Vendor General : Usage of PO Box & Region Field instead of Alternative Paye

I'm currently working on SAP implemtation for the US.
Because the entities in question are still paying their vendors by cheque payment and due to the fact that they are also using a process similar to lock boxes they wish to use PO_BOX_REG in order to avoid manaing alternative payees. PO Box is in a different State:
Do you have previous experience in using this for the US?

When ever you change a address a address number is generated those information is stored in table ADRC.
When you specify no information in street address and information in Post Box address it is stored in LFA1 because system understands there is no other address mentioned in Street address so it doesn't generates a address change or address number .
When you specify both the address it works as you have mention .

There is a "other region" field under the PO Box Address section in transaction XD03. Can somebody tell me which table it pulls this value from? It is not in KNA1.

I think you refer to the field PO_BOX_REG and it refers to the Region for PO Box (Country, State, Province, ...)
Address data is usually maintained in table ADRC. You access this table via the address number of your customer/vendor/plant/etc...
ADDRNUMBER = KNA1-ADRNR.

Make PO Box City field as required when either of other fields r non-blank

Hi,
I need your help and valuable suggestion to fix this problem.
While Creating/Changing a vendor, I would like to input some data in the PO box address area (Table LFA1). If I populate the fields PO Box & Postal code fields in this area, the PO box City field should become a required one. Currently it is an optional field. I dont want to do it at field status level.
If there are not any data in either of those fields, then PO box city field should be an optional one.
How can we do this? Please provide me a solution in detail.

You can use user exits for this req. Take the help of your ABAPer who can assist you in finding the relevant exit and fix this as per the logic specified by you. Or you can also approach SAP Service marketplace who will provide the required data.

PO Box only populating on purchase order if PO Box Lobby field populated

We have an issue with the PO Box number printing on purchase orders. If we have a PO Box number for a vendor with no street address, the PO Box number is not printed on the purchase order unless an entry is made in the PO Box Lobby field. For vendors with a street address and a PO Box number, we enter the street address in the PO Box Lobby field. The purchase order displays this as "123 Main Street - PO Box 456". If we don't enter anything in the PO Box Lobby field, the PO Box number is not printed and a blank line is inserted in the address where the PO Box number would normally appear on the purchase order. We've been entering a single character in the PO Box Lobby field (such as a period or single quote) in order to get the PO Box number to print but it's not the ideal solution. We get a printout that has a line such as ". - PO Box 456" if we enter a period in the PO Box Lobby field. Any suggestions on how we can get the PO Box number to print if there is no street address would be appreciated.

When I print the order, it looks the same as the print preview. The PO Box number is not printed unless I enter something in the PO Box Lobby field. I've tried many combinations but I haven't found a way to print the PO Box number on the purchase order. There is a check box on the vendor master record where you can specify the PO Box without a number and I've tried checking that box, deleting the PO Box number and entering it in the PO Box Lobby field but it doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

Defaulting the Account screen 'Region' field.

Within the Account screen there is a Region field which currrently has a drop down list box, and a description field next to it. I need to change this so that, using the country code + Other fields the Region value and description is looked up from Z tables (joined) from within R/3. I already have a functional module that I can remotely call which will allow the source values to be parsed to R/3 and will extract the Region value and description and return this. However, where should this code reside, and more to the point, how can I discover myself where I can place this code.
I therefore have a number of questions around this:
o Is calling a remote FM, the best solution, as I know that R3 data can be accessed from CRM.
o I can look at the fields for this assignment block of the Accounts screen (if that's the right terminology) and can see the 'Region' field and next it the 'Name' field. However, one of the other fields, like language, also a field next to it called 'Name', so how can that be right?.
o How can I populate the Region description field (called 'Name').
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that, I knew it was a GET_* method that I would need to use, but I'm not sure how I find where this method is. Ideally I would expect to either be in some transaction, click on the field and go into some coding area which is related to this field.
Given that I have a field (named 'Region') which I wish to insert particular code for and it resides in the accounts screen within the 'Main address and communication data' block, how do I identify the GET_* method and coding area for this field?.
The field is currently has a dropdown list box which I need to remove as it will be populated with a fixed value and marked as Read-only. I assume I'll need to make these changes via the AET.

Note that this code specifically disables only application arrays. Disabled items are not available after submission (and hence are different from readonly) . But any page javascript can modify disabled or readonly items(client side), so you must check at the server side to validate the data.
You can disable items using
disableItems('MY_REGION_ID' ,true);and enable them by passing false
disableItems('MY_REGION_ID' ,false);

Unable to check usage on iPad (Settings General Usage)

Hello,
My iPad mini won't allow me to check how much space I have left but I was notified (forgot how) that there was not much space left.
I originally thought that it kept crashing because my iPad wasn't updated to the latest version so I downloaded it and it still didn't solve the problem.
Every time I go to settings > General > usage I instantly crash and go back to the home screen. I don't really know what other information to give :\ .
I'm thinking maybe a hard reset would fix the problem but I'm not really sure how to back up everything that's already on my iPad since it's greater than the storage given for iCloud. (Not really sure how to back up in general)
So, if maybe a hard reset it the way to go -- could someone maybe lead me in the direction of how to hard reset and get all my apps back easily? (Instead of writing everything down and searching them up and downloading later?)

Unfortunately, this method didn't work. My photos and videos take up practically no space as I only have around 15 photos and no videos but I will move them onto the computer.
Any other suggestions for the usage problem?

Region Field Mandatory in TRIP in Travel Management

Dear Gurus,
I have able to make region field mandatory in PR05 . In our client site all permutation and combination has been done according to region field. But I am unable to bring Region field in TRIP or TP04 and also I want that field to be mandatory . Could you please guide how to bring Region field in TRIP or TP04 and how can I make that mandatory too.
Please suggest.

Unfortunately this is a limitation of the backend functionality because the REGION field was a new functionality starting ERP2005 in Web Dynpro, and this field is only available in FITVFELD_WEB. The field was integrated with the "Country" field in Web Portal. The customising point for Travel Request was also added in Portal which as you see is not available in FITVFELD.
And when you create expenses for the request, the REGION field can be input manually, the value is maintained in Table T702O.
So as a standard solution so it is not possible without making a modification
I mentioned modifying the table PTRV_T706Z_FLDS but actually just reading it again I dont think this will work for TRIP in this manner.

Requirement is to bring in Region Field in COPA..
The Region field is available in Customer Master data.. so the relevant tables involved are:
KNA1 - Customer, Address key
ADRC - Address key, Region
Check table: T005U
Now, how do we create a COPA characteristic Region and what should be the derivation rules..

KEDR (Derivation)->Table lookup on table KNA1.
Source
KNA1-KUNNR = CO-PA-KUDNR (system proposes)
Target
KNA1-REGIO = CO-PA-WWREG (your region Characteristic in CO-PA).
When Region field available n populated in KNA1, you don't need ADRC table.

I used to be able to take around 2hrs of video as I like to record down whatever happening in front of my car when I'm driving. I delete the videos everyday ifn nothing special. It seems that lately when I deleted the videos, they're not removed from the phone's memmory.
I check form setting/general/usage : all my apps add up to less than 2G. In itune, it shows all memmary is under the catagory "other". Is there any way I can access this "other" memmory to see what's in it and delete the things I don't want to regain the loss memmory?

You could always try restoring, although maybe someone else on here has a better idea.
Hopefully by posting this, it will bump up and someone with more iPhone troubleshooting experience might chime in.
As for the videos - interesting! Do you have the iPhone on one of those window holders, or do you hold it in your hand since that might ironically distract you, unless you've gotten very good at it!

Settings General Usage -- Crash

hi folks,
when i upgraded my iphone 4 to ios5 i noticed that opening settings > general > usage makes the settings app crash after a few seconds of loading. after switching to an iphone 4s and "restoring" the iphone 4 data into the new device, the bug was gone.
now i made the mistake and opened that usage tab while i was installing software (yes, *** hoc ergo propter hoc, but i don't have any better guess what could have caused it) and the settings app crashed and kept crashing ever since. i tried to deinstall the software i was loading at the time of the first 4s-crash. i tried restarting the iphone. nothing works so far.
this really annoys me because i'm using that tab a lot to check for data usage. is there anything known on that issue?

But how do you make it work?
I had the same problem with a self-ripped audio book (from CD).
I got one audio book to work, if I add a second one it still crashes,
but maybe this is a start:
Here is what I did to make it work:
Step 1. Convert all the AAC files to "Spoken Content"
Step 2. Renamed all the ".m4a" files to ".m4b"
(Finder or in Terminal you use: for FILE in *.m4a;do mv "${FILE}" "${FILE%.m4a}.m4b";done)
Step 3. Ensure that in iTunes, the Audio Book shows up in the "Book/Audio Books" section, and under "File/Get Info (Apple-I)", "Options", "Media Type" is set to "Audio Book".
Now it works with one audio book on my iPhone.
If I add a second with the same method, it still crashes. Any ideas?

Settings general usage doesn't see space taken up by videos app.

settings-space-usage is not displaying space occupied by videos app.
consequently videos apps keeps eating up space. the only recourse is to backup the ipad and restore it.

Is it possible you are not seeing the entire list? In Settings > General > Usage at the bottom of the list of apps do you see a blue "Show all Apps" link?

Duplicate content of region fields in the region and keep some fields

duplicate content of region fields in the region and keep some fields displayed in this region and some not.
Our customer wants to duplicate the content of the region fields and 3 fields of this region (one of them is the key from the table ) have to be shown empty and have to be recreated when he does the next commit. The other 25 fields have to be filled with the content before. (I have to do a commit before I show the region again without these three fields)
What I did:
When I have a botton with request CHANGE then APEX does the change without emptying the fields. I tried to make processes on this request which should empty my three fields, but the processes never fire (I see it in the debug and I don't know why, I putted them on every process point for testing)
The second try:
On my button with request CHANGE , I filled the 'set these items ' with my three fields and the 'with these items' with 2 commas ,, to set these items null.
I do no claer cache, but APEX empties the hole region.
Can you help me??

1 - Page 15
On the EMPNO column, I have a link to page 18. I set P18_EMPNO to #EMPNO#. I assume that you already have this functionality to link from the report page to the form page. There are no changes required to this page.
2 - Page 18
I have created a hidden field called "P18_EMPNO_COPY". There are no special settings for this item - I've just put it at the bottom of the region containing all of the other items
I have created a button called "P18_COPY". This has a Conditional Display set with a Condition Type of Value of Item in Expression 1 IS NOT NULL and Expression 1 of P18_EMPNO. This has an Option URL Redirect set for it with the following settings:
Target is a - Page
Page - 18
Set These Items - P18_EMPNO,P18_EMPNO_COPY
With These Values - ,&P18_EMPNO.
I have created a Process to run "On Load - After Header". The PL/SQL code for this is:

This has a Conditional Processing Condition Type of "Value of Item in Expression 1 is NOT NULL" and Expression 1 shows P18_EMPNO_COPY
Finally, for each field, I have added in a Default Value that points to itself (For example, the P18_JOB field has a Default Value of :P18_JOB) with a Default Value Type of PL/SQL Expression.
Obviously you will need to replace the field and item names with those for your table and form.
This process does the following:
1 - The user clicks the link in the report on page 15. P18_EMPNO gets populated with the EMPNO value of the item select.
2 - Page 18 is loaded with the data relating to the record with the ID found in P18_EMPNO
3 - The Copy button is displayed only if P18_EMPNO contains a value
4 - The user clicks the Copy button
5 - The P18_EMPNO value is copied into P18_EMPNO_COPY and P18_EMPNO is blanked out
6 - The page is submitted with these changes. When it reloads, the new process kicks in
7 - This process will:
(A) Create a variable based on the record structure for the EMP table
(B) Fill this variable with the data in the table for the ID that's now in P18_EMPNO_COPY
(C) Set the session state values for the fields that need to be repopulated with the data now retrieved into the variable
(D) Clear the P18_EMPNO session state value
8 - When the page starts to load the form, it will see that there is no P18_EMPNO value and, therefore, will not bring in any information from the table. However, as we have now set the Default Value settings for each field, this will force it to retrieve the values we've stored using the new process and display these values in the form.
I think I've detailed everything - if this doesn't work, please let me know!

You're not alone. I just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 5.0.1, and when I go to Settings>General>Usage, the spinning "busy" indicator is visible in the "Storage" window for a few seconds, then it crashes and goes back to the home screen. Must be a bug. I hope Apple adds this to the fix list for iOS 5.0.2. QA seems to be slipping at Apple.
