All of a sudden when I try and sync my iPhone or iPad to my iMac it freezes. The beachball rolls and rolls around. I have downlaoded all updates but no fix!

Click the green button in the top left corner of the window to resize it. If you can't reach the button, drag the window to the right by its title bar. You can further resize by dragging any of the edges or corners. Once you've resized the window, Safari should remember the size.

I try to do an Open DNS which was advised to me a few years ago, and it did help at that time, but now when I try it, choosing a new location, I see :

Open System Preferences / Network. Click the Advanced tab. Then select the DNS tab.
Click+
Add these numbers exactly as you see them here; 208.67.222.222
Click+ again
Add these numbers: 208.67.220.220
Click Ok.
Restart your Mac.
If Safari crashes again, post a crash report.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

All of a sudden when i try to attach an iphoto to an email or facebook i get a message that say i need i photo 5 or later and my pictures are not available

First I have Mac OSX 10.6.8
I photo 8.1.2
All of a sudden when I attempt to download a photo from Iphoto to an email attachment or to facebook, I get a message that says I need to :
"open Iphoto 5 or later to see photos from your Iphoto library in this list" it shows in light grey.
AS I mentioned above, I have 8.1.2 and my photos are all available when I go to the photo app.
I read to delete iphoto from the library which i did but that didn't help and maybe was a mistake? And if it was how do I fix that?
I have searched the web to no resolve. I also see that I do not have the latest version of iphoto but when I check for updates it says there are none available.
What happened and how can I fix it! HELP!
I'm not very computer savvy so I appreciate simple instructions.

1. Try reinstall iLIfe 09 from your install disk
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
If that fails, then you're reinstalling the OS.

Summoning max. courage, I did what you advised. Here is the result. What does this tell you? My Lion 7.2 (mid 2011 iMac) has several annoying glitches (which I have so far tolerated through gritted teeth) but none that have actually stopped me working.
BTW, I see several items involving CleanMyMac which I did not know I had. It is generally villified as a trouble-maker. Spotlight can't find an app. or a utility of that name. How can I get rid of what's there please? Just delete?

All of a sudden when I try to download a pdf from the web, all I get is a black blank screen. I trashed the safari plug-ins and still it is blank

when I try to download a pdf file with safari, all I get is a black screen!

Open a Finder window then from the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go.
If you see the: AdobePDFViewer plugin in the Internet Plug-Ins folder, move it to the trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try downloading a PDF file.

HT1657 Why do my movie downloads recently playback with no audio/visual? I just get a black screen. It's happened to 3 movies I have downloaded in the past week or two. I never had this problem before. Why do I now?

Why do I have download issues all of a sudden: black scrren, no video,audio, visual, just a black screen. It's happened 3 times in the past two weeks! After two downloads, it was still an issue. At least iTunes gave me a refund, but this is frustrating because I like to download and watch films and tv shows! Thanks for any helpful feedback. iTunes reps don't tell me why there is a problem. They just issue a refund and send me on my way!

It is easy enough to try. Drag the MacKeeper.app to the trash. It should pop-up a message asking if you really want to delete. You do. 2 TB internal with 1.4 TB available
Two WD external hard drives
No app Not Responding
No huge draw on CPU cycles
Permissions repaired
Disk defragged
AND YET, I open up a Word document (not just a specific one), or I start up an application, or I change a Calendar date...
And I get a Spinning Beach Ball for several seconds (a lifetime)
What gives!?!?
This is embarrassing.
This can't be right!

When you checked that, did you change Activity Monitor's "Show" option from its default of "My Processes" to "All Processes?"
If not, then you would not see where the big hitters in the over-eating of processor cycles reside.
If you did have AM thus set, then what you decribe sounds like you may have installed a third-party anti-virus/internet security software package or one of those awful "I'll clean you Mac" programs.
Try with the WD drives disconnected. WD bare drives are great but their enclosures are abysmal. I had one on both a PowerPC G4 tower and my i7 iMac and it dragged down the performance of the computer. I ripped open the cheap WD enclosure and installed the perfectly good bare drive in a enclosure from OWS and it works flawlessly without making my computer feel like its got syrup dripping inside.
I don't see an iMac with a 3.8Ghz i7 processor. What does "About this Mac" in your Apple menu say about your processor?
If there are no AV or cleaning apps installed and you comptuer is still in warranty, I'd think about making an appointment with the Apple Genius bar.

Please enable guest logins and log in as Guest. Launch Safari and test. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and disable it if you wish.

IMac 21.5 inch mid 2010 the beach ball comes out and won't let me do anything

As soon as I login to my iMac, the beachball comes out and won't let me do anything. I can't even force quit or shut down computer.

Insert your original install disc and start up while holding the C key. Choose your language and at the next screen instead of starting the installer go to the menu bar on top and click the Utilities menu, select Disk Utility. See if you can repair your hard drive. Also while you're in DU look towards the bottom of the window and check the SMART status of your hard drive, it needs to say verified.

All of a sudden when I try to add footage to my sequence only the audio will go in.

This was not happening last week on the same project, I was pretty well into it when this stared.
I've tried everything I can think of, restarting everything, trying footage from other jobs, making a new project, new sequence. The video layers are not locked . . . but every time the audio comes in and I get the circle with the cross through it for the video. I'm on PPro version 7.2.1. for Mac. All I can think to do is re-install.

Right click the printer in System Prefences - Print & Scan and use Reset Printing System... and then reinstall the printer, should take less than 5 minutes. Here is a photo showing how to Reset Printing System....
