Upgraded a usage plan online and charged $$

I upgraded my usage plan online from 450 to 900 minutes and clicked the button to do it now.  The bill was just sent and I was charged  for all the minutes used in my 450 plan as regular minutes!!!  The total minutes for the month are under 900 minutes so I am not over the plan I upgraded to. I am waiting the 24-48 hours for a customer service supervisor's supervisor to call me back, as the supervisor could not tell me what I was to have CLEARLY read online as I was making the change to know exactly what I was going to be charged!  I just went back tonight to see again what I could have missed and I don't get it!  If I would have called on the phone, there is never a problem.  Every time you wait on hold, they tell you to go to verizonwireless.com, so you do and this is what they do to you!
Here is what the supervisor kept saying:  I cannot give you the information on the disclosure...but the information is there of what will be on the next bill.  So they showed me the actual bill - No.  What did they show me?  What did the disclosure say?  I cannot give you the information on the disclosure.... but the information... now you know why I asked for the supervisor's supervisor!
I just want the upgrade to 900 minutes and not to be charged a different rate for the minutes in the 450 plan.  It is more money to Verizon.  Why push customers to the online site, charge them outrageous amounts and then cause these problems? I have owned a cell phone since 1983 when they were bricks with a cord and cost $3000!  I think I know how to read conditions, but according to customer service....NOT!

I will try to explain it.
Your 3 options are to:
1) backdate it which means the plan change will start at the beginning of your CURRENT billing cycle. This means that ALL usage within this billing cycle will fall under the 900 minute plan.
2) current date which means that all of the usage within this billing cycle but before this date will fall under the 450(pro-rated) minute plan and all usage within this billing cycle from this point on will fall under the 900(pro-rated) minute plan. For example, lets say that you make the change at the half-way point of your billing cycle and select current date for the plan change to take effect. For the 1st half of your current billing cycle, you will have a minute allowance of 225 minutes (450 * 1/2) and for the 2nd half of your billing cycle, you will have a minute allowance of 450 minutes (900 * 1/2). Anything over these amounts during EITHER half of the month will result in an overage charge.
3) next billing cycle, which means the plan change will take effect at the beginning of your next billing cycle and be in effect for the entire month. Your current billing cycle will be entirely under the old plan allowance.
Once the bill is generated with the change, it is doubtful that Verizon will make any changes to what you have already been billed. If you are still within the same billing cycle in which you made the change, though, Verizon should still be able to backdate the change to the beginning of your current billing cycle. If you do not think you will go over the pro-rated allowances for the different parts of your billing cycle, it shouldn't matter, and you can leave things as they are.

    Does the restore appear to complete successfully?
    Did you run into any issues while following the suggestions in the article that I linked earlier?
    If you haven't already, try restoring the iPhone from another computer.
    Also, you can make a reservation with a Genius at a local Apple retail store here: http://www.apple.com/ca/retail/geniusbar/. The Genius can generally replace the iPhone on the spot, if there is a hardware issue.

  • I was penalized with overage charge for upgrading my plan online

    I just switched from AT&T in Oct and signed up with the 700 min Family plan. In Nov, I realized I was going to go over the limit if I don't upgrade my plan. So I went online and upgraded my plan to 1400 min Family plan. When I looked at my current bill yesterday, I was surprised to see there was a $102 overage charge on my bill. I talked to a representative yesterday and asked her to explain about the overage charge. She said because I upgraded the plan online (on demand), my 498 used min were prorated which resulted in 227 min overage.
    I said the reason for my upgrading the plan was to avoid overage. I did not exceed the 700 min in my old plan and I was not aware I am only allowed 25 min a day if I change my plan in the middle of the billing cycle. I can understand the proration of my monthly access charge (from $70 to $90 per month) but I don't understand the proration of used min. I pay for 700 min per month not 25 min a day. She offered me a 25% discount of the overage charge which I did not accept. 
    I called VZW this morning and talked to a different representative. I asked her if I would have upgraded my plan by talking to a representative instead of doing it myself online, will I incur the overage charge. She said the representative would have backdated the change which would avoid the overage charge. I asked her was it fair that because I tried to save VZW resources of not utilizing the time of a customer representative and going online to upgrade the plan myself, I incurred a penalty in the form of overage charge. She couldn't answer my question.
    I asked her if she could remove the $102 overage charge. She said she couldn't but offered to make another adjustment which still resulted in $47.50 overage charge. I thanked her for doing more than the CS the day before and unwillingly accept the adjustment. I told her I am still not satisfied with the settlement and how VZW penalizes customers for trying to make it easy for them by upgrading online directly.
    Lesson learned: Don't upgrade or change anything online without talking to a customer representative. I am looking for a new wireless carrier as soon as I can.

You want the amount you are charged to be pro-rated, but not the amount of minutes you are able to use? Say you start the month with the 700 minute plan and change half way thru to the 1400 minute plan. You want to only pay half of the cost of the 700 minute plan for the 1st half of the month and still use ALL of the minutes? You then want to pay half of the cost of the 1400 minute plan for the  2nd half of the month? After all, you are only on the 1400 minute plan for half of the month. I suppose you should also receive all of the 1400 minutes for the 2nd half of the month? That comes out to 2100 minutes for the price of half of the 700 minute plan + half of the price of the 1400 minute plan. Quite a deal you want there!

They don't penalize you for doing this online, as I have pointed out that you have the same choices whether it is online or via a CS rep. They will penalize you, though, if you make a choice which will result in overages.

    Next time, if you are increasing your minute plan, just make sure that you have it backdated to avoid any overages. You can still do it online, though.

    Forgive me if this question has already been asked:
    I'm looking to upgrade to 5s (from Droid incredible).  I have unlimited data plan. My wife has a flip phone and will stay with dumb phone.  We are both eligible for an upgrade, and are planning to do the swap described elsewhere where she gets the smart phone and a data plan with her upgrade, I get the dumb phone with my upgrade, and then we trade phones and she cancels the data plan.
    Question is: can this be accomplished (or more likely started) by reserving the iphone 5s online instead of going to a store?  Is it as simple as ordering the phone for her number through the Verizon website (or Apple's?), and then once it arrives, heading to the Verizon store for all the swapping and purchase of new flip phone?
    Thanks to anyone who an help!  In the end, I don't need the iphone immediately.  But would hate to haves to wait too long, and concerned about stock levels and driving all over town chasing phones.

    Ann154 is correct. That will not work.
    This is what I would do: Upgrade to the iPhone on your wife's line. You can order it online and activate it right through My Verizon online when it comes to your house. You must activate it on her line first to accept the contract terms and conditions.
    Do NOT use your line to upgrade to a basic phone; buy your wife a basic phone off contract. You can find them reasonably priced on many retail and auction sites.
    Move the iPhone to your line, which keeps its unlimited data, and activate the off-contract basic phone on your wife's line.

    We have installed Hyperion Planning, Workspace and Financial Reporting in one single server and we would like to know is there any cache memory setting can be fine tuned to improved the overall online performance of the system.
    How can we control the memory usage of individual user logged into Workspace and Hyperion Planning? And if users generate a large size report in Financial Reporting, should more memory be allocated to the user so as to speed up the report generation speed?

    Our onsite consultants told us that as we have many web forms and some web forms contains lot of cells, the compiled Hyperion Planning application is quite large (> 1GB) and sometimes may have "out of memory" problem. We just wonder we are using 64bit version of Windows 2003 we should have a much larger memory address space. How can we improve the "out of memory" issue?
    Or Hyperion Planning is still a 32 bit application?

    The Photos app doesn't currently support subfolders, it only has the one level of folder/album. You will either need to change your folder structure on your computer to be just one level, see if there is a third-party photo app in the store that copes with subfolders, or just make do.     I'm also affected by this bug in exactly the same way as you.
    Some users have had success by closing iTunes, enetering (on OS 10.9) settings --> network --> edit locations, then create a new location with the same wifi/network settings. Then restarting iTunes.
    Others have had some success by editing settings --> iCloud --> de-selecting keychain
    neither of these fixes have worked for me.
    It appears that the iPad can "see" iTunes running on my iMac because when I open settings --> general --> 'iTunes wifi sync', "sync now" is greyed out if iTunes is not running. When iTunes is started, "sync now" is enabled but just doesn't work. Nor does the iPad appear in iTunes.

    Upgrading the iOS "over-the-air" was introduced with iOS 5. If you are currently running an iOS version < 5.0 you can only update through iTunes. Connect your iPad to your PC or Mac. Open iTunes and click on "Check for updates"

    I am not sure that I totally understand your question. From my understanding, I think you may want to charge the every websites separately by their usage. And the meaning of "host multiple websites under one basic/standard account" is that you
    want to host your multiple website on one basic/standard pricing tier.

    Co-Administrator is users for your Azure subscription. They have the permission for all of your services and included websites service. If you want the user only can manage his website on Azure portal, the one approach is that you can create the new
    subscriptions for each users. They can use their subscription to manage their service. The other approach is that you can use the Azure VM . And you can add the permission for users. And your users can login on VM using RDP.

    You'll need to do an Assumption of Liability. The parent that is the account owner and your boyfriend will both have to be at the store to do this. Your line is actually your parents and it will be your fiancee's once the change is made. But you should be able to get your upgrade and you definitely get to keep your number. Also depending on your fiancee's credit history there may be a security deposit required.

    Try to hold the sleep and home keys for about 20-30 seconds. See if you can force it to reboot.
    My iPad did something similar, as did my iPod. I charged it and it turned black, the screen wouldn't turn on but the insides were still working. A reset brought it back.
