Type of users for bi reports

HI gurus,
I am planning to grant acces to bw reports to some portal users.
The portal users only would visualize iviews based on reports and or querys and will nbot interact with the bw backend system.
I am trying to avoid to create a user in the bw system for each portal user who need to consult the reports because of the sap license cost, but I do not have any idea how to map several portal users to one bw user?
Any idea or help will be welcome.
thanx in advance.

You can Broadcast by E-Mail (Bursting) for some users.....
This will avoid your license cost problem.... you can do email distribution more regular if you like them to get update sooner...
Have you checked this

  • Manual bypass to view all history entries of all user for one report

Test have been performed on standealone BIP 10.1.3.4.1 (Patch 11931697). May be it can be reproduced with previous versions and/or other J2EE container.
Problem is now described in Oracle Support with bug ID : 12412334
Bypass solution may be helpful for people who use work directly in BIP web interface or who integrate this web interface using HTTP URLs or HTTP/REST like custom app (and may be other cases...)
When logged with an admin username, you can view OR filter "ALL" history of one all users for one report by typing an url like :
    http://BIP/xmlpserver/servlet/reporthistory?report_url=/REPORT_DIR_PATH/XDO_NAME/XDO_NAME.xdo&tfilter=all
    Where :
    BIP is BIP Server DNS
REPORT_DIR_PATH is report directory path in BIP web interface
    XDO_NAME is report's name

I don't think there is a way. There should be, but I've never seen it.

  • Standard driver programs, output type ,scripts, smartforms for SD reports

    hi experts,
Can any one list all the standard driver programs, output types ,scripts, smartforms for SD reports.
    mani

    Hi,
    Check this out
    NACE
You can track the form and the print program used for that form
The Tcode NACE is used to link the Standard SAP forms (SCRIPTFORM or SMARTFORM) or the customized form or the new form to its respective print programs. Also the output types, Form entry are linked with their forms and print programs. In short term, i can tell u that configuration or customization of forms to print programs, assigning output types, form entry to the forms are done using this Tcode.
NACE is used to create output type while creating the output type you will mention forms, and driver program.
that will be maintained in the table TNAPR.if you create the output type using NACE then it will be automatically visible in table NAST and TNAPR.
so check in NAST, TNAPR table

Two options: 1. In configuration manager on the AW, use the user list tool to add the users domain account and select Webview access permissions. 2. Using standard Microsoft Active Directory tools or the Cisco Domain Manager tool, add the desired AD user account into one of the "WebView" security groups created within the Cisco OU.

  • Which user type to user for RFC receiver channel

    Hi Forum,
I m developing XI scenarios which include RFC receiver chhanel (in IB: Integration Directory), to call a function moule in a R/3,
which kind of user should i use for this purpose, i mean to say,
    which user type:
                    SYSTEM
                    Dialog
                    Communication
                    System
                    Reference
and what should be the roles of that user,
which type of the user doesnt gets locked, on wrong attempts

    Hi,
Generally S_RFC and S_SERVICE authorizations  are nedded while calling RFC module from R3. Also check for role S_RFC_ADM
The backend should have the authorization to execute the RFC on the backend.
You can test the module in R3 and create a role using PFCG assign the tcode - SU53 (authorization check) and also assign the S_RFC and S_SERVICE to role.
    Refer
    RFC Logon user authorizations
Question on service userid - for RFC call
    End User Authorizations and Roles
    Calling R3 RFC via http
For RFC different authorization object is requried. You can ask your basis team to add the relevant authorization object in a new role and then add the new role to any existing service user or better create a new system user and add the role.
    Thanks

is your report running inside SAP b1 or directly from crystal report in system where you developed it
In Client you need to install .net framework 3.5 and Crystal Run time to run reports.
in the client make sure the shared directory is accessible from run without any password
and in the add on go to report properties and set the path to the shared folder .rpt files and apply changes

  • Question on what CR 2008 report type to use for a report

    Post Author: JohnN
    CA Forum: General
    Hi all,
I am new to Crystal Reports and have been tasked with using Crystal Reports 2008 to create a report. I have attached an image of what the report needs to look like. The report needs to look like a table, with the 5 left columns being summary info and there can be multiple rows from the 6th column on for each summary row. I have looked through Crystal Reports samples but cannot see anything similar.
Question . Could someone give me some quick general pointers on how this report could be implemented with Crystal Reports 2008?
Thanks in advance for any help,

    Thanks sharonmtowler,
I had started to look at the second option you suggested but I cannot see any way of having multiple rows for the one summary row (i.e. the 5 left columns are summary info and there can be multiple rows from the 6th column on for each summary row). I don't see anyway of doing this in a detail section of the report. Up to now I have been familiar with setting up Report Groups then supplying a command to get the detail info. from a database. I haven't seen any examples of having a row with summary info and multiple sub-rows. Is there some other way of selecting data that I am not aware of that will let me get the mutliple sub-rows
    Thanks

  • Dffenter types of users for schemas

    hi all,
I would liek have a brief on the users below for aschema :
    1) Local User
    2) Secure user
    3) Reference User
    please help
    cheers,
    AJ

my TL asked me this. even i havent heard of this before so wanted to know and update him.
this is what i gave my TL------
    is it right ?
    As per my knowledge,
for these users its the permissions that differenciate them
local user: if the server is local, then the user also becomes local. with a user id and password.
all permissions will be provided to the user as it is local
secure user: here certian permissions are given based upon the requirements of the user. it can be ADD/DELETE/UPDATE etc
reference user: it is not a user thing which we think regularly. it is giving permissions as ' reference '.
grant command is used over here.
eg) if user A has table Ta and User B has Table Tb and
Table Tb is child table and needs foreign
              key on A.Ta then
we need to grant "references" object privillege to User B
              on table Ta.
query - GRANT select on table_name to nextuser(2nd user)
also in creating a table we use the reference user concept
              Eg) create table test_emp
                   (empno number(5),deptno number(5),constraint dept_ref
                   foreign key (deptno) references schema.dept(deptno))
As they have suggested secure user is the most apprpriate thing that can be used over here.

  • /SAPQUERY/HR_LSO_TRNG1 Object type 'US' User

    Hi ,
In InfoSet /SAPQUERY/HR_LSO_TRNG1 , I cannot change the "selection" in order to include the relation-ship to Object type 'US' User . Not in the list of "infotypes of related objects" under "change info-type selection"  in transaction SQ02 .
How can I add that ? Thank you

Hi The SAP Query comprises five components:
          Queries
          InfoSet Query
          InfoSets
          User Groups
          Translation/Query
Classic reporting- the creation of lists, statistics and ranked lists- are covered by the InfoSet Query and Queries components. Other componentsu2019 range of functions cover the maintenance of InfoSets, the administration of user groups and also the translation of texts created in the SAP Query. All data required by a user for a report can be read from various tables.
To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options, which determine the report layout. In the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) mode, you can edit the lists using Drag & Drop and various toolbars.
    Overview:
The following sections describes the individual SAP Query components and provides general information about query areas, transport and authorizations
Menu Path     Used For     Transaction Code
à SAP Query à Queries     Maintaining Queries     SQ01
à SAP Query à InfoSets     Maintaining InfoSets     SQ02
à SAP Query à User Groups     Maintaining User Groups     SQ03
    à Translation à Query     Language Comparision     SQ07
    Query Components
The Queries component is used by end users to maintain queries.
You can carry out the following tasks:
      Execute Queries and Generate Lists
          Define Queries
          Change Queries
    Infosets Components
      InfoSets are special views of data sources.
      An InfoSet describes which fields of a data source can be reported on in queries.
      InfoSets are assigned to user groups.
      End-users are able to work only with those InfoSets that are relevant to their particular area, as designated by the role or user group that they are assigned to.
      Eg: Vendor master data can be important in purchasing as well as in accountancy. The relevant InfoSet is assigned to both roles/user groups. This means that queries based on this InfoSet can be copied and executed by both groups.
    User Groups Components
    1.     The User Groups component is used to maintain user groups. The system administrator uses it to set up the work environment for end-users.
    2.     Every user assigned to the user group is able to execute the query.
    3.     Users are not allowed to modify queries from other user groups, although they may, under certain circumstances, copy and execute
    Translation/Query Component
      A great deal of text is generated when defining queries, InfoSets, and user groups.
      The SAP Query displays these texts in the language that you chose when you logged on to the SAP system.
      You can compare the text languages using the component Translation/Query.
      A related text in one or more additional languages is made available for each of the texts created when defining the query.
    Query Areas
A query area contains a set of query objects (queries, InfoSets, and user groups) that are discrete and consistent.
There are the following query areas:
          Standard area
          Global area
    Standard Area
    1.Client specific
2.Query objects are not attached to the Workbench Organizer
Advantage :-End users can develop queries (ad-hoc reports) in their own client that are not meant for use in the rest of the system.
    Global Area
    1.Cross client
2.Query objects are attached to workbench organizer
Advantage:-The global query area is well suited for centrally developing queries meant for use and distribution throughout the system.
    Authorizations
End-users, system administrators, and translators must all be assigned the appropriate authorizations allowing them to work with the SAP Query.
In order to give individual users targeted, specific rights, the following options are available:
          Roles/user groups
          Authorizations
    Steps to create a Query
    Step     Description     TCODE
1     Create a infoset or functional area     SQ02
2     Assignment of user group to infoset     SQ03
3     Creation of query based on infoset     SQ01
    Tools for Queries
The following are the tools to manage, create and change queries.
          Infoset Query
          Queries
          Quick viewer

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to display CN41N report data by WBS Profit center and WBS Project type as 2 Separate columns. These 2 fields are captured for each WBS and different for each WBS level.
Could you suggest the user exit to be used for CN41N report to add below fields
    1. WBS Profit center
    2. WBS Poject type
Thanks in advance for all the help.
    Regards
    Ashish

    Hi Ashish,
Hope you are doing good. Its been a long time.
I guess you wont find the fields Profit Center and Project type in the Change layout option. As an alternative you can make use of the Dynamic selection option as stated in one of the posts above.
    Attaching some pics for reference,
You will find the Project Type option under " Master Data WBS Element"
    Hope it helps.

  • User Interface Template for Interactive Report Region

In 3.2, where do we set the user interface template for Interactive Reports region?
No matter what out of the box theme I switch to, the Interactive Reports region shows the same. What and where do I change the template so that alternating rows use two different colors?

There is no template for Interactive Reports like for a "normal" report. You need to modify the CSS and supply your own for this to happen.
I believe most things are tagged with #apexir - firebug with Firebox is invaluable. This thread may help:

You probably need to update the password against the CDRDB datasource in SSRS Report manager, take a look at this article: http://lyncme.co.uk/microsoft-lync-server-2013/cannot-impersonate-user-for-data-source-cdrdb-rserrorimpersonatinguser-error/
