  • Problem with using DTW for SAP BO PL11

    Hello, experts!
I'm using SAP B1 8.8 PL 11, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition.
I have a script, which put data for Item Master Data import into temporary table, after that I want to transfer this data via DTW into SAP B1 database.
There are some new rules for DTW beginning from PL 10; I've adapted my script - removed RecordKey and replaced it with ParentKey everywhere in child tables.
But when I try to use DTW with ODBC connection, and press Test in form, where query should been specified, in result table values for first column are spreaded for the second one: first column ItemCode and second column ItemName are equal to Item Code (http://s39.radikal.ru/i083/1009/0b/b7071404dc99.jpg). But in SQL:http://s001.radikal.ru/i195/1009/1c/3cb40e506842.jpg
If I don't press Test and just use it, it shows me a lot of import errors like "Invalid XML Wrong value for column" and shows that Column received shifted value from neighbour column (i.e. ItemName column received value from ItemCode column).
My table has following structure (all column names were copied from appropriate template file, bundled with DTW, saving the order):
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[tmpsapb1_Items](
       [ItemCode] [varchar](50) NOT NULL,
       [ItemName] [varchar](60) NOT NULL,
       [ForeignName] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [ItemsGroupCode] [varchar](10) NULL,
       [CustomsGroupCode] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [SalesVATGroup] [varchar](2) NOT NULL,
       [BarCode] [varchar](8000) NOT NULL,
       [VatLiable] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [PurchaseItem] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [SalesItem] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [InventoryItem] [varchar](4) NOT NULL,
       [IncomeAccount] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [ExemptIncomeAccount] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [ExpanseAccount] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [Mainsupplier] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [SupplierCatalogNo] [varchar](17) NULL,
       [DesiredInventory] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [MinInventory] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [Picture] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [User_Text] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,
       [SerialNum] [varchar](1) NOT NULL,

Your temporary table will be the first trouble maker. ItemCode length is 20 for example. Check the item master table structure and recreate your temporary table.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • How to upload price for a item in price list using DTW ?

    hi all,
How to upload prices of all the items in price list using DTW ?
What are templates used for it ?
    Item masters were already created.
    Jeyakanthan

    Hi
Create two Excel templates 'Items.xls' and 'Items_Prices.xls'
Since you have already imported items, just have the record key and item code alone in the 'Items.xls' . For example:
    RecordKey.......ItemCode
    1.......................I0001
    2.......................I0002
In the Items_Prices template, Fill Pricelist Number fromOPLN and Price of the Item
    RecordKey....LineNum......Price
1......................1..............350.00   (Means for Item I001, Pricelist 1 is updated with 350)
1......................2..............300.00   (Means for Item I001, Pricelist 2 is updated with 300)
2......................1..............550.00   (Means for Item I002, Pricelist 1 is updated with 550)
2......................2..............600.00    (Means for Item I002, Pricelist 2 is updated with 600)
In step 4 of DTW, Choose
    Check - Update Exisiting Object
    Uncheck - Import New Object
This should update the pricelist alone for the items

  • Using DTW to create Outgoing Payment for two Incoming Payment on Accounts

    Hi Experts,
I hope you can help me with something i'm trying to do please.
    The scenario is this:
Customer has two Incoming Payment on Accounts:
    £0.30
    £10.00
I am trying to create a DTW Outgoing Payment for the same Customer which selects these two Payment on Accounts.
I am using the spreadsheets OVPM and VPM2.
    OVPM:
    DocNum  DocType    CardCode      TrsfrSum
    1              rCustomer  C23900          10.3
    VPM2:
    ParentKey   DocEntry   InvType          PaidSum
    1                  77              it_Receipt       10
    1                   78             it_Receipt        0.30
Please note:  77 and 78 are the Incoming Payment Numbers.   I have not left any columns out of my templates when I do the import.
I keep getting an error message which says u201CBase document card and target document card do not matchu201D, I found Note 1254839 for this but I have the correct BP and upper/lower case.
I have tested on 8.81 PL04 and PL07 and get the same results.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks so much,
    Caroline

    Hi Gordon,
    Thanks for your email.
The sceanrio is that the Incoming Payments have already been made (as POA) in SAP on a Customer Account.
Now the situation is that an Outgoing Payment needs created via DTW against the same Customer, but which selects the two POA which were made as Incoming Payments.
I can do it in SAP whereby I don't use DTW, but whenever I use DTW I get that error message.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks again,
    Caroline

  • DTW for PO's and Customer payments applied to oldest invoices.

Hi everyone in this forum, I'm so glad that there is a community like this one so we can request to expert and not so expert SAP users.
This thread is made with the intention of request help in the following matter: The company I started recently to work with, wants to upload all Purchase Orders via Excel (with information sent by our suppliers) as well as apply customer payments with information of our bank accounts.
And I have read a lot about the DTW (Data Transfer Workbench) and I know that it works for importing information; I know for PO's is possible but not sure about application of payments received.
Does someone out there knows if it's possible to use this functionality DTW for this.
And also guide me in how to fill up the templates, for example how will the records will be match, through the DocEntry field?
What happens if i enter the header manually in SAP, assigning a Document number and providing it to our supplier so we can import only the lines. In the Lines template where can I enter this number so the lines are created automatically without importing the header.
Thanks in advance for your help,

    Hi Israel,
This is possible, but you would need to run the uploads in several steps.
Once you have uploaded the Purchase Orders, you would need to convert these to AP Invoices for making payments against (Purchase Orders are non financial documents).
You will need the docentry field from the PO to be created in order to link the invoices to the PO. Then, once you have the doc entry of the AP Invoices you can create vendor payments & link them to the invoices, and a method of payment.
It may be easier to use the SAP function "Payment Wizard" to generate payments based on invoices rather than DTW

  • Importing Legacy A/R and A/P Invoices using DTW

    Hi All,
I have in interesteing situation which I need some help for.
We started using SAP B1 begining of 2008. We used DTW to import the open A/P and A/R invoices from last year (legacy data). We didn't want the legacy data to have any impact on P&L, only to be able to receive and make payments for these invoices in B1. Therefore we used a service inovice without posting to the revenue and COS accounts. Since it is not possible to post directly to a control account I created a new G/L account for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (I called them AP Migrated and AR Migrated), which is not a control account.
When preparing the DTW files, In the lines file I specfied the AccountCode as this AR and AP Migrated G/L accounts.
Since the BP to whom these invoices relate to, have the A/P and A/R control account defined in the BP master data, each of these migrated invoices posted to the AP Migrated account with the Offset Account being the original A/P Control Account.
Now that I am recording payments, the AP and AR accounts are being updated but not the AP and AR Migrated accounts. To illustrate: Let's suppose I migrated an AP invoice for $100. It posted to the AP Migrated account and the Offset Account being the AP Control Account. Now the balance on the AP Migrated Account shows $100, and the balance on the AP Control Account shows -$100. Now after I record the payment for this invoice the AP Control Account balance is $0, but the AP Migrated account still shows $100.
How can this be rectified, and  is this the correct way of doing this?
    Many thanks,
    Myran

    Hi Suda,
Once again, many thanks for your good and speedy replies.
I am only importing the AR & AP transactions which I need to process payments in the new fiscal year. I am not importing all the other PL stuff.
Am I better off using then a seperate GL account for the AP and a seperate one for AR?

  • Upload of BP Data using DTW

    Hi,
I tried to upload the BP data in one of the databases using DTW.
I was able to upload the masters successfully but was not able to upload the bill to and ship to addresses for the BP data.
Data which had special characters like , or  hyphen appeared with double quotes, how can this be corrected?
    Jyoti

    Yes, I am...
Is there an issue with the address type field value...?
I have been using "bo_BillTo" for billing address and for Shipping addresses "bo_ShipTo"...is this correct...?
I have also noticed that there are some values for which the "System Information" shows as exact input values, however the values or input required for those columns are completely different.
For e.g. column called "VATStatus" in the BP template, there are two options available, "Liable" or "Exempt".
The value to be inserted in this column for the former is "vliable" at the time of import...
How can we determine what to input for the latter?
    Hope you understand my question...

  • How do we do DTW for AP downpayment Request in 2005 B

How do we do DTW for AP downpayment Request in 2005 B
    Rgds

    Hi Praveen,
I suggest to use sales order or invoice template. you could also export the template from DTW --> maintain interface (press Ctrl+M) --> drill down and search oDownPayment. You will find the documents and its contents consists of documents, document_lines, serialnumbers, batchnumbers, wht data. Click one by one of the contents and then click tools --> click create templates for the structure and then you could have the template for upload the downpayment.
Maintain interface seems a way out to have template for uploading a certain document if it is not available in this folder :
    C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates

  • DTW for Last Purchase Price

    Dear all,
Can we import Last Pruchase Price to SBO using DTW ? so, I can see the historical of last purchase price when I open PO
    Best regards
    Wibisana

    Dear Wibisana,
what is your pupose to update last purchase price list ?
To update price list, you must have the explanation about how to update last purchase pricelist:
    Last Purchase Price List
The prices in this price list are updated automatically by the system when the following transactions are performed:
    1.     When you enter an incoming invoice # see Purchasing
    1.     When you enter a goods receipt # see Goods Receipt
    1.     When you enter a positive opening balance for an item # see Inventory and Stock Postings
    1.     When you enter a positive inventory result that triggers a goods receipt # see Inventory and Stock Postings
    1.     When a product with a BOM is manufactured, where the price of the product is calculated from the last purchase prices of the components # see Production.
    1.     When data imports are performed
If none of these transactions have been performed in the system for an item, the "Last Purchase Price" price list will not contain the item
Only the list of the transactions mentioned above changes the price of an item in the "Last Purchase Price" price list.
Even if you enter one of these transactions, but assign it the value 0, the price will not be included or updated in the "Last PurchasePrice" price list.
You can refer other price lists to the "Last Purchase Price" price list with a defined factor. You cannot, however, change the prices in the "Last Purchase Price" price list manually.
then you use the DTW template:
    1. item
    2. item_prices
you can have both from this folder:
    C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates\Templates\oItems
then, in the DTW, you use object oItem.
the DTW templates (item and item_prices) must contains the data where they will not act like import but update.
in the item_prices, you must put :
    1. linenum : 0 for pricelist 1; 1 for pricelist 2; etc
    2. pricelist : 1 for pricelist 1; 2 for pricelist 2; etc
actually, in the pricelist window, do you see that the pricelist last purchase price have base pricelist ? in the form, you will see that the 01 Purchase Price List have last purchase price as its base pricelist.
So, in the template you must use it.
After updating using DTW finished, you could try to use one of the item in the purchase order and see if the unit price changes or not.
I will ask my friend to send the template if you need.
    Rgds,

  • Uploading A/R Service Invoices using DTW.

    HI ALL,
I need to upload A/R service invoices for our customer using DTW. I tried using the templates Documents and Document Lines in Invoices for the same, but I am getting an error "Location Is Missing". Where do I put the location..?? I tried using the warehouse code column but the error persists.... am i using the correct templates..?? How do i Upload these Service Invoices...??
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pritesh.

    Hi Pritesh......
Sometimes in SAP Default templates Location code fields does not come. You have to create another template from DTW.
Just login to DTW  and go to templates. Click on Maintain Interface and select the Sales and Choose AR invoice. There Click on Document_Lines first again go to Tools and click on create template and save it somewher.
In this template you get the location code field then put the location code here. And then try to upload.......
