Touchpad wont scroll after healthcheck on Equium A80

hello all,
my problem is after having a pc world health check done on my A80 i am no longer able to scroll using the touchpad, this happened last year as well and the only way i got it back was to go back to a time when it was scrolling, i mentioned this when i went in this year and was shown how to find the page that controls this function, only i cant find it now, i have been in to everything, can find mouse properties and how to enable/disable touchpad, but that is as far as i get.
Can someone please give me clear uncomplicated advice on this as i am not technically brilliant.
thanks
eileen

Hello Eileen
Before we start to discuss can you please tell us, is the notebook preinstalled with delivered recovery CD that contains all drivers, tools and utilities? I presume not. Am I right?
Obviously you are missing TouchPad utility. Please visit Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads. There you can download TouchPad utility for your notebook model. After doing this you will have new tab in mouse properties called Advanced.
There you can find all settings you need.
Bye and good luck.

  • Synaptics touchpad doesnt scroll after Windows 10 upgrade

I have HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, originally with Win 8.1. I upgraded to Window 10 on 05.08.2015. However, after upgrade the Synaptic touchpad scroll was not working, which I activated from Control Panel. But this activation is only a temporary solution as the setting goes off once the PC is rebooted. Please fix this issue.

  • Touchpad (Synaptics) scrolling with two finger gesture is smooth only after scrolling in IE9 before (Firefox 8/9/10 Windows 7 (64)).

First I got the problem solved that 2-finger-gesture scrolling did not work at all: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/895816. Thanks for that!
With "smooth scrolling" turned on in the options, touchpad gesture scrolling is smooth in FF9 but only in 5-line-steps. No stopping in between possible. If touchpad scrolling is performed in IE9 once, scrolling in FF9 is completely smooth afterwards. If the gesture is perfomed once in Google Chrome 16 scrolling in FF9 is turned back to 5-step-scrolling. Chrome 16 and IE9 can be used to turn off and on the completely smooth scrolling in FF9!

  • Equium A80-132: Cannot select options in advanced boot menu

I'm having problem with my equium A80-132 ...
When i boot it up, it keeps going to the page " windows didnt shut down properly.... Boot in safe mode, last good known configuration... etc..."
I know thats an operation system error, but the problem is that i can't select any options neither go to the Bios, using the keyboard F2 function...
Dont know if if something with the keyboard... even when i press the arrow to select an option, it wont move/work.
But it does restart when i press Alt+Ctrl+Del... for the reboot shortcut.
    Anyone have any idieas??
    thx in advance

    Hi,
There is one situation where the BIOS will not let you select the boot menu (F12 on my Tosh) to select an alternate boot device (nor will let it you enter the BIOS configuration, F2). I think it will sound strange but I can guarantee that it is behaving so on a Toshiba P200 PSB6. This is when Windows is in hibernating mode (last shutdown was "go to hibernation mode"). Believe it or not but the BIOS will force to boot from your Windows internal drive and will ignore any F12 key to select the boot menu.
This is the very first time that I am experiencing that, for instance some other BIOS will let you boot from a usb flash disk whatever the state. I agree that it makes sense to protect your Windows filesystem, as if you decide to boot Linux from a usb key and write to the hibernated Windows internal HD (Ubuntu will not let you do so but some other Linux could accept to write to an hibernated disk), it could result in a total file system failure.
    Hope it helps

  • My mouse wont scroll

the rolly ball on my mouse wont scroll down, it scrolls up & both ways sideways
but not down... i swear, like 5 minutes ago it was fine, then all of a sudden it just stopped scrolling. Its brand new like 2 months ago... what is wrong,
    some one help please!!
iMac w/intel core duo   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

You need to clean the ball.
Take a damp rag (lightly dampened with plain water), and roll the ball in all directions with the surface of the damp rag.
After several scrolls in each direction, the ball will be cleaned of the oils from your fingers.
It should start working again after that.
Basically, the oils from your fingers build-up on the ball, and it slips past it's sensors instead of rolling against them.
This is pretty common with trackballs and scroll-wheels.
    Hope this helps.

  • Mouse wont scroll

    Hi
We have just brought a windows 8 laptop and the mouse was working fine until we shut it down the first night and it updated. the next day It wont scroll at ALL on internet explorer and on the side bar the arrows up and down wont work either but if you
pull the bar up and down it works. It seems to be only internet exporer it has problems with. Our mouse is "Genius" but I put a different mouse in to see if that would work and that didn't help either. Ive tried all the other usb ports but still
no go. The mouse works well apart from the scroll.
    Can anyone please help me?!?
    Thanks

    Hi,
It seems that the update cause this issue.
You can try to restore the system back to the point before this issue, and then check the update manually, if there is any optional update related to mouse or USB driver (I suppose that you use USB mouse), please uncheck it and install other updates to see
    what's going on.
If there is no optional update related to mouse or USB driver, I suggest you install these updates one by one, after each update, restarting the computer to check the issue. According to this action, we can determine which update cause your issue.

  • Settings changed wont save after reboot

Any changes that i do in my Mac, wont save after reboot.
If i change the settings on my mouse (unchecking Scroll direction) next time i reboot, it will be checked again.
Any changes that i do to my Finder sidebar (like adding My Main Drive not visible, add downloads and pictures, change the foler view as columns) they are all gone after i reboot. Its getting freakin anoying. I Google for a solution but to find none.
When trying to opening Calender, it says that i dont have permission. I have gone to the application and checked and made sure that all acounts have r/w permissions.
On the Dock, i uninstalled an app and next reboot i will get a question mark, even tho i removed it before it comes back after the reboot.
    Thanks for listening.

May sound silly, but are you sure you're not logging in as the 'Guest' user? What privileges does the user account you're using have? Check in
     > System Preferences... Users & Groups
that the account you're using is Admin. If you're using a Standard account, are parental controls enabled?
If you are admin, try resetting your permissions and removing the sys pref property file. Before you do that, backup your system and user data. Once you're backed up, open Terminal and copy/paste the following into the Terminal window:
    rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
hit 'return'. If the prompt returns without an error (as it should), paste this
    sudo chown -R `id -un` ~
hit 'return'. Enter your password as requested, but type carefully as it will be invisible while you do.
This will take a while, but after the command finishes (i.e., when the prompt returns), restart the mac.
After the restart, set the mac up the way you want, then test whether the problem is fixed by restarting again to see if your changes were kept.

  • Touchpad wont turn on

My touchpad wont turn on.after couple months it hasn't been charged, then I.tried to charge it with different chargers didn't work now I.have the right charger it won't do anything

There are several other threads already discussing this topic, but they all say the same things:
--Check your charger.  Many of the USB cables supplied by HP were fragile, and break easily.  Try another micro-USB cable with a charger that supplies 2 amps (2,000mA).  If using an HP charger, check the prongs on the transformer - they are removable, and if twisted out of position no current will flow.
--Try all the resets - simple (hold both the power and center button for 15 - 20 seconds until the HP logo appears).   Advanced (press and hold the power, center, and volume down together until logo appears.  May give the option to completely erase the unit!)
--Use a TouchStone to charge the device if you suspect the female charging port on the TouchPad has been damaged.
--As a last resort, try using the "tpdebrick-v004" program.  This is a difficult, but doable re-flash of the device using a computer running Ubuntu, and a program from this link.  I revived one of my touchpads using this method, but it lasted for only a month or so before finally giving up.

  • Imovie wont open after mavricks update

I movie wont open after updating to mavricks. help?

Many people have been having the same problems this week because of he update. Someone on the forum mentioned uninstalling "Bonjour". +Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network - Wikipedia.+ If you have never needed it uninstall it. You could also try typing "MSCONFIG" in the Run selection under the accessories folder and un-checking it under the "Services" tab.
I personally have had the same problems. What i did was i un-checked it on the MSCONFIG menu first and then uninstalled Bonjour.
    Hope all this helps
