Table Import Configuration behaviour

Hi All,
I am using multiple .hdbti  and .csv files from different delivery units to load data to a single table.
After first activation the required data is inserted in to the table from the .CSV files. But during subsequent update of data values  and activation of .CSV file, the initial data [import] set is replaced by the incoming data set. It does not act a delta import.
Would like to understand during import how exaclty the system is aware of the import set that was executed earlier for the given .csv file referenced by the given .hdbti file, such that it is able to replace the same with the in coming data import set . What kind of metadata is stored in the background to enable this ?
Thanks and Regards,
Rashmi

  • Error while importing text file to Power Pivot via Table Import Wizard

    Hello there,
I'm a rookie at handling Excel to be honest. I've been trying to import a .txt file to Excel (it contains around 14 million rows of information) but Excel won't let me since it can only handle around 1 million rows per sheet (too troublesome to do such thing
14 times in 14 different sheets). Then I googled that Power Pivot let me handle around 100 million rows in a Pivot.
I'm trying to import this .txt file to Power Pivot by doing the following:
Home tab > From Text > File Path (insert .txt location here) > Finish
After that it shows the Table Import Wizard retrieving the rows from the .txt file. Problem is... at the end of the import (once it hits row 14,000,000 or so) it shows an error. It states the following:
"Memory error: Allocation failure : Not enough storage is available to process this command. .
The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed."
Please note that the size of the .txt file is 900 MB.
Another thing is that, when I select the .txt file from its location at the File Path section, the "preview" field only shows 50 rows, not all of them. Is that okay to happen?
Is it because the size of the .txt file is too big?
Please let me know if you need more info in regards to this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi AdiUser,
Only showing 50 rows for the preview is normal behaviour. Based on what you've described, it sounds like Power Pivot is running out of memory when you are loading this .txt file. Are you running the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Excel. Also, if you are running
the 64 bit version how much RAM is available?
If you're running the 32 bit version then the available RAM for Power Pivot is less than 1 GB even if the system has more than this installed. You can address this by installing the 64 bit version. If you're running the 64 bit version then it may be
that you don't have enough RAM to accommodate this amount of data and you may consider upgrading the RAM. Alternatively, you could try and reduce the size of the table in memory by using the preview screen to remove any columns that are not of use. This
is especially important if there are any column with a high number of unique values that aren't actually needed in the model. In addition to removing columns altogether, you could try filtering the data so that only a subset of the rows are imported.
This can also be done from the preview screen.

    Michael Amadi

  • Error while table Import from Oracle (OBIEE server 64bit & Client 32bit)

    Hi All,
    Problem : ODBC/OCI Connectivity Issue between OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 (64-bit) server and OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 Client (32-bit) local machine.
We have an OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1(64-bit) setup on a 64-bit ‘Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise’ machine.
OBIEE dev team members have 32-bit local machines.
OBIEE “Admin team member” (who will work on RPD) has OBIEE 11g client (BP1) installed on their *32-bit local machine*(which is common client software for 32/64 bit.)
Now, two ODBC connections were created on this 32-bit local Client machine, with OBIEE 11g client installed on it.
One with “BI server driver” for connection to OBIEE server machine(64-bit) to open RPD and other with “Oracle database driver” to connect to the Oracle database on 64-bit machine, to import tables.
With this setup done, I am able to open the RPD in online mode and view the existing sampleapp related objects present in it.
But when I try to import metadata from OBIEE client admin tool using OCI or ODBC, it gives an error that “Connection fails! “
I have the required tns entry in my tnsnames.ora file and I am able to connect to this database from the local client machine, using sqlplus.
Kindly let me know if there are any restrictions in using this type of a setup combination of 32-bit and 64-bit machines for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 setup.
If not then, what steps are to be followed to do the setup btw 64-bit OBIEE server and 32-bit OBIEE client to make table import working.

Hi Veeravalli.. Thanks for your response.
I have my tns file residing in both the location you mentioned on the server machine. (64-bit)
    •     {Oracle_BI1}\network\admin directory
    •     {oracle_common}\network\admin directory
And also in the below Oracle_home path of oracle_client in the local machine. (32-bit, Oracle 11g R2 database client)
    •     {oracle_Home}\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin
Also, I have used the full expanded tnsnames as you mentioned. Still issue persists.
When I use , “DataDirect 6.0 ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol” driver, for creating the system DSN and try to import tables from OBIEE client admin tool on local client machine, the connection happens and table list comes up, but it’s an SAP product and hence it throws a msg to purchase the tool to go further with table import.
I am wondering if I any other configuration steps need to be carried out, with the ODBC/OCI set up between 64-bit OBIEE server and 32-bit OBIEE client.
Also, the source database that I am trying to connect to is yet again on a 64-bit machine(Oracle 11g R2).
    Please suggest.

  • Importing configurations via Order Import in R12

    Hi All,
We need some help with this issue we are facing while importing configurations ( PTO ) via order import process.
The scenario is like this : we have parent PTO Model Item : A and under this we have 2 Option Classes within the BOM: OC1 & OC2
    Each of these option classes have 2 items each : option class - OC1 has ( Item B & Item C) while option class - OC2 has ( Item D & Item E)
Now in the OM interface tables we want to interface : PTO Model Item A and along with it the Item B and Item E ( one item from each of the option classes). Hence we populate the oe_lines_iface_all table the below mentioned fields
    inventory_item,  item_type_code , orig_sys_line_ref  , top_model_line_ref,  ship_from_org
    A                     MODEL               1.0                        NULL                      S1
    B                                                                            1.0                         S1
    E                                                                            1.0                         S1
--Now when we run the Order Import we are getting errors :  "org_sys_line_ref cannot be NULL" and errors - "item B and E are not found in the BOM of the model A"
--when we try to populate the orig_sys_line_ref columns values for Item B and E as let's say 2.0 and 3.0 , still we get the "items not found in the BOM of the model A error  message". But when we check the BOM these component items are present there.
With the same Model Item A and Option class component items B and E we are able to create an order successfully within OM frontend screen and the BOM structure for the PTO Model A is also active and enabled.. This is a Published BOM for the PTO Model Item A
Could someone please help as to what additional columns need to be populated or what needs to be done in order to get this resolved.
    Thanks

  • Error in importing Configuration objects of PI 7.0 to PI 7.1

    Hi All,
My server is upgraded from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1.
I am getting Error while  importing Configuration objects of PI 7.0 to PI 7.1 now.
    Pls see the below error
Attempt to access the 1 requested objects on 1 failed. Detailed information:  com.sap.aii.ib.core.roa.RoaObjectAccessException: Attempt to read object Adapter Metadata Mail | http://sap.com/xi/XI/System, type AdapterMetaData from application REPOSITORY on system REPOSITORY failed. Object does not exist. Detailed informatio n: Software component version with key ID: b38bcd00e47111d7afacde420a1145a5 not found
    Pls suggest

    Hi,
It seems that adapter metadata has not been loaded into integration repository and because of that when you are trying to import configuration objects in ID then you are getting the error.
The SAP adapter metadata objects are located under the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System of software component SAP BASIS.
What you can do is, if you have installation dvd's then you can copy from their or you can simply [_DOWNLOAD_|https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=SEARCH&HIDE=&SEARCH_SPAT=X&SEARCH_BPAT=X&SEARCH_CD=X&SEARCH_P=X&SEARCH_PV=X&SEARCH_C=X&SEARCH_CV=X&SEARCH_TA=&SEARCH_V=&HIDE_EXPERT_SEARCH=X&SEARCH_MAX_RESULT=20 ] from sap market place (refer this [thread|how to import Adapter metadata;) (you must have S-user id for this) and then after you need to do as mentioned below...
    1. First unzip the file (if it is zipped) and then put it in the import directory: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\
    2. Now login to IR and then from menu TOOLS ---> Import design objects and import it.
    3. After that in ID, Environment ---> Clear SLD Data Cache
    4. Now you can try to import configuration objects...

org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'xl-ddm-data'.

Based on your error a few questions come to mind...
What does your Configuration XML file look like? It's root XML node should be xdb_app_map. Your error makes me think you may be pointing at an adapter file versus db schema mapping file.
Are you starting from one of the provided examples like OraApp1.xml? If you followed Step 3: the connector file copy instructions during deployment, you should find the samples in "OIM_home/xellerate/XLIntegrations/DBAppTables/xml/DB_Schema" Or you can search for OraApp1.xml or OraApp2.xml.
Have you configured your IT Resource with the appropriate path to the XML file? If you are on Unix it's going to be case sensitive, I can't speak for a windows path.
I hope this helps. I know I had a few challenges myself when I first took a swing at the DB Table Adapter from the 9.0.4.1 connector pack.
    regards,
    Jason

  • Re-importing Configuration Objects

    experts!
I have imported Configuration Objects from .tpz files in Integration Directory. Because of those objects where unable to activate, I did a reject change and all objects were gone. When I try re-import from the same .tpz file, it is not showing in the file list. The .tpz file is there in the import folder of directory.
Please help me to re-import objects from .tpz file.
    thanks
    nikhil

    Hi,
Here we have to consider some points while Exporting & Importing the .tpz files.
1)Once you export that configuration objects, the tpz file will be created at Export DIR.
2)From there we have to copy that file into Import DIR.
3)Once You import the tpz file from Import DIR or faild to Import DIR means those files will be moved to Imported Files DIR.
    4) Now if we are looking to import those again means , they will not be available to import in ID.
So we have to copy that file again from the Export DIR and Paste it inImport Folder

  • Table Import Data - "Insert script" - National characters

    Hi all,
it looks like that there is a problem with support of national characters in imported data file when method "Insert script" is chosen.
Table -> Import Data -> Open datafile "csv".
As far as in the preview window I'm seeing properly displayed national characters from csv data file and when I'm choosing "Insert" or "SQL Loader" method - data is properly imported to the table.
But when I'm using "Insert script" method, in generated script national characters are changed into "bushes":

  • Import configurations error

    hi all,
We are facing some problem in Importing configuration in local DCs.
When we click on Import Configuration and selecting remote in the Development Configurations Import window it shows an error i.e.,"No configuration server or server error"
    Pls help us in this
    regards...
    Gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,
This Kind of problem occur when we don't configure properly on names server in the page of SLD.
    Steps: Go to  http://localhost:port/sld
    Define Namespace prefixes:
On the start page of SLD choose Name Reservation
    Choose Define Namespace Prefix
    Define following prefix:
Name Category = Development Component Name
    Namespace Prefix = example.org/tech(User dependent)
Purpose = Used By Developer (default)
    Owner = <user currently logged in>
    Description = can be empty
    Choose button create.
After this Go to devinf page http://<local host>:port/devinf after that click on ChangeManagement Service
    here click on Landscape configurator.
After that, click on the domain data.
Now going to click on the update CMS
Before using NWDI then use "delete crab" for deleting previous existing workspace.
May be I think resolve ours problem.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Mutyal

  • Question for importing configurations into NDS....

Why are some tracks shown in the import configuration in the NDS shown under a tree level for both con and dev of a track, and others are not?

    Hi,
Do other tracks that are not displayed have  have a dev/cons workspace?
There is an option in NWDS to display all, dev, cons systems. Normally all tracks should have a dev, cons workspace. In my opinion, if the display option is set to all, then u will see the track under both dev and cons, if dev option is set then u will see only dev, and cons respectively for the display option cons.

  • Importing configuration USING JDI

    Hi All,
Here is the problem which I am facing. I logged in to JDI and its sucessful. After that in DC perspective.. in Inactive DC window, when I tried to right click, but in this case it not opening a context menu.
then in Local Dc window, I tried to right click and click on import configuration and select remote, it gives me the following error.
No configurations on server or server error. But, I am able to do it with my co-worker user id
did anyone get this before. I have fours track. also i have created 4 client in DTR view. Is there anything else..i need to do?

    > Is this client creation mandatory in JDI. I worked on
    > NWDI before. there was no such client creation. SO,
    > just kinda confusing.
    No, it's not.
The only time you need to deliberately create a client is when you want to alter permissions .  If you just want to browse the repository, select the checked-out track, and switch to the DTR perspective.
In my experience, if you try to alter permissions with the clients created by checking out the dev configs, you may get all sorts of errors.  It was very frustrating until I re-read the docs and did what the indicated - create a dtr client that starts at the root.
