Telemetry Application.

Please I need to develop a Telemetry application with oracle forms. I'm only very good with oracle SQL and PL/SQL, not oracle forms.
please how do I go about it? Oracle Forms Tutor are very rare in my country. are there any books for beginners?
Thank you

  • Event 701 - The Application Impact Telemetry (AIT) Agent is not running because AIT is disabled.

In a survey of several Windows 7 systems, in the Application-Experience Program-Telemetry log, I found daily instances of Information Event 701 "The Application Impact Telemetry (AIT) Agent is not running because AIT is disabled".  The trigger
for this event is execution of the built-in scheduled task to run Aitagent.exe daily at 02:30.
The message "AIT is disabled" is puzzling to me.
I checked participation in the Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) on the idea that a setting to disable participation could translate into "AIT is disabled", but CEIP is set to Yes (participate).
I checked Windows Error Reporting settings - they are set to "Automatically check for solutions and send additional report data, if needed"
I checked the REG_DWORD value AITEnable in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\AIT is set to 0x1, which should indicate that AIT is enabled.
I would appreciate if anyone can explain where/how AIT is disabled.
    Thanks

Thank you for suggesting installing the
Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.6 (ACT).  This is quite an enterprise-level program (the Step-by-Step guide says "We
recommend that you collect your data from approximately 10,000
    computers")!
Anyway, installing the ACT and sending an empty data set to Microsoft worked, but did not eliminate Event 701 when the scheduled task to run AitAgent.exe executed
(as scheduled or manually) or when AitAgent.exe was run from an Administrator command prompt.
Since the scheduled task to run AitAgent.exe is part of a out-of-box installation of Windows 7, and its description states "Aggregates and uploads Application Telemetry
information if opted-in to the Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program", it would seem that it would run without error, at least when participation in the CEIP is enabled.

  • Advanced telemetry for iOS applications (IPA)

Scout shows a sad face with release IPA build with advanced telemetry enabled (with -sampler option), stating that its a debug swf.
However, since I am making a release build (by using the option Export Release Build), is should not be a debug swf.
It works fine with web-application. Does enabling telemetry always make a debug swf for IPA files (iOS applications) ?

The --sampler option doesn't make it a debug swf - the ActionScript sampler has a slightly higher overhead on iOS than for other platforms (you shouldn't leave it on when you deploy your app), but it's not as high an overhead as being a debug swf.
As far as I'm aware, Flash Player/AIR will only tell Scout that it's a debug swf if it encounters the EnableDebugger swf tag. It's possible that the latest version of AIR is reporting this incorrectly, but I'd double check to be on the safe side (you can use SWFInvestigator to take a look inside your swf). If you're sure that you packaged your IPA correctly, then I wouldn't worry about this message.

  • Can't view or edit Application Insights webtests in the new Azure Portal

I'm in the process of setting up Application Insights for an Azure Cloud Services Web Role.  Things have been looking good so far - I've enabled App Insights telemetry to the VS2013 solution, configured correctly and am getting usage/monitoring data
displayed in the NEW Azure Portal (portal.azure.com).
I set up my first "webtest" on Friday to monitor the site availability from three separate locations around the world and alert when down; however, logging in today shows my webtests graph as blank, i.e. contains no data.
Usually, when this is the case, there's a link provided to create new webtests, but since I've already added a webtest, this is no longer the case.  So I can neither view or edit my existing webtest, nor create a new one.  I have tried clearing
my browser private data and even use a different browser but the result is the same.  I have also tried deleting and recreating the Application Insights instance with the same name but the result is the same (although the data from the deleted instance
remains...).  My only recourse is to create a new, differently named Application Insights instance and set it all up again, losing the telemetry collected so far.  This isn't such a big deal during the prototype stage, but when this goes into effect
on the production site, deleting and starting from scratch whenever there's a webtests problem isn't going to be an option.
How do I view/edit/clear existing webtests?  Is it possible to do this through Azure PowerShell or the Azure SDK?

  • Universal App: no Application Insights for Windows Phone 8.1 project

I just created an universal app and installed the Application Insights Tools for Visual Studio extension. It was easy to add AI for the Windows 8.1 project. Unfortunately there is no "Add Application Insights Telemetry to project..." command for
the Windows Phone 8.1 project. Am I missing something? What might be wrong?
    Thanks
    Hans-Peter

Officially yes, but you should be able to get it to work:
    • Add Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.WindowsPhone package to the “Phone” project.
    • Add Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.WindowsStore package to the “Store” project.
    • Add <InstrumentationKey/> element to the ApplicationInsights.config files in both Phone and Store projects with the actual instrumentation key of your app. You need to decide whether you want to use single key for both windows and phone apps or separate
    keys.
    • Create a new instance of the TelemetryContext class in the App class in the Shared project and store it in a public static variable for use by the rest of the code in the universal project.

  • Telemetry Agent silent operation

    Hi,
We are planning to use the Telemetry agent on workstations running either Windows XP and Windows 7 and running versions of Office ranging from office 2003 to Office 2010.
Will the agent pop-up information to the screen when incompatibility are found?  Or will this discovery process be running silently? We want the users not to see anything on their screen when incompatibility is found.
    Thanks for your help
    Jean D.

Check the following steps on How telemetry data is collected
Users log on and trigger the Telemetry Agent scheduled task
Telemetry Agents send data to the shared folder
Telemetry data is processed to the database
IT Pros access telemetry data by using Telemetry Dashboard
Office Telemetry is new for Office 2013, so it’s not built into Office 2003, Office 2007, and Office 2010. For those clients, you deploy an agent that collects information about the installed add-ins and the most recently used documents. You won’t get application
event data for these clients like you do with Office 2013 clients, but you'll get inventory and usage data that helps you discover what is being used and likely important to your business.

  • Telemetry & Zone Clusters

Does anyone know a good source for configuring cluster telemetry, specifically with zone clusters? I can't find much in the cluster documentation or by searching oracle's website. The sctelemetry man page wasn't very useful. The sun cluster essentials book provides a brief example but not with zone clusters.
I'm wanting to use this feature to monitor memory/cpu usage in my various zone clusters. In our environment, we will have a few three node clusters with all applications running inside zone clusters with the "active" cluster nodes being staggered across the 3 nodes.
Lastly is telemetry really worth the hassle? We are also deploying Ops Center (which I don't really know its capabilities yet) I briefly used an older version of XVM Ops Center at my last gig but only as a provisioning tool. So with Ops Center and the myriad of dtrace tools available, is telemetry worth messing with?
    Thx for any info,
    Chuck

That's correct. I checked with the features author and telemetry pre-dates the introduction of zone clusters. So "SC only can do cpu.idle monitoring for a zone itself. Anything below that are not monitored, include RG/RS configured inside zones. " is what I got back.

  • Enable detailed telemetry selected in Flash CC but Scout still says to compile with the -advanced-telemetry option

Firstly, hitting control-enter to test a game in Flash CC (latest version) does not activate anything at all in scout. If I compile the swf and double click the swf from windows explorer, the data will show up, but I can't see any advanced telemetry - Even if I compile the swf with 'enable detailed telemetry' selected.
I can never see advanced telemetry no matter what I have tried. When testing a movie from within flash CC, scout never recognizes that a swf is even loaded, however I can get basic telemetry from with a web browser, or when running the application as standalone from explorer.

Once you go to publish settings and enable "Enable Detailed Telemetry" option and then go to the AIR for IOS Settings dialog, you should see the "Telemetry Options" section as shown below. Are you not seeing this? what is the type of document that you are creating?

  • How do you profile AIR mobile applications?

I'm used to using FlashBuilder to profile an application, take memory snapshots, and find lingering objects from memory leaks.  With AIR mobile, the best I can do is run Adobe Scout to verify that my application has a memory leak.  The list of all ActionScript objects is massive- it's not useful for tracking down a leak.  Is there a way to use the standard FlashBuilder profiler, or another way to track down a memory leak using Adobe Scout?
    Thanks!

Yes, I've enabled telemetry.  I use object pooling and nulling, but not in the instance that's causing the exception.  It's a simple block that involves a few Parsley commands and an ANE.  I really need the profiler to figure out what part is leaking, and I have to test it on a device because of the ANE.

  • How can I acquire signals in telemetry way?

    Dear all,
There are three or four force sensors mounting in a rotating axis, and they need power supply (11-30V, 10mA) as well. Is there any facility in NI can accomplish this project? Or do you have a similar signal acquisition telemetry system in project?
    1. get 3 or 4 channels of voltage/current signals from force sensors in  the rotating axis.
    2. provide power for components in the rotating axis.
    3. provide driving signals to components in rotating axis.
    Thank you very much!

    Dear Jinghang,
I would have thought our cRIO products would be able to make up the main body of your system.
Deterministic controller and FPGA technology perfect for control applications. Furthermore, there are plenty of high sepc "cseries" modules, each with inbuild converters, amplifiers, signal conditioning and font end connectivity.
For example, we have modules built specifically for accelerometer/force sensors. For example, the following module has inbuilt IEPE signal conditioning and very high performance converters.

  • Telemetry is paralyzed after a few minutes

I have an application for tablet made with Flex (Flash Builder 4.7) and I have enabled the flag to perform telemetry by Scout CC.
The problem is that after 15 or 20 minutes freezes and no more data is received, although the telemetry has not stopped (The red button is still active).
    Adobe scout configurations are:
-limit Each session file to: 100GB
    -limit Memmory usage to 3GB
    What can be the problem?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • What are the steps involved in upgrading a lookout 4.0 application to the newest version 6.2??

I have an application of Lookout 4.0 running and the customer has asked for a spare HMI. What is the easiest way to get them what they are asking for? Can I buy a PC with NT loaded and purchase another runtime application of the Lookout runtime software? Is it buying another PC with XP/Vista and upgrading the development software as well as the application and the runtime software. What would be the best?

Download the latest evaluation of Lookout and test it the process files.
This will let you you know what to expect.

  • Loading a most stubborn application at startup

    Hi all,
I received quite a bit of help on irc, however I have nonetheless been unsuccessful in making this work.  Essentially I have written some software that manages various usb devices as well as a script that runs the application and then logs the output from stdout and stderr.  Running this application from the cli after logging in works great.  Attempting to run the application during boot however does not work (it segfaults).
I have tried many things: writing a bash script and running it from rc.d (via daemons in rc.conf), attempting to run the script directly from rc.local, attempting to run the script using screen from rc.local, performing various modifications to my /etc/inittab such as using this command as described in the wiki x:5:once:/bin/su - -- PREFERRED_USER -l -c 'EXECUTE SCRIPT HERE', etc.
None of these worked.  I figured that, before I quit entirely, I might ask the community to see if anyone else had any ideas.  Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Why? That's probably the first issue to track down. Is this "software" a program that you wrote? What language?
Long running processes are normally written as daemons. Wikipedia has an overview of the usual approach at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daemon_%28 … of_daemons
Yes this is an application that I wrote in C.  I tried daemonizing it and that did not work, which I am guessing somehow relates to the fact that it doesnt like being run as a background prcoess.  Beyond using libusb, the only other "libraries" used are those provided standard with C (i.e. string.h, stdio.h, stdlib.h).  Also, when I did daemonize it, if I called /etc/rc.d/app start it would work just fine, just not during boot, however.  I will do some reading though, thanks!
    I agree with lives2evil,
This will get a lot more visibility from the coders over at Programming.  Moving....
I would wager real money you are using dereferencing  null pointer some place.  Maybe some function that fails because the USB in question is not yet set in time for your script?  Set up some logging and pour a bunch of telemetry out to the debug log to see what is happening.
You might want to put the source up on pastebin and provide a link.
I doubt it is a null pointer (I do quite a bit of error checking for this).  My guess, though, is that you are right about the USB.  There must be something that libusb needs -- an environment variable or something.
If I try putting in a long delay (30+ seconds) in the python (or bash) script that runs my application, although it pauses successfully, the application called still fails.  Furthermore, if I immediately log in and run the script manually, everything works fine.  This would lead me to believe that there is perhaps a problem detaching the kernel USB driver? Im not sure what else could be different before and after logging in.
    Thanks for the help!

  • SSO to partner application running under IIS

    Hi,
We have a complete set-up for 9iAS Release2 where some applications are running. In parallell we have an application running under IIS, and would now like to enable the IIS application as a partner application to 9iAS letting the 9iAS SSO server handle the authentication.
In the documentation of Oracle Proxy Plug-in I read that this proxy plug-in can be used to proxy requests from IIS to Oracle http server (OHS) and also in this way enable SSO.
My question is if this can be done only for applications running under 9iAS but having IIS as web server, or if it is also possible like in our case to enable SSO via the proxy plug-in to applications runnind under IIS?
If this is not supported is the only available solution to use the SSO SDK in my IIS application?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rikard

    Here's a DIY answer.
See Metalink Note 269820.1 which shows you how to use Perl to overwrite the host name in the HTTP header and remove the port number.

  • Custom error message in SAP application log

Is there a way to add a custom error message to the SAP application log without passing the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4 and the Message class and number.
We want to pass a custom message from the BAPIRET2-MESSAGE without giving it a Message class and number.  The reason for this is that  we are using class based exceptions instead of the traditional message class with errors.  When we catch the class based exception, we take the error text of the exception and put in in the BAPIRET2-message and set the BAPIRET2-TYPE as 'E'.  Now we want to add this to the SAP application log.
The call to 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD' takes a structure BAL_S_MSG which is just like BAPIRET2.  However this function builds the entry to the application log use the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4.  There is no provision to pass in the BAPIRET2 message.
    Add message to application log
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD'
        EXPORTING
         i_log_handle              = app_log_handle
         i_s_msg                   = log_message

    Hi Jay,
    Did you see <b>BAL_LOG_EXCEPTION_ADD</b>?
This FM is represented by the structure <b>BAL_S_EXC</b>. This can have various versions as described below:
    <b>Data of BAL_S_EXC Structure  /     Use</b>
<b>EXCEPTION</b>  /                              Exception class from which an exception text
is added to the log. This field must be filled.
    <b>MSGTY</b>  /                                     Message type (MSGTY) of a T100 message.
This field must also be filled for exceptions.
    <b>PROBCLASS,
    DETLEVEL,
ALSORT, TIME_STMP</b>  /                Message or exception attributes, such as
                                                        problem class (PROBCLASS, for
example, "very important"), level of detail
(DETLEVEL, from 1 to 9), sort criterion
                                                        (ALSORT, unrestricted) and timestamp
(TIME_STMP). These fields can be displayed
                                                        in the log (except TIME_STMP).
<b>MSG_COUNT</b>   /                            This attribute is not used for exceptions.
