  • Firefox won't install bc of "Unsupported Architecture" when I clearly meet the System Requirements?

I installed Firefox 4.0 and upon clicking on the mounted image, I dragged and dropped the program into my applications folder, then because of unsupported architecture the program wouldn't launch. However, I read the system requirements before installation and I meet all of the above. I have a PowerMac w/ a Dual 1.8Ghz PowerPC G5 based processor, 1GB DDR SDRAM, and a 320GB Hard Drive running Mac OSX 10.5.8. After which I had to delete the program and restore firefox 3.6.16 using Time Machine.

    Firefox 4 doesn't run on a PowerPC Mac.<br />
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/
For Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:
    * http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Firefox 3.6.x can be found here:

  • Unsupported architecture for FireFox??? Mac OS10.5.8

I downloaded FireFox 4.0 and then when I went to use it, I got the Message "this is unsupported architecture". Ridiculous! Should I go back to Internet Explorer or use Safari from now on???

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/
    For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

  • Illustrator CS5.5 Not working due to unsupported architecture?

Currently running OS 10.5.8 on an intel based mac- do I need to upgrade to Lion for this to work? Illustrator CS5.1 Trial worked fine.

Did you uninstall your trial properly? If something went wron, run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. Other than that I could only imagine the licensing system messing up and/or one of the installer components like AIR. Anyway, if you still have the trial package, you can always try and install that, then simply hack in the serial number to turn it into a full product.

  • Can't open application...because it's not supported on this architecture

Hello, and I apologize if I'm posting this question in the wrong place...
I had a folder with over 30 gigs of music, videos, pictures, and other miscellaneous files that I wanted to password protect - something simple, when I clicked on the folder, I wanted a little window to pop-up prompting me for a password. I found such a program online, and it worked like a charm (I now can't think of the program's name and I wasn't able to find it again).
I backed up my computer to an external hdd, deleted that folder, but was able to access that folder from the hdd just as I had when it was on my computer (meaning, clicking on the folder, when the hdd was connected to my computer, still prompted me for a password).
I upgraded my hdd's software recently, and I'm now having problems with this folder. The icon no longer looks like a regular blue folder, as the icon now looks like a couple white pieces of paper, behind the Application "A", behind a white circle with a line through it. Clicking on this folder from my external hdd brings up the error message in my subject line. I moved the folder back to my computer's hd (icon remains the same - circle with line, etc.), and the same error message pops up when I try to click on it.
FYI...looking at the folder's info shows that it's still the original size of my files - 30+ gigs. Here's some details on my computer and external hdd:
    Black MacBook 13"
    Leopard version 10.5.8
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
    1 GB 6772 GHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory
Western Digital My Passport Essential (240 GB, if I remember correctly)
    Using WD Smartware version 1.3.2.5
I'm not incredibly computer saavy, so I'm sure I left out some information necessary to troubleshoot this problem. Please let me know what's needed or if anything needs a better explanation, and I'll try my best.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered. I really don't want to lose my 30+ gigs of data!!

    One other thing to try....
On this folder click on it once.
Apple + I to bring up information on the folder.
Scroll down to sharing and permissions.
Set your account to Read & Write.
Then on the little Gear icon at the bottom (to the right of the + - Icons) pull down that menu and Apply to Enclosed Objects.
I have seen several cases where if you don't have Write access to an app (or something within) you get the Unsupported architecture message incorrectly. Changing permissions like this fixes the problem if this is the case.

  • The final end for FileMaker Runtime based Apps ???? "Unsupported Architectu

Finally we made it, packaged our Filemaker 11 Runtime based App, certified it, tested the installer and uploaded it to iTunes Connect successfully.
But now we get "Invalid binary":
Unsupported Architecture - Application executables may support either or both of the Intel architectures:
    • i386 (32-bit)
    • x86_64 (64-bit)
Other architectures may not be included in submitted binaries. Confirm that your Xcode project's build settings include those architectures and no others.#
Since we didn´t program or compile the FileMaker 11 Runtime, we can´t change any project build settings. And now ?
Is this the end for any FileMaker Runtime based Apps ? Is Apple really not supporting Apps built with the database from it wholly owned subsidiary ? Can´t believe it ...

Well, I have to admit, I know nothing about FileMaker.... does this help?
Maybe you need FileMaker Go to do a runtime on iOS now?

if you mac os is not 10.8.5 and you ard using Application Loader 2.9,you should update your system,I know apple doc say:10.7 is ok,but i update my system to 10.8.5 from 10.8.4, every thing is ok, i dont konw the reason, maybe some error exist at application loader,so you can have a try, good luck.

  • Dbxtool seems to force loading of 32-bit dbx in 64-bit environment

I am using the Linux version of dbxtool to debug a 64-bit programme called frankie:
    file ../support/frankie
../support/frankie: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.4, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.4, not strippedWhen I attempt to load the executable within dbxtool, I get an "unsupported architecture" message, which I assume means that the 32-bit version of dbx is loaded:
    (dbx) debug ~/support/frankie
dbx: ~/support/frankie has unsupported architecture or file formatHowever, if I run dbx from the commandline, it is able to load the file, presumably by automatically loading the 64-bit version of the debugger debugger.
    (dbx) debug ../support/frankie
    Reading frankie
    Reading ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
    Reading libm.so.6
    Reading libncurses.so.5
    Reading libc.so.6
Reading libdl.so.2I cannot find any option that would force dbxtool to use the 64-but debugger, in fact the only one I can find is one to force use of the 32-bit debugger in a 64-bit environment!
    any suggestions?

    It is a known problem.
dbxtool: Can't load 64-bit application into default dbx's session
    === Description ============================================================
platform: 64-bit linux (RHEL or SLES)
    Scenario:
    1) Create 64-bit executable file (I created and built Fractal sample in Sun Studio IDE)
    2) Launch Dbxtool
==> Dbxtool is started. Also empty dbx's session is started in 'Dbx console' tab
    3) Press 'Debug Executable' button.
    4) Select your 64-bit executable file and press Debug button
==> 'file has unsupported architecture or file format' warning appears
Workaround: finish default dbx's session and repeat 3) and 4) steps

I think you need to look into how to run wine on 64 bit systems (if you did, your post does not hint at it).
64 bit-related problems go into the 'Other architectures' subforum.

  • What are the rules for AUR packages that rely on Alien bins [solved]

    Hi,
I use ArchLinuxArm and want to create an AUR package that gets binaries from, lets say Fedora ARM, extracts them and modifies the config files in order to make it compatible with the Arch way of Linux. Of course, the PKGBUILD I am going to write will limit installation on the appropriate arcitecture, e.g. armv7h, then.
Is this generally allowed or will my package be deleted after submission to AUR?
    Best,

AUR queries should be posted to the aur-general mailing list.
As indicated in the thread linked by Karol above, it is permitted to append unsupported architectures to the arch array of a PKGBUILD that builds on officially supported architectures. That does not necessarily mean that we will allow packages that only build on unsupported architectures. This should be discussed on the mailing list. I have a vague memory of this coming up before and I think the consensus was that such packages would not be supported, but that consensus may have changed. Personally, I do not see a problem with such packages right now and I expect official supported to be extended in the future,  so I am in favor of allowing them.
Packages that install pre-compiled binaries should be distinguished from normal packages with a "-bin" suffix. Such packages are permitted as long as they do not violate applicable licenses.

Looks like you are specifying Screen resolutions in your WMAppManfiest.xml, this is not supported for Silverlight 8.1 apps, You can find more compatibility changes listed here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/dn642084(v=vs.105).aspx

  • Apps that go free & VPP - what are the rules?

    Hi,
Just wondering what are the rules once an app goes free & volume licencing? If an app goes free for a certain amount of time & you download it & use configurator to distribute to iPads is this ok?
    Thanks

  • Built app with Flash Builder 4.6 and compiled for iOS, now error when loading to appstore

I built a fairly simple app using Flash Builder 4.6 and have successfully deployed it to the Android Market (after testing on my own Android device).  I have also taken that same app and compiled it for iOS and tested it on my own iPad.
I have then done the release build with the "Final Release for App Store Distribution" option in the release build wizard.  I have all the correct provisioning certificates in place and compiled the application to a .ipa file.
At this point, using a MAC, I have run the Application Loader utility to upload my application to the itunesConnect portal to get it in the appstore.  I've already gone through the steps of entering the metadata, price scheme, and screenshots in the itunes connect portal, and just need to upload it for review.
When I upload the .ipa file into the application loader, it gives me the following error:
"iPhone/iPod Touch:  application executable contains unsupported architecture(s): arm"
Anyone have any idea what this means and how I can fix it?  Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

Solved it.  Just added the following in the <InfoAdditions> tag for iPhone in my app descriptor XML file:
      <key>UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities</key>
    <array>
    <string>wifi</string>
    <string>armv6</string>
    <string>armv7</string>
    </array>

  • Can't open APPLICATION_SYSTEM folder in Repository Object Navigator

    Hi,
I am very new to Designer. I am facing a problem, which is stopping me at beginning itself. I did the following steps.
    1. Installed designer 6i on Windows 2000 system.
    2. Installed repository on the Oracle8i database running on a Windows NT 4.0 system
    3. Enabled version support.
    4. I used "View objects" utility, and all objects are valid and enabled.
    5. I opened the "Repository Object Navigator"
    6. Selected Work area called "GLOBAL SHARED WORKAREA". And I can see work area name, APPLICATION_SYSTEM and Wastebasket in navigator window. I can see the property of work area.
Up to here every things are OK. After that, If I click on the + mark of APPLICATION_SYSTEM, the following error massage will be displayed.
