Subtitles move out of sync

Hi. I´m using final cut pro 7 and after making some simple editing corrections in my sequence, other subtitles further down the line become out of sync upon playback. They are in sync in the timeline, but when I play it back the subtitles start to appear before they are positioned in the actual timeline. This only happens after I make a change somewhere else in the timeline. Any clues as to why this is happening and how I can correct it? thank you very much

and are you editing with sources that are in fcp friendly formats into a sequence in an fcp friendly format?  Are all sources and the sequence the same frame rate?  If not, that could be the problem.

  • Subtitles go out of sync in Encore! Urgent!

    Hi everyone,
I've got a (big) problem with Encore. I want to add subtitles to a movie, around an hour and half lenght.
When I import them, they're first perfectly synchronised, but as time goes by, they get up to
5-6 seconds off. What should I do?
P.S. I've already did the colon stuff - : into ; (and reversed), changed subtitle
from 25 fps to 29.97 (and reversed) and tried to save subtitles from Lemony Subtitler,
as I read in one post. It all has the same result - the subtitles are always the same.
                                                                           Thanks in advance.

I tried both PAL and NTSC, thanks for trying to help me.
I can't believe I thought my subs were sync with the video and I watched only
for 10 min. Last night I watched the entire video on my comp
using media player classic and it turned out that the
subtitles were out of sync all the time, which means
that Encore is working perfectly, and that I'm an idiot
because I didn't check the entire video...

  • Audio moves out of sync or alignment with video after moving clip

I have a video clip with it's detached audio on the secondary timeline.  The audio has been broken apart so that I can edit each individual audio track.  But I still want to keep the audio linked and synced with the video.  When I select the audio and video and move the clip, the audio moves out of sync(by a frame or two), and isn't locked directly under the video the way it should be, or the way it was before I moved the clip.  I notice this when I zoom in really close and the audio tracks are a frame or two off.  In some cases, the audio tracks get increasingly out of sync the more I move the clip.  This shouldn't happen when I select everything together.  Has anyone ever experienced this or is there a solution to avoid the audio getting out of perfect alignment with the video?  Thanks

Yes, it would probably be best to just turn it into a compound clip.  I'm relatively new to FCP X, and I'm coming from FCP 7.  In FCP 7, I like being able to see both channels of audio under each clip.  So, what I do is adjust the audio levels for each channel separately.  I might add keyframes to one channel and leave the other channel alone.  In FCP X, it seems like the only way to edit or adjust the separate channels is by breaking apart the audio.  Then I can see both channels of audio and I can add key frames, etc.  So, I just need to be able to see and edit both audio channels, independently.

  • Why is my 1080p24 movie out of sync?

I mastered a video on final cut pro which was shot at 1080p24. I carried that format through to an exported final cut movie which plays fine in quicktime. When I place it into IDVD (no menu just play form start) it is out of sync. I looked for settings that might fix it but saw none. A friend told me he has done this before with no problem. I have never worked with 24 frame media before, and am at a loss. Does something need to be changed when I output from FCP so that I can burn a DVD in sync?

    Hi
why is my 1080p24 movie out of sync?
As I get it DVD-standard is either PAL (25fps) or NTSC (29.97fps)
24fps will result in "Out of Sync"
Convert Your material into PAL or NTSC via Compressor (best I know of) in Your
    FinalCut Studio bundle.

  • Exported movie out of sync

    Hi!
I have done a movie, about 3 min long, that looks allright on the timeline, but when playing back the exported movie file, the picture is delayed by some frames, maybe half a second. I'm hoping that someone recognizes the problem and can find a solution.
The video material is HD, avc1, progressive, 25 fps. But some of the files are mpg, some are MOV and some are MP4 (marked yellow on the timeline).
The sound on the mpg files is mpeg layer 2 , 384kbps.  The MOV files have PCM sound. The MP4 files have AAC mono sound.
By the way, the movie ends with the picture fading to white, but the exported movie ends a few frames too early , before the fade is completed. Could this be related to the problem?
The project setting I have been using is HDV, 1080p, 25fps. When exporting I chose H.264, full HD.

For the ending of the Timeline, while the Dip-to-White is still functioning, I would test by adding, say a 02 sec. Color Matte (set to white), after the Clip with Dip-to-White. Does that allow the Transition to complete?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Green pixels and out of sync movie on PAL

I put subtitles on an NTSC timeline and movie. I exported as NTSC. I went to Compressor and converted to PAL. The footage is out of sync and there are frames with green pixles and fill the whole screen.
I notice these green frames on the timeline and they were disappearing when ever I rendered the clip. They appear back on the PAL conversion, but not on the TSC export.
    Thanks for any info.

Did you ever get an answer on this?  I have the exact same problem.  Windows Vista, iTunes 10.5.3.3
Songs play great, videos are choppy and warble but they play fine on QuickTime.

  • How do I move a movie I have synced from iTunes into the "Movies" tab of the Video App? I need to access a slideshow I made in IMovies and may not have WiFi. I did it once, but can't figure out how to do it again! The file is an m4v. Thank you!

Im just guessing but it seems like you would have to get your movie into the correct folder on a computer then use iTunes to sync it to your iPad. If you've synced to a computer and have movies then on your computer should be a folder with the movie in it. You could export your iMovie to something like Dropbox then download from Dropbox to the folder you think it needs to be in the sync your iPad again. Again this is just a guess. Others may have a better answer.

  • Greyed-out movie file not syncing

I imported a short MP4 video file into iTunes 10 for Windows. (An old educational short from RiffTrax if you're interested) It appears in iTunes okay and plays fine, but when I attempt to sync my iPhone 4, the title for that video file is greyed out on the Movies page. I have iTunes set to sync unwatched movie files, and this method has always worked for me before: download the file, move it to my movies folder, drag it into iTunes, edit the tags, and sync the device. Any ideas?

The movie files are syncing again. It must've been something with the one that started it.

  • ITunes movies work fine, but when i put them on my iPad 2 they video is out of sync with the audio. Help me

Hi guys, I download lots of films, primirally through a program called Vuse. I then drag and drop the movie files from "All my files" on my mac into itunes and all this is fine. The movies will play briliantly and smothly, however when it comes to putting them onto my iPad 2 the audio becomes out of sync. I have tried restoring and then re installing everything but no luck.
Just wondering if anybody else has any problems and if/how they resolved it.

  • Front Row on Snow Leopard has audio out of sync on movies and TV shows and some movies wont show images.

I have an iMac Core Duo 2GHz (yes, first Intel iMac). I have Snow Leopard v10.6.8 (latest/last MacOS version I could load) with the most recent Security Update (2013-003).
I have two issues with Front Row:
    • Some of the movie files will not show the images, but I can hear the audio.
    • On other movies and TV shows they start fine, but within a few minutes the audio is out of sync with the images, running about 3-5 seconds ahead... Looks like a bad dub of a Japanese movie from the 60s.
Now, I know it's related to Front Row, because when I jump over to iTunes and start the same movie or TV show it begins where I left off in Front Row, but images are fine and audio is suddenly in-sync.
However, with Snow Leopard being 2 major upgrades back - 3 if you count the upcoming Mavericks release - I doubt this registers as a "brouhaha" on Apple's radar screens. Then, again, maybe the spirit of Steve won't tolerate this Microsoft-like quirk, even if my iMac is still chugging along after 7 years and multiple MacOS X upgrades & updates...

I think I found my answer... or culprit. It has to do with Snow Leopard, and my iMac Core Duo, being the last of the dying breed of 32-bit systems, and that iTunes v11.x is 64-bit (heavily, at least)...
Guess I need to break down and replace my 7 year old iMac, even though it still works beautifully (otherwise).
