From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 9 with the 9.0.1 update).
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?

HI ....I have a new macmini 2.5 Ghz 10.7.3 Lion, had a problem today ,it froze so I could not shut down using mouse or tablet pen. used the power switch, when I tried to restart I got audible 'beeps' from it. I managed to restart it but kept getting a message come up on one ot the dual screens ' restart using the power swich to turn it off , then press it again to restart.'
This worked okay , but now it just keeps freezing whenever I start it up. I thought the issue could be my old Epson Expression 1680 scanner not being compatible , so I have unplugged it. I also had a look at the new memory I installed when I got it, but this seems not be the problem.
It is connected up to an Eizo Flexscan S2231W using a cable straight into the HDMI input , the other monitor is a small Acer using the VGA into Thunderbolt port.
When I turn the Eizo screen on first and then press the power button on the mac-mini, I hear the chime then the screen flahes the 'Digital no signal' message on and off for about 30 seconds , then the monitor comes on as normal. But it is still freezing up on me after using it for a while and I am having to use the power switch button to turn it off again.
    Can anyone help please.

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

My ipod touch shut down for no reason. now when i try to turn it on again, it goes to the apple icon to the spinning wheel, then it repeats.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Phone crashes/shuts down using apps since I updated to iOS 5.1

I have an iPhone 3Gs 16GB running iOS 5.1.1 build 9B206.  (my daughter has one as well and is having the same issues.)
Since the upgrade to iOS 5 we have experienced the phone being shut down (crashes) while using them.  At first I thought it was due to low battery, but it does it at full charges as well.  It does it more specifically with apps that use a lot of memory (or refreshing of information online), such as maps, weather, facebook, etc.
Anyone else having this trouble?  Should I revert to an earlier iOS?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these steps in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Powerbook G4 randomly shuts down even with full battery power

I have a three and a bit year old powerbook g4 (my apple care ran out in November) that has recently - as in the last two days - started randomly powering down without warning or error messages, regardless of how much battery power I may or may not have.
A bit of history - not sure what is and isn't pertinent.
I only recently - about six months to a year ago - switched out my recalled battery for a replacement one.
I also received a new power cord under warranty within the last year - but have had no problems before.
Before my powerbook came out of warranty, I took it into my local genius bar to have tests run to see if anything was wrong that I was not aware of, hoping to be able to get it fixed while still in warranty - it came back to me with no repairs and a clean bill of health.
I was on vacation for two weeks, and while on vacation my powerbook sat - powered down - in it's bag untouched the whole time. The problems started (or at least I first noticed them) within a few days after returning.
The other day, before any of this started, I noticed that even though the power adapter was in and glowing, the battery charging icon said "not charging".
The second time the random power-off happened, I did notice that the battery icon had an "x" in it, before it shut down.
The shutdowns are not like proper shutdown processes... one minute the computer is on, the next it's not. It's like the computer thinks there's no power, regardless of the actual charge of the battery.
I use my laptop on a laptop tray to maintain airflow underneath it and reduce overheating, but even so, the laptop seems to get very hot (although this is one of the issues I was worried about when I took it in to the genius bar before the warranty ran out, and they said it didn't get any more hot than they were supposed to), and also the power connector gets very hot. I don't know if overheating might have something to do with it?
So far I haven't noticed if it has happened while I've had the AC adapter plugged in... I think it only happens if it's running on battery, but not completely sure of this.
After the computer shuts down, I can restart it immediately (though these days it is taking longer) and I do not receive any error messages.
I usually turn off my computer when I won't be using it for a while - like before I go to bed or to work.
I recently upgraded my OS from panther to leopard, but was assured that it was compatible. I've had Leopard installed for at least three months, and the problems have only just started, so it probably doesn't have anything to do with that.
Well, that's about every possible piece of information I can think of that might be at all relevant to the situation. Does anyone have any ideas about what's happening? I have a feeling the news is going to be bad and I'll probably have to get a new computer...

Here's the Apple article on how to reset the PMU:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449
Possibly this might fix the problem. If not, here's a link to the MBP battery program:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
This program does NOT apply to your battery, but I think you may recognize some of the symptoms that yours is exhibiting. It also sounds like your power adapter may be getting warmer than it should, but that could have to do with the battery being defective. But if less than a year old, the power adapter should also be under its own warranty period.
If you have access to an Apple Store, you could make an appointment with the genius bar. They should be able to evaluate both the battery and the power adaptor by swapping yours out with ones that are known to be good. If not, call Apple.
    Good luck!

The on-device battery meter is 'off sync' with the actual battery charge. There are a couple of ways you can try to repair this...
Leave the device to charge an hours or so, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. Watch over the next couple of days to see if the charge and the battery use is in sync.
Roughly every 30 charges, deliberately discharge your battery to 10-15%, and fully charge to 100% afterwards. This will help maintain the accuracy of the “fuel gauge” on the device (your battery meter or scale).
Don’t drain your battery every day to 10-20% of its charge. You can actually expect battery problems by draining the battery. Again, to repeat, top-off your charge during the day whenever convenient – even ten minutes in the car or at your desk will give you an extra 20-25% charge.

  • Macbook Pro shuts down with a full battery, resets date

Hey I have a mid 2011 Macbook Pro that has been shutting down randomly. It'll have a  full battery, but shut down when I unplug it or even sometimes when it's still plugged in. Every time I start it up again, the date is changed to Jan. 1 2008 and there's a notification that because it's set to that date, some applications may respond "erratically". It did this for about 2 weeks, then was back to working fine for about a month and now it's started up again.
Today when I turned it back on after it shut down, a notification said to rebuild the iPhoto library. I didn't really know what it meant so I clicked OK because I thought it would help. Instead it erased my entire iPhoto library and shut down again. Thankfully I had my picture backed up!
I have a Genius appointment tomorrow, but was curious if this is happening to anyone else or if anyone has a diagnosis!
    Thanks!

Ok so I took it to the Apple store today and the guy was mildly helpful. He said I'm probably running too many programs at the same time and it's depleting all the power. Kind of ridiculous in my opinion because I feel like MacBooks are built to handle checking your email and editing a picture at the same time. He checked all the systems with disk utility and everything, including the battery, came back in good shape.  Anyway, it worked fine (of course) when I was with him, but the moment I got home it was worse than ever. Now, even when plugged in, it'll only stay on for a few minutes, if that. It won't turn on at all if it's not plugged in. It plays this game where it shuts itself down then turns itself back on then shuts down again over and over. Any ideas? I feel like I'll just have to take it back to the store.

  • Touch shut down when at sleep

I created a business mail account with exchange on my Pod. From there I setted the Push option to receive mails, new contacts and meeting from my business server.
From there I have no problem. It change when I put to sleep my pod after using it. For no reason it shut down. I have to restart it several time. I suppose it happens because the Push option drain battery energy.
I need answers. Do I have to arrange some settings on my pod ? Do I have to shut the Push option to stop my pod closing by himself.
    Thanks

    Hello Jason,
The problem I face is not new for me because it's the second time it occur. The first time, to solve it, I decided to restored my Touch like it's said in the post you sended me. I setted a second time my Touch with the Push option for my Exchange mail service. I then happened again. It's then that I decided to post my question.
However thanks for your answer, but I'm not sure it will resolve my problem.

  • IPod Touch Shuts Down Unexpectedly

    Hello,
I bought my 14 year old niece an iPod Touch for Christmas. We got it up and running on Christmas day and tought her how to add content. I used my iTunes account to buy 6 videos, which she is able to play successfully at all times. However, whenever she tries to play songs that have been added from her CD collection, she gets through about 3/4 of a song and then the whole device just shuts down. She then has to wait a minute or two before the device can be powered on again. If she tries to play another song, the same thing happens but if she plays a video, all is well.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, does anyone have ideas on how to address it. I've already restored the device and that did not help. Apple customer support has not been very helpful so, barring any new information from forum readers, my next step will be to return it.
    Tbird209

t could be that for some reason, the music software is crashing. It might be something that could be resolved by a reset/restore. I would try that first.
It could also be the result of a hardware issue. If the restore does not help I would definitely see about exchanging the unit. Take it to an Apple Store or the place you bought it.
    Good luck

  • Ipod Touch shuts down programs randomly

Whenever i'm using an app or any program for that matter on my ipod touch they slow down freeze and shut down, sometimes they shut down without freezing or slowing. What can I do?

Mine does this as well! And then I will go to the Music app, and the default song will be a song I listened to earlier in the day, but not the one that I was just listening to.
    Any ideas, guys?

  • IPod Touch shuts down then asks for password on restart.

    Hi
My girlfriend was playing with my iPod Touch 2nd Gen (she was playing 'TheLogosQuiz'). She said that it shut off because of low battery. I held the power button and it turned on (which doesnt sound right, if it shuts down due to low battery I thought that once it shut down, holding the power button gave the low battery icon), but when it loaded, it asked me for a password.
THERE WAS NOT A PASSWORD BEFORE!
I am locked out of my own iPod. I bought it brand new at a trusted retailer in late 2009.
It seems as though it just generated a password itself, and i dont know it.
    What should i do???
    Thanks

If it's asking you for a passcode you do not know (whether or you set it up or now), the only way to bypass it ist to connect the device to your iTunes library and restore it.  If necessary place the iPod in recovery mode using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • Blue Box doesn't shut down on Win XP - HELP! HAve to shut down using Task Manager???

Is it really true that you must shut the Blue Box down using Task Manager on Windows XP operating system???
On Win 98/NT/2000 the you can shut the Blue Box down by double clicking the Blue Box and shut it down. When I check the Task Manager it really is shut down.
However, on Windows XP when I shut the Blue Box down in the same manner - it still resides in the Task manager. If I try to start the Blue Box again after shutting it down a popup window is displayed stating there is already an instance of Blue Box running.
Any help would be appreciated - we cannot open the Task Manager and terminate the NIFB.exe in our application.
    THANX!
