Template Without Spaces

Hi there,
Thanks in advance for help on this - its simple yet I can't
seem to do this either on design on coding mode.
Usually when do a template on Dreamweaver, it produces a
small space on the upper, bottom and left sides. Hence, you can see
the background around the whole table/layer. E.g. cnn.com (left
side)
I do not want this - e.g. soccernet.com - you only see the
background on the right side.
How is this done? Thanks.

Link to an external stylesheet (using DW's CSS editor), or
embed a
stylesheet in your code (between <head> and
</head>) with the following
style in it (embedded shown for cut-n-paste convenience)
(assuming you want
zero margins) -

(when the value is zero, units are not required)
you could also try
body { margin: 0 0 0 0; padding:0; }
or
body { margin: 0; padding:0; }
as a shorthand method.
This will take care of the margins in IE4+ and all modern
browsers.

How can I load pics from camera without spaces in the filename (PSE5)

Hello,
I want to load the pics from my Fuji Camera with my newly acquired Photoshop Elements 5 into its database as simple as possible. I get offered several ways of renaming the pics during the import. Unfortunately the date formats offered (for folder or filenames) do *all* include space characters " ", which I do not like, because this caused me earlier a lot of trouble when putting the pics online, for example (%20 in the path name). Another reason is my existing photo collection since 2001, which has no spaces in the filenames as well.
Example for the filename:
PSE offers: "jj mm dd 001.jpg"
I want : "jjmmdd_001.jpg" or at least "jj_mm_dd_001.jpg" or anything similar.
For folder names the same thing appears.
Is there a way to do that without typing each date without spaces by hand?
How?
I would like to have the photo load process as simple as possible, without having to remove the spaces with a separate rename tool.
Any ideas?
I searched for quite a while and I am surprised that nobody else seems to have this problem. Am I just too picky?

Ken, again thanks for your writing. IMHO, if PSE had space free filenames, this would lead to a very simple and fast workflow with PSE alone (!) like this: 1. Just connect my camera (Fuji F31fd) with the USB cable (no fiddling with the memory card in and out each time) 2. Transferring all (or selected) pics into PSE, one folder per day, named yymmdd_optional_theme_description. 3. Delete all non-optimal pics after viewing in PSE. Then tagging, pic-improving where needed .... 4. As backup, burn/move to CD from time to time and copy/move to an external HDD for double security. Its just the spaces in the filenames which prevents me from using this. I want to have the workflow well defined and fixed before I start using PSE5. But it seems there is no workaround (so far). Maybe I should just take the "trouble" and rename every folder manually within PSE. No problem with one or 2 days, and still not a very big problem after a 3 week holiday. But still all single photo files will have the spaces in them. If I want to avoid that, I really have to bring them to the PC without PSE, rename them as batch with Irfan or any other tool, and then import them to PSE, as you wrote. From my point of view, a lot of unnecessary hassle, especially if I have the simple workflow from above in mind. Many people seem not to be disturbed by the spaces in the filenames. I wonder if I overrate the disadvantage of it. Your opinion(s)? I am not sure what you mean with <Perhaps Ulrich would be well served if he created a collection of newly acquired pictures with a common theme.> In fact I want to come away from theme centered archiving the photos, which is what I did so far. When you open a template it is a copy of the template you get. You can write, add, delete or change what ever you like. It will not change anything in the template. When you save you have a document, not the template.

Try just Opening the Word .doc from within Pages and see if that gets closer to what you want, then copy the chapter you want from the Pages version.

Can we create a Portal without Spaces using JDeveloper ?

Is it possible to have Portal without Webcenter Spaces (collaboration) component for WebCenter but I do require a portal with the Administration functionality found in the WL_Spaces managed Server. For instance, securing pages/portlets, LDAP/OAM integration, exchange integration, UCM integration, configuration with WSRP portlets on WL_Portlet and analytics configuration with WL_Utiltiies. Can we create a new portal (one without Spaces) using JDeveloper and create a managed server?

Yes you can!
WebCenter is more than just WebCenter Spaces.
WebCenter Spaces is just one part, another part is the WebCenter Portal which is an application in JDeveloper. You might want to read my tutorial: http://www.yonaweb.be/webcenter_tutorial/introduction it explains how to build such a portal.
All the connections you make in the enterprise manager, can also be configured in JDeveloper so you can also use UCM, mail server, portlets and so on in WebCenter Portal application in JDeveloper.
It is common practice to create a new managed server on your domain to deploy the custom WebCenter Portal application. You can also manage the connections to the different service from within the enterprise manager, just as you do with spaces.

PSE7: Naming scheme for import without spaces?

Hi all,
just upgraded to photoshop elements 7 (from 2 :-) ) and have a question on the naming schemes available to put imported photos into subfolders named by date: The offered options in the drop down (Photo downloader - Create Subfolders by date) all include spaces between year month and day values. Up to now my format was yyyymmdd (all without spaces) and the newly created folders would not sort properly anymore.
So is there a way to have PSE7 create subfolders based on the date WITHOUT the spaces. I had a trial version of Lightroom 2 and there it is possible, however Lightroom is much to "big" for my needs.

If you are referring to RDS CAL, the answer is yes, you can build a template
without having an RDS CAL. For on-premises you would still need rights to install Windows Server as a guest, but to build the template you do not need an RDS CAL because this use is for administrative purposes.
In the case of building the image on an Azure Virtual Machine you do not need Windows Server license since that is included in the pricing for the Virtual Machine. As mentioned above you do not need an RDS CAL since you are only building a template
image which is administrative use.
As always please review the appropriate documents that apply to your situation such as the Online Service Terms (OST), Product Use Rights (PUR), license agreement(s), etc. for precise details.

Wanted to create appraisal template without final appraisal column FAPP

We have a requirement to create template not for appraisal. Therefore I do not want to have final appraisal column selected.
However when I was creating category n save, I was getting error " select at least column obj0,fapp or papp".
Is there any way I can create template without final appraisal? Appreciate your thoughts.

It seems like you have created an Objective setting template. If you don't want final appraisals, you can just select 'OBJ0' column and uncheck FAPP & PAPP columns. I hope this helps in solving your issue.

Is there a way to start-up logic from a template without logic always asking where i want to save my song. I find this very annoying because i don't always have the 'need' to save everything i do.

I don't think there is a way to do this.
This was Apples way of making sure no "new" user ever had a situation where audio recorded in a song wasn't being placed in the proper song folder. In theory, its a smart approach... by getting a "save as" immediately, the proper folder structure for a song is immediately created, thereby eliminating any problems that might occur.
Unfortunately, they didn't take into account that we all might not be crating a new song every time we launch Logic.
I've just gotten used to clicking the "Don't save" button, but yea, its a bit of a drag...

Not sure what I did but it never asks me that anymore... it just gets started and the song is called untitled until i do a save as somewhere along the line. I didn't go into preferences but I think I recall just hitting cancel when that dialog box opened up and the box just went away and I was at the arrange window... maybe after doing that Logic just defaulted to that... I don't know ... I can't even remember if it was after the first time i cancelled or if it was just somewhere along the way... but i just hit cancel or whatever it was on that dialog box and Logic didnt close it just got rid of that dialog box and I went to work on my new project....give it a try ... let me know if it defaults that way after ...perhaps somewhere there is a preference but I don't know where ...

I am using CQ 5.4. and I want to refactor existing code of a project. Part of that involves renaming existing templates. Renaming one locally, I saw that existing pages break because they can't 'find' the old template. is there a way to rename a template without breaking those pages?

I'm not aware of any GUI tool that does this in Leopard. you can change the names of the share points by hand by editing the appropriate plists located in /private/var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/config/SharePoints/ but that's a pretty horrible way to do it and is the opposite of user friendly. don't know any other way though.
