Timedatectl local time is five hours behind my real wall clock time?

timedatectl will look like this
Local time: Thu-2015-02-19 14:00:00 EST
Universal time: Thu-2015-02-19 19:00:00 UTC
RTC Time: Thu-2015-02-19 19:00:00
My universal and rtc is the right time and my local time is incorrect. How can I make them all 19:00:00? I tried reading the time wiki and searched for various articles and I'm still confused.

Based on the timestamp of when you posted this, it looks like your UTC and RTC are off by 5 hours.  THAT is the problem.
As an example, I'm in the same timezone as you:
$ timedatectl
Local time: Wed 2015-02-18 19:43:06 EST
Universal time: Thu 2015-02-19 00:43:06 UTC
RTC time: Thu 2015-02-19 00:43:05
Time zone: US/Eastern (EST, -0500)

  • Time is one hour behind

I am trying to get the time.value of
    a specified time
the specified time is in format hh:mm;ss
When it outputs the result the hour is one hour backward
    for e.g.
    import java.sql.*;
    System.out.println(""+Time.valueOf("03:00:00").getTime());
    It prints
    7200000
    System.out.println(""+Time.valueOf("04:00:00").getTime());
    It prints
    10800000
I am currently using java version "1.4.1_02"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_02-b06)
Previosly used an older version of java and didn't encounter this problem.
Can some shed any ideas why this is happening?

This "Time" is java.sql.Time, right? Unfortunately it's a subclass of java.util.Date, so internally there must be a date as well as a time component. And I'll bet the default date that gets used in the valueOf() method is one that isn't in daylight saving time -- maybe 1970 January 01 -- and today is (at least where I am it is), so that's where the hour difference comes from.
Try resetting your system clock to some time in November and see if it still happens.

  • Report governor?  (CPU time, clock time, # rows, etc?)

Is there any sort of report "governor" function available in the
Reports Server or 9iAS (Portal) interface to the reports server
that would let me stop a report once it had used up a certain
amount of database CPU time or simply ran for too long ("wall
    clock time")?
For certain times of the night (during data loads, etc.), I need
to be able to restrict some or all of our users from taking over
the CPU by running too many reports concurrently, reports with
too broad a set of parameters, etc. The SRW.SET_MAXROW
procedure might help a bit, but ideally I'd like to be able to
control this without having to change each report. (Also, I'd
like to be able to control this on a user-by-user, group-by-
    group or time-of-day basis.)
TIA for any suggestions anyone can offer!

    hello,
there is no feature in oracle reports but you might look into
the database features, they might have something like that.

  • Times displayed in graphs are 2 hours behind

    Hi,
Not sure where to adjust this, but all performance graphs within OPSCenter on every asset is two hours behind (also the live graphs) time on the system is configured as CEST. The only time i needed to specify something in relation to a timezone was during installing OPSCenter configuring ASR credentials.
Cannot find any info in the documentation in regards to this.
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

  • Register exact clock times (4 digits) instead of half-hour increments in Record Working Time (Calendar User Interface)?

    Hello
Is it possible to register the exact working times in the HRESS_A_CATS_CALUI WDA instead of half an hour increments?
    Now:
    choose between 0800 to 0830
    Need:
    0810 to 0825

In calendar interface, standard is 30, but if you need 15 etc you need to a modification etc, use the normal interface with clock times or in details screen you can enter clock times enable fore the cats profile using CAC1 http://scn.sap.com/thread/3678682

  • Clock time being displayed incorrectly

Hey all, I have a little problem with my macbook.
I noticed a while back that the time displayed by iStat Menus time is an hour faster than the actualy current time. Thinking that the current time zone was giving me problems, I went into time zone and sure enough, it's the correct time zone. I looked at the time in the Date & Time preference pane, and it shows the correct time. Also, when I turned on the clock in Date & Time, the Mac OS X stock clock, it showed the same time as iStat Menus was showing me, the current time plus one hour. Does anyone know a way to resolve this as it is really bothering me. Thanks
If a screenshot is needed I can post one as well.

Restarting my macbook after changing the time zone fixed the problem...
Should've tried that first. Sorry guys :P

I set up a new time capsule on a wireless 4g modem.  I started the initial backup.  It's been five hours and it still says "making backup disk available (4.97 GB of 18.52 GB)."  Can I stop the whole thing, connect my computer to the time machine using an ethernet cable and start over to increase the speed of the backup?

oh i already did that. Im working on my imac and looking into this on my macbook. Was able to reproduce the issue again by trying to open TM. Locked out the finder again and had to restart. I checked the serial number and it was an early 2009 purchase with no coverage.
If you bought a Mac and got AppleCare with it, within 2 years of buying the TC, the TC is covered, too.
I have to admit that this $500 unit was the first to apparently junk out. The western digital that had my main data on that is my daily external that I store about 2TB of data on is still perfect and the new technology TM appears to already be cashed. Love the computers, not to big of a fan on the externals of the apple TV's. No life expectancy. Neither here nor there.
suggestions before I either get this looked at or scrap the HD on it and move forward.?
Reset the TC. See [Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule FAQ|http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3728].
Try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 in [Time Machine - Troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Time Machine+ forum).
If all else fails, take it to your local Apple Store or Authorized Repair location, they may be able to determine whether the disk is dead.
If it is, they might replace the TC for you. If not, they won't repair it, but if the electronics are ok, you can replace the HD yourself, if you want to. See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2542983

  • I'm running Pages version 5.2 on a Desktop Mac version 10.9.2. with the Pages app open how do I use the Time Machine to go back five hours to see the work?

I'm running Pages version 5.2 on a Desktop Mac version 10.9.2. With the Pages app open how do I use the Time Machine to go back five hours to see my page? Can I access Time Machine within an app like Pages? How do I enter Time Machine within the application? It always takes me to the Finder. I apolgise for the mumbo jumbo. I simply do not know how to use Time Machine. It makes sense when I follow the Tutorial but then I lose it.

OK. You've kind of skipped over the reason why you want to go back five hours, but my assumption would be that you've made changes to a Pages file that you want to revert.
There are two ways to tackle this. From Pages itself, open the current version of your document, and from the File menu, click Revert To, and Browse All Versions. You'll then be in the Time Machine interface for that file, and can browse back to the version you want.
Or, outside of Pages, you can select the file (or the folder it was originally in, if you've since deleted it) and enter Time Machine from the TM menu (it sounds like you've already tried this?)

I am soooo disappointed with the apple customer service at the local store in Tampa......every time they give u an appointment and make people wait for hours......there was some cosmetic problems with the screen of my Mac book pro....they replaced it but the computer would not turn on....and btw when I went to pick up my computer the representative handover my computer to another guy without checking his id who was there to pick up his phone.......then I had to take it back second time this time they messed up my iWork...I took it back but they couldn't retrieve my history of purchase of iWork...and then when I installed the iWork at home...none of the applications is working.... .I will have to take is back fourth time.....I loved apple products but may be not anymore.......

Other than what Shotist007's remarks (which solves nothing) your experience is not common. First I would speak to the store manager to get things rectified for you. If that doesn't work out then I would contact AppleCare and speak to a customer service representative and complain via that venue.

  • The server clock on a website I use is 5 hours behind. When I use Internet explore, the time is correct.

The server clock on a website I use to make t-times (FORETEES) is 5 hours behind the current correct time. The time has always been correct until this morning. It is necessary for the server clock on this web site to be the same as my current time. I used IE to get into the FORETEES web site and the clock was correct on the FORETEES web site. • Server time one hour behind

Running CF 7 on a Fedora Core Linux system that has the
system level time zone updates applied. A shell command of 'date'
returns the correct date and time.
However, we have some CF services and webpages that rely on
    times and
#timeFormat(now(), "short")# returns the time one hour
    behind.
I'm sure it has something to do with the new daylight savings
time changes ... but as I mentioned above, I have those applied to
the server and they are working correctly. Is there something that
needs to be patched to the CF server?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated - thank you.
    Alan

Believe I found the issue .. this tech note indicates that
the JVM needs to be updated for CF to get the correct daylight
    savings time

  • A Verizon cellphone tower in my area is feeding multiple Verizon Customers / Devices with the incorrect time (one hour behind) when we are in range of this tower

A Verizon cellphone tower in my area is feeding multiple Verizon Customers / Devices with the incorrect time (one hour behind) when we are in range of this tower (in this specific area).   Our phones show the correct time in other areas.   Is there a way to fix or report this?

The zip code that this is occurring in is: 87102
    Specifically when I am at
    1001 Woodward Pl NE
    Albuquerque, NM 87102
Upon further investigation, it is happening to anyone with a Verizon handset, regardless of specific device.  I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and my co-worker has a Motorola Droid Turbo and we are both having the issue.  Anyone on a different carrier (T-Mobile, AT&T) is fine, and is not experiencing this issue.
It actually looks like the cell tower is feeding us the correct time, but its like it forgot daylight savings happened.  So it is feeding us the incorrect time zone/day light savings information.
When I goto Settings -> Date and Time on my Android device,  I have both "Automatic date and time" and "Automatic time zone" checked.
the "Automatic timezone" it is pulling from the Verizon cell tower is "Mountain -7".   It is correct that we are in the "Mountain" timezone, but we are currently "Mountain -6" (also known as day light savings).   So the Cell Tower things it MST when it should be MST DST
When I uncheck "Automatic time zone" and select my own, suddenly it lets me select "Mountain -6" and doesn't even give me the option of "Mountain -7".
So in conclusion, some cell tower in the area of zip code 87102 forgot that daylight savings ever happened, and is telling cellphones they are in the "Mountain -7" timezone, instead of the correct current timezone of "Mountain -6 DST"
Edit: Oh, sorry, and to answer your question, it began happening about 3 weeks ago.  We started noticing around March 25th, maybe a little after that.
