Using touch ID to end Guided access

using touch ID to end guided access works, however, if part of the Guided Access options used shaded areas( by circling an area to disable it) is on, the shaded areas remain on screen despite ending guided access with touch ID, however, this problem does not occur if I triple clicking and end guided access by entering the pass code. It seems that this problem only occurs while using touch ID.

When the phone is locked it would be nice feature to wake up the phone and unlock on touch of home button using Touch ID.
(Instead of pressing the home button).

  • Guided access ending

Has anybody experienced Guided Access ending without entering the password? I need students to be restricted in the apps they use and have found some ipads end guided access letting them use other apps.

Drawing on the screen using "Guided Access" is sufficient to determine a certain region to disable it...
    Thanks anyway!

  • IPad stuck on guided access?

I turned on guided access on my iPad, but when I triple click the home button to exit, it nothing shows up but a message saying 'Guided access is enabled. Triple click the home button to exit". How can I fix this? It won't turn off or anything.

You're right sberman, that is how it is SUPPOSED to work but the problem is, Guided Access doesn't always work like it should.  I use this for my 11 month old, and in the FIsher Price apps (and some others) once you enable guided access and try triple clicking the home button to end Guided Access, the screen just says "guided access is enabled" – (no kidding!)
Short of whipping the iPad across the room when the iPad is making tinkerbell noises with every gesture from a kid's app and you need to get back to work, you can force reboot the iPad by holding down the home & sleep/wake buttons at the same time for 15 seconds.  When the screen goes dark, press the sleep/wake button and the the iPad will reboot and you can use it again.
Hopefully Apple solves this bug.  It's potentially a great feature, but this bug really kills it.

  • IPad in no touch guided access; home button physically broken.

Somebody got my iPad stuck in no touch guided access. The home button is physically broken, and I was using the onscreen home button. Can I wait for the iPad to die so I can use the pad again? Or will I have to do something else.

This is a long shot. Does assistive touch work in Guided access ?  If it does tap the onscreen button for the menu, then triple tap the onscreen home button to turn off Guided Access.

  • How can I disable the assistive touch programmatically ? This is like a bug. Though the Guided access is enabled a user can take screenshot of my application content. How can I solve this ? any idea ....

Question: Do you think the response from the support staff is correct? I mean, surely, I can't be the only CF user on a shared box whose other users need to modify the date and time within their applications. Even if they do it at the application level for their domain, surely it wouldn't affect mine, would it? That was what was implied by the support people, but I have a feeling they are way off, or covering for some goof-up on their end. I struggled like hell yesterday trying to get this to work and I did not get very far at all.
I found an interesting tutorial here which does a comparison of time zones and, theoretically, this might do the trick. But if what the guy told me was nonsense then I won't bother with it. For the record, our calendar has been working fine for about a week now.

i have started the guided access and that time my ipod touch 3 battery gets over now i cant close my ipod or cannot restore it

Without knowing what happens when you try to restore the iPod
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Guided access use for kiosk

I intend to use "guided access" for a single library app. The ipad is intended to stay on, however, if it remains idle for awhile if first "dims" and the shuts down. How do I let patrons restart it with out access to the Home button?

Once the iPad goes into sleep mode, either the On button or the Home button must be used to wake it.
The only option I see is to set time out to Never.

  • Guided access wont work ios 8-ipod touch 5

when ever i triple click the home button and tap guided access, it doesnt do anything, the menu just goes away, its enabled in settings and it worked in ios 7 just fine.

You can try the standard fixes:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
That problem has not been reported here before so I do not know if it is a bug in the update

  • Guided access options

Can "guided access settings" be used to restrict a device to only one app for research purposes?
    Thanks.

    Guided Access
Guided Access helps someone using iPod touch to stay focused on a particular task. Guided Access limits iPod touch to a single app, and lets you control which app features are available. Use Guided Access to:
Temporarily restrict iPod touch to a particular app
Disable areas of the screen that aren’t relevant to a task, or areas where an accidental gesture might cause a distraction
Disable the iPod touch hardware buttons
Use Guided Access: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access, where you can:
Turn Guided Access on or off
Set a passcode that controls the use of Guided Access and prevents someone from leaving an active session
Set whether iPod touch can go to sleep during a session
Start a Guided Access session: Open the app you want to run, then triple-click the Home button. Adjust settings for the session, then click Start.
Disable app controls and areas of the app screen: Circle any part of the screen you want to disable. You can use the handles to adjust the area.
Ignore all screen touches: Turn off Touch.
Keep iPod touch from switching from portrait to landscape or from responding to any other motions: Turn off Motion.
End a Guided Access session: Triple-click the Home button and enter the Guided Access passcode.

  • Ipod stuck on "guided access"

5th generation Ipod touch ios 7.
I do not know how it happened but it suddenly is stuck on "guided access" and it says to circle apps I want disabled. I don't want any apps disabled but I tried what it says and it don't work. It wont turn off, nothing works

Two moons maybe this will help, comes straight out of the manual. If you don't know the passcode try resetting, Press and hold the power and home buttons together, until the Apple logo appears, usually takes about 10 seconds+/-. Then release both buttons. If home page comes up then try Settings>General>Accessibility>Guided Access. Good luck.  Cheers.

  • End users accessing HTMLDB

    Hi,
I am new to HTML DB. I am planning to convert Access based DB to HTMLDB. I will be creating the tables, setting up the security for the end users who can only view and/or edit the existing tables.
Can I do this using HTML DB? End users can't edit the application or they shouldn't have access to any of the Developer features of HTMLDB.
Can some one guide me on how to do this.
    Thanks,
    S DBA

    Sree,
It appears you asked the same or at least a similar question back in April:
How to open an Application to Users?
Looks like Raj offered a solution then. Did you try his suggestions?
