Universe Designer not pulling Long Text from BEx Query / Info Object

In the BEx query on which my universe is built, all the characteristics display with Long Text. In each of the info objects (RSD1), the long text option is selected in the BEx properties. However, when the Universe builds, it pulls the short text for the names of the classes, dimensions, and details that get created. I don't want to have to manually change every line to the long text, so I would love to hear if there's some setting in the designer that is causing this to happen.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Another interesting data point to add to this:
The long description is transfered for Key Figures, but not for Characteristics.

Crystal Report for Enterprise not displaying Long Text from BEx

I am creating a report using SAP Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.0 (Version 14.0.2) and the source of data is BEx query via OLAP connection created using IDT. I am using SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.0.
The Characteristic (which is hierarchy) in the Rows section of the BEx Query is set to display long text and as such, it displays long text when the query is executed in the BEx Analyzer. However, when it comes to Crystal Report, the short text is displayed in the report. Can I display long text in the Crystal Report? How?

Thanks for your response. Please note, however, the transaction RAD1 does not exist. Let me provide more details about the current settings of the InfoObject.
The Characteristic is 'Item' (0CS_ITEM) and upon going to RSA1 > Modeling > InfoObjects > Item (0CS_ITEM) > Right Click > Display > Business Explorer (tab) > Text Type is set to 'Long Text' and BEx description is set to 'Long description' already.
When I run/execute the query with this Item characteristic, the results in BEx Analyzer is showing appropriate long text, however, Crystal Report for Enterprise shows short text only

Copy long text from PROJ to WBS

When creating a new project (CJ01) I create new WBS and populate its fields from project automatically.
I use enhancement and everything is copying ok except the long text.
I do READ_TEXT and it get long text from project (TEXT_HEADER-TDNAME D99999999)
Then i do SAVE_TEXT and not getting any error (TEXT_HEADER-TDNAME E99999999)
But the long text of WBS is empty.
How should i copy long text right?
I traced program and found out that after my enhancement is passed,
WBS element is not activated and rewrited by initial data from PRPS-POST1
How should i activate wbs then?

Reading Long Text from MM03

I need to read a long text from MM03, view - Sales Text. I cannot use FM READ_TEXT as there is no header data available there.
How do i do it?

Sales Text CANNOT exist without the HEADER DATA.
You have to use READ_TEXT with these paramters.
Text Name       Material Number (NAME)
Language        EN
Text ID         0001 (ID)
Text object     MVKE (OBJECT)

Settings for SAP Portal start page from BEx Query Designer

Hi!
In order to see queries I would like to use SAP Enterprise Portal from BEx Query Designer.
When I push "execute" button within BEx Query Designer a wrong page will be shown in browser.
I changed the settings in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL, but still get the wrong Portal page shown in browser.
Question:
What is the transaction/table/report to customize the portal start page using by BEx Query Designer?

I am about to implement SAP Best Practices scenario "B34: Accounts Receivable Analysis".
Therefore I load the data from SAP ERP IDES system into SAP NetWeaver 2004s system.
My problems are:
when I try to load the transaction data for Infosources 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_AR_6 from SAP ERP system the following happens:
- the status is getting u201Cyellowu201D (194 from 0 records)
- at the next day the status is getting u201Credu201D and I received the following error:
Errors while sending packages from OLTP to BI
Diagnosis
No IDocs could be sent to BI using RFC.
System Response
There are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of BI.
Further analysis:
Check the TRFC log.
You can access this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".
Error handling:
If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is fully connected to BI. In particular, check the authorizations of the background user in the source system.
Comment:
I did not find any entries on "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system"
The Source system connection EC6CLNT100 is OK
Can some one help me to solve this problem?

Printing long text from Routing instead of Production order for an order.

Hi Gurus,
When a production order prints it is printing the long text from the routing master rather than the long text on the actual production order.
This field is used to provide specific instructions in special circumstances in addition to the standard text.
I need system to be changed so that printing takes long text from production order.
Please help me.

In the production order long text, the text we are maintaining is only for information. It can't be able to print. In Production order, copies all the masters and the texts which we are maintaining in the masters only will be able to print. Standard SAP will not print the production order long text.

Unable to run query from BEx query designer

I am connecting remotely to clients environment. I am not able to run query from Bex query designer. System generates IE window with URL

If you are not able to Execute the Query using Query designer, you can also execute the query using RRMX or RSRT transaction for now until the issue with the query designer is solved ..

Hi all im trying to get the External header text entered on the SALES ORDER to print out on the INVOICE and the PACKING LIST
I have started out with using the READ_TEXT FM, but I am not sure how to pull the text from a different document.

If you just installed iCloud does that mean you updated the iOS that's running on your iPad? If so, you'll want to restore all the programs you have from the backup you hopefully made.

Folder mapping with Unix XI box / XI is not pulling the file from folder

We have installed XI on Unix box. We have developed a test scenario using file adapter and tested the mapping program. it's executing successfully. Problem is after completion of configuration XI server is not pulling the file from the assigned folder. I think we need to map that network driver with the XI server. Hope my assumption is correct if not correct me and please help me to resolve the problem.

Report is not pulling the data from multiprovider in BI 7.0

Hi BW gurus,
We have upgraded our BW systems from 3.5 to BI 7.0.
According to our requirement we did some modifications(added some new cubes) to existing multiprovider. All the objects and assignments looks good in the multiprovider.
We are facing a problem while executing the reports, report is not pulling any data from the particular multiprovider but I can see the data from the multiprovider.
For any selection creteria we are getting the msg like "No applicable data found".
Created a sample query with only two chars and two KF's no conditions, no exceptions still the report is not populating any data for any selection creteria.

Reading long text from excel file to an internal table

Can any body tell me how to read long text from excel file to an internal table.
When i am using this FM KCD_EXCEL_OLE_TO_INT_CONVERT then it is reading only 32 characters from each cell.
But in my excel sheet in one of the cell has very long text which i need to upload into a internal table.
may i know which FM or what logic i need to use for this problem.

Here is an example program. It will upload an Excel file with two columns. You could also assign the Excel structure dynamically, but I wanted to keep the example simple. The main point is that the internal table (it_excel in this example) must match the Excel structure that you want to convert.
Remember, this is just an example to help you figure out how to properly use the technique. It will certainly need to be modified to fit your requirements, and as always there may be a better way to get the Excel converted... this is just one possibility that has worked for me in the past.

Like in subject I want to propagate long text from PM order to PM notification and the other way round. If text will be changed in one document it should be changed in second too.
Have you any idea how to do that?

If these are two different fields having different data elements then I dont think its possible until and unless they both have the same data element...
if they have the same data element I think you can keep the long text for the data element and it will reflect both the sides...

I'm using WEE1 output condition to print labels for gr. I'm using the standard object MM07ET and I need to include in the label the long text from material master - table STXL. I know that there is a function READ-TEXT in ABAP for this but I don't have access to abap development. I need to know if it's possible to include a command in the sap scrip to retrive the long text without modifing the program SAPM07DR.

Tried to turn Avast off but the problem still there.
I created a Playlist to my iphone using the musics already on it and the next try i could add new files to this playlist (and to the iphone) but if I try to add it the way I used to do (directly to the iphone) I still get the prohibited symbol.
This is ok, since I can use it the way I want (so far, i didn´t try yet to add other files like PDF or CBR files) and find a way to add the files i want, but I cannot help to think how wierd this is...
I just don´t like the way apple choosed to make possible transfer files to my device. I really like my iphone but my friends with Nokia and Android have an easier life on that matter...
