TS3147 Canon printer will not scan with OS X 10.8

I have a Canon MX870 printer. When I upgraded to OS X ver 10.8, my scanner wouldn't work. When I opened Canon's MP Navigator 2.2, a window opens & says "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly". I downloaded the driver for 10.8 from Canon. So I now have MP Navigator EX 3.1 instead of 2.2. When I open MP Navigator EX 3.1, a window opens & says "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly". Please help!

Check the Canon site for v10.8 Mountain Lion supported drivers (software).

This is because HP has not provided network USB drivers to allow scanning when the all-in-one is connected to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme.
HP has only provided drivers to allow printing when the all-in-one is connected to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme. To be fair, other manufacturers who offer all-in-one products do the same thing.
If you need to scan documents, you will need to connect the all-in-one to the USB port on your computer....until HP offers full featured network USB drivers. Check with HP Support for possible progress in this regard.
If your all-in-one happens to offer wireless connection options or wired Ethernet options to connect to your network, you should have full functionality that way.

After updating to WIndows 10, I can print but not scan with my HP 2210 all in one

Hi , and I see you are both having trouble scanning after upgrading to Windows 10, and I may be able to help. Most products do have updated software available on HP's support website for Windows 10. I've also seen a few posts that say the Windows 8.1 driver will work for Windows 10 as well, so you could try that too. HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. I recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, if it doesn't fix it automatically let me know what errors or messages you receive. Do you know if you are able to scan using Paint? Wireless printer will not scan or connect to computer

HP Photosmart 7510 wireless used with Windows 7 OS. The scan feature will not scan to my computer. It will scan to a memory card. The error message is that the computer is not connected. HP P1102w Wireless Printer will not pair with a Motorola SBG6782-AC Wireless Cable Modem Gateway

I previously had AT&T U-verse Internet using an Arris IPDSL NVG510 Wireless Modem Gateway. My HP Laptop running Windows 8.1 and the HP LasrJet Pro P1102w Wireless Prnter routinely & automatically connected to the NVG510 Wireless Network without any problems over the past two years, and the wireless Printer worked without problems. I recently replaced the AT&T U-verse Internet connection with a 25 Mbs Comcast Xfinity Intrnet connection, using a Motorola Arris SURFboard SBG6782-AC Wireless Cable Modem Gateway. My HP Laptop running Win 8.1 Pro connects to the Network and accesses the Internet with no problems what-so-ever; However, the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w wireless Printer does connect to the Wireless network and I cannot Print at all from my laptop. I have tried all the P1102w Wireless Printer Setup suggestions from the HP Printer Support Site, but to no avail. I have also updated the Printer Firmware and Loaded the latest Full Product Installation & Driver Software. I have tried and re-tried these suggestions over the last two days, but with no luck. I would greatly appreciately any help from the experts in this Forum. to get the printer to work wirelessly, since we also wirelessly print to this printer from IPads and other wireless laptops.

Hi , I see that you are having issues connecting the printer to the new router. I would like to help you. I would reset the printer first to clear out any previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise. Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
Printing a Configuration Page. If the network name has any spaces or special characters, the printer may not recognize it. The printer is only capable of sending/receiving in the 2.4 ghz band. If it is set to 5 GHZ network you may need to change to 2.4 ghz. (rename the 5 ghz or shut it off)
The WPA key setting needs to be on AES to work correctly not TKIP.Multi casting needs to be turned on.
Firewall on router has to have open ports for printer.
If you have Mac Filtering you need to give printer hardware address from Configuration page.You might need to contact your router company for further assistance to check those settings. Try running the Wireless Configuration Wizard from the HP software to configure the printer over the network. Cartridge Out Override can be enabled from the Control Panel menu of the HP Color LaserJet CM2320 Printer, as follows:
1. Press OK to open the menus.
2. Press the left arrow ( < or right arrow ( > ) button to navigate to System Setup , and then press OK .
3. Press the left arrow ( < ) or right arrow > ) button to navigate to Print Quality , and then press OK .
4. Press the left arrow ( < )or right arrow ( > button to navigate to Replace Supplies sub-menu, and then press OK .
5. Press the left arrow ( < or right arrow ( > button to navigate to Override at Out option, and then press OK to enable the Override feature or select Stop at out to disable the Override feature.
6. Press X to exit the menus.
If Stop at out is selected, the printer will stop printing when a cartridge reaches the recommended replacement point. If Override out is selected, the printer will continue printing when a cartridge reaches the recommended replacement point. The factory default setting is Stop at out .

HP Office Jet J6480 All In One - will not scan with Mac OS 10.8 .3

I have been unable to get my HP Office Jet J6480 All In One to scan after upgrading to 10.8.3.I have followed other posts and have installed the most up to date driver (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907) but each time i try to scan from the HP device manager or the photosmart studio, it says "Sorry, scanner could not be intialized. (scanner not found)" I have tried making sure there are no other updates by clicking on settings in the device manager and clicking check for updates but it tells me "server not availalbe - the software service is currently not available. please try again later" and i have gotten this error for the last week.
I followed the second set of instructions found here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-Software-Update-Server-Unavailable/td-p/18... to try to resolve that issue and have installed the software found at the link. I rebooted my computer and am still having the same problem.
Note: My printer is wireless and i have not hooked it up via a cord. Will that make a difference?
My printer seems to be printing fine.

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

Epson Printer will not work with Pagemaker 6.5

I am having a problem with my Mac I run Jaguar 1.3X on it with OS9 which pagemaker runs under.
I can print with every application and print information from the internet, but can not print my PageMaker files. Is there a fix out there for this or do I have to upgrade to a newer OS?

Some programs do not work as well under Classic as they do under native OS9 and you may be encountering this. Pagemaker may be having a hard time talking to the OSX generation of printer drivers. You can check [Gutenprint drivers|http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php] for an alternate set of drivers, but I don't know much about them or Jaguar OS... I would not be over optimistic about getting a newer version of OSX to assist. What version of OS9 are you using for Classic? You could try changing that, especially if there is a newer version.

I'm on a Windows 7 right now so can't give you anything further, not being on the same OS. Portable Devices should be showing and is not with your 8.1 system or Mass Storage. The driver to recognize the phone comes from Microsoft not the phone or Verizon as most people think. I'd do a internet search on the Samsung 5 with Windows 8.1 or perhaps someone may show up with info. Sorry I can't be of more help.

OK so I am at a loss I know the communication is the issue. I used this without problem from install till I had to have the computer crashed. Any help ? I have tried installing twice and the doc numerous times.

HP Laserjet ProP1102 will not connect with my MacBook Pro

My new Macbook Pro with Yosemite will not print on this printer. It did do so a few days ago but not anymore. In wireless mode it will not communicate with the printer (or the printer will not communicate with it.) When connected with a wire the printer does not respond.
On my old MacPro with Mountain Lion it will print with a wire but not without.
There was a fleeting mysterious notice saying i needed a software update but I cannot find anything to this effect on the HP website.

I read your post and see that you are unable to print by a USB or Wireless connection. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. (sometimes the EWS won't open if it isn't set as the default)
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
Restore the printer's default wireless settings:
1. Turn the product off.
2. Press and hold the wireless button and the cancel button and then turn the product on.
3. Hold the buttons until the printer stops making noise, then release the buttons.
Print a a Configuration Page to make sure the IPv4 and SSID are cleared of the old settings.
Printing a Configuration Page.
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
Restart the computer..
Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Follow this document to reconfigure the printer over the wireless network.

Under OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.9 Mavericks and OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion select Method three: Wireless setup using a USB connection.
