Unwanted repetitive Alert Dialogue pop up failed Network Connection.

I am connected by cable to my modem so my MacBookPro does not need to keep telling me my network connection has failed. Can I all the time(every few minutes! Sheesh!) stop this 'alert' from driving me crazy? Thanks for any help.

This is the popup that keeps appearing. It is in Dutch, but is says somethin like: "A problem occured when connecting to server TC J&J. The server doen't exsist or is not available. Check the servername or IP adress, check the network connection and try again."
The server does not exist indeed. It was a former name of my Time Capsule that I deleted years ago.
Anyone having the same issue or knows a sollution?

  • JMS detection of failed network connection

I have a JMS topic that has a number of consumers, each of which is on a different machine. Messages are being sent on the topic at a low enough rate that the consumers are usually able to handle them immediately. If I look at the monitor screen (on admin console) for JMS, I see that I never have more than one or 2 messages on the server; they are consumed just about immediately, and the high water mark for the topic is 1 or 2.
Part of our system robustness testing is disconnecting the network from one of the machines hosting a consumer. When I do that and monitor the number of JMS messages on the server, I see the number of messages climb. My assumption here is that the server keeps track of its consumers, and it is holding on to messages until it can deliver them to the consumer. At some point, usually, the number of consumers connected to the topic is reduced by 1 and the number of messages on the server is reduced down to a low number. I am assuming that the server has detected that the consumer is unreachable and it no longer holds onto the messages for delivery to that consumer.
    First, are my assumptions accurate?
Second, if so, how can I configure how quickly the server concludes that the client is unreachable and stops holding messages? What I want to do is limit the number of messages in a topic using a quota, and I need to know how to set a reasonable size, given a message production rate. For instance, is there a way to say how long the server should try to deliver messages to a consumer before giving up on it?

    Hi,
I'm assuming the subscribers are non-durable, in which case I think your assumptions are correct - it takes some time to detect a network disconnect.
Its possible to tune how quickly WebLogic tears down stuck network connections, but this is generally not recommended (I think the configurables are on the "Network Channel").
    Some options:
You can programmatically set a message expiration time using the standard JMS API (javax.jms.MessageProducer.setTimeToLive() are as a parameter to publish()), or, more conveniently, you can configure an expiration time override on the WebLogic topic itself.
You can configure a quota on the destination, but this would cause new publish attempts to fail with a resource allocation exception once the quota condition is reached (rather than cause the oldest messages to be dropped). That said, it is recommended best practice to always configure quotas in order to prevent the possibility of out-of-memory errors, and there are some flow-control options to help (see the JMS section of the Performance & Tuning guide in the edocs). You might also wish to tune JMS paging.

  • Failed network connection

As I've reported in other posts (but never recieved any feedback) today I once again experienced the very intermittent (about once in every 30 computer boots) inability of my new MacBook Pro's (retina, 15 inch, purchased in April, 2013) to automatically connect to my home network.
Through trial and error I have found two ways to get it connected when this happens.  One is to simply Turn Wi-Fi OFF and then turn it back ON.  This usually works.  But the seemingly more interesting (as far as perhaps figuring out why this happens in the first place) method is to start the network diagnostic tool.
When I do so, I ALWAYS get the same following behavior.  Three screens come up which already have the proper item checked or listed.  The first is "Select Location".  The correct one (and the only one) is already highlighted so I say Continue.  Then I get "Choose Network Port Configureation".  That is already set to Wi-Fi so I again say Continue.  Then comes screen three that says, 'Select Wi-Fi Network".  My home network is always already selected so again I just click Continue.
And then comes the fix (ALWAYS).  The next screen that opens says "Do you use PPPoE or DHCP?".  The very moment that screen comes up, which by the way is already selected (radio button) to DHCP (the correct answer), a message comes up over the PPPoE/DHCP window that says "Network Change Detected".  That's because it has suddenly, the moment that PPPoE/DHCP screen has come up, connected as it should have without my intervention.
I have saved the System Log many times when this problem as surfaced but there's so much information there that it is hard to know what matters and what doesn't.  I did discover, today, that when it connected finally, I got for the only time in this morning's system log report, the following,
    RSN handshake complete on en0.
And elsewhere I gathered that RSN likely stands for Robust Security Network.
So when it finally connected after I walked to the PPPoE/DHCP screen in the Network Diagnostic utility, I got this RSN handshake complete on en0 for the first time today.
Anyone have any ideas why this 1 in every 30 boot issue might be happening???
And second, I've read other posts with not this exact problem but some similar and advice there has often been to delete the existing connection and start over like you're setting up the computer from scratch again.  And that it involves deleting items in the keychain.
I can likely do that but can anyone give me some help on exactly how to toss my existing connection setup and redo it so I don't mess things up???  Like what should I be sure and save (I know the WPA2 password for sure) before deleting the old connection???
Any help on how to do that procedure of redoing the connection from scratch would be much appreciated...
    thanks... bob...

I did as you said. Most of the automount items are standard apps - browsers, skype etc. There were a few that I didn't understand, eg Transport Monitor, so I deleted those but it didn't help. (I presume if they're utility apps I need, they'll still launch automatically when called upon; it'll just take a bit longer).
Under "Finder/Network", there are three listings, all aliases: "Library"; "(My Name)'s Computer (2)"; and "Servers". "Get info" on "Servers" brings me to my Powerbook's "Macintosh HD" folder. For the other two aliases, the "Original" is shown as "/automount/Library". But Finder can't find such a beast, nor can I.
As I said above, it's not shown under either Login Items or Login Options in my accounts file (am I looking inthe right place?).
(I'm also not allowed to delete that "...my name's computer" alias.)

Help is right here, front and center caibadass. May I ask what's the reason for the mobile number change? Are you logged into My Verizon as the account owner to make such a change? If you can share the details then we can assist. Keep in mind that if the number is changed online then there is not a cost.

  • ITunes loses location of files every time a network connection is interrupted

I keep all my media files on a RAID attached to my router. I have a MacBook, and I don't want to fill up my boot drive with music files, nor do I want all my music on an external hard drive that has to be physically attached to my laptop (lack of portability, inconvenient to eject every time I want to take the laptop somewhere, hard drives fail, etc.).
The problem is that every so often, I'll get the message "network connection interrupted." I'm hardwired to the router at home via Ethernet, but for whatever reason, sometimes it just pops up the network connection interrupted message.
If I'm listening to iTunes when that happens, iTunes will stop playing the song, and an exclamation mark will appear to say "hey, I can't find that file where I thought it would be." What's far worse is that iTunes will then go on to try and play the next song, and the next, and the next, and so on down the line, placing an exclamation mark next to each one as it fails to find the volume where they're stored. In this way, entire albums or even entire artists will get "lost" to iTunes.
The next time I go to listen to a song that has the exclamation mark, if my network connection is established, I can double-click, and it will play just fine as it looks for the volume and finds it. Unfortunately, I have to double-click each and every song individually. I can't just click "play album," or even double-click one song and let it go on to the next. I have to go to every song that's "lost," double-click them one at a time, and then they'll play, and be usable by services that connect to iTunes, such as iMovie, or the Remote app on my iPhone.
Is there any way to prevent this situation from happening? Either by telling iTunes not to declare a song "lost" just because it can't find it one time, or to tell it to look in the last place it saw it, so that when the network connection is active, it will just go ahead and play the song?
As it is, it seems that my only choices are to keep all my music on my boot drive or an external plugged directly into the laptop, or to stop using iTunes for my music. Neither of those solutions would be positive outcomes for me.
My setup is a MacBook running 10.6.8, a 5th generation Airport Extreme running 7.6.1, and a Drobo RAID attached to the network.
    Thanks!

Thre's nothing in iTunes you can configure.  There are scripts that could be used to repair links broken in your scenario, but not ones I would want to have to run regularly.  I see a number of posts here where people have issues with iTunes having problem with NAS.  It seems to work find if you just attach an external drive via USB or Firewire but once you start getting fancy with NAS and RAID, problems arise.  You'll have to see if there's something you can do on the networking side to stop this, or you'll just have to quit iTuneswhen the network drops and restart.

  • ITMS error "network connection was refused"

Whenever I click the search button to the right of certain songs in my itunes library to send me to their page in the music store, I get an error pop up saying "Network Connection was refused". But I can still enter the music store using the main link in itunes. These songs also won't retrieve their Album art (especially the Comic relief tracks) when I select the option in the menu once they are in my library. • ITunes 7.0 can not maintain a network connection, since upgrade

I am stuck in dial up country and recently upgraded to iTunes 7. Until then I was having no problems downloading songs (even though it took a while). Now I am getting an error saying the network connection was reset and to check settings and try again. When this happens I am still online so that is not the problem. I have tried shutting down and restarting, clearing my DNS cache maually, keeping another window open that is connected to internet and closing everthing but iTunes. I also have run the network diagnostics in iTunes and received the following information when the iTunes store connection status failed -Network Connection Information

Secure connection attempt to iTunes Store was unsuccessful.

I have purchased a season pass to a tv show and a entire album and neither will download. Please help me!! Thanks!

Ive downloaded the Quicktime installation and so far got quite excited in the hope that this would at least help recover the new iTunes. But alas, iTunes now fails to install at all and an error message reads:
"Quicktime was not installed properly, please re-install Quicktime and try again"
I therefore re-installed the Quicktime application repeatedly with limited success with the same error messaging reappearing on each ocassion. It's starting to verge on the point of frustration now as every attempt I make at installing iTunes ends in failure.
I don't want to give up as I have new tracks that I'm desperate to upload to my iPod which I've not been able to.

  • 1 of 4 computers on my home network connects to hu...

I have recently installed the BT home hub 2.0. I have 4 computers on my network. 3 of these run on windows XP, and 1 on windows Vista. The 3 XP computers all connect perfectly to the home hub, and can all access the internet. The Vista computer connects to the hub, and sees the other computers on the network. The other computers also see the viista computer, so I'm sure that the connection to the hub is OK, and file sharing and printer sharing works fine. The problem is that the Vista computer cannot get a connection to the internet.
When I run the network diagnose and repair function on te Vista computer, it tells me that the computer is connected to the internet, and there is no problem with the connection.
When I look in the home hub manager, it shows that the broadband connection from the router is fine. It also shows that the vista computer is connected.
However, whatever brouser I try to use I keep getting the message that it cannot display the web page. And when I do the diagnosis, it says there is no internet connection. I have also tried running updates on anti-virus software, and I get a message saying no update possible because there is no internet connection.
Has anybody experienced the same problem? I don't know whether it's a problem with Vista or with the BT hub, or some sort of compatibility problem between the 2. I have checked all the settings I can think of, and have run out of ideas.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sometimes Vista/Windows 7 can have problems with IPv6 connectivity
In Vista go to Control Panel->Network and Sharing and Click on Wireless networks....
A dialogue box called wireless network connection" will appear like this:-
AS you can see from mine, I have no internet acces on Ipv6....
If you are on Ipv6 instead of Ipv4 click "wireless prperties" and in the next dialogue box, uncheck the Ipv6 box but leave Ipv4 checked...I can't remember but you may have to restart the Vista machine..

  • Jabber for Windows 9.1(3) - All network connections fail at least once a day

    Hi,
We have Jabber for Windows 9.1(3) running, with the MSI 3.2 installed as well.
At least once a day my computer stops making network connections (Outlook gets disconnected, Internet Explorer cannot connect to Google, Chrome also fails). When I shut down and restart Jabber all network IO resumes.
    Has anyone seen this behavior?
I've made two problem reports for this. Is anyone interested?
    Regards,
    Erik Tamminga
PS. Server side we're running all 9.1 versions.

We had the same issue and logged a TAC case, and the final result was to uninstall media services as mentioned above. Obviously now you no longer have desk phone video.
The new 9.2 beta has a new media service version, and the rollout of the new 9.2 client is mid march I believe, so hopefully this rectifies the problems, because if it doesn't I think this would not be a good thing for Jabber as a product unfortunately.
    Cheers

  • '"Connection Failed" : The server "rrnas01" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again' message

'"Connection Failed" : The server "rrnas01" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again' message keeps displaying whenever I try to open any Adobe CS5 applications (except for Adobe Acrobat Pro). It displays until I click "OK" about 15-20 times or so and then will finally let my program open.
I have tried deleting files within my Library/Preferences folder and turning off/deleting login items within my system preferences as other forums suggested but nothing happened. Spending 3.5 hours on the phone with Adobe and completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the entire CS5 Master Collection didn't work either.
Also, it may be helpful to know that my programs worked fine for about three weeks then when we got internet and changed the password (the join, not the adminstrative password) with the wireless network "ScubaSteve" (which I've used with no problems at my old apartment) it started acting up. I have never seen "rrnas01" before so I don't know at all where it came from. I also installed the free 30 day trial of Suitcase Fusion 3 recently, but thinking that could also be the cause I have uninstalled it, and still no help.
Please help me! And please keep in mind I don't know all the computer lingo that a lot of the people in these forums seem to know. Thanks in advance for ny help you can give me.

It may not be possible .. there is a major bug between Mountain Lion and the TC where the TC disk goes off the radar of the computer.
Lion is also affected but not as badly.
7.6.4 seems worse than earlier firmware.. so back to 7.6.1 or 7.5.2 if that is possible.
Obviously that is not a solution for a later Gen5 TC.
Reset to factory after the firmware downgrade. .use all network names that are short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
If the TC is the main router set the dhcp to a very short lease time.. eg 30min.. and see how it goes, or try a longer lease like 99days.
I prefer the very short lease but response has been mixed.
Use ethernet not wireless.. ethernet is always more reliable and stable than wireless.
And last .. a nightly electric timer that powers off every night at midnight for 1min.. would not be the first device we have suggested a fix that amounts to beat the unit to the punch by forcing it to reboot since it is unstable.
