TLF and arabic text

Hello,
I'm using AS3 with CS3 to do some design involving working with dynamic text field for arabic text.
This staetemnt works just fine:
var strValidate_txt.text = "خُرُوجْ"; // a dynamic text field - result OK
however when I try to build the string characyter by character:
var strValidate_txt.text = "";
strValidate_txt.appendText("خ");
strValidate_txt.appendText("ر");
strValidate_txt.appendText("و");
strValidate_txt.appendText("ج");
the resuslt is a string with dissjointed characters وجرخ
I couldn't find a way to fix this in Flash CS3. I'm wondering if upgrading the Flash CS4 with the new TFL will solve me this issue?
still need to convince my boss to pay for the upgrade!

I'm working on Flash with Arabic language since 2 years in FAO (http://www.imarkgroup.com) to develop eLearning apps in Flash/Actionscript...before the TLF also.
The new TLF is the best choice, you can test your arabic text using the demo app http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/textlayout/demos/
I suggest you to wait for the release of new Flash Builder 4 with the official version of TLF. Now the TLF is a BetaVersion.

Problem with Creative Cloud and Arabic Text

We are currently testing illustrator CC and would be moving from CS5 Middle Eastern Version
We have installed CC using the lanuage setting English Arabic
And we can add text to files in arabic so all good
However if we open a file created in CS5 ME the arabic text displays as blocks. The font used is myriad pro
Is there a way to correct this ?

The best bet is to keep both and open the file in the appropriate version. With the changes in the text engine it will always be a problem.

ENGLISH AND ARABIC TEXT IN SAPSCRIPT

Dear ABAP Gurus,
I have been working on one SAPSCRIPT wherein customer wants the text to appear both in English as well as in ARABIC.
I have created the script in English and added the ARABIC part too in the layout. But I do not get the ARABIC characters in print preview. (The customer is logging in 'EN').
Please advise me :
1. Is it feasible to print in multiple languages in SAPSCRIPT.
2. If yes, how.

Yes, but you need to install the Arabic launguage first then see the output.

Arabic text turns into #####

Hello all,
I have checked a thread having this problem but the solution is not given so I had to open a new thread.
I have an arabic smartform and at the preview level all is ok and arabic text is appearing very well, but when printed, the text turns to ####### on the printted paper. I tried to print some arabic text using MS Word editor to check that the printter supports arabic and arabic was printed correctly which means that the problem is within SAP, in particular, printter setting.
so can you please help in how to setup the printter setting in SAP to allow printing arabic?

Line break issue with Arabic text in TLF

Hi All,
We have meet a odd problem that arabic text will break to muliply lines,
They are same sentence I paste into the TLF demo. the second one is break into muliply lines, the symbol(I have no idea what is it calls sheddeh?) is break line. I used different font, first one is "GE modern" and second one is "Sharjah"
if there is any conerned about this issues.

This symbol is break line. And only the font "Sharjah" has this issues.

Support for Arabic text and Direction:rtl

I am using HTML/CSS/Javascript to develop my application.
I have been trying to get direction:rtl (right to left) to
work to display Arabic text in the right form with no luck.
Does Adobe AIR lack the support for this feature ? If so,

How can I fix my Safary navigator (and other aplications) when I'm receiving the arab text code?

Well, I'm receving constantely the arab text code by mail or on Twitter app (by IOS) and all aplications crashes.
Sometimes I'm surfing and the god dammit code is in the homepage source and crash the aplications. The same thing at IOS.
I'm without ideas about guys.

Copying and pasting Arabic text in InDesign CS4 ME

We have an arabic document in pdf and word formats and we have InDesign CS4 ME and we are trying to copy and paste text from the pdf/word document but the font isn't transferring, there is nothing only boxes. We have turned on the arabic keyboard and that didnt help either. Working on a mac.
Can anyone help us? What is the solution?

Well, why should it. Unless you are typing Arabic, that won't do anything at all. Copy-and-paste is not typing.
If copy-and-paste does not copy the font along so you get the pinky squares in InDesign, it only means that your default InDesign font does not support those characters. Select your text and then choose another font -- one you are sure of contains Arabic.
If you still get pink squares, it's more likely the text in the PDF is not encoded properly, and in that case no-one can't help you -- but it ought to work directly from Word.

There is a preference item for clipbaord handling that toggles text ony or formatted text when pating from external applications. You may be pasting unformatted text.
And of course the fonts must be installed...

Arabic Text and Fonts sucks on 10.3

Hello Everyone;
I'm not sure if someone can assit us with this, but Arabic fonts on 10.3 are so bad. It used to be perfect with the old version 10.2 and 10.2.1. The text fronts looks like the old Android fronts. Is there a way to change it on 10.3 to look and feel like the old 10.2?

I have taken these concerns to our development team and hope that there will be a change to the Arabic text in future versions of our software. I do not speak or write in Arabic, but can appreciate your concerns.

Arabic text direction and language in Illustrator CC 2014

I have a rich text format document in Arabic and the text direction is from right to left. when I copy the text in TextEdit software and paste it in illustrator CC 2014 I can change the characters to Arabic but the text direction in from left to right. I've read about Adobe World-Ready Composers and the option for paragraph direction in the adobe site in this link Creative Suite Help | Arabic and Hebrew support in CS6 but I don't have this option in my version of Illustrator CC 2014. What should I do?

please i cant find/follow : << the Adobe Illustrator Preferences dialog box by going to menu Edit > Preferences > Type (Windows) or Illustrator > Preferences > Type.
Inside this Type section, please make sure you have enabled the right "Language Options"... in your case "Show Indic Options". >>

• How can I correctly recuperate/extract Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew text?

Hello -
Context:
As a packaging designer, my clients are often requesting that we add Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew texts on packaging.
More often than not, I receive 4 different types of text sources :
— 1.
A .PDF containing a scan of the text needed (so nothing more than a picture).
— 2.
A .PDF whereby I can select the text and copy it into MS Word® but the sentence is no longer the same as what I had copied from the .PDF file! (e.g. some of the characters are replaced by strange ones).
— 3.
A .PDF file where the client has inserted an annotation which displays correctly in the Acrobat® but the moment that I do a copy/paste into MS Word®, the whole sentence is inversed (text appearing left to right instead of right to left -> For Arabic).
— 4.
Sometimes I also receive Excel® files.
After copying the text into MS Word®, I save the file in .PDF format and I then re-open it in Adobe Illustrator®.
Softwares:
          • Adobe® CS5 (Illustrator,...)
          • MS Office® 2011
          • Mac OS 10.6.8
Question:
Is there an easier, faster and more reliable method to extract such "exotic" text?
e.g. a plug-in, another software, another method (instead of having to pass through MS Word®, ...)

Not really. It's inherent in dealing with this stuff on non-native systems. Your issues 2. and 3. Should be fixable by manually setting the document language in Word, though. Same for 4. then, of course, assuming the PDFs and comments use a standard Unicode/ OpenType font that can provide al lthe glyphs and no otehr substitution is going on....
