Transport of files with CTS+

Hello
We want to use CTS+ to transport files from a file system to another.
SAP explains that you can transport anykind of files between two systems, if the deployment of these files can be done manually, which is our case.
We did not find any document explaining how to configure CTS+ to perform transports of this kind.
Does somebody have any reference?
Thanks,
Jon

Hi,
please follow this configuration guide.

  • Transport with CTS+ : Naming convention

    Hi SDNers,
    I need your suggestion.
    This is wrt CTS+.
    My doubt is:
I need to transport changes between the Dev, QA & Production system.
I have a repository in Development system: Repo_Dev
Now I want to create a repository in Quality / Production system, similar to Repo_Dev , but with different Repository names as Repo_QS /  Repo_Prod respectively.  My doubt is, will I be able to create the repositories in the Quality or Production systems with the name I want.... or is it because I am using CTS.. it will create a repository with the same name i.e Repo_Dev.
With reference to the SAP document "Setup und Use the MDM Change Transport with CTS+ Transport Management Environment", my understading is to
    1. Create a repository in QS / Production side.
    2. Using the option "Create Transport Reference" , I will get a reference file of Repo_Dev.
    3. Then Import the reference file in the Repo_QS / Repo_Prod will result in synchronisation between all 3 (Repo_Dev, Repo_QS, Repo_Prod ) repositories.
This way I can have the same Data modelling etc in all the 3 repositories, with the naming convention as required.
If anyone has worked on it... please confirm it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priti Rani Patnaik

    Hi Priti,
For transport with CTS+ you need to follow the steps which you have mentioned. You need to create a repository and then import the ref. in this repository. By doing so you are only importing the tables and fields present in your Dev repository. The sync between all three is only related to data modelling and it will not effect the name of reposiotry as you have already created a repository and I guess renaming of repository is not possible.
I hope I am able to help you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • CTS+ to transport OMA files in CLM

    Hi Experts,
I am looking for processs for change management in CLM to transport changes to other environment like Development and Production.
Can we use CTS+ to transport OMA file for CLM?
Is there any tools to transport the change for CLM?
    Thank you in advance,
    Noppong Jinbunluphol

    Hi Noppong,
Sourcing is not natively integrated with CTS, so it can't be used for transporting changes between Sourcing landscapes. I have seen customers use sharepoint or similar tools as a place to manage the OMAs. So the process would be, oma is created using export functionality on the source system, the created oma (with a naming format such as appending the ticket #, etc) is uploaded to Sharepoint for approvals. Once the transport approvals are completed, person with appropriate import access downloads the file from Sharepoint and imports it into the destination system.
It will be good to understand if there are other better ways this has been managed.
    Hope this helps.

    Vikram

  • Problem in transports EP with CTS+

    Hi gurus,
    We installed Solution Manager 4.0 SPS13 and 2 Portals 7.0 SPS13.
Solution Manager is configured as Domain Controller and configured the
TMS with all the systems. The Transport Routes are Portal DEV --> Portal PRO.
We have the configuration indicated in:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/45/ec25370fdc3481e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
    The transport strategy is:
    WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY = Smart
    WBO_REL_ REQ_STRATEGY = Auto
We created a transport order in the CTS+ Browser  (Standard Request), but when we try to export a package in the Portal DEV shows the error: "<i>No valid transport request found</i>".
The same error is displayed if in the CTS+ Browser there isn't transport order created.
    Kind Regards

We restarted all servers and it seems that this problem has been solved.
Now, we have the following problem when we trying release the order:

  • Files with .a extension using ftp transport

    Hi.
Am using ftp adapter in osb to read .txt files(e.g. abcd.txt) from ftp location, process the body/text() in OSB and then place the incoming file to an outbound folder.
the flow is like ftp-> Proxy Service->Business Service->outbound ftp
the service works fine where then is less load or the no. of incoming files is less.
However, sometimes the outbound folder contains the files with .a extension at the end.(e.g. abcd.txt.a)
Can someone tell me the rootcause of these .a file creation and the scenarios in which the .a files are created.
Also, please tell me what are these .a files meant for?
How,can I eliminate this while configuring the services using ftp transport.
    Thanks in adavance

I had this recently with a variety of FTP servers, FileZilla, Microsoft etc.
For me, it happened when the file already exists in the destination and I was expecting the destination file to be overwritten. My application would generate the same filename, say FileA.txt and expect that to be overwritten, but with OSB 10gR3 I would get files with .a stuck on the end.
This functionality changed between ALSB and OSB and I had a patch developed to restore the ALSB functionality.
I spent ages looking at it, and debugging FTP commands and going from memory, I'm pretty certain that the FTP adapter doesn't implement the correct FTP spec for the RNFR command according to the RFC in the case where a file already exists - it doesn't handle overwrite.
    Hope that may help.

  • What is the transport protocol File (Axis) in the SOAP Adapter

    Hi,
for a SOAP Receiver Adapter it's possible to choose 'File (Axis)' as transport protocol.
How does it work and is there some documentation about it?
    Thanks and regards
    Patrick

    Hi,
    thanks for your answers.
    @Prateek
Yes I tried -> Doesn't say so much
    @Vinod
The first thread didn't helped me and I have seen already the second one.
    @kummari
The question is how can I use it?
    @Gabriel
    >The adapter uses transport protocol(File (Axis)) to send SOAP messages as text file
Could you please explain it a little more detailed (maybe with an example)?
My question is about in which scenarios it makes sense to use this transport protocol and how is it used?
    Thanks and regards

  • Is there a way to see the details of transport request files

    hello friends
for some reason when I try to create a package with objects like function group and function modules, I am not able to import the function modules on the other server.
So i would like to see if the transport request files that I have created (K900226.EC1 and R900226.EC1) has these modules included in them.
Is there a way that I can see what objects are included in the released transport request files.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
You can see the objects included in a transport request by going to se09 and opening your transport request and drill down to the task and below the task you would have all the objects that are included in the tranport. You can also use se03 to get the details by drilling down the tansport request.
The problem with importing the function module might be because either the function module or the function group may not be active which may cause the tranport to fail. please check if both are active or not.

  • Deploy a MUP-file with clientupgradeservice on Mobile Client

    Hello CRM-Gurus,
i wanna deploy a MUP-File, which i have sent via CRM-Server to the client, on a mobile client.
The clientupgradeservice was running, but nothing happens.
I have imported the WB-Bdocs with conntrans. But I can't find neither  the Upgrade-file with the mup nor the log-file of the upgrade!
If there someone, who knows what i have to do , so that the upgrade works fine?
    best regards
      Wolfgang

    Hi,
    check the following:
    - the transport service is running in the MRS
    - the necessary settings for the service have been set
    - the service has been set up for the correct client
    - in Tx smobrepmain the option "upgrade clients allowed" is set
    - the sites have the both workbench subscriptions (language dependent/independent)
    - Tx smohqueue is running, not on hold
    - restart the service directly after sending a package or change the polling interval to a smaller value (or wait...)

  • No transport provider registered with ID: email

    Hello,
We are running Oracle Service Bus 11.1 on WebLogic Server 10.3.6.0, which runs on Linux.
We are trying to send SLA alerts through email, but we are receiving the following error:
Internal error occured in OSBConsole : No transport provider registered with ID: email
Checking the Deployment section on the WLS Console, I can see that the Email Transport Provider is Active and OK (with a green check mark) in the in the Health column.
Any ideas what is going on here, and how I can register the Email Transport Provider?
    Appreciate the help,
    Arie

Do you see any other exceptions when you start the servers and when you try to generate an email alert?
    Check the server out file.

  • Transporting KM Content with WebDAV or ICE?

    Hello all,
does anybody know what are the main differences between transporting KM content (folders, files,…) with ICE and WebDAV? Especially in the scope of transmitted data.
About transporting KM Content with ICE I found a lot of Information, e.g. predefined properties and ACL’s are transmitted but no service ACL,….
But how is it with WebDAV?
Our idea is to to use the WebDAV repository manager to access the development portal (source)and make its content available for read and write access in Content Management of the test portal (destination). After that we want to transmit the data per copy & paste from the WebDAV repository (source) to the destination folder.
Which datas will be transported <i>(acl’s, predefined properties, custom properties, system properties and folder settings like approval, versioning, manual ordering…..)</i>?
Is there any documentation about this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Best regards
    Nicole

That's not really a WebDAV question. The KM's copy command copies a certain set of information, no matter what the repository manager is.
This includes content and custom properties, but that's it.
    Best regards, Julian

  • Reading large file with JCA Adapter in OSB

    Hello,
We are searching for a solution how to read large file (>50M) from network drive and deliver it to queue via OSB 11gR4 (10.3.4). The problem is when reading the file with JCA File Adapter. It seems that it cannot handle as large files as we have. The documentation provides a way to bypass file size limitation by using Chunk Read but it seems to require BPEL Process execution which is not possible in our environment. Does anyone know if there are ways to implement this without having BPEL Process?
    Our usecase:
read file from network drive -> transfer with OSB -> deliver MQ
Other options than JCA File Adapter can be considered, if anyone can advice...

If it's a plain routing use case and no message processing is required then you may simply use OSB's FILE transport instead of JCA adapter. Create a messaging type proxy service and select request message type as "binary". Also enable the content streaming (Disk buffer, compression).
    From OSB Dev guide -
Oracle JCA Adapter for FTP and Files – Attachments (large payload support), pre- and post-processing of files, using a re-entrant valve for processing ZIP files, content streaming, and file chunked read are not supported with Oracle Service Bus.

  • How to install transport request files into the SAP system

    Hi Experts,
I want to install transport request files into my SAP source and target system . I am from BW/BI background so can anyone help me out with the step by step procedure for the above installation.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Shiva

    Hi,
What I understand is, you want to transport request from one server to another.
for example, Development to Qualtiy or Quality to Production.
For this your transport system must be configured. Please search help.sap.com or google for "How to configure Transport System (STMS)".
If you want to copy transport request from one system to another system which is not in your landscape, you need to physically move/copy transport request (cofile and datafile) to the target system in /usr/sap/trans/cofiles and /usr/sap/trans/data
Then import that request using SCC1.
You can alos perform TEST import for result.
    Regards.

  • Quicktime Pro won't open an MPEG movie file with the Quicktime icon

What am I missing? Not getting? I have several MPEG movie files that proudly sport the Quicktime icon, but the Quicktime app tells me they're not movie files.
If Quicktime won't open them, is there conversion software I can use?
    So much for productivity.

Didn't even consider it. I thought that because the file displayed the Quicktime icon and because I have Quicktime Pro, that Quicktime would play the file.
Unfortunately, this is a common misconception. However, now that you understand the problem, you can work on a solution. Basically, if by MPEG your are referring to common MPEG-2/MP2 content 'multiplexed" to an MPEG container, these can be played in the QT Player (or Front Row or iTunes) if you install the QT MPEG-2 Playback component ($19.99). However, be advised that this is a video only component, so it does not make "muxed" AC3 MPEG-2 files playback compatible with the QT player. Luckily, if you do decide to install this component, the free MPEG Streamclip application will allow you to play or convert such files to any QT compatible audio and video format for which you system is configured. Or, if all you want to do is play MPEG-2 video files without investing in the QT component, then you can view them with VLC but may have trouble converting them to a QT compatible format. HandBrake will also convert them without investing in the MPEG-2 component, but greatly limits your conversion possibilities. I personally would recommend buying the component as Neil recommended since it offers the greatest flexibility for playing without conversion, as well as, the most conversion options for all normal MPEP-2 Program and Transport Stream files you are likely to encounter using QT 7 Pro and/or MPEG Streamclip depending on the specific source content what you want to do with the final files.
