the cube and then do a selective delete of records from the ODS and then reload the last data after correction.
Is there a better way to just reprocess the last load from the flat file?

Thanks for the response. I will explain a bit more in detail. Suppose there are 5 records coming in from the flat file - now 4 of those records are correct and one has invalid data.
All 5 records get loaded to the ODS successfully but in the cube we have a function module which works on the data and aborts the entire data package if it finds even one invalid record. So nothing gets loaded into the cube at all.
Now if we correct the one invalid record and then reload into the ODS - it will just send this corrected record over to the cube and we will miss out on the other 4 records which were originally correct since the ODS does not detect them as changed.
If we delete the request from the ODS (rather than doing the selective delete) then it disables the delta in the ODS asnd we have to reinitialise everything - which we cannot afford to do in a production environment.
Hope the problem is a bit more clear now.
I was looking for some way to just resend all the five records - with the one corrected record to the cube without going through this selective delete process sinc eits too cumbersome and we run the risk of messing up with actual data ina production environment.

How to update\insert data into a NVARCHAR column using ODBC API
I am trying to update a Sybase table via Microsofts ODBC API. The following is the basics of the C++ I am trying to execute. In table, TableNameXXX, ColumnNameXXX has a type of NVARCHAR( 200 ).

The Sybase database has a CatalogCollation of 1252LATIN1, CharSet of windows-1252, Collation of 1252LATIN1, NcharCharSet of UTF-8 and an NcharCollation of UCA.
Once this works for the Sybase ODBC connection I need to get it to work in various other ODBC drivers for other databases.
The error i get is "[Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Syntax error near 'Executive Chair ' on line 1"
If i take out the Unicode characters and remove the N it will update.
Does anyone know how to get this to work? What am I missing?
I wrote a C# .net project using an ODBCConnection to a SQL Server database and am getting "sort of" the same error. I means sort of as this error contains the Unicode Text in the message whereas the Sybase ODBC error has "lost" the unicode.

And be aware that Sybase does not use the same tsql dialect as sql server, so you must use their dialect (if, indeed, there is any difference in this particular situation).
One note - there should be no space between "N" and the Unicode string literal to which it applies in tsql. E.g.,

I have error in updating data from my 2 ODS to Mu infoCube.
I get this error :
10 records sent (0 received)
Any one have some idea why it doesn't work.I have 2 ODS, I need to update my infocube with these 2 ODS.
on the ods context Menu : Update ODS data into Target ...
I get a Yellow Icon on the monitor.
on the details tab under Extraction, I get a yellow warning :
it says : 10 records sent (0 records received)
I'll check out the updates rules between ODS and my Cube.

Error when adding data into ODS
I have created a SS->Info area->Infoobject catalog->Info objects->Application component->Info source->ODS->Info cube.This is how i have created my structure.And i have created the appropriate transfer rules and update rules.And am choosing automatic update of data into the info cube.Say i have a set of 10 transactional data which i am loading and i have choosen initialize delta process and initilization with data transfer in the update and i have loaded the data.I get the correct resulting my 10 datas in the infocube but when i am trying to add 5 more data along with this 10 and loading it in i am not getting the result it shows some error and i have choosen delta process in the update before loading..can some one tell me why i get a error.

did you make settings in the "ODS Activate ODS data"?. if this was not done then then you have to activate manually then system will update data to cube automatically.
So you missed the settings for activation.

Question: using links in report to copy data into form for update

With alot of help I have managed to get the first 3 column fields across by editing the report link, under report attributes -> column link. The values of Item 1 to Item 3 work fine, but how do i get the rest of the info in the other 5 columns across??

1: create your items on the page, including the PK

You need to consider how to handle new rows, optimistic locking and a few other things.
I would suggest that you have a look at the existing form wizard that does all this for you. We can then work around any "limitations" you find.

Hav you integrated your system with BW system.
If yess then you need to upload all previous sales information from CRM system to BW system.
Secondly, copy all the CRM sales order data residing in an infocube to be replicated to a sales planning sales order infocube of SEM.
This is what is meant by Loading historic sales data into SEM.
To do this you would require a SEM/BW consultant.
You can use a funtion name 'COPY' in BPS-SEM to copy one sales infocube to other.

Recently, I had a requirement to download the report data into a direct update DSO using an APD. I was able to perform this easily when the report was simple i.e it has few rows and columns. But I faced problems If the report is a complex one. Summing up, I would like to know how to handle the scenarios in each of the following cases:
1. How should I decide the key fields and data fields of the direct update DSO ? Is it that the elements in ROWS will go to the
key fields of DSO and the remaining to the data fields? Correct me.
2. What if the report contains the Restricted KFs and Calculated KFs? Do I have to create separate infoobjects in the BI
system and then include these in the DSO data fields to accommodate the extracted data ?
3. How do I handle the Free Characteristics and Filters ?
4. Moreover, I observed that if the report contains selection screen variables, then I need to create variants in the report and
use that variant in the APD. So, if I have 10 sets of users executing the same report with different selection conditions, then
shall I need to create 10 different variants and pass those into 10 different APDs, all created for the same report ?
I would appreciate if someone can answer my questions clearly.

--- Yes , you can use the elements in the ROWS in the Key fields, but in case you get two records with same value in the ROWS element the data load will fail. So you basically need to have one value that would be different for each record.

Yes you would need to create new Infoobjects for the CKF's and RKF's in the Report and include them in your DSO.

The default filters work in the same way as when you yourself execute the reoprt. But you cannot use the Free characterisitics in the APD. only the ROWS and cloumns element which are in default layout can be used.

--- Yes you would need to create 10 different APD's. Its very simple to create, you can copy an APD. but it would be for sure a maintance issue. you would have to maintain 10 APD's.
