User can't receive mail; sending ok

Hi, have read almost all mail topics, tried a lot of information, but nothing changed.
user has enabled mail in workgroup manager (both pop and imap) and in server admin(settings/access/services/mail) and server preferences/users/services
don't know what else to do.

using mail.app, i can send mail from [email protected] to other people ([email protected] for example)

got it working by changing account name from webadmin to [email protected]
in server preferences/users
(virtual hosting form mail was already enabled all the time in server admin)

HT3748 Can't receive or send emails on Exchange using Mail 5.3 (and system 10.7)

I have two Macs, one running on 10.6 and the other on 10.7 systems. I can receive and send Exchange emails on the 10.6 (mail 4.6) computer but not from the 10.7 (Mail 5.3) computer. The Account summary and set up is the same but I can not receive or send. I checked the account activities, all green. Checked the connection doctor, all green. Deleted adn re created the email account, the server accepted, yet I am still can't receive or send emails from the computer with 10.7 system. Any suggestions.

Hi Latoque, yes I did try to change it in both places but it doesn't seem to retain it for the Outgoing server.When I go to Preferences> Account information, the Incoming server password it very obvious but the Outgoing server password is not.While still on the Account information page I go down to the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): section and click on the two V's at the end of the entry and then click on the Edit SMTP Server List.....I then click on Advanced tab and enter the Outgoing password there below my User Name. I believe I am entering it in the correct place however it does not stay there and there is no reminder to Save when you exit the page.Please correct me if I an not entering the password in the right place. Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad. Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port. You may need to change in on the pad.

Double check to make sure that your same email addresses are set up on both devices in the Messages settings. Also ensure that you have text messaging forwarding turned off if you do not want to receive them on your iPad.

My ipad3 retina display running on ios6 suddenly can't receive or send email anymore. I was trying to open pdf attachment in my email and got blank screen. Restart email and reboot my ipad, email still didn't come back. Anybody have the same problem?

It sounds as if you need to speak to your university's IT department to get instructions for properly connecting your Mac to their LAN and getting email service. It is some security protocol that you are not able to properly engage I think.

You'll essentially get a "Send Receipt" immediately after sending as the message will appear in your Sent mailbox.
If you are looking for a "read reciept," It is pretty much not supported by Mail. You can set up a header for all outgoing email which will attempt to intrude on your recipients' privacy, but it will be for all emails.
Also, many email clients will not respond to a read receipt, including Mail. Even if they will respond to a read receipt, the default setting is uaually to ask the user prior to sending. So, there is no guarantee you will ever get a read receipt.

If it is really that important to you, add a sentence to your signature explaining the great necessity that you need to invade your recipient's privacy and that they need to respond immediately to let you know they've read your email.

Livecycle Designer 8 - Is it possible to have button to clear fields after user has clicked submit by email button so user can reuse form to send another response with different answers?

Users will use form to fill in stats for enquiries so they want to keep form open, complete a form, click button to submit by email, then click another button to clear form, form now ready to accept form's responses. They dont' want to keep opening form each time form needs to be completed.

Thanks for your response, not sure what you mean by a loop. I put together
a draft form to show staff in our Knowledge Centre the sort of thing
Livecycle Designer can do.

They are currently writing out on form and manually putting into excel to
keep stats on the requests.
Due to current Global Financial Crisis my section does not want to spend
extra money at the moment seeking assistance from our tech heads. So we
are looking for least work no expense option for keeping stats. I am a PA
who just happens to have Livecycle program on my computer.
We use Lotus Notes so I thought the staff could save copy of Library
request form in the stationery folder. The staff using the form want to be
able to do the following:
1. open the Library request form at the beginning of the day;
2. when a request comes in, complete the form and click on Send by email
button
3. click on a Clear Data button to clear all data from all fields so the
form is open ready for when the next request comes in.
Staff are time poor and, as this is only one of their numerous duties, they
don't want to keep going to a location and opening a file which can be very
slow on some days
Each day form may be filled out by approximately 15 staff who may receive
anything from 0 - 4 requests a day.
I am not a tech head so script writing is a deep, dark mystery. Can you
help using the form above as an example for achieving step 3 above.

if i understand this correctly, you just want everything cleared whena
buttons is pressed?
you can either do it individually:
on button click:
mytextField.rawData=""
or do a loop, using child/paretns..

Apple Mail: Can't receive mail

I can't receive mail, or set up new mailboxes. I can send mail. Here is a picture of what I'm receiving. I've troubleshooted on my own, changed ports (993, 143, 538), used connection doctor, checked and unchecked SSL, and still no success. Here are a few images.

TS3276 Mail account set up. Can not receive mail-Everything is green in Connection doctor but when checking activity it shows stop signs. Was able to receive mail until last week then all of a sudden stopped receiving mail but no changes were made.

My mail account has been set up and working to send and receive mail for several months. All of a sudden I can not receive mail. The connection doctor shows all green lights. No changes have been made and nothing has been changed on preferences on IMAP and SMTP. I can send mail. My other accounts all send and receive mail. When you click on activity the list shows stop signs. All accounts show that they are online.

UPDATE:
I deleted all the messages off the server of the offending email address and everything works fine now.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
