Terminated employees, uncertain end dating

I dont have much knowledge in HRMS. Could you please help me on my issue.
In our test instance for one employee, we have two assignments one is 'Active Assignment' and other one is 'Terminate assignment'.
Assignment effective start date effective end date Primary assignment type
Terminate assignment 13-FEB-12 30-APR-12 N E
Active Assignment 13-FEB-12 31-DEC-12 Y E
But in production some modifications happened 'Terminate Assignment' primary flag updated to 'Y' . In our test instance this 'Terminate Assignment' form is greyed out. Not able to change the primary flag in miscellaneous tab But how it is happened in production not sure. If you know please let us know how and/or where we can change the 'Terminate Assignment' primary flag.

Hi Prashanth,
Once the Person is terminated, you cannot navigate to the Assignment form beyond the Final process date.
Thre dates on the termination form are important -
ATD - Actual term date
LSPD - Last std process date
FC - Final close
If all the three are the same, then you cannot navigate to the assignment form after the termination date.
If the LSPD or FC are different(always greater) to ATD, then you can navigate to the assignment form only till the FC date, but cannot amend any data, as you've already terminated the employee. All you can do is make some element entries and process payroll till FC date.
For your case, why can't you reverse terminate the employee, make all the changes as you need and then terminate the employee as of the correct date ?

    I have terminated an employee and his status is shown as Ex -Employee but his assignment is not being end dated till the termination date. I dont know what is the problem? in fact is is even letting me open assignment form after the termination date where as in normal cases it does not even allows us to go to assignment form after the termination date.

    There are 3 important dates on the Terminations form -
    Actual Termination date(ATD)
    Last Standard Process date (LSPD)
    Final Process date(FD)
    If all the above are the same, then you cannot navigate into the Assignment form, after the termination date. i.e. the assignment is end-dated as of the termination date.
    If the LSPD or FD are later than the ATD, then you can still navigate into the assignment form as the assignment is still active with a termination status.
    There is a special use-case, for the above scenario. Consider this -
    You have terminated an employee as of 15-Apr-2012 (ATD). Now you can process the employee payroll only till 15-Apr-2012, if all the above dates are the same.
    Now, if you want to process some elements like Termination-pay or Leave-salary, which you want to calculate at the month-end, then you can give the LSPD as 30-Apr-2012. And at the month-end you can process the payroll.
    Say, you want to process an element called commission or Extra-pay for a terminated employee, 6 months after his termination, then the Final process date can be changed to the month you want to process the element(If you see closely, the FD is the only date which can be amended on the termination form).
    So depending on your use-case, you need to enter the dates.

    Hi Everyone,
    We are using HR and OTL in an environment with very high employee turn over. Currently we need to create a user and assign an OTL responsibility so that employee timecards approve in OTL. At the moment, we do it manually (ie HR ask the sysadmin to create a user and add the resp).
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might automate this? Ie when an employee is created in HR, a user is created and the OTL responsibility is added. Additionally, how can we have the user and resp end-dated when the employee is terminated?

  • Employee Termination after payperiod end dates and before end of the year

    I need a best possible senario at my current client one of the employees is going to be terminated *(resignation)on  Dec 29th 2010 and his last payroll for the year runs up to Dec 26th 2010 (12/13/2010-12/26/2010: Check Date 12/24/2010), and there will be a reminder of three more days because his termination on 12/29/2010. But the business is looking to not to carry his additional three working pay days for the next year and W2 and wanted to pay in regular check that will be 12/24/2010 as an additional payment.
    We dont do OCWB checks...can you please give us a best possible senario in SAP will be greatly appreciated

    A few things could be done here:
    1. Put the employee on unpaid leave for the extra three days and pay them out using a one time payment in the last pay period of the year.
    2. Terminate them at the end of the pay period and pay them out with a one time payment in the last pay period of the year.
    It really depends on a few factors.  You have to think about how end dating the employee on a different date them the actual termination date will effect other configuration/customization you my have and should the employee really get a year end tax form next year for those 3 days.

  • Unable to view end dated supplier (Employees set up as supplier)

    Hello All,
    Recently we upgraded from ORacle R12.1.2 to R12.1.3, after this we are not able to query for an supplier which is end dated earlier. The end dated suppliers are actually employees set as suppliers for the sake of iExpense.
    If anyone has encountered this error before kinldy let me know of how to handle this.

  • User end dated automatically

    Hi,
    We are using 11.5.9. We noticed, for one of the active employee, user account is end dated automatically. I checked the record histroy of it, it shows,
    "Updated By : <shows this employee's manager user account>".
    "System Logon: Unknown" and
    "Terminal : Concurrent".
    I checked the responsibilities owned by this employee's manager who have only self service responsibilities. There is neither concurrent program nor function related to sysadmin user define screen is attached.
    This issue occured to only one employee. How it would have happened?

  • General Doubt while Terminating Employees

    I am creating a program where we have to terminate all the employees whose contract end date is todays date.
    i am using below mentioned APIs for the same.
    HR_EX_EMPLOYEE_API.ACTUAL_TERMINATION_EMP
    HR_EX_EMPLOYEE_API.UPDATE_TERM_DETAILS_EMP
    But when I terminate the employee, its creating 3( 1 original and 2 new) records in per_all_assignments_f
    -- the assignment record got end dated on the given date , this is original record
    --- One with the new assignment id, effective_start_date from the next date to entered termination date to effective_end_date AND with assignment_type as 'B', i think this is normal behavior...
    -- But, one more records has got created with same assignment_id as that of terminated assginment_id, effective_start_date from the next date to the entered termination date to effective_end_date AND with assignment_status_type as 3 (i.e. 'Terminate Assignment')
    My question is, is this the proper functionality, or I am doing something wrong??

  • Terminated employees retrieval

    Hi All!
    I need to retrieve terminated employees without creating any FM on target system.
    As I understand, there is an identifier of terminated employee: infotype IT0000 has end date of '31.12.9999'
    How should I read this data from IT000? HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION FM in not RFC-enabled. Are there any BAPIs of FMs that are RFC-enabled and capable to read this information?

    Hi Soni,
    What is the end date you want to enter as. Are you talking about 31-Dec-4712. If not, please change the sytem effective date (calendar icon on the oracle menu) to the date you want to terminate and follow the termination process.

    How can I easily grant access to a terminated employee's mailbox including deleted items? If I have the terminated employee's mailbox on litigation hold the deleted items are in the recovery folder, but can the recovery folder only be viewed through

    We could run the following command to grant full access permission on terminated user:
    Add-MailboxPermission –Identity <terminated user> -User <your name> -AccessRights FullAccess –InheritanceType all

  • Pay out Terminated Employees expenses

    Hello!  We have had an ongoing problem with trying to pay out travel expenses to terminated employees.  When employees leave the company, 80% of the time, they have expenses in process.  Some of this is due to our direct bill credit card, and the data is imported into the buffer sometimes even after the employee leaves.
    So, our bus. process, is that the back-end in Accounts Payable finishes the expense reports.  However, sometimes we cannot get the repors to pay out through payroll (which is where we pay out all expenses).  Payroll has already tried to extend the pay through date, which was a good process.  But somewhere along - this was not good enough anymore.  I have two question - first - who else has a terminated employees process and pays through payroll?  next - what else can we try to change in the back-end (that can be a proces or  change to a program) that will allow these expenses to rest??

    hxc_time_building_blocks table does not show any record for a terminated employee

    Hi Dorianne,
    Are you using time evaluation? If yes check whether your time evaluation have triggered for any previous period for these employees. The most possible reasons are; you might have run any report / year end activity including the workschedule rule update (Possibly removed any holidays from the calendar rather restricting it for previous year) irrespective of the employment status.

    Navigate to Work Structures -> Status and query for all rows with system status Terminated Assignment. select your required assignment status as Default. Untick the other default.
