The sender system

All,
I have read several documents about TDMS and want to utilize it. But now I really have questions about the sender system(client), the question is: As we all know, if we take the productive system as the sender system, it really requires downtime when data transfer, it indeed impacts seriously. Could anybody tell me the downtime counting policy or any other good idea to avoid this? Thanks.
Sure I know the snapshot and the whole productive system copy as the sender system.
                Regards,
                Eric

Hi,
To avoid any performance hits on the production system and any data inconsistencies, we created a new R/3 system as the sender system. Each time we want to run a TDMS package we refresh this copy by a system copy (i.e. restore the back up tape taken from the live system).
I would not recommend using the production system as the sources at all and I think this SAP's recommendation too.

My requirement is to test the idoc with Inbound File.
Generate a file with the data entered through segments through we19 ,and use the same file for processing through we16.

  • BASED ON QUEUE NAME HOW CAN WE FIND THE SENDER SYSTEM IN ECC

Based on queue name how to identify the sender system
    the issue is
Messages are  are coming from pi to ecc , check below queues. These are incoming queues
to Ecc from PI. We are trying to find what these queues are. Sometimes these
are failing and we are not able to process,
Based on the above information we need to find  the sender system from where it is coming.

Hi srinivas- Thanks for your reply and there is no issue on pi side after reaching to ecc the entries got stucking in smq2 of  ecc system now the target system wants to know on which sender system these messges are coming we are not finding sender system detials from smq2 of ecc system .

  • Can the central system and the sender system at different time zone?

We have a control(i.e. central) system which is 6 hours ahead of the sender system.

We never get this error before on this step.  The only thing I can think of is that the sender and the central system

    Please share your experience.

    Hi,
By looking at the runtime error , the reason of the dump should not be the timestamp diff .
You can create an OSS ticket with SAP for further analysis.
Also, there can be data consistency issues due to time diff .

  • Unable to convert the sender service PPG to an ALE logical system

    Hello all,
maybe anybody can help or give me further information.
I have set up a scenario  to send IDOC from a business system  ( ERP )  to a business service ( EXT ).
Receiver is a linux system so I use the FTP-FILE adapter as communication channel.
The send-process is so far ok.
    Here my tests:
    1)  exclude the specific IDOC  in  IDXNOALE table  (  means no technical acknowledgment for this IDOC )
         result :
         a)  message in SXMB_MONI:   status-flag: processed,   acknowledgment-flag:  not in use
         b)  message in RWB-Monitor:  Sender ERP  -->   Receiver EXT   ok
    2) But I would like to have a system status.....   here  now the problem
add specific IDOC into IDXNOALE table   ( for request acknowledgments )
        result:
        a)  message in SXMB_MONI:  status-flag: processed,   acknowledgment-flag:   acknowledgment not possible
-->  error message:  unable to convert the sender service EXT to an ALE logical system
        b)  message in RWB-Monitor:  there are now two message,
first:        Sender ERP  -->   Receiver EXT   =   ok
second:   Sender EXT --->   Receiver ERP  =   system error
                             Receiver-Interface is :  http/ww.ahlstrom.com/EXT/ MI_IN
       3)  furhter tests:
            a)  change FTP apdapter channel  ( put some wrong settings )
message in SXMB_MONI:   status-flag: processed,   acknowledgment-flag:   contains system errors
message in RWB-Monitor  3 messages  (  one ok,  and two error messages )
             b)  changed only the receiver communication channel to HTTP  ( other extisting scenario )
then the acknowledgment works fine wihout errors.
                  I'm  wondering, but here Receiver-Interface  is:   http://sap.com/xi/xI/Message/30/Acknowledgment
Summary:  The process works,  but strange:
message in SXMB_MONI: unable to convert the sender service EXT to an ALE logical system
                      message in RWB:  system error
                      No problems with HTTP adapter

    Reinhard Doeker

    Hi,
Addition to the above said by Udo...
for routing the ack back to the sender system you need to create communication channel of type idoc with name as Ack.....

  • Outbound IDOC not received at the receiver system.

    Hi,
Im sending an IDOC from sap to a non-sap system. During this process, from sap system it is executing successfully without any erros and the status is also '03' .
The problem is that the other system is unable to receive the IDOC sent from SAP system.
The connection is like TCP/IP and the registered server program is given as 'PROGRID' in RFC destination.
I would like to know what would be the possible cases where this IDOC is not received at the receiver system.
The configuration is perfect as per my knowledge. Just want to confirm one thing 'do i need to include any message type such as "SYNCH".
    Awaiting for your solutions.
    Thanks
    rohith

    Hi,
If the IDOC is sent successfully from the sender system then the status of the IDOC will be '03' , no matter whether the receiver has received the IDOC or not.
    As per your case,
Check the Partner Profile parameters , whether the basic and extended message types are used properly.
The message type Synchron (Sync) is generally needed in Inbound IDOC side. Check whether you have added SYNCH or not.
    Hope this Helps.

  • Idoc not found in the receiving system

    Hi Experts,
In the sending system idoc status is 03 (Data passed to port OK), but in the receiving system the idoc is not there. How to rectify this error?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Soumya.

    Hi Soumya,
Check the RFC connections, becoz in the sending system once the IDOC is sent the status becomes 03 it does not check whether the IDOC has sent to the received system, if there are any errors before sending the IDOC it will not send and the status will be 01, so check the RFC connections at sending and receiving systems.......
    Reward points if this helps............

  • HOW TO LOOK AT SENDER SYSTEM IDOCS

    hi friends,
    Scinario :recieving the idocs(inbound)
we know that the idoc nos. which is send from the sap system to the reciever sap system will change.
suppose the sender system is having idoc nos as               10002
the same idoc in the reciever system will have, let us say      20001
we can view the idoc nos.which we have in our system ie recieving system.
now, my problem is how to check the corresponding idoc's in the sender system.
    ie in our example 10002.
    please help.
    Regards,
    Murali G.S.A

    hi DJ,
    thanks for responding.
in my program there is requirement to display all the corresponding idoc's of the recieving system.
    can we do this ??????????
since , in a report we can display things which are there in system (in the form of tables..)
but in this case as u said there are generated by system.......
but is there any way to track these numbers..... will they be stored in recieving system ( the idoc nos. of the sender system).....

  • PI FTP: Process 1 file at a time until it is successfully processed at the target system

    Dear Experts,
As the title said, I'm required to process 1 file at a time and only process the next file after the previous file has been successfully processed at the target system. The interface scenario is asynchronous FTP to ABAP proxy.
It is similar with the following link:
File adapter to pick a single file
I think there could be 2 feasible solutions:
    1. Configure EOIO at the sender CC. According to this link:
Queues for Asynchronous Message Processing (SAP Library - SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure)
It is stated that "Once the message has been processed successfully in the target system, the Integration Engine executes an implicit database commit."
In the case of asynchronous FTP to ABAP proxy, will the PI wait for the ABAP proxy to finish processing the file before sending the next one?
    2. Configure locking at the ABAP program in ECC. I could ask the ABAPer to create a locking mechanism to lock the document before it is posted to BAPI. If the reference document is being locked, it will try again for the next second up to a certain times before it gives up.
Which 1 is actually fits the requirement?
    Thank you,
    Suwandi C.

    Dear Experts,
Sorry, just 1 more question which I'm curious.
In NFS adapter we have the option to set the processing sequence to by Name / Date.
In FTP will it only by Date?
    According to this link:
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/f9/17888f490846a9972628525cc28aac/content.htm
"Messages are delivered with the same queue names (supplied by the application) in the same sequence that they were sent from the sender system"
If it is in the same sequence sent by the sender, I guess it is in the Date order for FTP. Is that correct?
    Thank you,
    Suwandi C.

  • Missing document items in Sales Order in the receiving system

    Hello.
We're doing passing of message type ORDERS (ORDERS05) from one system to another. Idocs were posted successfully but we can't find the document items in the receiving system if we view a particular sales order in VA03. Document items are present in the sending system.
I checked segment E1EDP01 (document items segment) for the inbound idocs and found all items attached to the sales order but we can't see them in VA03 display.
Appreciate help on how to proceed/check this issue.
    Thanks. =)

If you have verified that the IDOC was complete in the receiving system, I would use WE19 to copy the IDOC in the receiving system (or copy to a development instance of that system) and run the process in debug....someone will have to watch the process, I think and see what is happening to the VBAP table during sales order build.

  • RFC Adapter - Where to Register Rfc2XmbService (Sender System or XI ?)

    Experts,
    I have the following scenario:
    R3 --> RFC_ADAPTER --> XI --> SOAP --> THIRD_PARTY
My specific question is, In which system do I need to register the Rfc2XmbService program. Is this done in the R3 system or in the XI system.
If it is done in the R3 system then where is it done cause there is no J2EE administration tool in R3.
Could someone explain exactly what this registration concept is.
Thanks and appreciate any help in advance.
    - Ravi
--- I have figured this one out already. The program needs to be registered in XI and Not the sender system.
    Thanks
Message was edited by: ravi kumar

    Hello,
the Rfc2XmbService registers itself when you activate the RFC adapter in the Configuration but you can preallocate it through the Visual Admin.
Further by default are logging for sync calls not enabled, e.g. you don't see anything in SXMB_MONI.
Therefore go to SXMB_ADM and the Integration Configuration option and under the RUNTIME specific option create an entry for
    RUNTIME LOGGING_SYNC 1 (0 is default).
Also make sure that the rfc adapter is activate in the AdapterFramework overview. On the target system call transaction SMGW and go to logged on clients to see if you see the Rfc2Xmb Service. Then in SM59 of the R/3 system you should have an entry pointing to the Rfc2Xmb service and a test should give you an idea if it works.
    I'm doing R/3 4.6c -> XI 3.0 -> R/3 Enterprise about 20 BAPIs, no issue.
    I hope this helps.

  • SOAP Sender System in SLD

    Hi
    Im doing a SOAP-XI-JDBC scenario
Im getting request from a 3rd part system to XI through Webservice provided by WSDL file
Now i have to create a sender SOAP adapter . For this do i need to make an entry of the sending system in my SLD..
Do i need to create a Business system or Business Service
If so what would be the details
    Thanks
    Keerthi

To add more points to Rajesh
    <soap:address location="http://yhsapi01:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_FILE_SENDER:CCT_WebService_2_WebService_Sender_H1309&version=3.0&Sender.Service=BS_FILE_SENDER&Interface=http%3A%2F%2Fyash.com%2Fh1309%2FWebService_2_WebService%5EMI_A_OUT_+SendSMSToIndia_H1309" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" />
In the above sample  example soap:address element specify the address to access the  XI. test tool like soapUI read the wsdl and try to connect to the WebService provider(here XI) using the address specified in the soap:address element and soap:action attribute in soap:operation because soap:action identifies the specific operation in the webservice.

  • How to find the sender information from a IDOC

    Hello Colleagues
I have a list of IDOCs which are transferred by by ALE and EDI methods, the customer idocs are using EDI and internal buyers use the ALE technology.
I have to write a report which tells me which was the originating system/ source of the order, so I wanted to know is there a way that I can find the origin system of the idoc message.
I had a look into EDIDC but the sender port here is a self pointing RFC for the edi messages, any idea how to get the origin system here ?, however the ALE messages gives the correct sender. But in future we are planning to have XI for internal transfer for idoc will that also have the same problem.
    Best regards
    Sujoy

    Hi ,
you can find receiver system details in partner profile , transaction we20.
    the sender system details are
port = SAP+your systemID(can be found in login system details)
EX if i am using ides server(testing server) having system id ESR then port = SAPESR
partner number u can get by following the path
sale...>basic settings...>logical system....> assign logical system to client.
here you can find the logical system which is nothing but your partner number for a particular client.
    Hope this  helps you.
    Thank you.

  • Java-only, Component based message alerting - loopback to sender system

    Dear guys,
we are using the alert framework availbale on PI 7.11 to notify the sender system if there is an alert for specific interfaces. In that case a customer function module is called giving the message id of the request message (message is sent via ABAP proxy). As a result the according entry in customer table is updated.
The implemntation is based on the BADI ALERT_MODIFY_TEXT and uses the standard function module ALE_BAPI_GET_UNIQUE_RECEIVER to determine the system /rfc destination to send the alert notification.
This solution works fine so far.
As PI 7.11 dual stack is not the latest release, we are thinking of upgrading to current PI/PO release. In this context also shift to java-only installation is contemplated which will need an alternative solution for the described alert/error notification loopback.
Are there any possibilities analog to BADI to implement such a solution?
What are your approaches regarding this requirement in the context of java-only?
    Any help/thoughts appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Jochen

    Hello,
    >>What are your approaches regarding this requirement in the context of java-only?
I would suggest you to schedule jobs like this:
Customize Alerts Using Job in PI 7.31/PO
    >> alerts are consumed according to the given interval and not in "real time" when error occurs, today solution using BADI is "real time" - if possible I would prefer "real time" solution
    Check this:
Michal's PI tips: How to trigger an alert for Component Based Message Alerts (CBMA) via "API" ?
    >>an separate service determine the actual alert count would be helpful to provide the correct value for maxAlerts, this have to be called beforehand
I haven't tried it but i think u can do that, since these consumers are nothing but JMS queues only so i think there will be a method to read number of alert counts.
    >>In history I saw emails generated by the standard alert consumer which only contain details for the first alert, in my case I need details especially the message id for all errorneous messages
If ur max alert parameter is greater than 1 then u should see multiple alert text  (along with message id and other details) in ur email message.
    Thanks
