Template to open multiple service requests

I have the following requirement to achieve with service manager...
I wish to open a new Service request or incident from HR for a new starter,
This SR or incident then needs to open templeted sub activites of build machine, assign phone extension, create AD account etc etc
These sub-tasks can then be assigned to other staff and closed off seperately but all link to the master...
How can I achieve this?
***Don't forget to mark helpful or answer***

This is, in fact, the entire purpose of the template, to allow you to create complex work items like Service Requests, with all component activities as they are.
The service request is a linear progression, i.e. only one activity will run at a time, and as soon as it completes, the next activity will start. this behavior is by design. if you have multiple tasks that need to run concurrently, consider using a Parallel
Activity container. the PA container will start, and all activities within the PA container will start, and as soon as all activities inside the PA are completed, then the PA will complete, and the next activity inside the Service Request will start.
Views are not updated unless you click away and back, or manually refresh the view. this might be why you don't see them.

I am trying to open a service request and the site does not work with ANY browser. I get the page https://getsupport.apple.com/GetParts.action which says "Send in for service. We just need a little more information." The continue button does not work. I've seen this problem before trying to file support requests. It's as if Apple simply does not want you to create requests.

I just went through several screens and had no problems.  Try clearing your browser's cache and/or history.

  • Problem in opening 'Find Service Request' and 'Create Service Request' HTML forms

    Hi,
I  am working on creating some date for EBS Service, and I am unable to open 'Find Service Request' and 'Create Service Request' HTML forms.
I keep getting the error message :
Oracle error - 20001: ORA-20001: APP-FND-02902: Multi-Org profile option is required. Please set either MO: Security Profile or MO: Operating Unit profile option. has been detected in MO_GLOBAL_INIT.
I have min knowledge of EBS set up and configuration. We just use EBS as a source system for our ETLs.  Please suggest any workaround to get resolve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Kishore

Navigate to System Administrator responsibility > Profile > System. Search for the profile MO: Operating Unit and under responsibility field, put in the responsibility name you are using for creating the service request, click OK and enter the desired operating unit value in the next window. It pulls up all operating units defined and you can chose the desired one.
    Thanks

  • Is there a way to open an Service Request as a result of an order being shipped from OM?

Business requirement is when a new system shipment goes out to a customer we want to automatically generate an SR in Service for the installation of the system.  Ideally this SR would also have an installation task associated with it.
Are there any standard ways or maybe custom hooks where OM can talk to Teleservice to achieve this?
    thanks

'''Here is an update to my former response.'''
Here is a safe way to look at an email which you think is suspicious:
    * right click on the message and select 'Save As'
    * the file name will be the email subject followed by an extension of .eml
    * store it in a folder you can find easily, such as your Documents
    * using your file explorer, right click on the file name and open it with Notepad or a similar text editor (NOT Thunderbird!)
    * even though the format is not easy to read, you should be able to see who sent it to you, and also read the message text.
Since you are looking at the message in a text editor, there is no chance a link can activate something bad. I have used this method many times, and have found several spoofs of email names of my friends.

  • Inbox Search - status for service request not updated

    Hi,
In inbox search, the status change for a service request does not reflect until the user log offs or opens the service request in edit mode. PFB the steps followed. (Two users are monitoring the service request but is being processed only by one)
Web UI window 1(User 1): I open the inbox search result page. Service requests are displayed with the status field
Web UI window 2(User 2): In a separate window, the service request is approved by changing the status of the service request to Approved.
Web UI window 1(User 1): In the inbox result screen, i click on search for the same search criteria, but still the old status of the service request(updated in window 2) is displayed.
    Observation:
    1. If I open the service request, the service request still has the old status. If i click on edit, the new status is displayed. If i click on Back button (without clicking on edit), the new status is refelected for the service request in the inbox result page now.
    2. If I log off and again open the inbox result, the new status of the service request is reflected.
    3. The status of the service request is updated in the database immediately user 2 changes the status.
There is no enhancement done for the inbox search. The behavior is for standard inbox result.
Please provide any pointers to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Radhika

    Radhika,
This is standard behavior in the SAP inbox. The reason is that SAP buffers search results in the Inbox in order to improve performance. So even though you hit "search" again, SAP does not update the search results because this search has already been executed in this session. Clicking "End" or logging off refreshes the buffer.
SAP released a note to update the "Responsible Employee" in the Inbox without requiring the user to log off. You can see their explanation and the solution here:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1465966
If you want to enable inbox refresh every time a search is executed, you will probably have to do custom coding. My guess is that you may be able to leverage the CRM_IC_INBOX_BADI. Let me know if this much info is enough or if you want further details on how to technically achieve this.

  • SCSM 2012 R2 Portal - Publishing Service Request and Change Request.

    Dears,
Sorry for this questions, it is very basic.
I want links on how to create below things:
Create Cataloge about Services we provide such: Create VM, Delete VM, Create User and Mailbox, Add user to group
How to publish this request to Portal
Create Change request approval flow such: approve creating user and mailbox
How to publish above change request
    Thanks

In addition to Thomas and regarding your assumption "I am not sure if the books help on this points":
    In the
Microsoft System Center 2012 Cookbook in the chapter 5 starting on page 148 the detailed steps "how to create a request offering for a new user request" are described.
Each recipe in this chapter describes how to setup a request offering with all related components to get this done.
The recipes you need in this chapter are:
Creating Service Request templates, page 148
Creating Service Request activities, page 151
Creating Service Offering categories, page 157
Creating Service Catalog Request offerings, page 159
Creating Service Catalog Service offerings, page 167
Publishing Service offerings and Request offerings, page 176
Working with Service Requests in the portal, page 183
Creating Service Request notifications, page 187
There is only one minor mistake in this chapter on page 153:
    "Unanimous (only one reviewer
needs to approve)" -> it must be "Unanimous
    (all reviewers
    must approve)"
I am pretty sure the recipes will work because I wrote the chapter. And sorry for the mistake on page 153! ;-)

  • Activity Templates inside Service Request Templates

I have run into a problem and I was hoping there is an easy solution.
I have built Activity Templates for Access Requests, one template per application.
Then I have Service Requests for per Job Code, which include up to 20 of those Activity Templates.
I did it this way specifically so if an Application Access process changed, I could just edit the Activity Template for that Application, and all the Service Requests that use that template would update as well.... or so you would think.
I just had to change some, and my service request is still showing the old templates, not the esits I did. I waited over an hour. Is this a workflow problem, or a functionality problem? If the Service Request Template saves when created instead of pullign
the activity templates each time its opened, it defeats my purpose of trying to do this modularly. This also makes absolutely no sense to me either, if that is in effect how it works.
What that will mean is I will have to edit every service request that uses a specific activity, instead of just that activity template.

Activity templates do not cascade. When you add an activity template to a Service Request, SCSM creates a copy of the activity template _inside_ the SR template. That's where they diverge.
Any further changes to the original activity template will not be replicated to any SRs that contain that activity.
I'm sorry to say that's the way SCSM's template management was implemented.

  • Wish to create an Installation Service Request for Field Service with Multiple S/N

We are using Oracle 12.1.3 with Teleservice, Field Service and Installed Base. We ship multiple Serial Numbers in a given order then need to dispatch our Field Service technicians in order to install them at the customers locations. I am having a hard time thinking or figuring out the best way to record this in Oracle EBS. Using a Service Request is difficult as there is not a way to list multiple Serial Numbers that we are aware of. Any help or suggestions would be very welcomed.
    Thanks
    Jesse

You are not able to add user input while working "My Activities" or "My Requests" in the portal.  They would have to use the Console, and then in the SR they would be able to update the User Input if that is where you wanted to store it.  I would
create your own Activity Class (Inherit from Manual Activity) and add the fields for what you want, IP, Hostname etc.. then on the portal when the user request the vm map those values to that activity which is assigned to your network team. when they open
their activity in the console they can add the value for ip.  There are many ways you can do this. Which way do you think your team will be most likely to follow.

  • Service Request template with status resolved

    Hi all,
There is a way to create a Service Request template with the status "resolved"? We would like to use this kind of template in a location when we don't care about  the issues, but we need to know their number. So we just have to open a new
SR, apply that template and close it automatically.
    Thank you,
    Eugen

    Hi,
If no Activities related to your Service Request it will completed automatically, If actitivities related than you must create a workflow to complete the activities first, then your SR will be completed.

  • Can I have multiple Serialized items on a service request for an "Installation" type of SR?

Can I have multiple Serialized items on a service request for an "Installation" type of SR? We normally ship our machines out in batches of 6, 12, and 20 with installation by our Field Servie Techs. They would like to be able to open a single SR for the installation but would want to "Tag" the Machines for it. I am not sure the posibility of this?
    Thanks

  • Service Requests Open 5 days?/Service Requests Open and Closed Today

    Help!
How would I determine service requests open greater then 5 days, I use the # of Open SR's but cannot seem to get a date to work.
Also what is the best way to count the SR's open and closed on the same day?
    Thanks in advance.

You need to include a TIMESTAMPDIFF function in your filter... something to the effect of
    TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_DAY,"Service Request"."Create Date",CURRENT_DATE) > 5
    Double check the column reference.

  • Report to show Service Requests that are open on a day selected by the user

Dunno if I'm being thick, but I can't see how to do this in a report/dashboard...
The user selects a day and the report pulls back all the Service Requests that were open on that day using the following logic...
Service Request Opened Date <= Selected date & Service Request Closed Date >= Selected date
    Is this possible?

You can do this with a report or a dashboard.
For a report, create a report your subject ares, like Service Request. In Step 3, Create a prompt on your date and choose Column Filter Prompt. Give the prompt a caption ("Enter/Choose Date" for example). Choose the date field for the Filter on Column. Determine how you want the users to select the value and hit OK. My experience has been that you need to let users type in the date, as opposed to choosing from a drop-down list, because of the volume of data and performance reasons, but test it to determine what works best for your needs.
For a dashboard, you would need to create a dashboard prompt for your dashboard report. You do this by creating a new report on your intended subject area, i.e. Service Request. Instead of creating the report as you normally do, you need to click on the Create Dashboard Prompt button at the top left, just below the Oracle logo. Choose the right reporting area, then complete the prompt details. Don't forget to allow for the prompt in your report.
I always recommend that you consider purchasing a great book on reporting, written by Mike Lairson. It is an excellent resource for nearly all of your reporting questions. You can find it on amazon.com.
