Hi All.
I am new to oracle and facing some issues, which needs to be solved soon. Please guide.
I have created a profile on my DB -
CREATE PROFILE Test_Profile_1 LIMIT
PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME 3
PASSWORD_GRACE_TIME 2;
And i am setting this profile to some of the users.
The users were created very long back in 2008 -09.
I want their password to be expired in 3 days and then get them into grace period so that they can change their password. (However i can expire their password at one go - but this is not the requirement).
I executed the below query after creating the profile -
ALTER USER ABAKLAN PROFILE TESTPROFILE_1;
ALTER USER AGARGSA PROFILE TESTPROFILE_1;
ALTER USER AJAHARA PROFILE TESTPROFILE_1;
To verify that my profile has set correctly i used :
select username, account_status , profile, expiry_date from dba_users;
Now what is happening the expiry date has not been set for the above users .

I don't use Toad , but I would think it world work the same way. Sqlplus works as expected:

User name change, and now my settings are gone...

I clicked on Finder, and saw that my username was a____s_______ (which is my full name spelled out). As anal as I am, I wanted everything spelled with capitalization, so I left clicked, selected "Rename a____s_______" and proceeded to type is out like so: A___ S______.
Everything was going great until I clicked on iTunes and it acted like I was a brand new user. My personal music and playlists are nowhere to be found. Same is the case in iPhoto, and upon restarting, I'm back to a beautiful Mac blue desktop background like Day 1.
I know my iTunes, etc. still exist--if I click on Macintosh HD and then Users, under my old name (a____s_______) is a folder containing all my music, pictures, etc. in folders. Technically, I could drag everything into it's place, but besides the immense time block that would take, I don't know how to get back all my other settings (desktop, dashboard, widgets, address book, etc.).
Does anyone know of a quick fix to this? It's a little irritating--so close yet so far away, you know?!

Drag the "unwanted" Library folder to the Desktop. Move the Library folder you want to the proper location. Restart the computer. If all is well you can then delete the Library folder that's on the Desktop.
This is necessary because some items are "in use" when you startup. You cannot delete a folder if it contains items "in use." Once you replace the folder and restart the old folder will no longer have anything "in use" and can be dumped.

Can no longer send or get mail. All settings are correct. Worked fine before.

I can use a secondary account but not my primary yahoo.verizon account. Verified all settings are correct but the password was erased. After re-entering password a message says I have to verify my password by entering it at www.yahoo.com. However, I DO NOT have a Yahoo email account. User Account getting locked frequently...

An User account which the developers are using is getting locked very frequently when they run some applications. They say they are giving the right password and username within the application. What should one be looking for? I am fed up by unlocking the account using ALTER USER username ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

I have also faced such kind of problems. Most of the developers forget how the application connects. they might have hard coded it or some time using a wrong parameter files.
Need to check who are all the users and how they are connecting and how the application is connecting to the database.
If there are more users then enable audit. Auditing will be the only solution.

I believe firefox has updated itself recently and when it did so I have had items removed from the desk top and all my picturs and documents have been moved, my profile settings are now gone as well. Help please

Hello, I think Firefox was automatically updated the night before last. I think this because I now am sent to the Firefox home page rather than where I was previously going. The issues that have come up are several. 1. Everything other than programs that were on my desktop have been removed. This isn't a big problem but has happened. 2. When I reboot my computer I get messages saying that the profile that has been used is either corrupted or there isn't enough security to open it or something like that. as a result it opens a generic profile and puts everything to default, when I close and reboot it has to do the same thing over again. 3. When I got this issue I tried to go to system restore and it had been turned off. I turned it back on and there were no past dates left to go back to. 4. all my photo files have been removed from the picture area, and all documents as well. I am able to search and locate them but now need to resave over 8000 items to the right places.
Can anyone help me with these issues? Is there some place or service that can remotely access my computer and fix whatever this is?

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

No messages are dowloading for one account, but two others are working. Server settings are fine, messages are dowloading on another computer OK, but not mine.

My thunderbird has stopped downloading messages in one of my accounts, the other two accounts, from different providers, are working fine.
We have two PC's downloading messages from the same account, and it has worked fine like this for years. The other PC is still receiving the messages. I've checked my webmail, and can log in fine there, the settings in my account have not been changed in Thunderbird, and are the same as the other PC.
I looked in the error console in Thunderbird, this is what message I get :

Urgent: Essbase server getting hanged frequently

I am facing an issue with essbase server which gets hanged frequently. Following are essbase logs

MII UserID gets locked frequently

Hi
I have created a MII user through which PI post messages to MII MesageListener. This user is getting locked frequently so PI fails to post the messages. Can anyone tell me why the userID gets locked frequently? I am using MII version 12.1.6

In cases that I have seen, it is usually some job folks forgot about that did not get the password updated when it changed. A scheduled job is frequently the problem, but not always as I have seen message listener jobs which were causing the problems or even webpage invoked transactions.

User cannot see its own profile

I just configured Identity Manager and Access Manager. But logging in to User Manager as a normal user, and clicking on "My Profile" subtab result a message "You do not have sufficient access rights". What is missing here.

Now I can see the user own profile after configuring searchbase and attribute access control.
Now I found another problem and hope you have answer for that, or someone else does. I log as a Master Administrator (also a Master Identity Administrator). When I go to User Manager tab and clicking on Create User Identity subtab, I got "You do not have sufficient access rights" error message. What do I need to configure to let a master user to be able to do this?

How do I reset or delete settings in the Messaging section on a 6790? I input something that I need to delete.

You can only reset the password if you know the original. Apple did not make a back door to this as it would be insecure.
Why do you want to start again? If you just want to start again click create new keychain. Then you start from scratch and the old keychain is kept in ~/Library/keychains just incase you remember your password.

Oracle user account is getting locked frequently

I am using Oracle 11g on Linux . I have user named "XXX" to whom I have assigned a DEFAULT profile. The Password parameters in DEFAULT profile are as follow.

How to Interpret the ACCOUNT_STATUS Column in DBA_USERS (Doc ID 260111.1)
Expected behaviour is:
1. Oracle release is <= 11.1.0.7.
DBA_USERS.ACCOUNT_STATUS = LOCKED(TIMED) whenever the number of failed login attempts is > FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS
2. Oracle release is >= 11.2 and PASSWORD_LOCK_TIME = unlimited:
DBA_USERS.ACCOUNT_STATUS = LOCKED whenever the number of failed login attempts is > FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS
3. Oracle release is >= 11.2 and PASSWORD_LOCK_TIME = <some fix value>
DBA_USERS.ACCOUNT_STATUS = LOCKED(TIMED) whenever the number of failed login attempts is > FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS
Note
that 10.2.0.5 displays the same behavior as 11.2, because the fix that changed the behavior in 11.2 was introduced in 10.2.0.5.

1. This is where your main Profile folder is located:
C:\Documents and Settings\myname\'''Application Data'''\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default

No, don't delete that folder or the files in it. Those files would be re-created the next time you open Firefox. Those files are necessary.
3. Firefox put that file there, so it knows its' there. Delete it and Firefox will download that data all over again, and put it back in that folder.
4. Bookmarks are stored in the '''places.sqlite''' file in the main Profile folder, since the Firefox 3 versions.
Some of those files have been moved around from one major version of Firefox to the next to improve various aspects of "performance" and also to minimize file size for automated personal data backup purposes & for roaming Profiles in a large network setting. The urlclassifier file can get to be quite large, which could really screw-up roaming Profiles on a network server.

Users log in for the first time, get a temporary profile.

New server running 2008 R2 in a Workgroup environment; users have profiles that were created Server Manager->Configuration->Local Users and Groups. As noted in threads with similar issues the person logging in gets the "You have been logged on
with a temporary profile..." message. No other evidence of their profiles exist in "C:/users/" (individual profile folders aren't created - just a Temp folder that disappears after the user logs off) or the Registry (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\Currentversion\ProfileList\..., just a Temp key that disappears after the user logs off). I tried granting administrator permissions to one of the affected profiles as there are admin accounts on the machine that aren't affected; made no difference.
So to be clear in my case, other solutions that I've found online don't work because there are no registry entries or users folders to delete or rename.

Thank you for the reply, but I've narrowed the issue down to the login scripts that were created for the users. After I removed the script from the profile settings the user logged in normally with a persistent folder.

User only gets temprary profile on 2012 Terminal Server

Have a 3-Host Remote Desktop Services farm using 2012 R1. We are using User Profile Disks with "Store all user settings and data on the user profile disk" enabled. The user has full control rights to the UPD share and NTFS permissions.
One user cannot login with his standard profile - he keeps getting a temporary profile.
I have already tried deleting his SID from the profile list in the registry here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
After I reboot and try logging his account in again, it will create a temporary profile and leave a .bak profile SID in the registry. I have tried renaming that to remove the .bak with no luck.
All other users don't seem to be having any issues.
I get Event ID 1515 on user profile service: "Windows has backed up this user profile. Windows will automatically try to use the backup profile the next time this user logs on."
And: Event ID 1511: Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile.
Any ideas?

From your description it seems there is single User profile Disk issue. There is one related Hotfix for this issue, please try to install and check whether your issue been resolved.

Hi, that hotfix was already applied. Troubleshooting the issue further, it seemed that the user's UPD was locked or corrupted. After I had all users logoff the Terminal Servers, I rebooted the Server that was hosting the UPDs. After the reboot, the user's
profile loaded correctly on all Terminal Servers.
