Symbols in Mail

I'm trying to get my Mail to match the previous state of my Postbox IMAP mail.
Is there a reference for the symbols in Mail such as the tilde ~ that I see next to some accounts or the yield sign next to some of my notes/to dos? I assume these indicate some kind of problem but I can't find search terms that get me there.
thanks.

Click on the symbol.

  • Strange symbol in Mail

    Hi,
Any idea on what the below symbol means? It appears on the inbox on mail with large attachments.

    Charles...
You can always check iCloud system status here >  Apple - Support - iCloud - System Status
    All services are online.
When I search for this App I am unable to find it anywhere on my MacBook.
    iCloud is not an app.
Open System Preferences > iCloud. If you haven't setup your iCloud account yet follow the instructions here. Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.

  • Strange "pie chart" symbol appearing - Mail must be force quitted

Just yesterday randomly half way through the day, a strange 'pie chart' symbol appeared next to my Inbox, and though I can receive mail and send mail, Mail.app (after 1 min of being open) makes my CPU skyrocket to 100%. I cannot quit Mail, and the only way I can force quit is via Activity Monitor. The usual altcommandesc combo is not bringing up Force Quit. So 2 issues:
    1. What's up with Mail? I'm using POP via Gmail as my main server.
    2. How do you get force quit to show up?

    /Ditto
Sometimes my mail will send, but the process will take anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes to do so. More often than not, though, it just disappears into a black hole. Plus, this just started happening two days ago. All was well before then.

  • Prob. simple question: strange Symbol at Mail folder showing

I have imported some folders into Mail and now one of them is showing a "clock" symbol next to the folder's name. Cannot find this in the helpfiles, maybe someone can give a quick hint on what this symbol means.

It sounds like you're seeing the circular progress indicator. As the task progresses (typically it is syncing with a mail server), the circle will fill up to show how much work is completed and remaining.

  • Inserting symbols into Mail Signature

Hi. I have been trying various ways to insert the registered (R with circle around it) symbol into my signature. Mail does not have the symbol that I can find. When copy and paste from MSWord (for MAC) the symbol is converted to a different character. Can anyone please advise on this one? Thanks! G

  • Replace symbols in e-mail subject

    Hi
How can I create the subject of an e-mail that is send when I crete a delivery that depends of the delivery data?
I want that the subject is ' Delivery (LIKP - VBELN) reference to (VBAK -BSTKD).
    Thanks

    Hi
As I tell you, if you read related notes you can read note Note 718017 - Replacement of text symbols in spool title/MAIL and Note 213511 - Processing text symbols in mail messages. By analogy with SO (that this notes explains), you can see that in report SAPMV50A you can call the subroutine TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE. If you don't have the field that you want to edit in subject, these notes explains you how to enhance (ZZ_TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE ). Check Note 699554 - Parameter LIKP-VBELN replaced incorrectly in mail and fax too.
You have this code in report MV50AF0
    *&      Form  mail_texts
form mail_texts tables it_xtlines structure tline
                    using  is_xthead type thead
                           is_nast type nast.
      data:
        lf_vbeln type vbeln_vl.
    * get likp for nast in case of multiple xlikp entries
      lf_vbeln = is_nast-objky(10).
      if lf_vbeln ne likp-vbeln.
read table xlikp with key vbeln = lf_vbeln.
        move-corresponding xlikp to likp.
      endif.
    * replace text symbols in mail
      perform text_symbol_replace tables it_xtlines
                                   using is_xthead
                                         is_nast.

  • Subject line on e-mailed invoices

    Hi all----
I'm having some difficulty with the subject line of our e-mailed invoices.
We maintain in VV32 --- [our company] invoice &XNAST-OBJKY&.  This includes the invoice number in the subject header along with our company's name.  This works perfectly for us.
However, now we have a customer who instead of the invoice number in the subject line of their e-mails, wants their PO number.
In VV32 I tried &XVBAK-BSTNK& and &XVBRK-BSTNK_VF&, however neither of them work.
    What am I missing?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Josh

    Hi
    Please, see these notes
Note 49174 - NAST: VF01 Replacement of symbols does not work
Note 537832 - Incorrect replacement of text symbols for MAIL
Note 718017 - Replacement of text symbols in spool title/MAIL
So, do a subrutine in RV60AFZZ, for instance ZZ_TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE. Populate in V/40 for your message program SAPLV60A and the last subrutine in the fields for replace of text symbols. After, do the settings in V/40 to see this text symbol.
    I hope this helps you

    Eduardo
PD: other idea. Rule the number of PO for splitting the invoice, and store this number in any field. If you don't have any field for this purpose, enhance VBRK with an append and populate it in the copy rules with a VOFM subroutine.

  • IMAP subfolders in Mail.app

I am new to Mac, a recent switcher, so please forgive if this is a FAQ.
I have one IMAP account, with a subfolder in the inbox. I see all my inbox contents when I click at the inbox symbol in Mail.app, but I do not see the subfolder at all.
If I set up another account (or the same one under a different cover), I see two smaller inbox icons under the larger top one, each of which shows the subfolder.
How can I make that subfolder visible with just one account set up, either under the top level inbox symbol or force Mail.app to show the smaller inbox symbol (plus folder) underneath.
    Thanks
    - Tom

It seems to me like it's a bug in mail.app - it only shows the subfolders if there is more than one.
My workaround is to create an extra subfolder in the inbox. It then shows both subfolders.
This is on OS 10.5.8 - I don't know if they fixed this in any updates (maybe in 10.6 they've fixed it)

  • Unable to clear inbox, still showing 1 message in inbox on icon when there are no messages in the inbox. How can I clear the 1 message from the icon indicator?

I am unable to clear 1 message in my email inbox showing on the icon. I have tried clearning out all messages in my inbox and it still shows 1 message remaining unread. I erased messages 5 days ago and since then it has been showing 1 message remaining. How can I clear this from the icon? Thanks

Ouit Mail app. (Remove from MultiTasking bar).
Double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking dock. Tap and hold an app. A red badge with a minus symbol will appear on the icons. Tap the minus symbol of Mail app to quit.

  • What are these icons?

I've seen the little checkmarks, the spinning gears, the circle with the diagonal cross through it and a circle with an x inside of it, but never this.
Does anyone know what these symbols indicate? Or is there an icon legend for ical somewhere?
    Thanks in advance!

    jinniferb,
It must mean that the accounts are offline.
I see the same symbol in Mail when I take the account offline.
If you type iCal Symbols into iCal help you will see the defined symbols...although that one is not included.

  • Maintain Subject (LISTCODE) on PCUI

    Hi,
In service order maintenance, SAPGUI fast entry screen (transaction crmd_order) has a field called SUBJECT (technical field name LISTCODE) to maintain subject category code.
I need to provide users a way to maintain the same in PCUI application CRMD_BUS2000116.
In view CRMV_REGTABGRC, for tab page group SRV_ODC1, I enabled event S1O_HD_TREE_ANALYSIS, which now shows a new tab "technical analysis" on PCUI. On this tab I can view the subject, if it is maintained in SAPGUI. I can even delete an entry if it was earlier maintained in SAPGUI. But I'm not able to maintain a subject here.
Any idea what do I need to do?

  • Accidentally Deleted Calendar Event via Decline Button

I have accidentally deleted a calendar event on more than one occasion due to having a calendar event open to view its contents and then accidentally touching the Decline button, usually when trying to scroll and putting the finger down too far (and to the right).
Has anyone else done this? Any tips for avoiding this problem other than the obvious "be more careful" or "swipe towards the left of the screen"? Is there any way to get rid of the Accept,Maybe,Decline buttons or to add an additional confirmation dialog? The only way to recover after an accidental Decline seems to be to have the invitee or someone invited to the event forward the calendar event to me again so that I can accept it and have it put back on the calendar.
The calendar events in question are those coming from a Microsoft Exchange server used at work. There is no issue with my own calendar events since these obviously do not have Accept,Maybe,Decline buttons.

Thanks. I suppose my gripe isn't so much with Microsoft as it is with Apple's U.I. design that makes it too easy to make a change that deletes the event. For other places where there is a deletion, such as the trash symbol for mail messages, you are prompted with a secondary "Delete Message" dialog which is a configurable option "Ask Before Deleting" in the Mail preferences. I would like to see a similar option for the calendar events "Ask Before Declining" or something like that since a Decline deletes the calendar event and unfortunately it is too easy to accidentally hit that Decline button.
So what is the best way to make a feature request to Apple such as the above? I'll consider the question answered if I know how to best make this suggestion to Apple.

Its complaining about the variable "tel" which it says is not declared.
Scope of a variable is only for the current block (ie within {curly brackets} )
The code you have shown here looks ok - is it exactly what you have on the page?
This sort of code SHOULD be in a servlet/bean rather than a JSP though.
Scriptlet code in a JSP is very hard to debug.
My recommendation would be to put the code into a java class where it belongs and you can test it independantly of a JSP page.
