Two emails one account

I have two email address for me and my wife on one account (Which proved to be completed at times) and I would like to do family sharing, but it will
not let me saying that I can not share with myself. How can I retain both email addresses and have family sharing?
Any help will be appreciated

I do not have an alias Apple ID.
I would like to move an existing email account to a new iTunes account. However, when I register for a new account
with the email account is says email already exist. So, if I delete the existing email account from my account. will
i be able to open a new account with that existing email account.
The reason is I have two email accounts on the same iTunes account and I would like to move one email account
to a new iTunes account for my wife so she can have her own account and not change your email address.
If there is no other way to accomplish this then how long does it take to use an existing email account with iTunes
once I delete it from my iTunes account or can I call Apple to arrange a new account?

We have two devices, one account. We are able to access the account from either device. We will be spending the summer seperated by 2500 miles.  If we want to Skype each other, do we need to create another account?

Hi, Syringagal, and welcome to the Community,
Yes, absolutely, one of you will need to create a new Skype account to use.  The reason why is simple: a Skype account cannot call itself!  After the account is created, one of you needs to send the other a contact invitation, which the recipient will accept.

  • Two iPhones, One account. Contacts overwritten

I have two iPhones linked to one account, since using iCloud my daughter's iPhone contacts have overwritten the contacts on my phone and mac. Is there any way of getting them back? I've tried restoring but it looks like its been that what way for a while, I didn't realise because I usually make calls from favourites and most of those where also on her phone.

Sorted problem using Address Book Help on mac. I should not have underestimated how good it can be.
Just needed to attach my external drive, Open Address Book, then open Time Machine, that way I could view the contents of my previous Address Books. When a date was found holding all my contacts I highlighted them then restored. So easy when you know how.

  • Two macs one account

Can someone point me in the right direction, ive just bought a new imac and will be keeping my older powerbook G4. both macs are connected to my even older G3 Powermac which is running debian etch and is running samba as a file server.
I had my file server and samba setup as a PDC in the past for the days of using windows but have now gone all mac what id like to do is have both machines link to the server for authentication so that there is only one account stored on the server for each user. Id like to be able to logon to the imac then logon to the powerbook and have all the same files desktop etc and dont want to use the apple internet thing (sorry cant remember name)
my powerbook is running tiger at the moment but will get a license of leopard if this would make things easier, also would the server be better running osx server to achieve this or can it be done with samba and if so does anyone have any pointers
    thanks
    John

You can sync the iPod to either computer, but the iPod will mirror the library on the computer you've just synced with. The transfer is one-way -- from computer to iPod. The exception is iTunes purchases, which can be transferred from the iPod back to the computer.

  • Two users, one account, two separate email accounts

I recently upgraded my iMac 17" G5 to a 24" Core 2 Duo and I would like to set it up with one administrator account since it is only myself and my girlfriend that will be using this computer. Can I have this one user account and use Mail for both of our Mobile Me accounts, but not have Mail group everything into one inbox? I know I can set up the multiple accounts in Mail, but it then groups both of our inboxes into one. Is there any way to separate our Mail accounts without creating separate user accounts and having to switch each time one of us sits down?
    Thanks

No. that's what separate user accounts are for. either use that or have all mail in the same inbox. however, the whole inbox has submailboxes fro each email account and those are separate.

  • Have two ipads one account, to facetime with wifes ipad i need to make a differant id the way i understand it,my ipad has a space for another contact but on hers it only has sign in and pass. do i cancel my id on hers and enter her own email

    on her ipad there is only my id and a space for password, do I cancel my id and put in her email , then and her email to my ipad where it says another contact, confused;

Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If your friend wants to be able to manage apps on their device using their own Apple ID, they will need to delete all the apps purchased using your Apple ID and buy their own.
Hopefully, you just updated your own Apple ID with the new email and didn't make the mistake of creating a new Apple ID. If you created a new ID, stop using it now, don't buy anything using it and go back and update the ID under which you purchased your apps.

  • Two emails one must require password entered

I have two hotmail email accounts ...one must be private password protected with its own contact address file..  How do I set up the private one?
The non private one is set up and appears when I touch "mail"

OK I signed out of itunes and then signed back in on my IPad 3.  Now I tried to download an app but it just says "waiting" but nothing is happening, after 10 miniutes.  The IPad mini was my grandson's and I did link it with my IPad 3..

  • HT5622 What is the purpose of having two emails one for iCloud one for Apple ID

Why would I use two different emails and passwords? What is the benefits if I use one email for iCloud and one for my Apple ID .

From where I have seen this most helpful is when you have multiple people (family memebers) sharing one Apple ID/iCloud account and you run out of the free 5GB iCloud back up space since there are many devices backing up to the same account.
We've seen students using his/her parents or family Apple ID/iCloud account and when they go to back up their device or apps with data connected to iCloud (like iMovie/Notability), it won't back up b/c they are out of space. Mom's iPhone with 4GB of photos on it is hogging up all the iCloud back up storage so when Sally needs to back up her school iPad to iCloud, there's not enough space so her device/data doesn't back up completely. If Sally creates her own iCloud account, then she's got the full 5GB to use and doesn't have to worry about the other devices.
Also, if you had a work issued device and a personal device but use the same Apple ID- you could create different iCloud accounts for each device for back up. I myself use the same account- I don't seperate out mainly b/c I don't want to keep up with another apple account and I don't use a lot of apps that need to retain data.

  • Two phones, two computers, one account.

We each have iPhones and seperate computers, is it possible to share one iTune account on two computers and two phones or do we need individual accounts? If individual accounts are required, how can we share music and apps?

You can put the same itunes account on up to 5 authorized computers. Just make sure each computer is authorized: Store Authorize this Computer.

  • Two ipods one account

    Hi
I use my mum's laptop for my ipod and bought her one for christmas and forgot to log out when i set it up for her so we are now both on my Itunes account.  How do I go about separating the account.  Can I just set up another account for my mum and then plug her ipod in? Sorry if this is a very basic question but i'm a complete technophobe and i'm worried about deleting everything or making a mistake and not being able to use her email for another account etc.

  • One imac, two iphones. one account has current itunes, other side will not download current itunes. Downloaded from apple website, did not help. help?

We have one imac, two iphones, two imac/iphone user accounts. My account updated itunes and the phone quite easily. The other side will not update itunes  - it shows there is an update available, then says there is not. I tried installing from the apple store. It installed, but did not change the version of itunes active on the computer (we even turned it off and on, a la Windows).  SO we synced his phone with my side - it updated the OS, but otherwise restored the phone to factory settings. (he is not happy). So I tried to restore it from a backup on his side just to see what would happen, and of course it can't because the phone's software is more current that his itunes.
So we're in a maddening loop.  Factory settings, no updated itunes, no access to the backups.

The feed is fine. The problem lies with the URL for the media files. I checked the latest episode; the file will play in a browser, and as you say on the iTunes Store; but when subscribing there is an error message that the file requires authentication.
This would happen if you had password-protected it, but that would also appear when playing in a browser. The use of PHP or similar to serve the files is asking for trouble - sometimes it works, sometimes it upsets either the Store or subscribing or both. In this case it would seem that either the scripting is throwing iTunes and leading it to believe that a password is required (though it's not bringing up the pane asking for one), or your server is reacting differently to requests from the iTunes application to the way it reacts to requests from the Store or a browser, where the protocol is different.
It's not an iTunes problem. Strictly you should be putting the actual URL of the file in the feed, not a script; and you may need to check your server settings top make sure it allows downloading in iTunes as well as playing elsewhere.

  • Two iPhones, one account, 1 iPhone creates separate "Purchased" playlist

We have two iPhones and one iTunes account. When we buy music on one phone it creates a separate "Purchased on Blah Blah's iPhone" list when synced back to the computer. The other phones purchased music goes into our regular "Purchased" list. Kind of annoying, any fixes?
    Thanks

Correct you need 2 MobileMe accounts, a family setup will be fine.

  • Two ipads- one account or two?

We have an iPad2, and I just got an ipad3 for me. Should we have separate accounts? I don't want his apps on mine, and he doesnt mine on his.  Will one of us lose all the apps we paid for if we separate the accounts?

You will not lose the apps on the iPad that the apps were downloaded onto - in other words - whoever's Apple ID was used to purchase those apps will always be able to download those apps again for free.
If you set up a separate account for the other iPad - you will have to buy those apps again.
Like Ford Yuki - I have several iDevices - five actually - all using the same Apple ID and iTunes library - you don't even need separate libraries at all - and all 5 iDevices have their own unique content on them - and yet we can share the same apps on all 5 since we are using just one Apple ID.

  • IMessage two users, one account

    Hi,
I have had an iTunes account for a while now. Lots of music and so forth. My wife recently purchased an iPhone so now we have two users on the same account. Everything's fine except for iMessages. We are both receiving each others IMessages. Can I fix this without having to create two accounts? We want to continue to share contacts, apps, music etc.
    Many thanks

    Thanks Penguin.
Will try when I'm home in a few days.
    Cheers.
