Update Content and Photo Gallery

Forgive me for cross posting but I was not aware of this
group when I originally posted. Here is my orginial post. Maybe
someone can help me or point me in the right direction.
I am using Spry updateContent to load in html fragments
(div). What I'm trying to do now is load in the Spry Photo Gallery
demo. I have used this tutorial to build the Photo Gallery:

I've tried loading the entire photo gallery html page but
this does not work. I then tried loading in a fragment with just
the div's with and without the scripts. I then tried moving the
scripts to the main document. Nothing seems to work. Any
suggestions?

Hi Charlie,
Sounds like you are trying to run Spry twice. Once when you
loadContent and then again to run the gallery after updateContent
runs.
Is that correct? If so, it won't work as you noticed, since
Spry has already processed the page by the time the DIV is loaded.
What's the goal of your page? Is there a specific reason you
are using updateContent? You can use the gallery as it was
designed, or for updateContent, make sure the DIV you are loading
already has the needed HTML markup.
Let me know if I missed something.

Links and photo gallery not working!

Hi,
I've just created a website by iWeb. After publishing the site in the local folder I've uploaded the entire contents to the server by FTP. From local folder it works fine but while trying to view online, the links between the pages not working (even not visible) at the same time my photo gallery is also not working (not visible). I was using Safari in mac.The same problem occurs while I am trying to browse the site from in my pc (copied the file in a local folder) and using Google Chrome and Internet Explorer
If anyone can tell me what is the possible error?

From viewing your site it's apparent that not all of the files are being uploaded to the server. Particularly those in the Scripts folder.
Have you opened your locally published site with your browser and checked it out? I think you'll find that the navbar will display correctly on both pages and the rest of the site will properly.
What ftp client are you using to upload the files? If you haven't tried the free Cyberduck client give it a try. Many users have found it to be successful where other clients were having problems.

Updating a web photo gallery

Hi,
I have created a website using Dreamweaver CS6. On one of my pages I have a web photo gallery which I created in Adobe Bridge and then embedded onto the web page by using iframe in Dreamweaver. If I wanted to add or delete photos in this web gallery, how do I do this?

Thanks, I managed to work it out. I already have the web gallery incorporated into my website via bridge into dreamweaver cs6 using iframe (http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/gallery/embed1.php) no problem but was wondering how you update this gallery if you wanted to remove or add new photos to this gallery,
This is what you do for anyone out there who may want to do the same and their site is not yet live on the www.
1) Go back to the folder that contains all the photos for your photo gallery on the hard drive in windows explorer. Remove or add photos there in Windows Explorer.
2) Then open Bridge and select that folder. In the panel on the right should contain all the properties for your photo gallery.
3) Check in the main screen that the new photos have been added or the old ones have been deleted.
4)Click save in the right panel. Bridge will then update the Adobe Web Gallery Folder. Then go into that folder and check name of html file. Rename it if you like (make sure it doesnt have the same name as any other html files that's in your website root folder).
5) Then select your new html file and the resources folder in your Adobe Web Gallery folder and right click and copy.
6) Paste both files into your website root folder. You dont need to do anything to your html code in dreamweaver at all as you have somehow already created a link in there when you embedded your gallery originally!!!
7) Then check the page on internet explorer in dreamweaver to test it and bingo it should work!! It worked for me :-)

Local video streaming and photo gallery displaying

Hi, there. I have a macbook pro, an iPhone4, a video beamer and a wi-fi connection. I would like to know how I can, localy, stream a live video I'm shooting with my iPhone4 in order to see it in real time on the beamer (connected to the Macbook).
I would also like to know how I can, with the same setup, shoot photos with my iPhone4 and update in real time a photo gallery I'm displaying with the beamer.
The only constraint is that I can't use any cable wired on the iPhone (it's for a party actually).

IWeb Google Maps and Photo Gallery Question

I have a Website I started to create a while back. Is there a way to insert a google map and some type of photo gallery
into my site, now that MobileMe is gone??? I really liked the simplicity of iWeb. Is there anything else out there?

You can still insert Google maps into your site - you just need to do it as you did before the Google maps widget arrived.
Go to Google maps and create the map you want and then copy and paste the code and place it in an ordinary html snippet and then click on Apply and the map will appear.
Also, another tip - you could have found all the answers that you were looking for before even posting your question by searching this forum and there have been literally hundreds of posts on the same topics of Google maps and slide shows.
Suggest you search the forum and look for posts by Old Toad and Roddy, who have found alternatives.
You don't need to stop using iWeb - if you have it use it, but just upload to another host/server.
There are plenty of alternative out there - again a forum search would have given you answers.
Take a look at RapidWeaver, Sandvox, Freeway Pro/Express and Flux 4. You can download free trials of all of these and most are available for purcahse from the Mac App Store.

Document titles and photo gallery

I would really appreciate help with two problems...
1. I have changed the title on all my pages yet the title bar
in the browser still shows untitled document!
2. I have downloaded a photo gallery from the internet and
exchanged the images for my own, works perfectly off my own
computer but as soon as I put it in as a flash file in my page and
publish, none of the images are there and it has 'undefined' on the
bottom of the gallery

Show us a URL.
If you are using frames, it is the title of the master
frameset that will
show at the top of the screen.

IPod Touch and Photo Gallery

I just got my first Touch, and all seems to be working well with one exception. The Touch will take me via my Safari bookmarks to my iWeb page, and from there to all parts of my iWeb postings with ONE exception - my photo gallery. This link works fine with Safari on my computer, but returns an error message when I try to access the gallery page with the Touch. Any ideas? Thanks!

Good question. In my situation they start out on my Mac in iPhoto as Nikon RAW files. Then I upload to a mobileme gallery via the iPhoto mobilme button, and choose the optimize for download option. From what I understand iPhoto then magically converts the files to be uploaded to jpeg and a small enough size to permit a reasonable download speed. Once published they are just a normal web page in the mobileme "cloud".

Safari and Photo Gallery

When browsing with Safari, clicking on a picture (for example; in AOL News) sends you to "Photo Gallery" for more pictures. The "Photo Gallery" is blank where pictures would normally show. All other pictures, u-tube videos, etc. in Safari work fine -- just "Photo Gallery" does not display images. Pop-up windows are not blocked; display images in Appearance preferences is checked. Photo gallery working fine when using fire fox But not when using Safari. This all started when Safari came out with 5.0. I have apple care & have called support over 20 times on this issue. Even had them go to Aol & go to one of the photo galleries & low & behold they had the same exact problem but it still is not fixed. I would think but am not sure that maybe apple has to contact Aol for file updates, This has been going on for 6 months now & really don't see it being fixed anytime soon.

Does ATV sync updated music and photos like an iPod?

I just successfully synced my new ATV with my entire iTunes and iPhoto events libraries. It took an entire day to sync it through wireless (couldn't find my ethernet cables). Since this initial sync I have taken more pictures and wanted to sync them over to the ATV. Made the mistake of going to the photo tab and checking the sync last import box. I was worried that if I tried to sync all events again that it would take all day. So of course it erased all my other photos and now I have my lone most recent event on the ATV.
My question is--does the ATV sync updates the same way an iPod or iPhone syncs--in other words will it recognize what is already there and just sync new songs or photos? It doesn't seem as seamless as the other devices since it took several trials and failures to get all the tunes and pics to the ATV first time around. Do I just continue to have it sync all events when I want to update new songs and photos. Thanks for any info...

As long as you are putting the new photos in the same folder (or a sub-folder in that folder) that you have already synced, it will only add the new photos on the next sync. If you change the folder in the "Sync photos from" box, it will erase those synced from the previous folder. This is the same as with an iPod.

Update Content and Task Sequence Changes are Slow

When choosing "Update Content" from the deployment under the Deployment Types tab, the revision number changes but the update takes about 30 minutes to complete. When app testing this is becoming increasingly frustrating. A change made
and then having to wait ~30 minutes is wasting too much time. This delay doesn't always occur. When its working quickly, the pie chart would immediately turn yellow and a few minutes later files would be updated and the Last Update: under the pie
chart would show the current time/date. The packages being tested are all small and being distributed to a couple local DPs over 1GB connections. When triggering "Update Content", the distmgr.log does not display any information about
the distribution of the files until it actually does start which as mentioned earlier starts roughly 30 minutes after triggering "Update Content". Keep in mind it's not exactly 30 minutes. This timeframe is variable.
Also noticed that when an app install was set to disabled in a Task Sequence, when PXE booting, the app was still trying to run. Sometimes an app can be changed to disabled and an immediate PXE boot will not attempt to install the app. This also
applies to enabling a disabled app.
The update content issue would appear to be some type of backlog issue but disabling an app in a Task Sequence seems like it would be more like a DB transaction. Although it seems like two issues, both issues rear their ugly head at the same
time.

Thanks for the info. When you create a package, the files are copied from the source path to the content library on the site server. Then, the content is copied from the content library on the site server to the content library on the distribution points.
Please also check if "Allow clients to connect anonymously" is enabled on the DP Properties. See this link:

Anything you publish on the web can be downloaded and saved. If you have fears about copyright infringement...
OPTIONS:
1) If you don't have rights, don't publish it.
2) If you own it, Watermark it with your URL or Logo.
3) Digitally register content.
4) Post disclaimers.
5) Cross fingers & hope for the best.

Update Content and Creation of New Packages Fails, Errors in PKGXFERMGR.log

I am having a problem distributing packages to Distribution Points. This has worked for over a year previously. I believe there may be a problem with IIS configuration somewhere but I cannot find what the delta may be.
When I look at the pkgxfermgr.log I see several things.
First, I see the jobs that I have started are stuck in a pending state. Example below:

IPhoto is not update events and photos ( make key photo)

hi
i erase all my computer data, and make a backup with time machine.
and i restore all data again ..
all works perfect and great.
but iPhoto is not working good.
here is a picture of my iphoto how looks like ...
iPhoto is not updating all my events and pictures...
it show the same picture .... and
if i make a picture key frame to show on events ... is not working again ...
please help ... what can I do. ?

and some events not...
and inside on an event .... the same problem
some pictures working and some pitures not.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

DataGrid - update contents and maintain sort selection

I have a DataGrid whose 'dataProvider' is bound to an
ArrayCollection. At some points in time the ArrayCollection is
replaced with a new set of data provided to the application. This
causes the DataGrid to be reloaded essentially, which also causes
the users sort selection to be reset. How can I keep the sort
selection when replacing the data?

There may be an easier way to do this, but I set a
headerRelease handler on the dataGrid and keep track of which
column is being sorted. When it is time to replace the
dataProvider, it is possible to sort my dataProvider based on the
last user click of the header.
It's not elegant, but it works. With this method I'm able to
store the user's preferred sort between executions. (that would be
application executions. Not the user)

Need to incorporate a PHP Photo Gallery into site

Hi,
I do not have a lot of experience with PHP, but I purchased a
simple PHP Photo gallery and had it installed on my website. Now I
want to have that gallery appear in within a photo page (html) on
my website. I have banner ads on the right and left sides of the
page and place content in the center. I was hoping that I could
insert an iFrame into that center area and link to the index.php
file in my photo gallery folder to incorporate it within that area.
But I can't get that to work (I insert an IFrame and link to the
index.php file). So am I doing something wrong, or is there a
better approach to make this happen?
