Using OTO CTS+  in Solution Manager 4.0

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to configure the OTO in Solution manager, I somehow configured something as described in the CTS+ guide, I also was able to create a Project as shown in the RKT-solman.
What i'm missing now is how do i use this tool, from beginning , creating a request and transporting it to the different systems.
thanks for your help
Murat

Hi Murat,
You are doing the Java Transports for XI or EP system? For EP systems create the tpz files.
1.From solman create the TP using the normal/urgent correction.
2.Then using CTS borwser attach the TPZ file to the TP created
3.Relase the TP from Solution manager
4.Import to quality using solman and check if it is moved.
Revert for clarifications.

Avinash.

  • How to configure CTS+ for Solution Manager for XI 3.0

    Hi ,
We are working on XI 3.0 SP 20 and Doing a file system based transport of .TPZ files. We observed that there is a possibilit of misssing the objects while tranporting. So we are planning to set CTS+ with our Solution Manager.
    Question:
    1. Can we configure CTS+ through the latest version of Solution Manager for XI 3.0 landscape?
If Yes .. How?   If No... Why?
    2. Is there any way to make the the transport automated like ABAP tranports.
If there is.... Please send the link or documents..
    Thanks

    Hi Venkat,
Thank you for the Demo. The Demo gives me information about the CTS+ setup. I am looking for the compatability of CTS+ for XI 3.0.
We have Solution Manager 7.1 setup in place.
Please let us know if we can setup CTS+ on solution Manager (7.01 EHP1) and use it to transport XI 3.0 SP20 IR/ID objects  across  the XI landscape.

  • RFC problem (CTS with Solution Manager)

    Hi everybody,
I'm configuring a transport landscape with Solman.
For demo purpose I created 3 clients in a Sandbox system (SBX), which should function like a 3-system-landscape. I created a transport domain in Solman (SM1) and added SBX into the domain (SM1 and SBX are not in one transport directory). The transport routes are configured from SBX:810 - SBX:820 - SBX:830. After I distributed the configuration, I can also see routes in SBX.
I also used SOLMAN_SETUP to generate the RFC connections to every client (READ and TMW), also to SBX:000 and SM1:000.
Then I created a Solman Project and wanted to configure the IMG-Project in "System Landscape" tab (so that I can use this project for CTS). But as I tried to create the IMG, I got an error:
    S:No RFC authorization:000  function module SPROJECT_CREATE_NO_DIA_R.
    Message no. No RFC authorization000
Can somebody give me a hint?
Another problem is, I created a customizing request and a workbench request in SBX:810, I can see them in SE09 in SBX, but in SM1 I cannot see them! I also don't understand here...
I'd preciate any help from you!

    Hello Charlie
Seeing all the STMS queus in Solution Manager is no problem. The way we have set it up is that the Solution Manager is the TMS domain controller and all systems are included into the TMS domain of the Solution Manager.
That makes the STMS queues of the managed SAP systems visible in transaction STMS.
About two years ago SAP showed plans for a new layer for CTS called CCTS (central CTS) which would only be available on Solution Manager and it's purpose would be even more features and central transport request management. However CCTS has vanished from the radar. It's no longer mentioned and at SAP TechED 2011 it was nowhere to be found.
Using CHARM the idea is also that person X creates a request which then a developer Y can use to insert objects into. Why? Segregation of duties is the answer. Creating a request is always done in the managed SAP system, using RFC you will jump to SE01 or another respective transaction to create the request.
QGM and CHARM add another layer (control) on top of CTS, that's how you should visualize it. If you look up presentations on CCTS you will be able to visualy see that.
You can read up on CHARM on https://service.sap.com/solutionmanager
There are also interesting SAPPress books available
The customizing option is to be found in SE09 I believe but I'll check tomorrow and update this reply because I'm on my iPad now without SAP system available.
The obligation is then you must have an IMG_Project in your managed SAP system that has been CTS enabled. Creating such an img project is easy, transaction spro_admin, fill in title, save, go to tab transport request (or something) and enable the project for CTS.
    Kind regards
    Tom

  • Using more than one Solution Manager for different usages

    Dear all,
we are using a solution manager system with >100 connected systems.
The system should primarily be used as service desk system, but is also used for BC issues (e.g. MOPZ,...) at the moment.
We have to implement a central monitoring system (CEN) using the CCMS infrastructure.
It is recommended to use a seperate system for this issue, because of high performance requirement and the requirement to have the newest support packages for CEN+MOPZ.
Because of that recommendation we are thinking about installation of a second solution manager system which should handle all BC and Monitoring (CEN+SolutionManager-Monitoring) issues.
Do you have any experience with such a landscape? Are there known problems respectively is such a landscape possible/workable? How should the systems be connected? ( client system<=>solman / solman<=>solman )
I regret that I could not find any official landscape recommendations from SAP for big landscapes (VAR environment)?
If you know any applicable documents, please let me know.
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards,
    Sascha

    Hi Sascha
Technically Solution Manager is being billed as the Central system for everything Service Desk, MOPZ and CCMS - one central location for all scenarios
One of the reasons for this is lifecycle management -- monitoring or EWA scenario finds a problem, service desk raises the issue, charm or mopz implements the solution and it is tested and distributed and the whole lifecycle is documented one system. Indeed I am aware of no functionality to integrate scenarios between Solution Manager systems - each Solution Manager system in your proposal will be standalone for each scenario
I can't provide guarantees because SAP recommend 1 Solman PRD only, but it might be possible to use another PRD Solution Manager system (or client) for scenarios that not already setup in the existing Solution Manager system - this certainly is the most possible way to have 2 PRD Solution Manager systems (or clients) running in parallel.
The key thing to be aware of is RFC conflicts - as each scenario usually has its own RFC this might be avoided - however
do watch out for situations where scenarios share RFCs or you if find RFCs existing with the same name OR client and SID in any systems in the following landscape
Landscape 1 - Satellite System 1 to Solman System 1 Service Desk, MOPZ
Landscape 2 - Satellite System 1 to Solman System 2 CCMS, EWA
    Best wishes

  • Use of CRMD_Order with Solution Manager

When you create a change request through the CRMD_order how do you link it to a business process structure in Solution Manager? Through custom fields? Or are you obligated to start the initiation of a change request within solution manager through issue/message tab in configuration (SOLAR02)?

I do not know if anyone can confirm this , but I finally was able to assign the business scenarios from my business process structure to the solution with the source project.
(For those interested you have to go into transaction DSWP, Select Solution Landscape, go into Solution Landscape Maintenance, select your solution structure on the left side of the screen and get into business scenarios, make sure you are in change mode, then use the download under scenario name to select your scenarios).
When I create an issue and this is what I hope someone can confirm, go into context and add a business scenario, it doesn't show in SOLAR02 under the issues/messages tab.
This is somewhat inconsistent, as when I create an issue out of SOLAR02 it does assign the business scenario automatically and obviously will show in the list. I am not sure why it doesn't show when I create the issue out of DSWP.
    Thanks

  • Using another CEN for Solution Manager

    Hi all,
we have the situation, that our CEN was existing long before we raised our own solution manager.
My question is quite simple: Is it possible to use that remote CEN for the system monitoring functions in solution manager or not - without migrating it to the solman. I would be very nice if anyone can make a proposal because I cannot imagine, that I am the only one in the world with this demand.
    thank a lot
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
as far as I know, it is not possible to have "a CEN and a SOL in parallel" and connecting them e.g. via RFC to get the alert data from CEN to SOL. You can only use this constellation in special cases like SL-Reporting (where you can specifiy an RFC to CEN in customizing). But I do not know any way in area System Monitoring.
We had the same situation as you have and decided to migrate the CEN into the SOL. For a couple of weeks, we let the two systems run in parallel (this was done by registering all the CCMS-Agents at both systems) and then simply overtaking all the agents from CEN to SOL. The only manual task you need to do is re-assigning the central autoreaction methods.
If you want to know more about this, feel free to come back....

    Dirk

  • Using TREX in SAP Solution Manager

    Dear all,
I want to setup TREX for document search purpose in my SAP Solution manager system.
There is already TREX installed on another system, & I have setup the connection between solution manager & TREX.
My question is , in order to use TREX for document search , I need to connect solution manager to Knowledge warehouse?
    is this true?
why can't we use TREX to search document in SAP Solution manager, BUT to use functions of SAP Knowledge Warehouse 6.0 or SAP Knowledge Provider, to store documents?
and anyone can show me more detail documentation about the configuration?
thank you very much to share!
    kelly

    Hi Kelly,
You can have a look into the SAP Solution Manager system and there you can call transaction SPRO. You find information for TREX installation with the path:
Solution Manager Implementation Guide ->SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Cross Scenario Settings -> TREX Setup
    Best regards,

    Hi,
I would like to add new fields using BADI DNO_EVENT_SAVE. How can I add new fields? Thanks.

    Hi,
This is the blog which explains how to add custom fields for CRM_DNO_MONITOR.

  • Using central Solution Manager for monitoring multiple customers

    Hello,
We are working on monitoring SAP systems of several customers. For every customer we have configured central monitoring on Solution Manager system of that customer. All satellite systems are added to RZ21 and CCMS agents are configured correctly. On the Solution Manager, in RZ20 we have created a rule based monitor specific to the needs of customer, and that monitor is used for the whole landscape of every customer.
But now I need to configure our central Solution Manager system which will collect CCMS data from all satellite systems of all customers on one place in RZ20. That central Solution Manager system should have direct connection only to customer Solution Manager systems and not to their satellite systems. Is this possible? If yes, can you please explain me how to do it or point me to documentation? I was unable to find solution.
To make this more clear I made a picture of desired configuration:

    Hi Dejan,
as far as I know this is not possible.
we had similar issues, every time we migrated a new customer to or datacenter. Our solution was, to register the CCMS agents to two systems for a period of migration.
Sometime ago, I found a question for that an SDN:
Using another CEN for Solution Manager

  • Solution Manager & Workflow driven Transport Mangement

    Dear SDN Members,
I would like to know if it is possible to use a workflow drivene TMS within the Solution Manager 3.2 using serveral approval steps. For instance an approval between DEV and QAS and an approval between QAS and PRD.
We would like to implement the workflow for our 4 system R/3 landscape, 3 system BW and XI landscape.
    Regards,
    Niek Weustink

    Hi Mrutyunjay,
As far as I know, you can only attach one CTS project per Solution Manager Project.
The idea is that for each different project you have for your satellite systems you´ll have to have one Solution Manager project.
This way you can use the features on Solution Manager side to control all changes ( for instance, using Change Request Management ).
Part of the CTS functionalities that we have on standard SAP installations are being migrated to Solution Manager controls.
So, you can have as many CTS projects you need on your ECC as long as you have their correspondent Solution Manager projects.
Based on ITIL standards, Solution Manager is the central point to control all changes you make in your systems.

    Valdecir

  • View the document in Solution Manager

I am told that there is an option in Solution Manager to have the document generate a link that can be emailed to the approver. This allows the approver to view the document in SM without actually having access to SM. The approver can then reply back to the e-mail with his/her approval after viewing document.
I am new the SM any detailed input with how to steps would really help..
    thanks in advance.

    Hi B_J,
it is correct, each document has attributes, on the attribute tab in the button bar, there is an icon to generate an url for the selected document. This link is stored in your windows clipboard, so you can past this link in an e-mail or wordfile. The person who gets the e-mail must have access to the Solution Manager via network, he needs no personal user in the system. The link used a service of Solution Manager(check in the Solution Manager IMG at the HTTP services). This service requires a user to read the document. If you have no user, then it is necessary that in the system a default user is assigned to the service or to its alias. Now to your second use case, the approval, you can not bring any information INTO Solution Manager, you can only answer the e-mail, with the info, yes the document is OK, but you can not set a status or an other attribute at the document, that the document is approved.
