Unlimited package

After getting another message from BT telling me I am reaching my broadband usage, I thought I'd have a look at upgrading my package. Taking a look at the offers I was pleasantly surprised to find the Unlimited Broadband package for £16 a month - 6 months free, 16 MB download speed £25 Sainsburys gift card and free Home Hub 4. So I signed into my account to take a look, (You probably know what's coming next) to my dismay I find that the offers to existing customers aren't the same. No free 6 months no gift card and most importantly no Free home hub. I suppose BT think once they've got you you're not important anymore.
My contract ends in a couple of months, if I wait for this date can I be considered as a new customer?

You'll only be a new customer if you have the service disconnected, then call up to have it re-connected again.  That's likely to be more trouble than it's worth.
However, there's nothing to stop you phoning Customer Options on 0800 800 030, and telling them that their service is too expensive and you are looking elsewhere.  You may be able to get a good deal from them in return for a new 12 month contract.

  • Do we have to give up our unlimited package to get the iphone 5?

I was going to upgrade to the iphone 5 from iphone 4 UNTIL they told me at the store (not verizon store) that I would lose my unlimited package.  What the heck.....is this true, I didn't do it!

        Hello Cometjohn!
The iPhone 5 is a fantastic phone and I'm sure you will love it.  As mentioned here, you can in fact keep your unlimited data plan if it's important to you.
I would first check your data usage by dialing #DATA and see how much you use. You can also perform and account analysis online at vzw.com.
If you use less than 2 GB a month I would highly recommend getting the cheaper cost of the iPhone 5 and changing your plan.
If you use a lot of data and it's important to keep you can do so by upgrading your phone at full retail cost.  You can also trade in your phone (vzw.com/tradein) to help offset that cost.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to let us know!
    Thanks,

  • DO NOT BELIEVE BT UNLIMITED PACKAGES

BT charge me £26 for unlimited package in regards to their broadband.  They advertise up to 19mb speed but only give me 7mb speed.  I wanted to lower the contract and pay £16 as this is all I receive.  After abuse from a so called member of staff and being told its tough, I have to pay £250 get out contract clause as you cannot guarantee speeds.
WHY do you offer me something, you cannot deliver???

If you think your speed is lower than expected, please post your speed test results with ip profil, hub stats, whether connected wirelessly or by cable, if at master socket or extension etc - and someone will be able to advise if your speed can be increased or if it is correct for your line.
With regards to your final line - no one here is offerring you anything that can or can not be delivered. With the exception of the forum mods we are all customers just like you - but some of us (not necessarily me) have a huge amount of experience of resolving speed related issues with broadband.

  • Do BT Limit Speeds on "Unlimited" Package?

So, long story short, I've had BT internet two weeks now and for about 20% of the time I've had my full 450kb/s download speed. The rest of the time it fluctuates between 300kb/s and as low as 20kb/s. Usually, it's slow during the day and fast late at night.
Do they do any bull**** like limit your speeds at certain times? It's pointless having UNLIMITED internet if half the time it's too slow to even stream Netflix.
My previous provider, ADSL24, gave me full speed 100% of the time.

BT do not speed limit there packages

  • Upgrade to youview unlimited package

Hi there I hope someone can shed some lilighting rust taken up an offer with BT for phone broadband and tv
14 for 12 months then 23 + line rental aftper that, I paid 12 months line rental up front.
now I actually wanted the unlimited youview tv service but it never gave me the option to schmooze this on the online offer, nut an online chat agent told me I could do this by phone tomorrow and it would not effect any deal I had, just an extra £7.50 a month.
Has anyone any experience of this or am I going to hit a brick wall tomorrow?

I think you need a new spellchecker.
BT are generally happy for people to upgrade a service during a contract.  It's downgrading that's difficult.

  • Verizon sales associates and or customer service personnel practice deceitful behavior in order to eliminate unlimited plans in any way they can..

I called up customer service n order to shut off one of my lines as a disciplinary action towards one of my children. I'm sure its a fairly common event. As I was completing this task, the representative advised me that instead of paying the data plan at 30.00 dollars a month, I should shut off the data for the duration of this lines shut down. Well that was very nice indeed! here my company is trying to say me money. after all, I'm not using the line, why should I pay for data that I would not be using.. Okay! That's great!!! Thank you very much. You see, I had told them I was taking it down for 3 or 4 months so my child could raise their grades and prove their ability to graduate high school. At that point I would turn it back on. So great! The line is off and I'm not paying data! Only thing that is affected is the length of the contract. It would be extended the same amount of time as the phone line was of.. This is reasonable.
FAST FORWARD! My daughter graduates with HONORS!!! Yes I'm proud of her. So first things first. She did as she was told. She get her phone back! Now I go and turn on the line and find afterward that my once unlimited plan for that phone will now be charged at 2 gigs per month and Verizon has thrown out my unlimited data package on this phone line! I ask why. They state that since I choose to voluntarily shut off the data package, I forfeited my grandfathered unlimited package on this line. I also was told that since the line was shut off for more than 60 days that they would not restore my plan based on the fact that I voluntarily shut it off and canceled my data package for this line.  Okay! That's great!!! Thank you very much.Sound familiar? The nice representative who was saving me money every month never told me I would loose my unlimited data package if I shut off my data after I suspended my line need less to say, ON THEIR ADVISE!!!  So as far as I'm concerned, the representative was just following the call from above to do what ever they had to in order to get rid of unlimited data lines. After all, Verizon sold millions of data ready phone knowing full well that their infer-structure couldn't handle the mass influx of data being pull in by happy unlimited data customers!! So one on the most powerful communication companies on the planet has turned to lies and deceit and misleading tactics to get back any little bit of operating space in their systems, no matter what it costs their  customers. After all why should Verizon have to pay for upgrades. How will they ever survive!! How you ask?!?!? Why it's simple. Put the cost back on their own customers. After all, If they want good service make them pay for it. If they don't pay enough ( myself 310.00 a month average for 3 lines!) then hell, charge them more!
I was lied to and misled by a Verizon representative. They cancelled my unlimited data package with out explaining that if i did cancel it at that time i would not get it back! this all after I questioned the fact that I was concerned about losing the package. I was assured EVERYTHING WAS OK AND IT WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.
I filed a complaint with customer service on 6/2/12 concerning this matter and was told that it would take up to 14 days for this to be reviewed and at that time I would be contacted by a manager involved it this type of problem. So today 6/12/12 , after waiting 11 days decided to call and see how this process was coming along. Come to find out, my dispute was denied on 6 /5/12 because I voluntarily shut off the data package and the line was off for more that 60 days. these two things were never told to me when I questioned their recommendations to save me money. Also when i filed the complaint on 6/2/12 i ask the rep if she was writing down my side of this story so they would know why i was not happy about all of this.. her answer, NO.What i had to say wasn't relevant to her peaceful afternoon now that i had called up and ruined any chance of a quiet spell I assume.
With all these considerations I formally request that Verizon restore the unlimited package to this line. THAT WOULD ONLY BE A FAIR SOLUTION SINCE I WAS RAILROADED OUT OF IT BY A DECEITFUL EMPLOYEE!
That said, I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and also posting this story wherever relevant around the world wide web.I'm an Honest person but don't cheat me out of what I have. when I'm right I know it. this is not right. please make it right.
I am saving a copy of this letter just in case there is an accident and this post is mistakenly deleted.  That way I can restore it so as to warn other customers  or even better, future customers to be aware that they to  may run into problems with their account if they take the friendly advise  of the representatives they are supposed  trust with their accounts!!

$310 a month for 3 lines? Wow. How the heck?

  • Unlimited data plan gone...please advise!!!

I have been a VZW customer for two years now, and been using smartphones since July 2010. Therefore I have always had an unlimited data package and have thus been grandfathered in now that these new limited packages are available.
Last Saturday, I ordered the Sony Ericsson XPeria Play device from this website. Figured since I qualified for an early upgrade and that it was only $99.99 that I would give it a shot. (Previous device was an HTC Droid Incredible.) Got the Play on Monday and activated it right away. (Keep in mind that both of these devices are, of course, smartphones.) Used it for a couple days but decided I didn't like it and switched back to my Incredible a couple of days later. Two days later, I went back to the Play because a friend expressed interest in purchasing my Incredible, so I figured I could use the Play as my main device until I could take it in to exchange it for something else.
Took the Play in to my local Verizon store today to exchange it for the LG Revolution. (A FAR superior device by the way, for anyone interested.) Got home and logged into My Verizon to check my bill and such, and discovered that my unlimited package had been wiped out and replaced with the 2 GB limited one. Having used quite a bit more than the 2 GB, I was informed that I went over the threshold and would be charged for the overage on my next bill!!! Naturally, this was a big "**bleep**?" for me.
Called up customer care and explained the situation. The rep I spoke to said that she could submit a "discontinued feature change request" (or something to that effect) in an effort to restore my unlimited package, and that she would give me a call back on Monday. When I asked her how this could have happened, she really couldn't give me a straight answer, aside from perhaps the salesperson at the Verizon store making the change without my knowledge. She said that this should not have happened because, again, I was an unlimited customer before the packages were changed and that I had not switched to/from any non-smartphone devices in the past week. With regard to the above stated feature change request, the rep basically said that she couldn't guarantee that it would be restored, for whatever reason.
If you can't tell, I am extremely frustrated by this. I qualify to keep the unlimited data plan that I have always had, and I want it kept on my account. I will not settle for the 2 GB plan and just "monitor my usage." No way. I shouldn't have to deal with a limit because of someone else's mistake. So, yeah...what do you all think are the chances of me getting my unlimited package back? What if for whatever reason I am told that I can't?
(I'm sorry for the angry tone of this post, but I believe it is justified in this particular case.)

It happened to me too on July 20  when I returned a less than a one-month old defective Samsung Charge only to get a "certified like new" one to replace it.  It took a week but I was given the unlimited data back.  I certainly didn't authorize that, as I'm sure you didn't, but there were documents in my account that indicated it had been changed on the date I went back to the store with my defective phone and they ordered me a re-furbished one when the customer service rep promised me a new one.   My opinion--now disgruntled and cynical about Verizon--is that they do that with everyone in the hopes we don't catch it in time and are stuck with it.  You'll get the unlimited data back.  It's just inconvenient, frustrating, and time consuming.

  • BT can't find my broadband package - Help/advice n...

    Hello
So glad I found this forum – I'm in need of some help before I go mad!
I have been a BT internet customer for nearly 10 years.
The trouble started at the end of July when I tried to add BT sport free (I have Sky). I couldn't do it online, so I went on online chat and they said I didn't have a broadband account with them. After an hour of me trying to convince them that I am a customer, they finally said they couldn't help me other than to suggest I talk to sales to add broadband to my account – I already have BT broadband!
I then emailed the residential customer services team via the complaints route to express my dismay at the poor treatment of a long-term loyal customer and to request that they intervene and sort the situation out for me.
They repeated that I only have landline showing with them and asked whether I had another account number. My internet has always been billed separately to my phone account, but looking through all my documents I couldn't see that I'd ever had an account number for my internet service.
I discovered when I looked at my account in BT Yahoo email, that I was still on the BT Yahoo Anytime Plus service, but there was no account number to be seen anywhere. Like many people on this forum I received occasional emails from BT at the end of 2011 saying that I would be transferred to BT Total Broadband Option 1 at some point, but this obviously never happened.
On reading this forum I discovered that there are a number of people like me who have 'unaligned' accounts where they're still on an old service that is billed separately and not linked to their MyBT account. I also read on this forum that someone had managed to find their separate internet account number by checking their bank statement direct debit info. I did this and managed to find an account number (starting GB followed by 8 numbers) but I've tried to use it online myself and it isn't recognised, so I've emailed the residential services team with this number.
They haven't replied to me yet – it's well past the 72 hours they're supposed to reply in – and I've got a strong feeling they're just going to say they can't find the account number on their system. If they reply at all.
Interestingly, I went onto my BT Yahoo email account page today and my internet product had changed from BT Yahoo Anytime Plus to BT Total Broadband Option 1.
Now, I don't know if my message has triggered some action at BT's end, but if it has they haven't told me. My big concern now is that my BT Yahoo Anytime Plus was unlimited with no contract and it now looks like I've been moved to a product with a tiny 10GB limit. I run an online business so I'm rarely offline and I'd exceed my limit within a few days. I'm worried that I'm already exceeding my usage, and if I hadn't looked I wouldn't even know I'd been moved.
All I want is for BT to recognise and merge my accounts, and then I can upgrade to an unlimited package (which will cost less than what I'm paying now anyway). And then I can also add BT Sport, to which I'm entitled and not able to get because BT's systems are rubbish.
I'd thought about simply cancelling my existing direct debit and ordering a new broadband package, but I really need to keep my email address as I've had it for years and I use it for business.
I've seen that there are lovely mods on this forum who can help, so I'm hoping one can come to my rescue before I pull all my hair out – I've got nowhere so far and it's been more than 6 weeks since my intial contact with BT.
Apologies for the length of this message!
    Many Thanks,
    Justine

    Hello again
Can anybody tell me how long it normally takes for the mods to reply to a contact form please?  I submitted an enquiry via RobbieMacs's profile link on 18 September and have not yet received a reply or acknowledgement.  Does it normally take a few days to hear back from them?
My problem has also worsened.  As I mentioned above, someone has been tinkering with my account because last week I was moved without warning from BT Yahoo Anytime plus service to BT Total Broadband Option 1, without being informed.  Then on Friday I received a 'Welcome to BT Broadband' email (I've had BT Broadband for nearly 10 years!), and last night I for the first time ever in nearly 10 years I received a usage warning.
So, not only has my account been moved without telling me, but I've been moved from an unlimited service to a capped service (for the same price) and I'm close to reaching my limiit after a few days usage.
But, despite the behind-the-scenes tinkering, my internet product still hasn't been merged with MyBT account so I cannot access it online to upgrade to an unlimited package, and I cannot call them as they will just tell me they have no record of me having broadband with them (I've been told this too many times over the last few weeks and it drives me crazy everytime - it's as if they think I'm making it up!).
I'm so close to jumping ship to Virgin, and I think if I start incurring extra usage charges because I've been moved on to a product I currently have no control over, it may well be the last straw!
    Thanks,
    Justine

  • Basic broadband package off-peak?

Hello all, a relative of mine has the basic £10/month home broadband package and has asked me if i could find out if this package has an off-peak time that provides unlimited download bandwidth? If so, between which hours provide said off-peak times?
Thank you for your time and patience.

No, the basic package is limited 24/7. If you want unlimited your relative would need to upgrade the broadband to an unlimited package.

  • Add tethering to my Droid will it cancle my unlimited plan?

    hello
I moved to the country and we have no internet, in order to test what mobile data plan i would like to use i would like to tether my phone (driod bionic) and test the Verizon speeds on 3g, and then i will test sprint, and buy the fastest/reliable one.
will adding this plan affect my grand fathered unlimited package? is there a data limit on the tethering? we would like to watch some VOD from directv to test the connections.
also why in the hell does Verizon not offer an unlimited mobile data plan (for usb/pc cards) for people the rural areas? i'm about to drop $120/month for one such plan if spring works at my house. I would use verizon only but your terms of service do not allow it to be the only internet connection even tho it IS the only one in my area

Think you answered your own question there.  They don't intend on it being a replacement for a dedicated internet.  Sprint also has a clause that prohibits such use.  Also make sure that you're not in a sprint roaming area as they're not too fond of that either.
"The primary use of your Device must be for domestic purposes within the Sprint-owned network. Domestic means use in the 50 United States and U.S. Territories (except Guam). Sprint reserves the right, without notice, to deny, terminate, modify, disconnect or suspend service if off-network usage in a month exceeds: (1) voice: 800 min. or a majority of minutes; or (2) data: 300 megabytes or a majority of kilobytes."

  • Bt gaming broadband package

since bt have bought into onlive i was wondering if they have any plans on bringing out a broadband package aimed at onlive users, concerning onlive' alleged 2gb an hour use. Or maybe out of the question bring their unlimited package down in price. I wish to subscribe to onlive but really cant afford the unlimited and bt vision along with calls and line, id be giving bt more than £60 a month!
    any info on any plans?

Option 3 the way to go, Unlimited usage. The other 10gb and 40gb, not nearly enough for onlive! Have haggle with them when the contract is up! Onlive likes to be wired is one very hungry beast for your connection, for my line it swallows up the avaiable 5500kbps, and quality is greatly reduced if anything ele is used at the same time.

  • Problem upgrading Broadband package

I am on Broadband Option 1 (now just called Broadband) with a 10Gb monthly limit.
After incurring several £5 one-off charges for exceeding this over the past year, I've decided to upgrade to the next package which is unlimited (Broadband Unlimited) at £16pm.
On following the upgrade button links, and choosing Broadband Unlimited at £16 pm, and then entering my phone number and account number, I am presented with 2 options - the first my existing 10Gb option, the second Broadband Unlimited extra (unlimited BB + 50Gb cloud) at £21 pm.
Why do I not get offered the Broadband Unlimited package at £16 pm.?

  • Whats the limit to unlimited?

    Hi,
I've just got infinty (option 2) and following reading the fair usage policy, the seems to be no mention of what the "fair usage" is for the unlimited option 2.
Per month I normally use around 100GB however is this too much for an unlimited package?
    Thanks

    Hi.
The FUP threshold is 300GB for BTinfinity option 2 (and BT Broadband option 3). They are both the "unlimted" type packages. The speed will be reduced at peak times for 30 days if this threshold is breached.

  • Ordered a new package without cancelling old one?

Hey, I ordered BT Unlimited package, due here on April 16th.
My current package is way too expensive and charges so much if you go over the usage, but I haven't cancelled it yet and don't know how to. I just made the final payment I ever intend to make with it today, but now that I have a new package coming, I was just wondering if this will confuse BT or cause problems for me as it's been ordered while I currently have a broadband package?
    Please help, thankyou.

try online chat and see if you can sort this out.  obviously you cannot have 2 packages on one phone line.
you should have tried to upgrade your existing package
