Trackball issue

Can abybody help me ? I cannot navigate on my blackberry using the trackball. I can navigate through the applications from left to right but not right to left, the trackball becomes stiff. Thank you

There is possible some dirt or debris stuck under it.  Roll it on your pant legs kinda hard in that direction that it sticks.  You can also try compressed air and if that doesn't work the trackball is fairly easy to pop out.

  • BB Curve 8330 Trackball issue

    Greetings all - I've been having an issue related to my BB Curve 8330. When I roll the trackball, it works fine when it's moving left to right, right to left and moving up. But, it will not scroll down. I've removed the battery to try and reset it, have also used "dust off" to try and blow out any dirt that may have lodged in the ball. All to no avail...It feels like it's "sticking" when I scroll down. Any thoughts as to what may be wrong and how to resolve the issue? In advance, thanks!

  • Trackball issues

    hello,
    Please i need help with my trackball. I noticed like two weeks ago to be precise that my trackball became erratic and as of now no longer works. I can't get to any of my apps apart from the messages app. I can no longer chat on the phone or access any other content apart from the messages folder.
    My trackball can no longer function at all and even when it does it only works when you press it hard. Apart from that noting else functions. Every other key is working perfectly except the trackball and it is the most important key as i can only access all other phone functions through it. it neither works when I press it up or down or to the sides. 
    I am really frustrated as this phone provides me with my bread and butter!
    Can anyone please help me on what to do? Thank you.

    You mean trackpad, right?
    If you think you are up to it, you could buy a kit and replace the trackpad yourself. There are usually DIY videos to be found. Here is one I found on youtube.

    The other alternative is to find a shop and have it repaired.
    But if the device is under warranty or insured, talk to the seller or the insurance company.

  • Mouse trackball issue

    I'm having trouble with the trackball on my mighty mouse. It will scroll any direction except or up, which it will only scroll a little. I tried using a rag with water to clean it but nothing is working.

    Open System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse/Mouse and make sure your Tracking and Scrolling bars are set correctly.

  • TRACKBALL - A BIG ISSUE

    I feel regret to get this phone - no matter how good it is - if the trackball is not working well - what's the point of getting this?
    And RIM here in Hong Kong can do nothing here...in view of a malfunction Tour 9630!

    I too had some 2nd thoughts due to the trackball issues, but finally took the plunge 2 weeks ago.  So far(knock on wood) I've had absolutely no problems with my Tour.  This is my 1st BB and it has me wondering why I waited so long to get one.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

  • Track Ball Issues

    The trackball on my new Tour is not very responsive.  I've adjusted the horizontal and vertical sensitivity and am still having no luck.  Is it just a faulty phone or is this one of the downfalls of this new phone?

  • Trackball software problem

    I am very dissapointed with a bb8900. What shouk be the pleasent RIM experience is a nightmare. The trackball does not react, thean after time reacts normaly, then after some time not again etc. etc. In the beginning the log whipe (alt+lglg) helped, now not any more. I reestablished all versions of OS getting no any third party app, nothing at all, but stil, Crapberry's trackball does not work. Ultimate RIM experience, taking out battery arround 10 times per day and hoping that I will be able to move through the menu at list for the minute or two is really painfull. So please RIM, show me that BB fame is not just another marketing lie and give me the sollution.

    Any other details that would help us out with your issue: In the trackball issue there are no rules from where I could see what is cousing yhe problem. For example, the screen navigation does not work, entering in mail (or any other menu or list), suddenly works for second or two and the not.

    I have the same problem with my Curve 8900. I've had three handsets from Orange now and so I've changed to a Motorola Atrix which is brilliant. The 8900 is practically useless with trackball issues. I just paid to have it unlocked so my daughter could use it and now the software has gone wrong again so the trackball is completely unresponsive again! I've had  the battery out and tried everything, but no joy. Blackberry won't even admit they've made a rubbish job of the ball. Although they have changed for the pad now I see. Doesn't help everyone who bought the rubbish trackball versions though. If anyone has any idea how to get the ball working let me know please.

  • Several Issues with my Tour

    I love my Tour, but here are some problems I am having:
    -  when I wanted to do a diagnostic test, I clicked on options, mobile network, menu and diagnostic test-- I read about how to do this elsewhere.  The result is that the screen said 'empty'.  Am I missing something I should have and how do I get it?
    -  when I am in the calendar-- let's say on a Tuesday, and I am about to enter a new appointment, all too often the day has changed to Wednesday or some other day.  Since I use the calendar for work, and I schedule a lot of appts., this is very bothersome.  Is there a way to keep on the same day?
    -  the trackball issues mostly come up when I play a game-- e.g., word mole.  It takes several tries to get to the letter that I want to enter.  I read that the os upgrade is supposed to improve trackball performance, but Verizon doesn't yet have it available
    -  sound quality using blue tooth in my car not as clear as the cruve-- but the os upgrde is supposed to address that as well.  
    -  some of the keys are hard to press
    I got my Tour on the first day it came out.  Maybe I should have waited.  I can live with most of these other issues, but the calendar issue is a real problem.  I have tried setting the horizontal and vertical key sensitivities to different levels, but it doesn't seem to help.
    Any ideas, suggestions, commiserations?

  • Java.lang.​Nullpointe​rException​, MS Exchange

    I recently purchased a BB TOur 9630 and am using BB Professional to synch with Exchange on the Windows platform. I just recently had my Tour replaced owing to a trackball issue and so have been through the installation/activation process a couple of times. In both phones I received the following message "uncaught exception: java.lang.NullpointerException". I looked in the knowledge base and the fixes all point toward Desktop Manager synch...which would not seem to apply.to my situation.
    The synch with Exchange appears to be fine. I have access to all contacts and emails. The error is random in that I have not yet identified any specific triggering event. The phone operates fine othewise so this is more vexing than debilitating.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Checked the phone logs and the error is related to the camera, however it is not triggered by it.
    I wiped the phone, reloaded the operating software, and received the same error message within 20 minutes of completing this process. Did not use the camera...just checked my email, contacts and reset a couple of screen prefs...that's about it. I checked the log files, found the error, and it again referenced the camera. The "rating" on the error was "severe", however I did not see any impact on the general operation of the phone.
    Since this has occurred on two phones and after 3 resets, I am suspecting that there may be an issue in the operating system. The only curious element is that I am not seeing others reporting this problem with the Tour.
    My service provider...Verizon...is not equipped to troubleshoot this issue and since this is my second phone, I am not inclined to try another swap (trackball issue has been resolved). Disabling the camera is not an acceptable resolution.
    If anyone has any ideas or if there is a RIM moderator about, I would appreciate your suggestions as to the next steps.

  • Random Backlighting

    My backlight will turn on and off randomly throughout the day. This only stops for a short time if I remove the battery. Soon after if begins again. I also am having some trackball issues. I'm not sure if the two are related. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Disable Auto On/Off from from Option -> Auto On/Off.
    Also check Backlight setting in your devices Options -> Screen/Keyboard.

    Just got a new Tour because the original one had trackball issues. I uploaded everything to my new tour and re-setup my email. Since then I have been unable to open email attachments. This is the error message I have been getting: More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found. I have also not been able to receive calendar requests. Please help

    For both issues, resend your service books.
    Do this:
    On your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:

  • 8310 ball will only move left up and down

    My wife was using the phone scrolling through a forum and when she needed to scroll to the right she found she couldn't.  this is the case with all options on the phone.  a battery pull doesn't help and she is on o2 Dudley

  • BlackBerry Tour Stuck On Agreement Page (Can't Click OK)

    I recently tried to upgrade to OS 5.0.0.419 to 5.0.0983.......ever since I did I can not get pass the Agreement Screen.  It will not let me click OK.  I have tried to downgrade and still I can not click OK. I was having trackball issues but only scrolling down.  Does anybosy have any ideas?  It is like the keyboard is frozen.....also when the screen goes black I can only get it comes back on by a battery pull or connecting it my usb.
