VAT Configuration for India with out CIN

Hi Experts,
Greetings. My clinet is into service industry, basically our products include online data sets, software. When the Project was implemented as per the discussions with the tax experts the system is configured with out CIN. All these Proudcts are liable only for Service Tax.So a new "ZSER"  tax condition type is created and included in the pricing procedures.
Now Business decided to sell few more products in India through India Legal Entity. Few tax experts say that some of these Products may fall Under VAT.
As I am completely New to India Tax scenarios could some one help me on what questions I can ask the business regardng VAT and When we say VAT does it also mean that a separate document need to be created like Excise invoice or some thing before we actually create an Invoice and wil there be any additonal reporting requirements from VAT perspective?
I have gone through the VAT doucmnetation available in the Net but couldnt undestand completely as i am not much familar with CIN.
Request your help in this Regard.
Thanks,
Srini

Hi Prasanth,
Thanks a lot for your reply. The condtion types JIVP and JIVC are not available in our system. How ever  we will create two new tax conditon types by copying the most nearst condtion type and add them into the SD pricing Procedure and FI tax Procedure.
Do we need to configure these two condtion types as tax determinition rules in Path: Spro-> IMG> S&D->Basic functions->Taxes>define tax determinatin rules : Here for these two condtion types we need to define the possible classfications for the cusotmer as well as material and subsequently Cleanse the cusotmer master data and material master data to update the classification for these two tax categories?
Is there any other option like using one tax category like MWST/UTXJ  and make the two condition types to work. I am habituated to u.s and canada tax procedures where we can have multiple tax conditon types using one tax category. Please excuse if my question is basic.
Thanks,
Srini

  • Questions on setting up PeopleSoft FIN AP Business Unit for India with TDS

    Hi,
Does anyone here have some advice for me on how to handle AP transactions for a business unit set up for India with TDS (withholding) and statutory reporting.
We are configuring AP BU for India in our existing database which has other BUs for other countries not using withholding. For India the way we understood on statutory is that all invoices must be recognised for withholding at the time of invoice entry or payment which ever ealiest. For PeopleSoft we always have to create voucher before we can make mayment so the earliest occurace will be at voucher entry that withholding should be deducted (at voucher post).
The problem that we are encountering is that if we have prepayment invoice, we can use prepaid voucher to record this. However, when we receive the final invouce and entered into PeopleSoft the voucher post reversed the original withholding lines and recreate in the final invoice with final invoice amount. This could be in different period. As for the India rule the way we understood this is that the entries that created at prepaid should not be reversed, also those withholding might already be paid to the goverment in prior period before receiving the final invoice. The final invoice should have withholding calculate just for the difference of the invoice balance.
Our other problem is on the statutory reporting that all transactions should be recorded in that particular period. Our current setup has AP close period at the end of each month which means we cannot enter invoices raised in previous period or have adjustments put in the period that already closed.
Any help and advice on how companies that has India AP business unit deal with the above mentioned issues are much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Marc Sachdeva.
I don't mean where to set up withholding. I have alredy configured all withholding details and everything works fine in AP.
However, as India statutory comes in, I'd like to know how other companies handle cases like accounting entries for transactions in specific period if your system has AP/GL closed periods. Normal cases would be put entries in the next accounting period. But as my understanding on the Indian rules is that withholding must be recorded at the time of entering the invoice. So how should adjustment be made.
Another thing is the prepayment invoices, using PeopleSoft Prepaid voucher would cause the accounting entries for withholding lines to be reversed and then re-recorded when posting the final invoice (that matches with the prepaid). I would like to know how companies are dealing with such case as the TDS lines could be revsersed and recalculate in different accounting period. Also if the period that it revsered the TDS % could have changed and when the reverse happens it will recalculate withholding based on the new rate for the whole of invoice amt.
For example an invoice of 10000 INR, 50% is to be recorded and paid in advance so raise the invoice of 5000 INR in Feb. TDS is 10%.
    - So vendor will be paid 4500 and 500 is for withholding.
    - In April then receive final invoice of 10000 INR, record into PS as 10000 but matched to prepaid so the remaining invoice is 5000. withholding rate in Apr is now 15% so 15% should be applied to the remaining invoice of 5000 INR. As the prepaid voucher option reversed withholding lines and recalculate with final invoice total so the withholding to be deducted is calculated at 15% = 1500 (10000 * 15%).
    - As the prepaid invoice withholding might have already been paid in March before the rate changed, the final invoice should have withholding of 750.
I'm not sure if my understanding of recording withholding for India is correct and whether it really needs to be recorded in the month that invoice is raised. As the way I understood and have been told it has to be recorded in that month. I.e. invoice received on 30 April must be entered into accounting period of April. Our business close AP/GL about a week before the end of month so if we receive invoice on 30th April but our AP/GL already closed on 25th Apr then 30th Apr invoice should go to May accounting period. As statutury requirement is to record this into April. How does anyone handle this?
    Thanks.

  • Doesn't play songs, "itunes is not configured for use with mac-formatted"??

Hi, new ipod shuffle. Seems to charge fine, all indicator lights function as expected. Everything looks fine in itunes. But it doesn't play songs. I have the most recent versions of itunes and the ipod software. Re-set, updated, and restored, nothing works. Even restored using the restore utility. Re-started computer. Checked for volume control. Won't play songs. Tried different file types. Songs play fine from itunes library and from the device's library within itunes. Tried different headphones. Hooked it up to computer speakers. Turning volume all the way up on device and speakers, heard some very faint rhythmic static, so my guess is the jack socket (or whatever you call it) is just messed up, but it seems weird that it can transfer power and data to the device but doesn't work for sound...
The only other issues that have come up is that the drive disappears in explorer once it syncs with itunes. Other people who've noticed this seem to have completely different problems so I don't think it's related.
Also, I have MacDrive on my computer. And when it starts up with the ipod plugged in, MacDrive offers the message "Itunes is not configured for use with Mac-formatted ipods." It offers to automatically reconfigure itunes so it can read mac-formatted ipods. Since I've restored the device, I don't see why formatting should be an issue so I say "no."
Should I try letting macdrive do its format thing? Should I try formatting the ipod disk on the My Computer menu? Or should I just email apple and tell them the jack's busted?
    Thanks for any thoughts!

Well, I have had my iPod for about 3 years, it is a 4th generation non-video 40 GB. One day it just stopped working, and now it does not play any songs. when I turn it on it makes this odd whirring sounds that computers make when they try really hard to do something. I cannot charge it, and it is not recognized by iTunes. Also when I turn it on, I get the apple.com/ipod/support (or whatever it is) screen. Needless to say, my warranty is expired, and so I cannot do anything for it except get a new battery, or buy a new one. Is there any way to fix this problem, or anyone out there who is experiencing the same thing?
I'm having the exact same problem with my wife's iPod. However it will play about 3 seconds of a song and go onto the next song.
If there is anyone out there that can help please do!

  • MM Configuration for integration with SAP SNC

    Hi,
I need to make MM configuration required to support PO collaboration and SMI process integrating with SAP SNC.
ANy kind of information would be very much helpdull
    Thanks
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
MM configuration for PO collaboration is depend upon the your requirements. e.g. You want to upload the confirmations send by the supplier from SNC web UI to your R/3 system you have to use confirmation control key while creating PO in R/3 and make corresponding supplier confirmation control either optional or mandatory in SNC configuration. Default provided by SAP is optional.
Remember supplier can create confirmations only if ther either optional or mandatory.

    HI REFER BELOW
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/e5/077ff04acd11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm">European  VAT Processing</a>
As part of the process of establishing the European Single Market, the tax authorities in each EU member state assign VAT registration numbers to companies. All companies that are entitled to deduct input tax can receive a VAT registration number.
A VAT registration number is alphanumeric and consists of up to 15 characters. The first two letters indicate the respective member state, for example DE for Germany or ES for Spain.
The VAT registration number is designed to specify the tax processing involved in certain transactions and to allow the financial authorities to monitor the application of the new regulation.
For this reason, the VAT registration number of the company code and that of the customer must be specified on invoices for tax-exempt deliveries and other goods and services within the European Union. The VAT registration number is thus part of the control procedure that has replaced the former border controls (EC sales list).
You can define VAT registration numbers in the system for every customer, company code, and vendor. The VAT registration numbers in the vendor master record are currently only used in Spain for information purposes.<a href="http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/finance/sap/help/howtoguides/vattables/">Guide To VAT</a>

  • How to generate the ATR files for reports with out manually?

    Hi all,
how to create the ATR files for reports in OBIEE 11g with out manually?
is there any other method to create the ATR files by using the OBIEE Server?
please provide me the solution for this?
we are creating manually for each and every report, it is time taken process how can we generate ATR files automatically
    by using the OBIEE Server?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I am afraid not.ATR are attributes files contains the object's full name, access controllist (ACL), description, and so on.Each catalog object has a corresponding attributes file, I am not sure why do you have to generate the atr files. In case you need info about atr files: http://businessdecisionsystems.com/blog/?p=7
If you have huge number of similar reports(with filter variations and same kind of layout), try to play around with the xml to minimize the development effort.

  • Configuration for po print out

    hi experts,
pls advice me step by step procedure for the configuration to take the po print out.
i saw the first thread but i cant understand . pls help me.
    regards
    arun

    Hi,
    For PO print out follow the below steps;
A1. Define Number Range for Purchase Order
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Purchase Order ->  Define Number range for Purchase Order
A 2. Define Document Types for Purchase Order
SPRO-> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Purchase Order ->  Define Document Types for Purchase Order
Copy from Standard Purchase Order “NB” and rename to “ZNB”
Maintain Number Range In case of Internal Number Assignment & Number Range In case of External Number Assignment.
A.3. Define Screen layout at Document Level of Purchase Order
SPRO-> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Purchase Order ->  Define Screen Layout at Document Level
    Maintain Output of Purchase Order
    1. Condition Table
SPRO &#61664; Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Message ->  Output Control->Condition Tables->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    Select:
    Purchasing Doc. Type,
    Purch. Organization,
    Vendor
    2. Access Sequences
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Message ->  Output Control->Access Sequences->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    3. Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Message ->  Output Control->Message Types->Define Message Type for Purchase Order
    Ex:
    EF---> ZNEU
Select “ZNEU” and double click on “Mail title and texts” and go to
EN- New Purchase Order Print Out,
Select “ZNEU” again and double click on “Processing routines,
Select “ZNEU” again and double click on “Partner Roles
    4. Message Determination Schemas
    4.1. Message Determination Schemas
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Maintain Message Determination Schema
4.2. Assign Schema to Purchase Order
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Assign Schema to Purchase Order
    5. Partner Roles per Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing ->  Message ->  Output Control-> Partner Roles per Message Type ->Define Partner Role for Purchase Order
    6. Condition Record
    Navigation Path: SAP Menu-> Logistics -> Material Management -> Purchasing-> Master data->Messages-> Purchase Order-> MN04-> Create
                          ZNEU  ->   ZNB
Now you create PO(ME21N) and maintain the text and save it. Go to ME22N  and print the PO by giving our output type ZNEU).
Hope the above will solve your problems. If helpful then reward.

Is that because you also ask the same question to Logitech and that was their response, since you're using a 3rd party software

  • Invoice verification for GR  with out po(501)

how to make invoice verification for matl with GR with out PO

    Hi,
501 Movement is meant for GR w/o referencing PO.
There will not be any GR/IR clrng account generated in this GR.
So you can not refer this for Invoice Posting.
Alternatively, in MIRO Transaction, you can have the option of Posting the amount to different G/L account or Material Account. With this you can post the Invoice in the SAP System
    You have to use either of following transactions for Vendor Bill booking;
    FB60 - Invoice OR
    F-43 - Invoice - General
And Use F-53 - Post Payment after Vendor Bill Booking..

  • Changing JDBC Datasource Configuration for Report with Sub reports at once

The Env  details are as follows
    CR Developer
    Version 14.0.2.364 RTM
We are using JDBC Connection Datasource for our CR2011 report which contains 30+ sub reports. Each of the sub report uses a JDBC Datasource to connect to Postgres database and Since the JDBC connection string changes on each environment we need to edit each sub report every time we switch environments.
Is there a easy way to accomplish this on all sub reports at one shot?
I am aware that if we use ODBC connection it would be easy since we can just change the DSN config and it will start working. But we are not using ODBC connection since We are seeing that our report (with too many sub reports) crashes when we use ODBC driver for Postgres.
    Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Can FieldPoint be configured for use with 4 wire temperature sensors?

I would like to build a fieldpoint-based measurement system that is configured to accept 4 wire type low temperature sensors, pressure sensors, and several 4 wire (100ma) magnetic hall sensors.  Each 4 wire temperature and magnetic hall sensor will require a stable current source (20ma -100ma range).   We need to be able to synchronously read up to 8 sensors.  Under certain circumstances we would like update rates up to 50 Hz (0.02 seconds) on all 8 channels.  We currently have FieldPoint products, such as FP-1001 modules (RS-485 Network Interface), FP AI-110 modules (8 channel, 16 bit analog input), FP-RTD-122 modules (8 channel RTD input), FP-RLY-420 modules (SPST Relay), FP-TB-1 (36 screw terminal, Universal Terminal Base), NI-SCC-68 (68 pin Terminal Block with 4SCC expansion slots), PCI-8431 (RS-485 Serial 2 Channel Card), and other FP modules on hand that we would like to use in this experiment design if possible.  I would like more information on the NI FP-RTD-124, (4 wire, 8 ch., 16 bit RTD input module) regarding use with platinum RTDs and low level/low temperature signals, and maximum refresh rates.  Thanks for your help,
    LGF

Hi LGF.  FP-RTD-124 info is here: (c)FP-RTD-124 manual.
The range of the -124 on the low end is -200C; we use it to -196C with 100 ohm Platinum sensors with good results.
The update rate, ~ 1S, however, is not going to meet your requirements. Can your temperatures really change that rapidly?
The excitation is fixed at 2mA x 135 mS with a period of 1S.  Fine for an RTD, don't know about your Hall sensors.
Your AI-110 module can be configured to read the Hall sensors with external excitation but the maximum update rate is 0.173S.
    Hope that helps.
