Task Group

Which t-code is used to create & Maintain a Task Group? When I use PP01 it says 'this object type cannot be maintained from basic transcation'. I know we can do the changes in IMG for this object type to be maintained, but is their any other T-code, like we have for qualification PPPM.?

anyone who can tell me how to use the Interface IFWFTSKGRP (Start Task Group for Workflow Interface)?
As far as I understood the documentation it can be used to restrict the selection of workflows that can be started in the Generic Object Services. But the question is how to implement it.

(probably it's a bit too late to post an answer after 3 years , but I'll post it in case someone else needs it)
You should implement GetTaskGroup method.
The code should return id of the task group (otype TG, mantained in PFTC) that holds the list of workflow definitions.
Here is a sample implementation. It's taken from FORMABSENC business object. It belongs to SAP demo workflow "Notification of Absence". I suppose it should be present in most systems and you can see it in action.

DATA: taskgroup LIKE rhobjects-object.
*- set task group
taskgroup = 'TG70000023'.
*- set result
swc_set_element container result taskgroup.

Agent assignment for a task group

Hi,
I have created a TAsk group which has two workflows inside. But when go for the agent assignment for the task group via OOCU tcode, it is not showing the workflows under the task group.

Cons Mon - Task group status issue

Hi All,
When we run the update at task group level system first stimulating the data & before accessing the cube its checking for authorisation and even if the user dont have authorisation its updating the task status.. & when we see the status of the task its showing the user name. which is giving lots of confusion to the other users.
How can we avoide it any advice will be very much appriciated.
Please let me know if any thing is not clear so that I can elabarate more.

Hi Kamal,
Are you sure that the user does not have authorisation for ALL consolidation units in your hierachy?
eg if the user has updated the status of only 1 unit in the hierarchy then the top level group status will still be updated.
And of course, you can use transaction code SU53 to see which authorisations are being checked.

DAC - Task Group inactivated - but Child tasks got executed.

I have inactivated a Task Group and assembled the subject area.
Built the Execution plan and executed.
When i checked for Task Group in the execution history after completion. Task Group is not present but its child tasks are present.
I am not familiar with DAC much, can anybody help me finding the problem.

You need to inactivate tasks as well along with task group.

As far as I know, we can specify order of tasks and no option to specify order for taskgroups. Might be based on the target tables present the DAC itself handles which taskgroup should execute first and so on. DAC identifies this while we build the execution plan. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Central system Administration : User defined task groups

Hello,
In SolMan4.0, you can define user-task-groups (e.g. for daily system checks). The definition and processing of those tasks, works.
But they are not visible in the overview screen of the solution.
If there is only 1 user-defined task left, the overview does not show any open tasks
Any idea's ?

Hi Udo,
The frequency is set on 'every 3 days'.
We are on ST-400 SP4 (SP6 is not available I guess)
I only defined an entry in the tab 'defining User Task Groups'
and one entry in the tab 'Assigning User Tasks'
The user task itself is visble as 'open' in the list, but not in the overview of the systems (icon with a red + sign)
As I work through the tasks, the red +sign changes into a green sign, at the moment that there is one user-defined task left (all the other 'sap'-tasks are 'done').

It can be accomplished using program UCBATCH00 or UCBATCH01.
I've used UCBATCH00 in several cases.
These programs require variants for each task, version, period and year combination. And, each variant requires a "sub-variant". The sub-variants are not transported and must be created in each system manually.

UWL - Subsitution rules: create new tasks group

When creating new substitution rules in UWL, we can choose between three task groups (All, Disciplinary, Professional).
Is it possible to create new task grouping, and so, group task by task type/ID ? How can I define new grouping?

This can be achieved by maintaining task classes and assigning substitution profiles to task classes as per your needs.
Then you can assign the required tasks to the task classes.
There is a very well explained document on this scenario.

Display Count Of Tasks In Todo Task Group

Hello,
We've just completed a migration and created new outlook profiles for our users.
My director is certain that he used to have a count of the number of tasks in each group here:
Does anybody have any ideas as to how to get to this?

Which version of Outlook did you use before? Is your director using any add-in to achieve the goal before?
As far as I know, Outlook doesn't have such feature to display count of tasks in To-Do List group. We can only show the count of items in each Outlook folder by right clicking the folder and selecting "Show total number of items" bullet.

Removing the user from standard task group

Experts,
I need to remove the one user from the standard task "Display MC Document (outbound w/o IDoc)". Since it is a standard task I'm not able to make any changes.
I hope I need to change in the agent which is assigned to this task. But donno how to find the agents assigned to this task.
Please help me in resolving this.

Hi Naveen,
If that user assigned as the 'Possible agent' of the task then you can remove the user easily.
In the workflow template, go that activity. Under the Task ID there is a option called 'Agents' and click that icon to open. In the new screen, the possible agents of this task will be displayed.
Select the desired user and delete it.

[Project Pro 2013] User Custom Field w/ Formula does not calculates on Group Tasks

This issue happens only on Project 2013. When I make a formula (using Duration, Cost, Number, etc...) on a custom field and set "Use formula" option in "Calculation for task and group summary rows",
works fine without groups, on resume tasks. But when I Group the tasks, the group tasks values disappear.
When I open the same file on Project 2010, it works correctly.

Thank you for the effort. This problem is a bit tricky and hard to explain without images or files.
I'll try to explain using your example:
- I do not coded my summary tasks with the value in the "Text1" field and
- I do not want to maintain hierarchy on groups like you show.
1. On "No Group" mode, the summary tasks works fine. All summary tasks shows the values calculated by the formula. Summary tasks are not the problem.
2. However, when you group the tasks by Text1, the Group Tasks (the colored ones that appear on group mode: Group: a, b and c) do not show the values calculated by the formula, even if you set to "use formula" on summary and group tasks.
3. When you open the same file on Project 2010 (default configs), group tasks values appears (values calculated for the groups of the detail tasks: a, b, c). If your Duration1 field stays the same or disappear, change some values and refresh the field to check
the formula is working.
4. If you see that everything are working correctly so far, try this on your file:
4.1. Maintain your tasks grouped by Text1.
4.2. Add three Fields: "Duration2", "Duration3" and "Duration4".
4.3. On every detail tasks, enter 2 days for Duration2, 3 days for Duration3.
4.4 Set Duration2 and Duration3 to "show Average" value on the resume and group tasks. Set the Duration4 to "use formula".
4.5. Create on Duration4 field a simple formula, like [Duration2]+[Duration3], or [Duration2]/[Duration3].
4.6. See that the formula works fine the detail tasks (Duration4 = 5 days).
4.7. Now the problem: The group tasks shows nothing. Duration4 should be calculated (average duration2: 2 days + avg duration3: 3 days = 5 days).
4.8. Save the file and open on Project 2010. If the resume tasks on Duration4 continues to show nothing. Refresh the field by clicking right button on field and going to "Custom field" and pressing OK.
See that Duration4 are calculated on Project 2010 correctly, but not on 2013 version. That is the problem

GPP Scheduled Task Fails in Group Policy Modeling depending on DC

We have multiple domain controllers running at a 2003 functional level.
We have 1 DC running Server 2003 x86 SP2 and the rest run Server 2008 (maybe R2)
I created a GPO that includes a Scheduled Task Group Policy Preference under Computer Configuration.
In order to test this I used Group Policy Modeling in the GPMC on a 2008 R2 Machine where I am editing Group Policy.
If I run the modeling (perform the simulation on the 2003 DC it fails. (Note I am modeling the GPO for a different computer, not the 2003 SP2 DC, I am running the modeling for a Workstation)

If I run the modeling using a 2008 DC to perform the simulation it works fine.
Per the instructions on the Summary Tab regarding the scheduled task failure I look at the event log on the 2003 domain controller and this is what i find.
The event I get on the 2003 DC is 8196 and I will place the details below.

So, should I be concerned that this is failing on the 2003 DC, does this mean that if my workstations authenticate to my 2003 DC that the preference will not process?
I was reading that in 2003 client side extensions were not there and can be installed, would this make the modeling succeed?
How do I get verified, I tried to post screenshots, but I could not. :(

As you have found the reason, I want to confirm whether the issue has been fixed.
In fact, for Windows Server 2003 to apply or process Group Policy Preferences settings, we must install client-side extensions of GPP for Windows Server 2003.
Although this is not related to this case, for your information, if our clients are Windows XP or Windows Vista, to use GPP, we must install client-side extensions for these
workstations respectively.
