UCCX 8.5 Install w/ CUCM 9.1

Hi All,
My search foo doesn't seem to be finding what I am looking for, so a RTFM link or clue about my issue would be great.
I have CUCM 9.1.1 working in my lab and I am trying to get UCCX 8.5.1 talking to it, but I obviously have something wrong configured. The compatibility matrix says this combo is supported but if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.
Upon surfing to the web interface of the UCCX server, it asks for fresh install, then I click next and enter the user/pass for AXL (which I have verified is running and working), but get "CUCM Auth Failed because of CCMAXL Exception. Check the log" error when I click next.
I've looked at a few logs on each server but do not see anything about failed auth. Any idea which log I need to be looking at specifically?
One thing I probably should do is setup DNS which is currently not being used. The install guide says it's required, but wanted to check here first to see if anyone has gotten this to work without having my voice environment in DNS. This may be my problem.

Hi Max,
CCX 8.5.1 Base, 8.5.1SU1,SU2 are NOT compatible with CUCM 9.1.1
However 8.5.1SU3 and 8.5.1SU4 are compatible versions.

Could you please confirm the full version of CCX that you are using.

  • UCCX 7 Beta Install License

    I received my V7 Beta DVD's and have been installing them in VMWare. I have CUCM and Unity Connection up and running perfectly in VMWare. The installation of both applications used licenses provided during the installation. I did not have to add anything. The UCCX 7 install prompts for a license, and there are not any on the DVD or the system, nor were there any PAK keys provided to register one. Has anyone else either successfully gotten UCCX 7 Beta installed or had this same problem and found a resolution?

    Unless your IPT 2003 OS is bootlegged :-) the Microsoft product key is on the sticker on the outside of the CD sleeve. The OS for UCCX is kind of like the Sperian load for the older versions of CallManager, so you can't just use real Windows without knowing what to add/remove.

  • PXE Errors - new install of CUCM on UCS C series servers

    Hi All
    I'm in a middle of production install of CUCM , CUWL and IM and Presence on Cisco UCS Servers C220 and C240.
    Until last friday I borught the CUCM cluster along with CUWL server online and lastly just completed the install of IM and Presence PUB left home.
    Then tried logging on Sunday from home via vSphere client unable to connect to these boxes and the webURL's either of apps didn't work.
    I presumed something and then tried to gain access via CIMC port and after launching KVM console I see the attached PXE errors.?
    I'm not sure why this happend all of a sudden nothing changed in the boot order nor in the network.
    Please send me into right direction....this structure I had up and running from last one week and phones registered too.

    Never mind I figured it out myself and you'll surpised how fragile the UCS C series servers are as I was running them on single power supply and the inside hardware was acting weird for this purpose and once I connected the second power supply and rebooted the server the vmware loads and everything is back online.

  • UCCX 5 Seat Bundle with CUCM

    Hi.
    Currently we have a customer with CUCM 8.6 cluster. Customer also deployed a UCCX System with Premium seats. Now customer would like to add to that UCCX system the 5 seats that comes with the CUCM 8.6 cluster. Is that doable? I know that in order to use the 5 enhanced seats that comes with new CUCM Deployments we need to buy a part number ($2995) to be able to install the software, database, etc. But now the the customer already have a UCCX deployment.. can he use the 5 enhanced seats... upgrading them to premium first and then loading the licenses on the new system.
    I'm going to open a case with licensing but I want to check here first.

    Hi Haitham,
    Its is compatiable with both MCS and UCS servers. I think you need to register your PAK and contact [email protected] for mentioning about your License MAC (type show status on the CLI after you install UCCX on UCS server) to get the appropriate license.
    There are limitations on the maximum IVR ports in the UCCX system.
    Maximum IVR ports=2*No of Agent seat counts till you reach the hardware capacity limits say for an example say MCS 7845 seres boxes support a maximum of 300 Licensed IVR ports, after you increase your Agent seat count from 150 onwards the licensed IVR ports will not increase as it has its its max capacity in this hardware.
    Coming back to your question, yes in order to increase the IVR ports you need to oreder more Agent Seat counts.

  • Install of CUCM 8.6.1.10000-43 on VMWare fails on installing progmeter

    Hi, Everyone
    First time post here, and first time installing CUCM (any version).
    I built a VM using a downloaded OVA template for CUCM 6.5.1.10000-43, and the install fails with a critical stop.  Once I figured out how to dump logs to the virtual serial port, and looked at the install.log, I found the following information that looks like where the install failed (these are the only LVL::Error and LVL::Critical messages in the log).
    It looks like install failed to install the progmeter application component.
    Does anyone know what this app does?  Any ideas on why it might have failed to install and possible workaround?
    I may already have the answer to the question, as I'm attempting install on a VM running on VMWare vServer (rather than ESX/ESXi/vSphere).  It is possible that simply being on an unsupported configuration is my problem.  I'm trying to work with the equipment immediately available to me, but fully understand that I may have set myself up for failure by even attempting this.
    Any help is appreciated greatly.

    I am trying to run call manager 8.6.1 on the following enviroment
    VMware ESXI 4.1
    4GB of RAM
    80 GB HDD Space
    I have allocated the VM one CPU
    In regards to vsergeyey reponse I have checked the network adapter and this is flexible.
    I have run the OVA template firstly before mounting the image
    I have tried installing numerous times.
    Each and every time near the "Installing Database Component" I get the following error;

  • UCCX HA server install

    HI all
    I wanted to know what would be the steps involved in installing a HA server for UCCX? We had a consultant come out to do our upgrades of our other UC products and the server was delayed and the consultant was moved to another project last week. This was the last piece that he was waiting for but it never came. And now I have confirmation that it will be here next week. I've spoken to the consultant and he says that the install isn't hard to get it up and running. I just want to know is there something that I can follow step by step to get this done with no trouble.Thanks in advance for the help and have a great day.

    First thing to do is aquire your HA license, and upload it to your UCCX server.
    Then build the 2nd server with the install media, remembering to selecting NO when it asks you if it's the first node in the cluster. (Covered in pg4 of the doc below).
    Then once the server is built, you'll need to configure it, following the instructions on pg 73. This involves adding the second server on the first node, then you can log in to the second server's appadmin pages and complete the setup there.

  • UCCX 7.0 Install Configuration Error

    I have a UCCX 7.0 installation that I have patched to 7.0(1) sr5 per a previous post.  The layout is thus:
    CMBE 7.1(3) with LDAP integration
    UCCX 7.0(1)sr5
    I have created the following users in Active Directory:
    AXLAdmin
    jtapiUser
    rmcmUser
    When performing the integration portion in AppAdmin, I add the CTI and rmcm Servers and propogate with the jtapiUser and rmcmUser accounts respectively, however, this seems to be failing and I'm not sure where.  I believe it to be due to the LDAP integration since, IIRC, the jtapi user is created by UCCX but since CMBE is LDAP, this negates adding users (like I said, I don't recall if the jtapi user is created by UCCX).
    Nonetheless, I have created the accounts in LDAP and they show up in CallManager.
    The error I am receiving is:
    User Configuration
         Configuration - Error
    Error occurred while performing the operation. Please contact your System Administrator. You may refer to Application Administration logs for more details
    Additionally, the logs are showing all sorts of things:
    MADM: LIB_AXL-3-EXCEPTION in <bunches of places>
    MADM-ADM_CFG-7-UNK:CallManagerConfigServlet.writeRmcmConfig - Error in writing JTAPI Config data.
    As I mentioned, I read a post that stated patching the box fixes this, however, that did not appear to resolve things.
    Suggestions?

    The three accounts you mentioned there are Application Users, not End Users. As such they will not exist in Active Directory. The CCX installation documentation will instruct you to create the AXL account with Super User rights. CCX will then create the second two accounts for you.

  • CTI route point and CTI ports not registering - UCCX 10.5 and CUCM 10.5 - PARTIAL SERVICE

    I'm trying to integrate CUCM 10.5 and UCCX 10.5.
    For some reason CTI route point and CTI ports are not registering on the CUCM and the status of the UCCX is "PARTIAL SERVICE".
    On the UCCX Cisco Unified CCX Engine is in status "PARTIAL SERVICE" and the Unified CM Telephony Subsystem shows status "OUT OF SERVICE".
    I tried with completely new installation of UCCX twice and got the same result twice.
    But when I tried integrating UCCX 10 with the same CUCM 10.5 from above everything works fine and all the ports are registering right away.
    In all the cases I have done the same configuration.
    The versions of CUCM is 10.5.2.10000-5.
    The version of UCCX is 10.5.1.10000-24.
    The version of UCCX 10 with which it works fine is 10.0.1.11001-37.
    Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem?

    No I haven't. Unfortunately I don't have a 32bit Excel at the moment to try.
    Can you please tell me this: I'm installing a new BE6000 system that came with this problematic version of UCCX (10.5.1.10000-24). I have been testing during the weekend with 3 versions of UCCX:
    -10.0.1.11001-37
    -10.6.1.10000-39 and
    -10.5.1.10000-24
    I got the best results with version 10.0.
    Can I install that version (10.0) in BE6000 instead of the one that came preinstalled (10.5.1)?
    This is my first BE6000 installation and I'm not sure if this is OK?
    I installed a newer version of CUCM than the one that came preinstalled because I hit bug CSCup60269 but I'm not sure If I can go to a lower version for CCX.

  • UCCX 7.0.1SR5 to 8.0 upgrade while also adding LDAP integration for CUCM - what happens to agents and Historical Reporting data?

    Current State:
    •    I have a customer running CUCM 6.1 and UCCX 7.01SR5.  Currently their CUCM is *NOT* LDAP integrated and using local accounts only.  UCCX is AXL integrated to CUCM as usual and is pulling users from CUCM and using CUCM for login validation for CAD.
    •    The local user accounts in CUCM currently match the naming format in active directory (John Smith in CUCM is jsmith and John Smith is jsmith in AD)
    Goal:
    •    Upgrade software versions and migrate to new hardware for UCCX
    •    LDAP integrate the CUCM users
    Desired Future State and Proposed Upgrade Method
    Using the UCCX Pre Upgrade Tool (PUT), backup the current UCCX 7.01 server. 
    Then during a weekend maintenance window……
    •    Upgrade the CUCM cluster from 6.1 to 8.0 in 2 step process
    •    Integrate the CUCM cluster to corporate active directory (LDAP) - sync the same users that were present before, associate with physical phones, select the same ACD/UCCX line under the users settings as before
    •    Then build UCCX 8.0 server on new hardware and stop at the initial setup stage
    •    Restore the data from the UCCX PUT tool
    •    Continue setup per documentation
    At this point does UCCX see these agents as the same as they were before?
    Is the historical reporting data the same with regards to agent John Smith (local CUCM user) from last week and agent John Smith (LDAP imported CUCM user) from this week ?
    I have the feeling that UCCX will see the agents as different almost as if there is a unique identifier that's used in addition to the simple user name.
    We can simplify this question along these lines
    Starting at the beginning with CUCM 6.1 (local users) and UCCX 7.01.  Let's say the customer decided to LDAP integrate the CUCM users and not upgrade any software. 
    If I follow the same steps with re-associating the users to devices and selecting the ACD/UCCX extension, what happens? 
    I would guess that UCCX would see all the users it knew about get deleted (making them inactive agents) and the see a whole group of new agents get created.
    What would historical reporting show in this case?  A set of old agents and a set of new agents treated differently?
    Has anyone run into this before?
    Is my goal possible while keeping the agent configuration and HR data as it was before?

    I was doing some more research looking at the DB schema for UCCX 8.
    Looking at the Resource table in UCCX, it looks like there is primary key that represents each user.
    My question, is this key replicated from CUCM or created locally when the user is imported into UCCX?
    How does UCCX determine if user account jsmith in CUCM, when it’s a local account, is different than user account jsmith in CUCM that is LDAP imported?
    Would it be possible (with TAC's help most likely) to edit this field back to the previous values so that AQM and historical reporting would think the user accounts are the same?
    Database table name: Resource
    The Unified CCX system creates a new record in the Resource table when the Unified CCX system retrieves agent information from the Unified CM.
    A Resource record contains information about the resource (agent). One such record exists for each active and inactive resource. When a resource is deleted, the old record is flagged as inactive; when a resource is updated, a new record is created and the old one is flagged as inactive.

    You don't need to pay any money for any major CUCM upgrade as long as you have active UCSS on it.  If as part of the migration to version 8.6 you purchased UCSS you are covered, otherwise you will need to pay for every major upgrade.
    If you did buy UCSS then you can simply request the upgrade vie the PUT upgrade portal.

    Hello,
    1) Yes, please use sip trunk as the interface between cme and cucm.
    2) Please note: officially  cme sip trunk video is only supported for cme1—sip trunk---cme2 type set up, but for  basic call you could try to setup cucm to use early media on the sip  trunk. cme by default would use early media and it should work.

    4) For interfacing CME with CUCM, please remember to configure below command on CME:
           voice service voip
            sip

    I have UCCX 8.51 installed on vmware workstation 7.1, and first try to install demo license and interrupted, and after that never success to logon the GUI, so no chance to install the demo license again. Any clue to solve this issue?

    License will come into picture when you are performing the UCCX initial app admin setup.
    I hope you have installed the UCCX OVA template before installing the UCCX on the supported UCS server. Please cross verify the same from the below link,

    Also check if the ip address of the UCCX is reachable, just to confirm no network issues.

  • CUCM 10 Install Subscriber Error

    I have plan to install  CUCM 10 in 2 sites :
    - sites A : Publiser , Subscriber 1
    - sites B : Subscriber 2 , Subscriber 3
    When I Install in Sites A there is no problem , but when i Install in Sites B for Subscriber 2 and Subscriber 3 there is always this error :
    I had try using ova template from different sites and installer , but no result ,
    any help ?

    did you already upgrade to the fixed version on pub & sub 1 ?
    if you already upgrade from v10.0.1.10000-24 to v10.0.1.11006.1 on publisher & sub1, before you install subs 2 & 3, you must install first cucm v10.0.1.10000-24 and then you choose the patch menu when the starting CUCM installer. and then you put the ISO fixed version v10.0.1.11006.1 into DVD.
    some error interrupt when installing the secondary node on cucm because the primary node having 2 version active & incative CUCM after doing upgraded. you need make it same version on secondary node.

  • Installing SQL5 on UCCX 7.0

    I have a new install of UCCX 7.0 that we're going to make HA in the future.  According to the documentation i should upgrade from MSDE to SQL.  According to the documentation http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf MS SQL 2005 is compatible with this version of UCCX.  We already have a spare license for sql 2005 so installing that makes the most sense.
    The question is, what steps are needed to correctly install SQL so that it replaces MSDE in the manner that UCCX is expecting?

    First, UCCE 7.x configuration and historical database is only certified to SQL 2000. The reference to SQL 2005 in the matrix is for database integration only.  Second, take a look at Chapter 2 in the UCCX 7.0 install guide (uccx70ig). Specifically page 2-4. This will provide specifics on installing SQL 2000. Good luck with your project.

    Did you configure the 'Call Variable Layout' or did you only configure the steps in the script?
    Take a look at the 'Manage Call Variables Layout' section in the CCX Administration guide.
