UCCX 9.0 features

Dears,
I am very new to UCCX, the contact center is running fine but client is asking me such question that i am not able to answer him,
Client has 5 plants for electricity managing a city, so any of the plant goes down the public users when they call to the call center they should get an option such as " to know which plant is down press 8" when the public user press 8 he should come to know that ABC city plant is down and for which reason,  what type of configuration i have to do in the UCC and what type (name) of the application server (database)  i have to setup for the reply on the prompts.
Client is asking me to deploy best features of 9.0  for the agents, But what best features i can show to the client.
Thanks

Hi,
yes, certainly. I assume your customer has a sophisticated system controlling the plants you have talked about. The status of each of these plants is kept up to date in this system.
We want our UCCX to access this information somehow. There are two easy ways:
1. The status of the plants is updated in a database table. UCCX can make a database "dip".
2. The status of the plants is updated in a static or dynamically generated XML file. UCCX can read and parse XML.
It's really up to the person in charge designing the solution whether the XML is static or dynamically generated. I can imagine a script periodically generating and saving an XML file onto a webserver (static file) or a script "triggered" each time the UCCX calls the webserver, creating the XML "on the fly".

  • UCCX + Whisper Tone feature

    Hello All,
We have setup Whisper call feature from the script using Place Call step to make the call to agent for a short description about the call and then it will connect to the customer to the Agent. Now everything works fine, but some time the CAD freezes after the whisper call is played and while the original call connects to the agent.
    1. I have only one CTI port group in my environment and one Media termination dialog group. I have used this CTI port group for "Call control Group ID" field and the default Dialog group for the Dialop group field in the PLace call step.
    2. Agent manually answers the call without auto answer feature.
Now, I am trying to understand little more about the CCG that I am using in this step,
    1. Do we need to have another set 0f group to be used in the Place call step as it is a outbound call to the system and the CCG i have created is for Inbound calls.
    2. Also for the Dialog group, can we use the default group or any special group
Kindly share your thoughts and experiences.....

    Hi Elie
If the agents do not pay attention to the CAD they can use the IP Phone Agent, there is a way to keep the Enterprise Data field in the main screen of the IP Phone Agent service so when they look at the screen they will be able to see the Enterprise Data that says Noah's or Einstein. It would not be necesary to create different CSQs, but as Aaron said before you will need to create two applications, one called Noah and the other called Einstein, both of them can use the same script and send the call to the same CSQ.
So you will transform the 800 Noah to the trigger of the Noah application and the other 800 to the Einstein trigger, after that in the script you can use the Get Call Contact Info where you take the parameter "called number" and store the value in a variable, after that with an "if" statement you can check if the called number of the Get Call Contact Info is equal to the Noah application trigger then you set a variable called "number800" to Noah and if the called number of the Get Call Contact info is equal to the Einstein application trigger the you set the variable "number800" to Einstein, after that you push this variable to the Enterprise Data Field.
For you to show in the main screen the Enterprise Data you need to create an Application User named telecaster an associate the agent's IP phone to it, also this Application User need to be a member of the Standard CTI Enable.

    Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

  • UCCX 8.0 agent desktop unsupported features on agent phone

I have been reading the release notes for UCCX 8.0(2) in preparation for an upgrade from 7.0. I see in the section titled: Unsupported Actions for Unified CCX Agents, that softkey features not supported on the agent phone includes PARK. PARK is used extensively by our agents in version 7.0. Is this something new with version 8.0? I don't understand why this would be now unsupported in a newer release.
    Your replies are appreciated,
    Mark

    Hi Mark
That has been unsupported for as long as I can remember.
Whilst there is a fairly large list of things that aren't supported, exactly why they aren't supported varies a lot... for example, use of Pickup causes all sorts of problems including stuck-in-reserved agents, calls being dropped, spurious not ready states etc.
Join/DirTrFr tend to cause statistical errors (e.g. oldest in queue 1[00:00:00] or similar)
I always recommend to customers that they have a custom softkey set that removes all these, but some think a particular features is so important that they are willing to live with the side effects (which generally means doing out of hours Node Manager restarts to fix up stats and so on).
If you are using Park, and don't have problems... then it's up to you whether you continue to do so. Just be aware that if you get a problem, raise a case and TAC blame it on this, you will kind of be on your own.
As a general rule - anything that might affect the call whilst it's in the control of UCCX (i.e. up to the point that the Agent has answered a presented call) is likely to cause you fairly major issues (i.e. ones that involve calls being lost or agents being put out of work temporarily). Anything after the agent has answered (like Park) is more likely to just screw your real time reports up...
    Hope this helps...
    Aaron

  • UCCX 7.0 license with ICM feature

Does anyone have the UCCX 7.0 license with 7.0 features?
    Thanks in advance

After you purchase the license it will be made available to you. Not before

  • If UCCX first node down, what features are still available?

    Hi all,
I have installed the UCCX 8.5 first node and second node,
and configured to link them up togehter (LAN)
    - Created some application for IVR
    - Created some resource and CSQ
    all working fine
Then... I want to try the HA.
I tried to unplug the first node UCCX ethernet cable (just make it disconnect)
    The IVR is still working,
But ... the Agent and Supervisor seems cannot login to the UCCX via CAD/CSD
Do I miss-configure any setting or is that the only feature after the first node down?
    Thanks
    Sam

You need to re-run the CAD Configuration Tool after completing the HA setup. Also you may need to run the PostInstall.exe tool from the CAD install directory on a PC and manually add the HA node IP address.

  • Blind Conference feature for CAD agents (UCCX)

    Hi,
I am planning to use BLIND CONFERENCE feature in CAD. Basically customer requirement is to play a pre-recorded message to the customer after agent has answered the call. Here is what I am planning to do-
Create an application, script and have recorded prompt there in UCCX (This application has trigger 1111)
Go to CAD administrator, workflow configuration, and assign a TASK 1 button for this agent
Add action to TASK 1, where I select 'Blind Conference' option and add 1111 as a predefined number
    Expected Result-
When agent answeres the call, agents pushes TASK 1 button immediately on his CAD. This action brings 1111 in the conference with agent & customer, where agent & customer both hears the prompt
once prompt is played, 1111 disconnects and agent continues the normal call with the customer
How does this approach sound? Has anyone done like this before?
    Thanks,
    Piyush

Here's how I would solve this:
Create an XML file with the agents that are English-only (or the inverse) and put this in the doc repo.
Change Select Resource to Connect = No; the Connected branch will change to Selected
Use the Get User Info step to figure out which person the User-type veriable is.
Use Get XML Document Data to XPath search the document for a match.
If there is a match, play the prompt advising the contact.
Use a Connect step to get the agent.
    Extra credit:
Use enterprise data to tell CAD that you need a translator
Create a workflow and attach it to the answered event that conferences the translator in
The risk to this approach is that the first agent doesn't actually answer the call (i.e. offer vs. handled). If that happens, there two potential issues that you would need to plan for:
The caller may get told (in German) that the agent they're about to be connected with doesn't speak German and will be adding a translator. The next agent may actually speak German though. There's not a lot you can do about this one.
If you did the extra credit exercise, you would need to be sure that Enterprise Data gets updated to not trigger the workflow action. Obviously, if a German-speaking agent answers the call they don't need to conference a translator in.

  • Uccx feature ?

    Hi,
I have a question regarding uccx feature.
Our customer would like to implement an IVR with the following criteria:
A PSTN phone calls my customer at number 999 which is a CTI_RP for IVR.
The IVR begins and asked the caller to press an "office code" in order to reach an external PSTN phone. So if the caller enters the DTMF "55" for instance, he's redirected to a PSTN number "YYYYYYYY". If he enters the DTMF "44", he's redirected to a PSTN number "XXXXXXXX" and so on and so on...
My question is: Is there a way to set the value "PSTN number" depending of the DTMF entered bay the caller ? For my customer I need 200 different location (external number) ?
Is it possible to have this kind of behaviour ? What's the design ?
    Thank you
    Regards
    Fabian

It's documented, sort of, in the CCX Step Editor Reference. You need to create a valid XML file and then parse it with Xpath.
    Example XML:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
              55
              918005532447
              44
              918004624726
In the script you need to get the document from the repository with a Create XML Document step. Once you've done that, you can then use the Get XML Document Data step with Xpath to pull the variable you want.
To continue the example, the XML Path would be "/office_root/office[code = YOURVARIABLE]/redirect" where YOURVARIABLE is the office code supplied by the caller.
You'll need to do some exception handling if a match is not found.

  • Monitoring and recording feature not working in UCCX

    Hi,
The recording and monitoring option is not working in the new UCCX setup I have installed.I have configured following things for desktop monitoring as per the document
1)Checked that IP Phones are diasy chained and speakers of Supervisor's PC is working,NIC card of agent's and supervisor desktops are compatible
2)In web CDA P phones to be monitored have been configured
3)In CCM configured the phone for "Span to PC port" as enabled also configured "Advertise G.722 codec" as disabled
4)Ran postinstall.exe on agents system and checked if correct NIC adapter is being used for monitoring
5)Checked the NIC binding order in UCCX server and that is correct
I noticed one thing that "services"  in both CAD and CSD are showing as "partial services" and they are monitoring and recording services only.Hence is this problem related to these services? How do i correct the recording and monitoring issue?
    Regards

I would first recycle the VOIP Monitoring Service on both node if this is HA.  This will not affect calls or call processing.
In addition, you stated you ran post install on the clients desktop but have you ran post install on the server itself?
In the desktop Administrator, what server is selected to be the default VOIP Monitor server?

  • What are the major differences between UCCX v7 and v8.0.2

Does anyone know of a matrix or document which shows the major differences between UCCX v7 and v8.0.2?
I have looked high and low, even searched this forum, but have not found anything.
I've even looked at release notes in 8.0.2 but couldn't see anywhere that states the changes.

    Hi,
I have awarded you both with the 'correct answer'.
I went through, painstakingly, the documents I was linked to above and compared.

  • Licensing Issue Quality Management 9.0 with UCCX 8.5

    Hi guys,
The UCCX compatibility matrix, Cisco WFO System config Guide plus QM 9.0 installation guide all state QM9.0 is compatible with UCCX 8.5(SU3).
We have ordered QM9.0 licenses using part number
    L-CCX-90-QM-L-K9=:L-CCX-90-QM-L-K9= : CCX 9.0 Quality Manager Server , 10 Seats LICENSE ONLY
I am unable to add these licenses to our UCCX server as I am getting:
Error: The Cisco Unified CCX Quality Manager Seat feature (2nd line) of xxxxx.lic has unsupported version number (9.0)
Has anyone installed QM9.0 with UCCX 8.5 and if so what licenses did you have to purchase?
    Thanks!

I have not done this yet, I was looking into getting the license to do same you are doing.  Thanks for the heads up. I will wait to see outcome of your attempt.
My main drive to go to 9.x is to get IE9 32 bit support with the latest 9.x SR as I have a handful of supervisors who have Windows 7 and using it to play back recordings, etc and I'm tired of the compatibility issues and time spent on their PCs to keep it running after they do other updates, etc.  Was hoping 9.x with the IE9 and 32 bit support would help with those headaches.

  • Creating new fields for UCCX 9.0 CUIC

I am tryin to create a Contact Service Activity report for a customer and I have 2 problems.
1st I have created a new field which I want to show the number of calls handled outsite of the Service Level.
The formula I have created is SUM(${calls_handled})-SUM(${handle_sl_met}) this works fine for the totals, however I am getting the overall totals on every Service line . Within Edit Properties i have just put in (${calls_handled})-(${handle_sl_met}) thinking that would sort the individual service lines, however it is still showing the overall total number!
The 2nd problem I have is that I want to run the same report so that it show multiple day summaries for each service.
    Date        Serv         Off     Hand    Abnd
    3rd Oct  Cust Serv    25         23       2
    3rd Oct  Acounts      15         12       3
    4th Oct  Cust Serv    32         29       3
    4th Oct  Acounts      27         26       1
When I run the report for start time 3/10/2013 to 4/10/2013  for entire range - grouping by start time - summarising daily.
    it show as follow
    Date        Serv         Off     Hand    Abnd
    3rd Oct  Cust Serv    57         52       5
    3rd Oct  Acounts      42         38       4
Has anyone done this if so can you advise as it is now extremely urgent.
    Thanks Sarah

    Hi,
    from the UCCX 9.0(1) SRND:
Cisco Unified Intelligence Center is the web-based reporting platform that is packaged as part of the Cisco Unified CCX 9.0(1).
Regardless of license level (Premium, Enhanced or Standard), CUIC is there, on the same server.
Not sure if you can install it or move it to a separate server - I guess the answer is no.
About the licenses: you'll have to decide whether you'll be able to use the full feature set (if you need HTTP applications, Databases, custom Java classes, then go Premium), or not (then it's either Enhanced or Standard). Again, CUIC will be there, with unlimited users.
About HA - if you mean High Availability, UCCX supports that, out of the box, it's actually an active-inactive server pair. You'll need a separate license for that, too, as far as I know.
Good alternatives to CUIC: personally, I prefer BIRT. But there's a long list of reporting platforms. Some SQL knowledge is a plus.
Hint: the SRND is a great way to start. The amount of information there might be overwhelming, but all the details are supposed to be there.

    Hi
Are scripts configured to redirect calls outside UCCX ?
Then make sure these are set to consult transfers. Normally if they are not set that way reports show those calls as abandoned.
    Hope This helps

  • CUIC for UCCX 9.0(2)

    Hi,
my customer is interesting to a solution that generates custom graphs,  reports and dashboard about a small contact center (6 agents)
    I read:
"... Unified Intelligence Center is also shipped co-resident with Unified Contact Center Express application. ... "
    I don't understand.
Can I install it on the same server where there is UCCX 9.0.2 or on a different server?
    What licenses do I need?
My customer asks application HA (no vmware)
There are good alternatives to the Cuic ?
    Thanks
    Cristina

    Hi,
    from the UCCX 9.0(1) SRND:

  • UCCX 9.0.2 AXL account continues to fail on setup

I am spinning up a new CUCM 10 and UCCX 9.0.2 lab for our engineering department to begin work on testing features of our product against and during the initial setup I tell the system I am doing a "fresh install", the next step is to insert the service provider information. I put in the IP of my CUCM 10 cluster (on the same network) with the AXL Admin user name and the password. In every instance I get the error "Cisco Unified CM Authentication Failed because of the CCMAXL Exception. Please check the logs for details."
I have enabled all services on this lab box, verified all my AXL usernames/passwords and reset multiple times and yet it still fails on me. I know this is the latest product from Cisco and experience may be light - but do any of you have any suggestions on what I can do to get this going?

    Hi,
I see that you are using 9.0.2, but is it the base version (9.0.2.10000-71) or the SU1 (9.0.2.11001-24)?
9.0.2 base is not compatbile with the CUCM 10 and 9.0.2 SU1 is compatible provided the following:
3.Install ES03 or later version on Unified CCX 902SU1 to work with Unified Communications Manager 10.0(1).
You can check this in the compatibility matrix:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
Also, please note that we have had a lot of issues with 9.0.2 SU1 ES03 and we have deferred customers from using it. The fixes for the problems in ES3 and the fixes for which ES3 was released has been issued in ES4.
So please upgrade to 9.0.2 SU1 ES04 in case you need it to get going with CUCM 10.0
    Hope this helps!
