Tecra 9000: onboard modem isnt detected with WINDOWS XP

I reinstall Windows XP and it is not possible to detect the internal Modem with the device manager automatically. No internal modem is detected. Could somebody please send me a link for downloading a suitable internal modem driver for Tecra 9000? Many thanks in advance.
Anybody has same problem, too?

Hello Clemi
Sorry but I assume that the modem is defective. All working hardware parts are shown in device manager even as unknown devices. You can download the right modem driver from Toshiba download page but I dont believe that it will help.

  • Tecra M3 - touchpad is not working with Windows 7

I have a Tecra M3 that I have updgraded to Windows 7. The touchpad is not working.
The Toshiba website does not have Windows 7 drivers for this model. I have tried installing the touchpad driver and TVAP from the A11 model but still cannot get it to work.
Can anybody help? The audio doesn't seem to be functioning either.

    Hi buddy,
As Silas wrote, it could be a little bit problematic to find the correct drivers because it doesnt support Vista...
You should try a touchpad driver from another model like Tecra M4. This should work.
But Im wondering about this. Basic functions of touchpad should also work without special driver.
Can you use the touchpad at the moment?

I have tryed Uninstalling it then reinstalling it but that dosen't seem to help. I also have installed a buffershield but that dosen't seem to make a diffrence either.

Bumping, I am having the same issues; however, it is just even trying to open quicktime. I am now having issues with itunes due to this. I am not able to uninstall it either.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Onboard sound not detected

ive pulled out my Sound Blaster (after i have uninstalled all drivers and software) and enabled the onboard sound card in the BIOS. (set it to "Auto" as there is no "enabled" option)
but it isnt detected by Windows? why? i dont have any other soundcard installed nor any drivers, so where is it?

no there wasnt any problems with FarCry and the Sound Blaster...
anyway, the problem is, it isnt detected at all! there is no trace of it in the device manager, nor anywhere else. when i put in the MSI drivers CD the soundcard drivers arent even listed! just the other enabled stuff like USB and so on. but no sound card! weird!
now i have formated my C drive, reinstalled Win2k and there it is! the onboard soundcard. played farcry with it, performance was even worse. one night wasted, lesson learned: onboard sound is bad for you!

Is this still true or are there updated drivers for windows 8.1 now?
    Thanks.

There is a driver posted on MSI's website for 8.1.

  • Issue while installing fresh Windows XP on Tecra 9000

    I have a Tecra 9000 running Linux.
I would like to Install windows XP but the Installation CD I have loads drives and then locks up at windows is loading screen. I don't have any recovery or driver disks for this computer as I bought it used. and I don't know why it is having trouble.
The SN for the unit is Z1086914G ST900-0.
I have been reading forums on similar problems and think it might be the chipset driver for the HDD.
I cannot find a driver for this anywhere so I cant try that line of thought.
    Does anyone have any Ideas.

My goal was to install windows as a stand alone os on this laptop so that my child could use it to write his high school English papers on ms word. Although linux is installed I was perfectly willing to let windows reformat the disk and install itself. On the tecra 9000 you push f12 and chose boot from cd the windows xp installation program does its thing with hardware detection installs drivers and proceeds to windows start-up. At this point it should go to a splash screen and give me the choice to format the hard drive and install windows but it locks up and will not get to that step. I don't get a windows splash screen just the blue start-up screen. it doesn't give me any errors. so I don't know what is happening.

  • Tecra 9000: SD card reader will not work with XP

I have made some progress with this subject, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQs, although the main issue is that the memory address FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF is shared by both the SD card controller and the SD Card Memory Device. Unless a way to modify the registry can be found to resolve this memory conflict, the simple answer is that the SD card reader won't work under XP.
I think this would take some major surgery of the registry or re-writing of the drivers to move the memory address used by the SD card device, I am still working on this for now.
Can someone from Toshiba Support or Toshiba Marketing please explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a sticker with "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" on it, when Toshiba don't fully support XP on the 9000 series?

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hi David
Unfortunately, I dont think that you will find here someone from Toshiba marketing or other departments. This is ONLY a user to user forum.
What you say is simply NOT true.
The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all this Toshiba images from the Toshiba service partner. Therefore Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 was delivered with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and supports also Windows XP!
Of course there are different models with different hardware configuration but all supports WinXP.
I dont know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card but I assume you dont use the Toshiba image. Therefore you have installed your OS not correctly. Because youre a newbie you dont know that the whole Toshiba driver installation must be done in the right order and all the Microsoft QFEs must be also installed.
As you see you have to pay attention to many important things if you want to install the OS manually.
    Have a nice day

  • Wireless with Tecra 9000 is not working

Hi, I've a toshiba tecra 9000, in the last weeks I had problems with my windows xp, so I decided to install win 2000.
2000 is more stable, but I had a problem with the wireless card... I installed latest drivers downloaded from toshiba website... wireless card is installed with success, but when I start Client Manager there's no way to find my access point...
I've no signal and cannot find any network... can you help?
    thank you

Did the notebook connect to the AP with the installed XP???
Firstly please be sure that your Wlan card was enabled on the notebook in the right way.
The switch at the notebook side and the FN+F8 should be used to enable the WLan card.
Does the AP supports the same wireless standard as the installed minPCI WLan card. I mean the A. B or G standard.
The router and the card should support the same standard for properly coupling

  • Tecra 9000 - Modem and Sound Board

I have a Tecra 9000 that had a problem a cople of months ago.
The modem wasn't recognized any more....
Since the problem was not important I didn't take any actions.
But now it is the sound board that stopped working.
It isn't recognized by the OS any more.
What seems to be happening? Software or hardware problems?
    Best Regards
    Paulo

    Hello
Its not easy to say, what the problem is (software or hardware). First of all you can try to delete these two devices (modem, soundcard) from the Device Manager. After booting the OS should recognize the devices. Furthermore you can try to install the new driver for these devices. If this action doesnt help, you can try to reinstall your system with the Recovery CD.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!
    The End!

  • FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. What can be done about it?

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for the advice. It succeeded.
The steps I made was to make a disk copy of my original Windows XP disk using Disk Utilty. Then I renamed the disk copy into .iso. I copied the ISO file to my usb flash drive.
Than I started Parallels 7, created a new VM, selected the correct drive to install from (the usb flash drive) and volia, it worked.

  • Dual boot with Windows 7 and LINUX - Tecra A11 (PTSE1A-00L005)

    Hi,
I bought a new Tecra A11 Laptop which runs WIN7 Pro. I want to install LINUX also. That means, I want to run my laptop in dual boot Win7 Pro/LINUX (any distributor). Please tell me how to do that.
There are 5 partitions on the HDD:
    1. Active, Recovery partiton 1.46 Gb (no drive letter)
    2. Active Primary C: Boot 145.04 Gb (NTFS)
    3. Active Logical E: 78.13 Gb (NTFS)
    4. Active Logical F: 64.25 Gb (NTFS)
    5. Primary Partition 9.2 Gb (no drive letter, application unknown)
Hey, I need it badly, because I have admitted to a course of RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
    Please help me

    Hi
I may not be able to give You a step-by-step explanation but most distros today offer a possibility to co-exist with Windows.
During the installation the unused free space will be taken by Linux (with the consent of the user of course!!)
What exact setup is needed by You is impossible for anyone else to say, but I would suggest to make the space occupied by the F drive available for Linux.
You seem to have space enough for Windows and the Linux OS does not need much.
Some thoughts concerning your partition setup:
I would NOT touch 1,2 and 5 no matter what. They are your system and some system internal partitions (recovery environment and data) and would not be fun to lose.
    1. Active, Recovery partiton 1.46 Gb (no drive letter)
    2. Active Primary C: Boot 145.04 Gb (NTFS)
    3. Active Logical E: 78.13 Gb (NTFS)
    4. Active Logical F: 64.25 Gb (NTFS)
    5. Primary Partition 9.2 Gb (no drive letter, application unknown)
So pick a Distro (my suggestion Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, OpenSuse - Fedora will be the one closest related to RedHat) which will guide You through the steps to allocate space for Linux.
I would suggest however to remove the drive F in Windows so Linux does not start resizing all partitions.
I am sure that will work fine, but will just take time and the pretty unnecessary F drive will most surely be kept.
If You already have valuable data on your unit, make sure to back it up!! No software comes with warranties :)
Last but not least - make 100% sure to create a recovery set with the help of Toshiba Recovery media creator BEFORE you start installing Linux.
If something goes wrong You might want to have the possibility to put the unit back into factory state.
Good luck and keep asking if You need additional help!

  • Connecting iMac with Mac OS X Tiger to an HPC with Windows CE via modem

    Hi,
I have an iMac G3 DV 400MHZ with Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6 and a Compaq C140 HPC with Windows CE 1.0. I dont have the original serial cable for the device and therefore cant connect it to my iMac (like its Mac compatible anyway!) I want to connect it to my iMac via modems (no not ethernet modems the antique modems with the phone wires!) so I can transfer files to it. In case you have never heard of an HPC or Windows CE (which is real similar to Windows 95) lets pretend Im trying to connect a Windows 95 PC to my iMac for file transfer and see if that works.
    Thanks

Try posting this under hardware section, you will get more response there. I doubt anyone here can help with that.
