Torch 9810 email display issue

When I go into messages, all the emails display an envelope icon, time and subject but it does not show who is sending me the email.  I have already checked in options to see if display name was unchecked and it is not the case.  I do not know if this is a software issue, very strange. Can someone please help me.

  • Torch 9810 - Email Set Up

Recently had to replace my  SIM Card and now I am trying to set up my email again.  When I go into Set Up it shows that there are 2 email accounts set up.  Since I am unable to send or recieve I try to go into email accounts (to confirm correct settings) and then it gives the message "connecting to email settings..."  After I get a message "Your device had a
problem connecting to the server".  It will not allow me to see what the settings are or to even set up an additional email account or remove an old one.  Any advice or help?  Thanks, Biglad

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given what you describe, I recommend you ring up your mobile service provider. Something did no go correctly (on the back-end) when you changed your SIM...and only they can look into what that might be.
    Good luck!

  • Entourage X HTML email display issue

I started receiving HTML based emails (i.e. like those from eBay, PayPal, etc) with nothing in the message body but a blank white page.
This problem started 2-3 months ago. Before that I was able to read HTML-based email. I did not change any settings or anything, this problem suddenly started itself.
Does anyone know the fix for this? I have to turn off the HTML display function for now so that I can read what's written in the email.
    Thanks

I receive emails fine on both my Outlook and yahoo acounts.  On the main summary page the display is fine, but when I select the email I want to view the body of the email is blank.  Nothing is there.  If I hit reply or forward the original emai body shows up.  But that is the only way I can view an email.  Did I accidently change a setting?  I can't find a way to fix this.  Any suggetions would be appreciated.

  • Sync Issues Torch 9810

I recently updated to the 7.1 Bundle 1997 software for my Blackberry Torch 9810. When I went to sync for the first time I did not notice and it deleated over 100 contacts from my laptop outlook 2010. Once I figured out what happend I emailed each of the missing contacts off my blackberry torch and saved them back on my laptop. The next time I did my sync the newly added contacts from my laptop duplicated themselves in my torch 9810 contact list. I then went in and deleated the duplicate contacts on my torch 9810 and went to sync again. When I get to the part where it wants me to confirm adds/deletes and sync it again is trying to delete over 100 contact entries off of  my laptop, so I canel.
I checked my setting and the contacts to microsoft outlook is set for two way between devise and computer which is how it has always been.
I want the same contacts to be on both my laptop and Torch 9810.
I must be missing somthing but don't know what?

  • Torch 9810 WIFI defect

    Hi,
I am posting to seek solutions to my Blackberry Torch 9810 WIFI connectivity problem. I am a customer based in Malaysia; my carrier is DIGI. Software Version is 7.0 Bundle 1345 (v7.0.0.261, Platform 5.0.0.464).
My Blackberry Torch 9810 WIFI has never worked since I bought it. I have tried to connect it to my home wifi network and other major Public hotspot but none of them worked. However, when I checked the wifi status of my phone, it said my phone is connected to the wifi, with the wifi signal on but without Blackberry icon next to it.
    Thank you.
    Kind Regards,
    Samantha Ng

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then should contact your mobile service provider for formal support...indeed, there are a few reports in the world of some carriers blocking BIS access via WiFi and forcing their customers to use only their mobile data network for BIS-level services.
    Good luck!

  • Torch 9810 won't boot up or connect to Mac or PC. HELP!

    Hi,
I have a torch 9810 that suddenly stopped working a few days ago!
When I put the battery in, it begins to boot up and stops 1/4 of the way (on the grey bar on the bottom of the screen.) When I try to connect it to a computer it doesn't register. I run Mac OS 10.5.8, which is useless for most things now - I've never been able to get photos, etc, off of the phone using that OS and the blackberry software (I'd just email them to myself.) But I do have access to a friend's Mac, who runs 10.6.8 and it doesn't register there either. I also had a friend try it on their PC. I'm desperate to recover data - the ONLY video I have of my wolf, Samson - who dies 3 weeks ago, is on that phone.
    Here's what I have done:
Left the battery out for a long time and then re-inserted.
Tried to connect on various operating systems of Mac and Windows.
Ordered a new battery (the same thing happened.)
So, is there ANYTHING I can do? @BlackberryHelp on twitter should be called @BlackberryNoHelp!
Has anyone had any luck with a data recovery service (for the same/similar issue)? If so, please recommend it.
    Thanks for your help!
    Shannyn

First off, if you haven't done so, restart your Mac. Also, if you left your iPod plugged in overnight to your Mac, your iPod was powering the USB bus in your computer - and this is why your iPod battery is completely dead. Never leave your device plugged in when the computer is in sleep mode - all peripheral ports are turned off and battery powered devices will discharge.
If you have managed to get your iPod charged, the it is time to tackle the iTunes/Apple Mobile Device Driver issues. See this article for tips on how to troubleshoot and resolve this problem - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1747

  • App Error 204 - Reset' (BB Torch 9810)

    Helloo..
I have been trying to resolve this error but no luck
There's an error 'App Error 204 - Reset' appearing with whole white screen all of a sudden. I cannot access my phone as I click on Reset it reboots automatically and then shows the same error screen. I have restarted several times, taken out the battery and even rebooted (alt+ctrl+del) but no use.
Please help  me out the phone has stopped working and i'm not sure what the reason is. I don't remember my pin but i can provide you with my cell model number - Blackberry Torch 9810.
    Please please

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I've never seen a 204, and find no documentation about it. So, I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Morningstar mobile app on Torch 9810

After over a month of callikng Morningstar.com, they finally admit that they will NOT be attempting to fix their mobile app for the Torch 9810.  They claim it's an OS 7 problem with RIM.
HELP!  I'm a stockbroker, and rely heavily on that mobile app to track my clients' positions.
Problems:  Can get market quote.  Cannot log on.  Get a "connection failed" message.  If I can log on (rarely) I get one stock quote, then it freezes.  Portfolios's columns do not line up with ticker symbols.
I have deleted, reinstalled, and rebooted 4 separate times, so please don't suggest that.  Can anyone at RIM help, please?
Don't make me get an iPhone!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
First off -- to set your expectation re your question for help from RIM. This site has nothing to do with any formal support from, escalation to, nor communication with RIM for any purpose whatsoever. This site is a user-to-user community of volunteers who try and help each other out as best they can. So, the answer to that question is no -- not by virtue of posting here.
The responsibility for apps rests with the app developers...it is fascinating that Morningstar has chosen to blame OS7...sorry, but I sense an "excuse" rather than any rational reasons in that. There are tons of apps that have all been ported to OS7 just fine...
In any event, for your situation, your only option would I guess to be to fall back to an OS level that the app indeed is compatible. Before you pursue that, though, get Morningstar to tell you the EXACT OS levels (4 octets) that you need in order to ensure proper compatibility with their app. Then, you can seek those out and install them to your BB via this process:
Before you start, you may want to be sure you have a solid backup from which to restore (just in case)...refer to this:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Backup-the-data-on-your-Blac...
Also, if you are on BES, you will need to work with your BES admins for everything...they may or may not allow certain OS levels, and you need to ensure that your BB re-activates properly to BES.
Atthetopofeachdeviceforum, thereshouldbesome "sticky" threadsthatdiscusstheOSlevelsavailableformanymodels. Iftheyincludeyourmodel, thenpleaseusethoseasreferenceasyouproceed. Otherwise, youwillhavetodigthroughtheofficialdownloadportalforOSpackagesforyourmodel:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Picture Restore on Dead Blackberry Torch 9810

I would REALLY appreciate if someone could help me out. I have tried everything but I can not get my BB to power up.  I have no idea why the phone stopped working. I plugged it in last night and BB Protect did a backup early this morning at 1:23 am EST. When I woke up this morning the phone would not power up. We tried different batteries. No change. There is no SD drive on it so it is not restorable in that way. I can not connect wirelessly from my service provider to be able to send updates, etc. I have used BB Protect and so I have my contacts etc. However, I really need to get my pics. I recently traveled to Kauai. I saved up 2 yrs for the trip and the pics on my phone are priceless to me. Is there anything that can be done to restore them??? I would be so grateful!
    Can anyone help me?!!! PLEASE!!!

  • Blackberry Torch 9810 auto-rotating not working !

Hello guys my friend just bought a Blackberry Torch 9810 few weeks ago , only two weeks I think.
And yesterday she found out that the auto-rotating doesn't work - that is the first time she tried to rotate the phone because she want to stream a video.
Hard or Soft reset has been done , reboot has been done , sliders not open , no rotation lock apps has been installed.
Is this the sensor problem ? I mean , the phone is like brand new and just bought two weeks and the sensor got problem so fast ?
If anyone knows that exact and working solution please help ~
    Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

It could be...any device designed, built, and operated by humans is subject to a defect rate greater than zero. But, at an internet distance, it is of course impossible to provide an actual diagnosis, especially if the problem indeed is hardware. Only in hand evaluation by a qualified technician can truly diagnose a hardware problem.

  • Frozen Torch 9810

October 2011 I bought a BlackBerry Torch 9810 via company Belsimpel, Grote Markt 8A, 9712 HT Groningen in the Netherlands. Phone +31 50 3188540.
Directly I got problems to connect to the RIM server. After three months with a lot of communication and sending the device twice I received a new  device.
The new device connected directly without problems to the server. I liked the Torch 9810 very much. In July this year new problems started. Sometimes I had wait three minutes
for the device before I was able to start a function. End October my Torch was Frozen. It got stuck into the startup screen. I send it to a recommended, by Belsimpel, repair center in the Netherlands, Dynafix. After three week waiting I got my phone back. It was working perfect for three weeks. 23 November the device crashed again. I send it again back to the repair company Dynafix on advise of my retailer Belsimpel. Last saterday, the first of December, I received my device unrepaired back. The message was: Dynafix is not authorized to repair devices with PRD code 40099-033.
So, I pay for a two year subscription and now I have a broken phone and no one helps me further. I am angry and hate my Torch 9810. Are you able to help me or have I also abandon the BLACKBERRY dream? Two years warranty was promised, but where to get it?
