Transactional Replication configure into different domains

Hi team,
We have two domain, we need actual data immediate from domain one to domain two.
In this scenario we are paling to configure the transactional replication from domain one to domain two.
How to configure the transactional replication for different domains.

Replication across non-trusted domains or workgroups can be done using SQL Authentication end to end or you can use Windows Authentication by configuring
pass-through authentication.
Pass-through authentication can be configured by creating a local Windows account on both the Publisher and Subscriber that has
the same username and password.  Use this account for the replication agent process account and have the connections to the publisher, distributor, and/or subscriber impersonate this account. Ensure the account
has the permissions required in
Replication Agent Security Model.
This approach is covered in the section Use Windows Authentication to Set Up Replication Between Two Computers Running SQL Server in Non-Trusted Domains in
HOW TO: Replicate Between Computers Running SQL Server in Non-Trusted Domains or Across the Internet.

  • Transaction replication DML [update] operation not allowing

We are configuration the transaction replication from production to DR site, while I am trying to perform the DML [update] operation in publication database, DML [update] operation not allowing.
Note: How we can perform DML [update]  operation in publication database.

    Hi MSDN_12345,
According to your description, after configuring
SQL Server transaction replication between  two different Servers successfully. We can execute the update commands on Publisher Server. In theory, after updating the publication database, we also sync the data to the subscription database.
    For more information, see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms152754.aspx
So as other post, please post more details for analysis.
If the update command was not allowed to perform, we need to verify if your account has the related permission on the publication table, such as update permission, select permission and so on. Usually, the members of the sysadmin fixed server
role, the db_owner and db_datawriter fixed database roles, have update permissions.

  • Configuring Separate Wikis for Different Domains

    Hello:
I've been trying to configure Lion Server to host several different domains on the same IP.  Configuring the virtual hosts settings using the Server App seem to handle this just fine.  What I'm confounded by, however, is how to have each site/domain have its own separate Wiki content.  No matter which domain I browse to, I can still see all of the wiki content on the server.  For my purposes, it's imperative that the Wikis from each of my sites not be visible to the others.  Has anyone figured out how to do this?  Perhaps there's an easy way to get this done, but it's anything but obvious to me.
    Insights are most appreciated.  Thanks.

    kigrant:
To be able to publish each site to its own folder you'll have to split your current domain file into 3 files. I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • How to configure PerformancePoint to access SSAS hosted in different domain.

I have Sharepoint 2013 installed in a demo environment with a domain say ABC. I have username and password of an account say DEC\sqlread, having only read permission in SSAS (2008 R2) production environment, which is hosted on different domain. How do I
configure Performance point to use that read account (DEC\sqlread) of SSAS  whenever any user of ABC domain uses performance point reports.
I don't have much permission in SSAS production environment to configure things, but I have admin access to demo environment.

    Hi  Dev,
According to your description, you want to configure  PerformancePoint  to connect SSAS using a read account.
You can configure the Unattended Service Account for  the PerformancePoint Services:

  • How to configure Portal (3.0.9) with different hostnames or different domains ?

I have to configure an application based on Oracle Portal 3.0.9 with different domain names, for example: myappl.domain.com for certain internet users and myappl.domain.br for Brasilian internet users.
Can I configure the Portal in the right way ? It should reply to http://myappl.domain.com requests by generating all its url with this first part of name and it should reply to http://myappl.domain.br requests for other users, keeping all its generated urls with the correct first part of name.

The easiest way to provide search on just pages (not content areas) would be to crawl portal pages just like static pages. We have search partners on http://portalcatalog.oracle.com/ that can help you w/ this.

  • How to configure SCSM exchange connector when exchange server is in different domain.

We installed/configured SCSM in ABC domain and now need to use exchange connector for incident alert mail.

Cannot configure trust at AD level. But in the config article, following points are given.. but not clear on first 2 steps. Also, we did not find option to "navigate to certificate template and right click certificate templates".
sorry, i dont have much exp with certificates. If steps are described little more clear, would be helpful.
    a.     If your Service Manager management server does not have a trusted relationship with the Exchange Server, open Certificate Services and create a duplicate copy of the Web Server Certificate Template. Ensure that Private Key Export and Publish
in AD are selected, and then add Read and Enroll permission to Authenticated Users.
    b.     In Certificate Services, navigate to Certificate Template and right-click Certificate Templates. Click New and then click Certificate Template to Issue. Select the template that you created in the previous step.
    c.     In Exchange Server, open the Microsoft Management Console and add the Certificates snap-in for the local computer. Right-click the Personal logical store, and then hover over All Tasks.
    d.     Select Request for New certificate and in the Certificate Enrollment wizard, select Active Directory Enrollment Policy and select the template that you created previously. When you select the certificate, you can click More Information to type
the Exchange Server’s FQDN name as the common name in the Subject tab. You can also type the FQDN name as the Friendly Name in the General tab.

  • How to configure Hyper V VM replication between 2 different sites (located geographically at 2 different cities)

    Hi all,
I would like to know how to replicate VM's between 2 different sites which are entirely located at different parts of the cities and also
they are on different domains. Both Servers are running HyperV 2012 R2 Standard. As initial phase I have copied the VM's files  (.vhd and other config files) from Site A to Site B.
In this case, can any one please guide me on how to achieve this replication between 2 different sites.
A quick response is much appreciated...
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sir,
I would suggest you to build a site-to-site VPN to achieve this .
Also you need to create a domain trust for two domain , as it has been deployed by other people :

  • Cannot log into Oracle over WAN between different Domains

Essentially, the Oracle database server (serverA) resides in the domain remote.xxx.net which is part of the Remote (German) forest. We have our own domain, which is not currently part of the Remote forest, thus there is no transient trust between the two domains. When the client logs into our domain here (i.e. behind the ISA firewall), and starts Pro/I, the Oracle client seem to automatically forward authentication requests to our LOCAL domain controllers, and NOT the authenticating domain server serverA. As the user does not exist in our domain, the authentication fails.
So, this would indicate we have to somehow configure the Oracle client to force it to authenticate against a nominated domain (remote) and not against the domain the client is logged into, if this is possible. Again, my Oracle experience is limited, so we will investigate further, but if anyone has any other ideas, we're open to trying them.

  • Into a domain its possible to have 2 different realms?

    Hello,
We have a server domain with two different realms.
We have two application, each application have to login against its realm.
One application logins again default realm --> it's working ok
The other application logs to a new RDBMS realm --> it dons't work, it still login against default realm (we have used web.xml <realm-name> tag to select the new realm)
    Our doubts are the next:
    1) Into a domain its possible to have 2 different realms?
2)How can we select a not dafault realm to login?

Unfortunately, the ability of WebLogic to define multiple realms is a tease. Only the default one is active in WLS 8.1 and 9. I haven't checked 10 so maybe that's changed...

  • Transactional Replication To 2014

    Hi All,
In our environment we are planning to move the subscriber and distributor to 2014 with publisher on 2008. So am doing some work around on this,
    Since
Publisher can be assigned to only a single Distributor instance, can i perform the new setting only through downtime as already a replication is running?
Can I perform this replication without disturbing the current setup.?
Do I need to look into any scenario/conditions except load balancing before setting up this replication?
    Thanks
    Moug
    Best Regards Moug

Thanks for the link. Yes the current setup is in 2008, am planning to move only distributor and subscriber. I read the article which you suggested, as per the I need to upgrade the Sql to 2014 in the current server whereas my requirement is to different
new server. So do i need to stop all the jobs in old server and setup a replication to new server or i can perform while replication is online.?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards Moug
    Hi Moug,
According to your description, you had configured transactional replication on Servers, and now you want to upgrade distributor and subscribers.
As other post, before upgrading distributor and subscribers, usually, we need to make sure that all committed transactions have been completely processed by the Log reader agent, in addition, generate scripts for the entire replication topology
and store them in a safe place. These scripts will help to recreate replication if needed or the upgrade breaks replication.
After performing the SQL Server 2014 upgrade on the Server, although you can restore the a backup of a replicated database from an earlier version to a server and make sure that database have the same names as the original server and preserved
replication setting, it is rarely used as an upgrade process.  Personally, after you upgrading distributor and subscribers on the servers,
I recommend you recreating the database and replication configuration from the above scripts, then restart SQL Server Agent and the Log Reader Agent.

Yes you can. Make sure that domains configured to use different multicast address. WLS uses multicast for communications between nodes in domain.
although your configuration will work, you could have troubles if you going to execute inter-domain calls between domains/servers with the same names.

  • Transactional replication from a failover cluster instance to a SQL Server Express DB

    Hello,
I have been poking around on Google trying to understand if there are any gotchas in configuring transactional replication on a instance DB of a failover cluster, to a SQL Server Express DB. Also, this client would like to replicate a set of tables between
two instances DB's which both reside on nodes of the cluster.
Everything I've read suggests there is no problem using transactional replication on clustered instance as long as you use a shared snapshot folder. I still have some concerns:
    1) Should the distributor need to live on a separate instance?
    2) What happens in the event of an automatic, or manual failover of a publisher, especially if the distributor does not need to live on a separate instance? I know that when a failover occurs, all jobs in progress are stopped and this seems like a recipe for
inconsistency between the publisher and subscriber.
There is a paramount concern, that this particular client won't have staff on hand to troubleshoot replication if there are problems, hence my hesitancy to implement a solution that relies on it.
    Thanks in advance.

    1) Should the distributor need to live on a separate instance?
Answer: It is recommended to configure the distributor on the different server, but it also be configured on Publisher/subscriber server. (Subscriber in our case is not possible as its a Express edition)
Answer: If you configure both publisher and distributor on the same server and the SQL instance is failed over, the data synchronization/replication is suspended till the instance comes online.
Once the instance is up,all the replication jobs will start again and it will continue to synchronize the data to subscriber. No manual intervention is required.

  • Moving SAP ERP Servers to a different domain.

    Hello Experts
I currently have 3 SAP ERP 6.0 servers (central installs) a solution manager 7.0 EHP1 and netweaver CE machine all located in one windows domain (currenlty windows 2003 domain controllers) all running Oracle databases.  I have been asked to look into moving all of these severs into the main corporate domain (currently windows 2008 r2 domain controllers) with a view to streamlining the domain structure.  All the SAP installs are domain installs and therefore the accounts would need migrating to the new domain, what I would like to know, is are there  any other factors other than those listed below that I need to consider:-
Migrate SAP user and service account to new domain
Adjust Profile Parameters for SAP G:\usr\sap\<SID>\sys\profile
Change frontend gui's to reference new domain (SSO has reference to the sap service account from the users domain)
Review folder permissions to ensure security is maintained (the current dommain no users log on to this domain- the new domain everyone logs onto)
Is there anything specific for oracle that should be changed??
It would be usful to know if anyone has done this and any pitfuls to avoid.
    Thanks you.
    Liz

    Hi,
If some of your SAP systems will stay in the previous domain, you may have problems with the saplogon tickets because, as http cookies,   they are valid for a domain. So SSO between SAP systems in different domains may generate problems (which can be solved).
If you use BSP or web dynpro applications, and use URL rewrites or redirects ,the change of FQDN may also need some configuration changes.
Concerning Oracle, check your OPS$ users.

    Olivier

  • Transactional Replication

    Please help me..
After configuring Transactional Replication with  a publisher, distributor , subscriber and with one database and one table . and in subscriber the database in read write mode. so, we can perform changes .   Here my question is....
we performed some changes in table (other than primary key column) in subscriber db.
Then both db's have different vales ( publisher db and subscriber db). how will face this scenario?

    Hi,
As Hilary said, if you make changes in the publisher database, the data which you changed on the same row in the subscriber database will be replaced.
Do you want to synchronize the changes between subscriber and publisher in both directions? If so, you need to Merge replication.
Merge replication, like transactional replication, typically starts with a snapshot of the publication database objects and data. Subsequent data changes and schema modifications made at the Publisher and Subscribers are tracked with triggers.
The Subscriber synchronizes with the Publisher when connected to the network and exchanges all rows that have changed between the Publisher and Subscriber since the last time synchronization occurred.
    Thanks.
