Sun Compliers and the Community Atmosphere Model (CAM 3.1)

I am attempting to compile and run NCAR's CAM3.1, a global climate model, using the Sun compilers for Linux (we are testing our options for running our models in Linux). At the moment I am using a Sun Ultra 20 w/ amd64 and Fedora 5 installed to test this.
So far, much of the source has built with only minor tinkering in the model's Makefiles--this is really quite exciting, so go Sun! GCC refused to compile the code--apparently it hasn't implemented some feature of f90 modules that the model's code uses.
Unfortunately, it seems that I have run into a bug in Sun's f90: on compiling one of the model's source files I get the following internal error:
f90: Internal Error, code=fw-assert-ir3-817, last src=BalanceCheckMod.F90:264We have this version of the Sun f90 installed:
sunf90: Sun Fortran 95 8.3 Linux_i386 2007/05/03I will gladly supply the source file (and its dependencies) if it will help.

Thanks for feedback
Could you send me part of source code that gives this error (Fortran source file and all included to this file sources) and command line to my email
alexey.shubin(at)sun.com
I will look at your problem and reply as soon as possible

  • Protocal between ADF Business Service (ADF -AM) and the ADF Faces Model.

    Hi,
    Anyone knows how the communication is happening between ADF-AM and the ADF Faces model ? I mean the protocol? Is it handling by the application server container with the help of ADF libraries?
    I knew in ADF Faces and EJB the communication is hap[ping via RMI/IIOP (standard EJB call). But in the ADF BC and application module i am bit confused about the access. I knew we can expose the AM as state full session bean. But by default how that is happening. Experts please help me to understand the architectural concept of this.

    Hi,
    the question is not basic and valid too. Just wanted to understand the motivation behind it
    For bc4j i am not sure. can we full fill the above deployment scenario?
    Yes, you can. ADF BC allows you to deploy the business service as an EJB 2.1 model and then have the Data Control hooking up to it (JNDI).
    Apart from this i would like to know the communication protocol (by default) between ADF BC application module and the view model which is the data control. In ejb when we create the data control we can specify that is Local or remote ( Some people said the EJB binding is not full supported in some cases but for ADF-bc it is). But how this is happening in the ADF-BC.
    It would work like a normal EJB client. The ADF BC client interface would reside on the web tier and access the remote business service. So there is nothing different here than when using EJB. However, not that it uses EJB 2.1 still and that we don't see customers using this approach in a web deployment. It made lots of sense (performance) in desktop application development with ADF BC, but in web application development a remote business service access doesn't seem to be state of the art (and even using straight EJB you would use the local interface and have the business service model reside on the same machine as the web module)

  • Oracle Workflow Server in a SUN machine; and the Oracle

    Hi All
    I have installed Oracle Workflow Server in a SUN machine; and the Oracle
    Workflow Client (Builder) in a WIN2000 machine.
    In the SUN machine, I already had installed Oracle9i and OMS (Oracle
    Management Server) version 9.2.0.1.0.
    In the WINDOWS 2000 machine, I already had installed the Oracle9i
    Client and the OWB (Oracle Warehouse Builder) version 9.0.3.35.0. Workflow
    Builder
    was installed together with Oracle Client components.
    I have a OWB (Oracle Warehouse Builder) project, and I deploy and schedule
    JOBS in OEM.
    Now I need Oracle Workflow in order to better ordering, manage and schedule
    that jobs.
    I'm reading the following documentation:
    Oracle Workflow Guide (Release 2.6.2)
    http://www.csis.gvsu.edu/GeneralInfo/Oracle/workflow.920/a95265.pdf But I think Oracle Workflow is very complex to learn quickly.
    My OWB Project has several mappings that load tables in a Data Warehouse.
    When I deploy these mappings one by one, in OEM, I can execute them in OEM
    and they work well.
    But when I use the Workflow Deployment Wizard, I create a new Workflow
    Project (Item type and Process).
    But I can't Launch this process. I go to Launch Process in Workflow page
    (http://:/pls//) but when I iniciate the project,
    it stops in the OWB Standard Begin Function. It does not go ahead.
    Well, when I use the Workflow Deployment Wizard inside OWB, it generates
    jobs that can
    be viewed inside OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) too. But when I submit
    these jobs, I can't get success too.
    Can somebody help me? May you guide me in order to solve my problem, or send
    me some
    documents or links about workflow, and it's integration with OWB and OEM?
    Best regards

    I think this might be more of an OWB question, and how OWB uses workflow, I have sent an email internally to try and get someone to responsd. You should also consider contacting Oracle Support if you are having these kinds of problems.

    I bought an album on iTunes and the digital booklet it came with is not in my iTunes library. How can I get it back?

    You could try emailing iTunes support, giving them your order number, etc. or you could just take the hit and pay the 99p.  I know what I would do.

  • What are the differences between the iPhone 6  and the iPad Air 2 camera?

    The title says it all. One of my daughters works at Apple Austin, Tx and she recently purchased the iPhone 6+. She is a wonderful photographer and has a lot of professional camera gear. I am a retired photog myself and after seeing some of her photographs I was blown away by the results from her cell phone camera.  That thing is more like a camera that happens to have a phone built in.
    So, naturally I began to wonder what the differences are between the iPhone 6+ and the iPad Air 2 camera's. Interesteding question I think. For once I thought of posting a question here before spending a few hours looking up the answer myself. But, I will visit google next.

    I Found the answer here.         http://www.imore.com/ipad-air-2-vs-iphone-6-camera-comparison

  • SAP Business Workflow and The Workflow Reference Model

    Hi Experts,
    I try to map the Business Workflow with the Workflow Reference Model of WfMC.
    Interface 3 represents the communication of SAP's Workflow Engine with "Invoked (external) Applications".
    My Questions are:
    - which applications, tools can be invoked (Webservices, Group Ware Products)
    - and which component realizes Interface 3?
      (can I say that interface 3 is realized with different steps like web-activity,
    or the normal activity-step (WebFlow Service Handler) ? )
    Or is there a certain technology that is representative for realization of interface 3 ?  e.g. WfXML or SOAP?
    Thanks in advance

  • I recently bought a mac book air (mid 2013) and the power adapter that came with it does not fit into the port.

    The port has a small silver knob next to the pins that is preventing the adapter from connecting. I've never seen a port that looks like this and the tech specs say that the port should be a magsafe 2.  Has anyone seen anything like this before? I've included a picture

  • TS2570 I have this problem too I cannot boot from the startup disc and the install DVD theat came with the computer cannot be seen by the MacBook and refuses to eject van anybody help? I cannot open in Console as the error message I get says files are in

    Grey screen appears at startup the install disc is not recognised & will not eject every boot is met with grey screen revolving apple logo&folder&circle with diagonal and console error says start up item is in the trash also cannot access external FireWire drive please help. I also have a full copy of leopard if I can get the original install disc out perhaps it is corrupt tia

    john13th wrote:
    Ok, so this was done by Apple by purpose?
    To clarify slightly what others have said, Apple licences the grey system discs that come with a Mac for use only with that specific Mac, not for use with any other Mac, even one of exactly the same model. So using them with any other Mac violates the terms of the license & should be avoided. The installer on the grey discs enforces this in part by checking the model of the Mac when it is run & refusing to install anything if the Mac is not the correct model. It displays a warning message that the disc cannot be used with that Mac & the only available option is to quit the installer.
    Beyond that, while the grey discs may in fact include & install drivers for the hardware in other, older Mac models, they cannot include ones for Macs using hardware newer than the release date of the Mac they came with. In this case, the other Mac can't even start up from the installer disc & it freezes with a kernel panic before it can run the installer. This seems to be what happened here.

  • How do you play the radio with an iPod and the docking station model RDP-M5iP

    I purchased an iPod docking station model RDP-M5iP and I cannot play the radio.  It says to plug in the headphones for radio reception but that does nothing.  Is there any way to use the radio portion of the iPod with this model?

    Hello Roger,
    Welcome to Sony Community.
    This Personal Audio Docking System does not have built in radio and it seems you are playing radio from the connected iPod and wish to get the audio from Docking System Speakers. You may try checking the radio reception in the iPod. Also, you may try to playback music in the iPod and check if audio is output from the Docking System Speakers.

  • Thanks for Archlinux and the community.

    Hello,
    I just wanted to express my happiness towards Archlinux and it's community. I was searching for a distro that I could use to build on and Archlinux was the answer. I installed the base system and I am slowly getting everything running. I installed the core system from the core CD of course, then installed openbox. So, I now have a quick booting and very lightweight distro. I also run a openSUSE 11 Desktop PC which runs all my everyday stuff, my aim is to get all the applications that I run everyday. I probably won't desert my openSUSE disro as there is no harm in running both distros. I am about half way there. I am even running good 'ol Quakeworld (yes, the original. google 'ezquake'). I am going to try to get video/mp3 working now and then wine and TF2. Well, I would like to somehow give something back to the Linux community. I guess, unless I missed it there is no HCL (Hardware Compatibility List). So, I guess I will go ahead, please let me know or feel free to move this to another part of the forum.
    I am running a ASUS A8JM notebook, which has a Nvidia 7600GT (512Mb) video card, 2Gb RAM, 1.83Ghz Intel CPU.
    uname -a:
    Linux myhost 2.6.27-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Dec 21 09:31:10 UTC 2008 i686 Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
    I guess thats about it for me now.
    Thanks

    there is a HCL list. http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HCL/Laptops

  • So I bought a Used copy of final cut pro 7, but i cant use it because I need a serial number and the serial number that came with it doesn't work. What do I do?

    I bought my copy from ebay and when i got it I installed it, but every time i click on final cut pro 7 it asks for a serial number and when i put the on that came with it, it tells me it an invalid serail number. It is kinda making me want ti throw my mac out the window and just stick with windows.

    First, find out if you bought an "Upgrade" version, or a "Full" version.
    If you have an "Upgrade" version, it will require two serial numbers to work - first, the serial number of the last "Full" version you are upgrading from, then the serial number of the "Upgrade" software you are installing.
    If you have bought a "Full" version, see this KB article with help entering serial numbers in the Pro Apps:

  • Problem with Sun RI and CORBA communication

    We are trying to access the service of a c++ server running on a diff host from an EJB deployed on the Sun RI over CORBA.
    That means the EJB acts as a client to the C++ server. We have tried the same from a simple servlet also.
    When we write a simple Java client to access the services of the server through CORBA , it works fine.
    But, when we put the same code in the bean or servlet and deploy from the App Serv, where the following call (_non_existent) fails and generates an exception.
    // Resolve the Root Naming Context
    org.omg.CORBA.Object root_nam_obj = orb.string_to_object(ior);
    NamingContext rootContext = NamingContextHelper.narrow(root_nam_obj);
    try {
    if (rootContext._non_existent() )
    catch (Exception e) { return " _non_existent failed for rootContext"; }
    Prior to this line, we are initializing the ORB like the following where "10.125.97.218" is the current host and 3700 is the port where orb-listener is running (taken from the file <install-dir>/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml
    String [] args = { "" };
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort", "3700");
    props.put("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost", "10.125.97.218");
    org.omg.CORBA.ORB orb = org.omg.CORBA.ORB.init(args, props);
    In domain.xml , there are 3 entries for iiop-listeners. Those were default and we didn't change them.
    <iiop-service client-authentication-required="false">
    <orb max-connections="1024" message-fragment-size="1024" use-thread-pool-ids="thread-pool-1"/>
    <iiop-listener address="0.0.0.0" enabled="true" id="orb-listener-1" port="3700" security-enabled="false"/>
    <iiop-listener address="0.0.0.0" enabled="true" id="SSL" port="3820" security-enabled="false">

    </iiop-listener>
    </iiop-service>
    What we have observed in the server.log is , when the client is run , it is trying to create an IIOP listener again and fails.

  • I dropped my ipod5 on a stone table (really hard) and the color (little part) came off! It's not a big problem but I just got it not long time ago. Can Apple repaire it? Will it be free? P.s. That part it's like 1mmX1mm not big, but I just want to know.

    Like I say I'm the title... A little part "colour" on my iPod5 came off after I dropped my iPod on a stone table.
    I just want to know that can Apple repair it or it doesn't count on the guarantee? It's not a big problem but I just got it few month ago...It's brand new! Do that's why I'm curious..:) and if they can repair... Will it gonna be free?

    When you get your iPod repaired / replaced... do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and but a case, like a Lifeproof or Griffin Survivor. Both cover the entire iPod and offer protection against drops and falls, weather, sand, dust, etc. and will at least minimize if not prevent damage to your iPod.  Good luck.
