Suspect message

hi,
after i have launched query (simple select) on plsql/developer, i have had this message.
SQL> select count(*) from myTable;
"Cannot execute commands now"
I have never seen that before.
Any idea.

if your command window is busy executing a long running command, and before it finishes, you type another SQL statement and press enter, you get this message.
Just wait for the previous command to finish.
Type the first select statement, press enter and while it is executing, type the second select and press enter.
SQL> select * from a_really_big_table where rownum > 1 ;select * from dual ;
Cannot execute commands now
SQL> It generates an error when you try to execute a "select * from dual" while the prior select is still running.

  • Blocking messages from particular address domains in Mail 3.5

I am aware of the Junk Mail filter feature in Mail 3.5, but sometimes it does not pick up everything I'd like. I am wondering whether there is an option in the Mail program to block certain emails that end in a particular domain address. Is there a way that I can determine what I'd like to filter, since sometimes the Junk Mail filter doesn't pick up on particular messages?

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
Keep in mind that the Junk filter is not blocking anything, but simply moving the suspect messages into the Junk folder. You can in addition write a Rule to move addresses with a certain domain to the Junk mailbox, or a special one.
Blocking implies that it is not even allowed to be downloaded to your computer. That can only be done by filters operating at the server level, and administered by the provider of the server, assuming they have that capability.

  • Password-protected PDFs making mail blank view of messages?

Surreal problem that seems to have started about the same time as my 10.8.4 update (from 10.8.3):
Viewing the standard Mail view, with mailboxes on the left, message list for the selected mailbox in the middle, and message text in the largest pane on the right of the window; when moving through the list of messages, moving down and seeing the message texts to the right, all of a sudden, the preview pane to the right go BLANK.  And I've narrowed it down to several suspect messages that came from a regular group of business contacts who send me reports as password-protected PDFs.  I prepared a test PDF with Preview, encrypted, and used that to test the proposition that password-protected PDFs are what is 'breaking' the view of message contents in the right hand window, and it is clearly the problem.
After I view a message with the gray password-protected preview image showing in the preview pane, switching to another message in the message list, that next message shows a normal header but the text/body of the message shows blank.  And then the next messages keep showing blank until I either:  hide and unhide the main mail window OR quit and reopen mail.  But double-clicking on any message in the list to open it properly in its own window shows it normally.
Rebuilding my mailboxes did not help.  Rebooting did not help.
Any ideas about what the heck might be going on?

I've had the same problem on 3 computers since updating them to 10.8.4
I don't think many will find this thread as most will search for threads relating to 10.8.4
It only happens to my mail after viewing a message that contains a password protected pdf.  If I don't open emails that contain the pdfs mail works perfectly, but once I've clicked on a message that contains a pdf every email turns blank.  Mac mail & POP accounts.  I can double-click the email to have it viewable in a new window but still can't open the pdfs. I get password protected pdfs regularly for work.
    They're standard drives, no partitioning.
I've tried the "sandbox" suggestion with no joy.  & I've also tried removing junk filtering which is a suggestion on another thread.
    I don't think I'm up to re-installing 10.8.3 so I've been using a browser for emails.

  • Integrating Final Cut Server 1.5 with Active Directory

Following the directions in the Final Cut Server Setup Guide and I am running into errors. Fun with Final Cut Server. Fun with Kerberos.
Final Cut Server v.1.5 is running on an Intel Xserve running 10.5.6 Server, joined to AD. Active Directory is running on a Windows Server 2008 setup.
I dropped the ini files on the domain controllers, as directed by Apple KB (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3688) and I ran the commands directed in the setup guide.
The adprincadd command should be run literally, of course, but there's a mistake straight-away when it should read "./adprincadd.pl", the ".pl" is missing. Also it says "fcsvr/fqdn of fcsvr", so naturally I replaced the fqdn, but the "fcsvr" prefixed threw me off. It gave me errors until I opened Kerberos.app and notcied that the kerb ticket was in ldap/, then the command worked for me. At least no errors, until I checked the ticket and it said I had no permissions and that the keytab entry was invalid. Wheeee.
    1. First I tried:
    (some info redacted)
    node09:sbin root# ./adprincadd.pl -dc dc01.example.com. fcs.example.com.
Getting kerberos principal for computer account
    Kerberos principal is ---
    Getting computer id...---
    Getting AD Domain...---
    Base DN is dc=example,dc=com
getting kerb ticket using [email protected] got ticket
    SASL-bind to dc01.example.com. successful
    Computer record is at CN=---,CN=Computers,DC=example,DC=com
    Checking to see if ---.--.---. exists...000020B5: AtrErr: DSID-031529F7, #1:

    at ./adprincadd.pl line 165
    2. Then I noticed the /ldap in Kerberos.app and changed the adprinadd command:
Everything ran well, with no errors...
    Finding kvno...2
    Reading /etc/krb5.keytab...done.
    Creating new keytab file...done.
    Writing out temporary keytab...done.
Making backup of old keytab and moving new keytab into place...done.
Operation Completed. You can verify with "kinit <ad user>; kvno -k /etc/krb5.keytab ldap/---.example.com"
    3. Verifying with kinit gave me the keytab errors:
    kinit matx; kvno -k /etc/krb5.keytab ldap/fcs.example.com
Please enter the password for [email protected]:
ldap/[email protected]: kvno = 2, keytab entry invalid
kvno: Permission denied while decrypting ticket for 'ldap/[email protected]'
    Thoughts?

Hello, I'm having issues with the client login after AD integration. I followed the steps from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3818 and the Terminal output reported a success.
I'm able to add AD groups in Final Cut Server Group Permissions. However, when I try logging in on the FCServer client using credentials associated with AD group I've added, I'm getting an error message from the client stating:
"Please re-enter the username and password or contact the server administrator. Please note that the username and password are case-sensitive."
The FQDN is correct in the Server field of the client.
I'm able to log into the client using locally created user accounts that I've created on the server so I know the client is communicating correctly.
The only thing I can find in the Console for the client machine is this:
    11/25/09 10:50:12 AM /Users/*/Desktop/Final Cut Server.app/Contents/MacOS/Final Cut Server[1773] Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchors.
In the server Console, this is a suspect message: /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Server/Final Cut Server.bundle/Contents/MacOS/fcsvr_stored[77891] pps proxy error: dsDoDirNodeAuth = -14091
Not finding much info out there regarding this. Any guidance is appreciated.

  • 10.9.2 update broke my macbook

I updated downloaded 10.9.2, and chose 'Not Now' to the question about restart. I set a timer on my computer to go to sleep (counting sheep dashboard widget that I've used since Tiger), because I anticipated a long download. I wake up this morning to a gray screen of death upon tapping the keyboard. Mind you, I never actually chose to do the upgrade, but at some point during the night the system crashed.
Now, as soon as I input my password, the gray apple logo shows for about 5 seconds, the screen flickers to a different color (I presume the OS applying a monitor profile), and then goes black. At this point I'm fairly certain the machine is completely off. I press and hold the power button, and it starts up.
Note: This is a corporate computer, which sometimes makes me put in my password twice (at the OS level)—I don't reach the second login that has my chosen wallpaper.
    What I've tried:
Guest account. Computer restarts and safari is the only application available.
Safe mode. When I enter safe mode, I have a black screen with a mouse pointer. No other functions work. No keyboard shortcuts, screen dimming, etc. Nothing.
Turning off my wifi router. I know this there were patches related to SSL, so I thought my corporate computer might have an SSL related bug.
There is a VERY odd bug that I've noticed. While on the guest account, the safari URL bar flickers/jitters. This also happens when I hold cmd+r on startup and I'm at the screen where I'm chosing a language. There's an animation of the languages going by. They're jittery/sliced up while flowing by.
I would just erase the partition and reinstall the OS, but I NEED to get some files off of the HD first. Is there any way to get to bash on the main partition to cp/scp some files?

Also in same boat. Saw update. Told it to continue in hour and then closed my lid. Apparently it installed and now i have the same symptoms.
I havent' tried guest account approach, but that might let me mess with display settings if your at least getting a GUI with that approach.
At present right after logon screen, things go dark. If I move the mouse continuously i get a pointer over a black screen but nothing more.
I was able to remotely access the machine via SSH and started poking around.
When looking at /var/log/system.log I do see one suspect message:
" Received display connect changed for display 0x42803c2"
This could be a normal message since I've not had to look at system log much in the past but other posts would seem to indicate this isn't normal. My only hope at the moment is that the system believes it has an external monitor attached, though i've never had a blank screen as a result of attaching external display.
When I'm back in the office tomorrow I'll try attaching external display and see what happens.
    Some things I've tried/found:
Killilng windowserver process doesn't do anything. It is simply restarted with no change in symptoms.
Removing Plist files for WindowServer in /Library/Prefrences and ~/Library/Prefrences/ByHost does nothing.
I can access the system still via SSH but VNC just gives a black screen as well. At least data is recoverable.
This also implies i can move files off of this machine thankfully since network doesn't appear impaired.
Running "softwareupdate" command indicates no new updates available, so this update was "successfully" applied (i.e. not partially applied such that it could be re-applied or completed from the systems perspective)
After an extended period of time (hours at least) the system seems to kernel panic and crash.
I'm really begining to hate thunderbolt adapters.
If anyone knows how to up logging level for WindowServer that might be helpful in determining cause more specically than the generally obvious fact that this update had significant side effects.

  • Constant Connection Drops

I'm Panther (10.3.9), RCN cable, no wireless, no router.
My connection drops 5-10-15 times a day. Hitting "renew DHCP lease" brings it back. I work at home and am often up/downloading large graphics files, and this is destroying my productivity.
I tried calling the RCN tech support line. Nothing useful. They said my connection is fine, and besides don't have anyone on the floor who knows anything about macs. I called Apple tech support. Baffled. They said it might be my ethernet card, but were doubtful.
As a last resort, I brought my computer to a friend's house and hooked it up to her DSL line with the same ethernet cable. It stayed connected for 10 hours straight. I brought it back to my apartment, and the connection dropped. A tech came by and replaced both the modem and the cable today. Connection STILL DROPS. RCN thinks I'm hallucinating or something and continually denies there may be an issue on their end.
The service worked perfectly for 2.5 months, and then went splat! I didn't do anything at my end. One day it worked, next it didn't.
Suggestions? I would get a new ISP, but RCN is the only one that services my building.

This is exactly the problem that I'm having with my WRT54GS v6.
Usually it will stay connected to the Internet for days, but once in a while (like yesterday) it constantly loses connection.
My first indication of trouble is a web page not loading or a game becoming disconnected. Browsing to 192.168.1.1 usually works, where I'll see that the Internet has become disconnected. However, sometimes the router doesn't even respond at all, and I'll have to wait and refresh the page a few seconds later. Clicking the "Connect" button usually works to reconnect to the Internet, but it doesn't always work right away and then I have to try several times.
When this happens, quite often I'll get reconnected for less than a minute before it disconnects again. I have just time enough to verify that web pages are loading normally, online games can be accessed, etc ... and then its gone again. Suffice it to say that this is extremely frustrating.
I've seen alternate (lower) MTU values suggested here and in other threads. I'll give that a try for a few weeks and see how things shake out. I think the default was 1500 or 1492 or some such. I'm going to lower mine to 1450, as suggested here, or possibly as low as 1300, as I've seen elsewhere.
Are there any other useful troubleshooting tips that you would recommend for this type of issue?
    Thanks for your help,
    - Adam.
Edit: I should mention that yesterday I finally removed the router from the network and connected my computer directly to my modem. The Internet connection has been working without any trouble this way. So it would seem to not be a problem with my ISP or modem, and rather with the router, as I had suspected.Message Edited by Kaspre on 08-28-2006 09:11 AM

  • Empty Payload Hangs Server

I am using Oracle 8.1.7.3 with Advanced Queuing on Win2k and have run into a strange problem. I attempted to queue a JMS_BYTES_MESSAGE that contained no payload. After queuing the suspect message, all dequeuing for that queue ceases to work. Messages can still be queued but no messages can be dequeued.
I delete the messages from the queue and it does not help. I have tried stop and resarting the queue, to no avail. I have found that I have to restart the server instance and then I am able to delete the queue and recreate it.
I realize a zero byte payload may not be correct but I would not think I should have to restart the server either.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can mail be forwarded as an attachment?

In order to forward SPAM to my ISP I have to forward the spam as an attachment in RFC_822 MIME format. Can this be done with Apple Mail in Tiger? If so, how?
(It is a simple endeavor in practically every other mail app on the PC, but I cannot seem to figure it out in Mail on the Mac.)

    Buck,
This comes up routinely in this forum. I do not think there is a difference in forwarding with the Long Headers fully displayed, versus "as an attachment", which Mail does not directly provide for. If sending to only forward, and not for abuse reporting, check you Mail Help for "Forwarding several messages" and the use of the Append Selected Messages function.
For general background, read the following pasted comments I have made to others:
As I have read and researched this question, it appears that many email clients do not send the Headers of the messages during forwarding (this style is called Inline Forwarding) unless you specify forwarding as an attachment. Mail is not in this category -- it will send the full message, including Headers depending upon how you have your Mail Preferences set for Composing.
In Mail, if you click on View in the Menubar, and then Message, and choose Long Headers, the entire Header detail, including any Reply To Header (if present) will open, and if you forward with these headers showing, then the recipient will see them. Further more, if you change your Viewing Preferences to Customize your header view, and then forward the entire message, that detail will accompany the message.
It is important to check your Preference settings for Compose, and also, are you using Smart addresses or are you showing Name and Address -- this is controlled by clicking on View in the Menubar, and then Addresses, and choosing between Smart Addresses and Show Name and Address.
Among the sources I have checked for expressing this opinion are:
    http://mailformat.dan.info/quoting/forwarding.html
    http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/decode.htm
    and others.
A reason sometimes cited in reference to Forwarding as an Attachment, is to send a potentially dangerous message to the abuse desk of your ISP, and not activate any links, etc. I do not believe Mail can perform this, as it is generally thought of. There may be some scripts that accomplish this, but I do not think it is necessary in reporting suspect messages.
    I hope this helps.

  • ESA Deployment

    Hi Community,
I have a client with an ESA as the first mail server coming from the Internet and last one on the path out.
This client is a University and the default ESA settings are not stopping much of the spam received.
What I would like to ask is any recommendations or reference to deploying the ESA in a University where the recipients are just too many and too dynamic to maintain in a list (LDAP), and any guidance or best practices.
    Thank you very much,
    Federico.

    Hi Federico,
    Anti-Spam Best Practices
    Adapted From https://ironport.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/493
Verify that inbound messages are being scanned by the antispam engine. Do a message track on a recent message and check that it was scanned.
    - Go to MONITOR > MESSAGE TRACKING
    - Search for the email in question
    - Click the 'Show Details' link next to the email in question
Look for the Antispam engine (CASE) verdict. Example:
Thu Sep 12 13:21:09 2013 Info: MID 2359 interim verdict using engine: CASE spam negative
Thu Sep 12 13:21:09 2013 Debug: MID 2359 using engine: CASE definitely negative
Thu Sep 12 13:21:09 2013 Info: MID 2359 using engine: CASE spam negative
    2. Verify that you are receiving anti-spam rule updates
Check to confirm that the most recent time stamps for updates under Security Services > Anti-Spam are from within the last 2 hours
    3.      Make sure you are taking the desired actions on spam positive messages Check the Inbound Mail Policies for how IronPort Anti-Spam verdicts are handled. Make sure SPAM positive and suspect messages are dropped or quarantined in the default policy, and that all other policies either use the default behavior or deliberately override the default.
    4. Enable LDAP accept and Directory Harvest Attack Protection:
Many spammers send emails to a high number of invalid addresses, so blocking senders who send to invalid recipients can also decrease spam.
If LDAP accept is already on, make sure Directory Harvest Protection (DHAP) is also configured for each inbound listener with maximum invalid attempts between 5 and 10 per IP.
Review the following article on LDAP Accept
How to use LDAP Accept Query to validate the recipients of inbound messages using Microsoft Active Directory (LDAP)?
    Knowledge Base Answer ID: 156
    http://tools.cisco.com/squish/4680c
    5. Report mis-classified messages to IronPort. Please refer to "How do I report IronPort Anti-Spam false positives or missed spam?", which details how to submit messages and verify that submissions to these addresses are in the correct format (i.e. MIME attachments of complete un-mangled messages with full headers). See "How do I create RFC-822 MIME encoded attachments? " for more details
    6. Review the Daily Management Guides, AsyncOS Configuration Guide and AsyncOS Advanced Guide for additional info

  • Proxy message: suspect TcpConnection

    Dear support users,
I have received 2 information messages in the proxy log file I never saw before:
    - Extend*TCP has marked TcpConnection(...) as suspect: The connection has fallen 1 messages (... bytes) behind; the threshold is 10000 messages or 10000000 bytes.
    - Extend*TCP has determined that TcpConnection() is no longer a suspect: The connection has reduced its backlog to 19 bytes; the target was 2000000 bytes.
At the same time, our .Net Client cannot connect to it.
Both messages are not in the list available on Log message glossary (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E24290_01/coh.371/e22838/appendix_errormsgs.htm#sthref59)
Have you some information about these messages and if it can explain the connection issue ?
    Best regards, David

Check out the suspect-buffer-size and suspect-buffer-length
However, my impression is that it shouldn't block a new client trying to connect to proxy, but I could be wrong.
By any chance when you mentioned cannot connect was same client trying to connect from a different thread?

  • Subject/Question: "WARNING: SUSPECTED PHISHING SITE" message has just recently come up for me EVERY time I go to a website on Safari. What do I do?

This has been happening for me just recently, 12/2012... EVERY TIME I CLICK ON A WEBSITE, I get: WARNING: SUSPECTED PHISHING SITE.
At first, I thought it was valid, but when I saw that it was doing it before EVERY page, I knew that something was wrong. I read through your comments from the past, but saw no indications of what was causing the problem then or how to fix it.
I have a macbook 10.5.8, & I use Safari. Never had this problem before.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
I may have changed a few things in System Preferences... and...
I have copied & pasted the email addresses from my spam to block in Yahoo mail to see if that makes any difference in the number of spam emails that I get. Probably not, as they are constantly changing email addresses, but thought I would try.
That is all that I know that I have done.
And now this is constant & annoying & I don't know what websites that I can trust.
    Please help.
I haven't use this site much. Will I get an email to let me know if anyone responds? Or do I have to try to come back here to check for replies?
    Thanks again!

Have you tried the Reset Safari... in the pull down menu under Safari?
