VDI 3.1 EA 2 Error

Server: s10u7 x86, Java 6 update 16
2 things, actually;
The first is that when I try to add my server as a Desktop Provider, it says that the server is not accessible on port 443 (SSL). Apache2 is definitely running, and i get the 'Welcome' message when I connect to it. Any suggestions would be gladly appreciated; this error prevents me from adding desktop providers, so I can't do anything with the server.
2nd, I logged in to the web interface on my evaluation host, and attempted to add a desktop provider when the server logged me out and showed this message:

Hi,
Do you get logged out with that error every time? Or was it a once off? I don't believe that the exception you posted is related to the issue your having, possible a tomcat error if the VDI service was restarted.
First, can you verify that the VirtualBox web service is running and accepting connections by browsing to here:
https://<vbox_host>/webservice
You should be prompted for a username and password, use the same one you specified when configuring VirtualBox. After entering the username and password you should see output like this if everything is running correctly:
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<SOAP-ENV:Fault>
<faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Client</faultcode>
<faultstring>HTTP GET method not implemented</faultstring>
</SOAP-ENV:Fault>
</SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
Can you try to create your Desktop Provider again and check the following logs on your VDI host for errors, posting them here?
/var/cacao/instances/default/logs/cacao.0
/var/opt/SUNWvda/log/vdaadmin0.log
Do you see an error when you try to add a VirtualBox host to the provider? If so, what's the exact error message?

  • VDI 3.1 EA - Internal Error when assigning a user to a pool

    Hello:
    I'm hoping somebody can help point me in the right place to troubleshoot this. I'm using OpenLDAP and I've changed my LDAP filters so I can search for the users but when I select the user and click on the 'OK' button, it pukes out with an Internal Server Error and a stack trace that some Java exception threw.
    I don't know what the problem is or what direction to even start looking...
    -K

    I figured out what my problem was. I needed to set my group filters for ldap. As soon as I set all of my group filters it stopped crashing on me. It's interesting that it crashed but basically if I had followed the direction it would have worked the first time. I stopped after I set the user filters.
    I would post all of the filters I set but since they are specific to my LDAP setup they wouldn't do anybody else any good.
    But understanding LDAP filters in general and then reading this page completely should keep others out of trouble.

    Thanks anyway!

  • Lync VDI Plugin on 64bit remote computer with 32Bit Office 2010 installed

    Hi,
    We have a customer who had a number of users connecting via RDP to a Server 2008r2 based farm. A lot of the users have Win 7 x64 installed on their home computers along with Office
    2010 32 Bit. When I try to install the Lync 2013 64 Bit VDI plugin I get an error stating the product can't be installed on the computer as it already has Office 2010 Single Image installed. Is this correct
    as the TechNet install guide states only the Bitness of Office 2013 matters??
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2013/09/23/deployment-details-for-lync-vdi-plugin.aspx

    Hi,
    As you have install Office 2010 32 Bit on the computer, you must install the same Bit version of Office software. Make sure all versions of Office are either 32-bit or 64-bit. You can’t have a mix of both.

  • Error: Java Runtime Environment seems to be already installed

    Hi
    I have been trying to install VDI core on Linux(Centos - 5.5 64 Bit) but unable to do so because of the error Common agent container is not installed on this system. I have checked and found that the cacao 2.2 is installed on the server but the service is unable to start during the OS boot up. I have tried all the possible ways to re-install but got no luck.
    So Finally got another box with solaris 10 update 9 running on Intel. Even this one is not letting me continue the installation. I was getting the below error when trying to install the VDI.
    As the below error seeems to be something related to the java, i tried removing the java packages. But still unable to get the installation up and running fine.

    Any quick would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    I hope this thread isn't dead, because I have nearly the identical message to the previous poster and was hoping to find out how you got around the error. Any luck?

  • Connection and reconnection taking a lot of time

    Hi ppl. I am on a POC with 5 machines plus the Active Directory on a Win 2003 server,
    the vdi hosts and the storage server each of them reside on a LDOM (four in total) created
    on one sparc blade on a sun blade 6000, each vdi has 4 gb of memory and the storage server
    has 3 gb (ARC size is 2GB) and one zfs partition of about 60gb.
    The xVM server was created in a LDOM on an x68 blade on the
    same sun blade 6000. Solaris 10 U7 in all of them. VDI and virtualbox installed as per
    installation instructions. All vdi servers has the AD as their ntp and dns server.
    The user directory is working, connected and authenticated to the AD, we are able to search
    for users from the web interface.
    the problem: most of the time the vdi login screen appears after less than 30 secs, but
    after entering a valid (or for testing, invalid) user/password, most of the time the "connecting
    to vdi" screen is displayed for 1 or more minutes, after which it either falls back to the
    vdi login screen or opens a the session or shows the two VMs to pick one. After selecting
    one of the VMs or entering the previous session, everything works fast, inside the win
    session, but then again, when we log out,disconnect or close the session, it takes for
    anoter 2 or more minutes to get the VDI login screen again, it has taken up to 5 to 6 mins
    to get to the vdi screens.
    I dont find any related information on the cacao.0 logs, dmesg or /var/log/syslog log files,
    the vdi web admin interface shows the VM taken by the user used in the vdi login screen,
    also, just got kicked out of the vdi web admin with an error (will be posted on the next
    message, what can we be doing wrong? what should we look at?
    thanks in advance

  • SCEP Service started without any malware protection engine; AV signatures out of date; AS signatures out of date

    Our new pooled VDI collection reports the following errors in SCCM 2012 R2 regarding SCEP:
    Service started without any malware protection engine; AV signatures out of date; AS signatures out of date
    The Windows Update service is disabled and it is by design when we create a new collection, althought the service is enabled on the master template.
    SCEP is not up-to-date, real-time protection is off, and this is causing us compliances issues.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    How do you set the SCEP to get definition updates?
    The following blog might help.

    I have a Citrix XenDesktop VDI Pooled Desktop (nonpersistent) deployment with Microsoft App-V 5.0 full infrastructure.
    I was testing the pre-caching of my App-V 5.0 packages (%ProgramData%\App-v) as the Shared Content Store was not providing the best user experience.
    So I modified the registry setting on my client to turn off SCS, and then done a publishing refresh (using an admin account that had access to all App-V packages), this worked great. The contents of %ProgramData%\App-v changed from small 80Mb to 18
    GB (same as my content store location). I loaded the App-V Client UI and clicked on packages, they all indicated packages are now avaliable offline (so 100% cache) & also running the command
    Get-AppvClientPackage -All indicated that each package was PercentageLoad=100
    Before I shutdown my image and real-seal it for read-only mode, I went add and Unpublish-AppvClientPackage
    (all of them, there is no easy way to do this via powershell..btw)
    So, now when I launch a Virtual Desktop as an end user, the applications are not working... I am receving a ton of error indicating missing files, so I went to the environment viewer and found these throughout the logs. ..
    Content required by an application could not be retrieved from the network. A request for file C:\ProgramData\App-V\4015C3CA-1ED9-4876-8423-915CA4B2BEF0\92FAE2E7-B5FA-4DBF-A4F0-EDE27CF421C8\Root\pwsafe.exe from package version {92fae2e7-b5fa-4dbf-a4f0-ede27cf421c8}
    failed with error The parameter is incorrect..  Check your network connection and try again.
    Now I am not sure why it is trying to retrieve additional files, considering all my packages are now available (fully cached) in %ProgramData%\App-v.  NOTE: If I remove all packages from the image in write mode Remove-AppvClientPackage
    and enable SCS the errors do not appear and all packages work perfect.
    I did not pre-publish any settings when the image was in write mode, so when my user logged on in read-only mode noticed the user environment (VFS) and start-menu creation occurred (as it took 1-2 minutes to complete), which was expected. .. .
    I have google the above error, but could not find anything to help out.. Any ideas how to get precache working in VDI environment?
    Client - App-v 5.0 SP2 Hotfix 4.

    Do you re-publish the application during user logon (and how)?
    When you log on to a session and call get-appvclientpackage -all - do they show the full 100% load?
    BTW pre-caching all packages can be done with get-appvclientpackage -all | mount-appvclientpackage.
    Similar to this get-appvclientpackage -all | unpublish-appvclientpackage should hide them all. When (un) Publishing make sure to hit the right scope. if packageas are 'published globally', the -global switch has to be added:
    get-appvclientpackage -all | unpublish-appvclientpackage -global
    Note that HF4 for SP2 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2956985/en-us) introduced new settings targeting VDI deployments, they are a little bit explained at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn659478.aspx

    Dears,
    I have two windows server 2012 Data Center and I configured (Virtual Desktop Interface)VDI on it's.
    All my clients connected on both of servers by used Remote Desktop sessions ,5 months since.
    Currently,when the clients is connected on the both of servers they received the following error:
    "The remote session was disconnected because there are no remote desktop license servers available to provide license"
    Kindly note, I installed windows Licenses Server Data Center on the both of servers.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    Please let us know if you have purchased RDS CALs and install it in your RD licensing server.
    Also, on RD Session host servers, please make sure that you have specified the license mode and point them to the RD licensing server.

  • Sun Ray error when connecting to Oracle VDI - No Kiosk Sessions Available

    When the Sun Ray DTUs go to connect to the Oracle VDI cluster at times they will throw the error "Error starting Kiosk session: No Kiosk accounts configured." We have tried going through the steps to confirm that the Kiosk sessions are configured on the two secondary hosts but the problem persists. When the Sun Ray DTUs do connect they will work for a while and then when left idle for a period of time will loose their connection and be unable to restart the connection with the error mentioned. The Screen Blanking option on the Sun Ray DTUs is set to "0" to prevent them from going into power-save mode but this makes no difference. The Sun Ray DTUs are all updated with the latest GUI firmware and there are no custom options set in the Sun Ray Session Servers.
    The thing that bothers me the most is I have not seen any error messages in the logs. I will post up the logs as links in a follow-up post.
    Has anyone had any similar issues while connecting with a Sun Ray DTU?
    Currently we are running Oracle VDI 3.2.1 on the cluster.
    Here are the commands we used to reset the Sun Ray Kiosk accounts:
    # /opt/SUNWkio/bin/kioskstatus -c
    # /opt/SUNWkio/bin/kioskuseradm status
    # /opt/SUNWkio/bin/kioskuseradm delete
    # /opt/SUNWkio/bin/kioskuseradm create -l utku -g utkiosk -i auto -u –c

    I was trying to transfer data from oracle to sql server 2008 on a daily basis.
    I have very hard time connecting to oracle from ssis package on windows server 2008. I am almost dead and cannot find any help. i was able to connect to oracle using import/export 64 bit feature of SQL Server 2008 using Oracle provider for OLEDB. But I am not sure why the same does not work with BIDS?
    Here's the environment info:
    1. Oracle Client 10g
    2. SQL Server 2008
    3. Windows Server 2008
    Appreciate your help. Please save me.

    Regards,

    Hey all -
    For what it's worth - I might have a partial answer to this issue.
    I had a feeling I might have futzed with the host identity after building it, and installing virtualbox the first time.
    On a hunch, I did the unthinkable and re-installed Solaris, installed VirtualBox, and was away with everything working.
    If I get a chance, I'll boot back into the old env and see if I can work it out. My suspicion is that it's something like the Apache SSL certs not being re-generated on install (or something like that...)
    Cheers.

  • Sun VDI 3.1.1 error with Sun 7310

    Hello,
    I'm working on a Sun VDI solution using a 7310 with Sun Storage 2010.Q1.0.0 and am having a provisioning error when importing a template or desktop. It errors about copying disk image to storage. Upon switching to a Solaris ZFS storage server the issue goes away. I'm curious if anyone else has run into this issue and if the Sun Storage OS should be update or if there are specific configuration variables that should be set in the ZFS storage pool being used by the Sun VDI implementation.
    Thank you,
    Mike

    Okay, after some issues with the 7310 that is being used for this pilot I was able to do some more testing to generate logs around the failures. I have been able to get this to work with a regular Solaris 10 iSCSI and NFS server that uses ZFS. In fact it worked perfectly but that isn't the storage array that is meant for this project. The Sun VDI implementation is accessing the 7310 using the 'root' account and is connecting over gigE SAN. We can see Sun VDI logging into the storage array, it creates the '/suspend-data' NFS share right away as it should. When I got to import a template you can see it deploy the iSCSI LUN and the associated Target and IQN.
    Here are snippets from the cacao log showing the different failure messages.

    Thomas,
    Thanks for your reply. I have finished the VDI 3.0 Install and everything works fine now. For some reason even though the Storage OS was opensolaris 2008.11 but running on a VM it did not like that and once I dedicated a seperate box, then things worked fine. I just redid the install of the VM to try if it goes through and this time it works well. So my setup as of now has everything running on a ASUS MBD whitebox with Open Solaris running as a VM in Virtual Box and acting as a ZFS Storage (Virtualbox is running inside the GA release. However I would like to run everything in one OS which would be the GA. I tried setting up the iSCSI interface in GA and it did not work. Any ideas on how I can make this work on just one platform ?
