Update to iTunes 7.7 Release - Now I have a problem.
I am curious if anyone is having this problem.
I updated to iTunes 7.7 release today on my development system (a mistake as I have been chasing this now all evening). The problem I am having is that when I build my app for the device the app installs on the iphone.. but now it takes nearly 3 minutes to do it compared to the 30-45 seconds before.
I have rebooted my Mac Pro and restarted the iphone. I can conly conclude that either it is iTunes or perhaps something that was caused by the installation of AIM or something like that on the phone (seems unlikely).
I just don't know what to do to fix it. I am not excited about resetting the phone and going through the **** it was to get provisioning to work again.
I'd appreciated any thoughts or like experiences.
I was trying to figure this out today. I just installed the final 2.0 software and wiped out all the applications I have previously installed.
Now installations of my apps were the usual speed. I then installed the Facebook and light applications and everything was still fine. Then I installed Super Monkey Ball.... BOOM!! The installation speed dropped to a few minutes. I then removed it and the speed went back up.
At this point I don't know if there is something wrong with SMB or if it's just faster when you have hardly any content installed.
Give it a try and post your findings.

Additionally, I can see the phone just fine on an XP machine that does not have iTunes.
Nevermind...I'm an idiot. If there are no photos in the Camera Roll, my iPhone 4s does not appear in Windows 7 as a camera, which makes sense. I did have photos in Photo Stream and a separate album, so I was some what thrown for a loop.

Just did the iTunes update that iTunes said was available, now iTunes won't open. I just keep getting a Runtime Error message.

Is anyone else having this problem?
I tried to re-install and got the following message: iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114)
Does this mean I have now lost everything?I just had the same error:

I went to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and did a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes. You MUST follow the directions here exactly...it's more than just iTunes that must be removed, and it MUST be done in the order in which the support article says. I followed the exact instructions, and iTunes is back on my machine (no more C runtime error) and you do NOT lose your music...it's all in my library, as it was before.
Good luck! -
I updated to iTunes 10.7 and now iTunes does not see my iPod touch. After the update I got a message that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver could not be installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 3 times, but still cannot fix the problem. I have followed the suggested fixes in Apple Support. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Try the actions here for that driver.

I updated my itunes this morning, and now I keep getting an error message when trying to burn a disc. Any ideas how to resolve this?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.

Error trying to update to itunes 10.6.3 & now 10.7 (e drive?)
Error trying to update to itunes 10.6.3 & now 10.7 (e drive?)
I've been having this problem for a while (maybe a couple of months) and avoided it until I updated my iPad and iPhone to iOS 6. Now they won't sync! :|
At first it was simply collapsing after the install process. I've tried again tonight and it is saying that it has an E drive error. I've tried to use the instructions on other discussions (using Run, CMD, and mapping the E drive to C) - but, I don't actually have an E drive. My c used to be split into two, including an E drive, but it has since been returned to one single drive. (I'm a teacher, the IT manager at school sorted this - managing one drive is easier for me to keep it working well - until now).
Itunes was reinstalled and set up simply in the C drive, but could there be something remaining from it's previous install? Help?!?
Thanks,
Lukemany thanks.
There's a few suggestion other than using SUBST at the command prompt given in the following user tip:
"Invalid drive X:\" install errors

I updated to iTunes 10.5 and now I can't connect to iTunes store
I updated to iTunes 10.5 and now I can't connect to the iTunes store. Anybody else having this problem?
I made some progress. The problem is thatiTunes is looking for a certain LSP (Layered Serviice Provider). Some antivirus software (PCTools in my case, wants another one.
1) Disable andy spyware
2) run command "netsh winsock reset" and reboot.
3) Voila it works.
I don't know all the consequences of this change but somebody is going to need their products' code.
Be careful, I know this works for me, but your mileage may vary. -
I recently did an update to my iphone 4s and now I have lost all my custom ringtones as well as some music I had loaded. I did a restore and backup but nothing changes. What have I done wrong?
Hello Chance1985,
Sorry for your wait. Okay so let's try re-connecting with iTunes on your computer and syncing your device. This may give you all your stuff back. Sync in Music tab.

My iphone 4 updated to ios6.0.1 and now i have no sound in any of my apps? how do i fix this?
Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let the iPhone restart itself. See if better. If still problem, Restore iPhone with iTunes 10.7 or 11 on computer. See if better, if not and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, clean iPhone Charging Port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better, if not, clean again with small amount of Isopropyll Alcohol.

Support problem. The adviser tried to diagnose the failure of an application called JOTNOT PRO to update. He said he'd phone back at 8pm. I pick up his call at 8pm. Electronic voice: thank you for calling apple. We are now closed" So now I have 2 problems: the adviser had got me to reset so bye bye wifi passwords and settings. And then when he phones back as we agreed he's not actually on the phone, it's just a voice saying Apple Support is now closed! What on earth is going on at apple support I wonder.
Anyway, the original problem: an application called JotNot Pro fails to update. The error message says something like "you cannot update this cos either you bought it with a different Apple ID or somebody else bought it."
Neither applies. Can anybody help?
PS. This is my first approach to the support community so please bear with me!
WilliamYou might have better luck contacting the app's support or developers.

i have a laptop mac 3 years old i did not pay the extend warranty plan, so know i can't update the iPhone 5 because thai do not accepted a update for iTunes the new version what i have to do call to apple or make repair
You need to be running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer to sync the iPhone 5; this may require buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store. OS upgrades aren't covered by the warranty.

I'm trying to update my iPhone 5 to IOS 7 through iTunes. I get a pop up saying I need to update my iTunes to 11.0.5 before I can update my iPhone. The problem is my iTunes is current, and no update for iTunes is found. Any one have any suggestions?
I had the same problem. My phone wasn't finding it so I tried plugging it into my laptop and it said I needed the latest iTunes which I already had.... I unplugged my phone from my laptop and did a soft reset to my phone (hold down the lock button and home button at the same time until your phone turns off) once it turns back on you should find the update... Click general... Software update. Worked for me!
