Vendor Management / Tracking the Product or Material

Hi Friends:
Is it possible to follow up on Vendor Management. the case study is as under :
In an organization, the customer has a problem with the product, & the organization offers Customer Service ( which may be mapped in CS Module), in-house repair & on site repair.
There is a case wherein the engineer from the service provider side ( organization) is not able to solve the problem & due to technical or lack of spare part or any other reason, the product / or its part is sent back to VENDOR either fo the Replacement or REPAIR of the product, and the customer does not know where is the product or its part is neither the service engineer s know, And when customer makes a call to enquire about his product, no one in the company has the answer asto where the product is either with the service provider or at the VENDOR site.
So, in order to track the product immediately... where can the same be tracked & which Module of ERP (R/3)? CS Module, MM Module or any other Module ?

Hi,
As per your scenario, try these following steps:
1. Create the Service Notification
2. Create the Service Order based on notification
3. Based on analysis, either operation can be done internally (PM01 Control Key) or externally (PM02 Control Key)
4. PR would be generated for the External Operation
5. Components may be issued based on that order for the External Operation
So based on that document flow in notification, you can track the status of the service notification. Even you can define the tasks to be done for the service in the notification, so that, you can track that notification very well.

    I want to display a characteristic value entered in the material batch classification of the production order material in COOIS report.
    Ex: I maintain material stock code in material batch classification. Within the same material there can be multiple stock codes which is similar to dye lot number. I created production order for that material. I want to display that batch classification characteristic of the material in a separate column when display production orders of that martial in COOIS.

    Have you use the process batch? The classification characteristics of each process batch created for a production order are compared with the actual configuration characteristics.
    If different characteristics are used for the classification, that is, if characteristics do not exist in the configuration, these characteristics are flagged as green by default in the detailed display.
    Call interface:
    An interface (parameter of the function module) can be used to call function module MILL_PC1_COMP_LIST outside C003, C011N from COOIS.
    Or Call Transaction SE38 report PPIOA000  execute it.
    You can refer the OSS note 519649 for it.

  • Track the Serial number of the product for an outbond delivery

    Hi Experts, 
    we want to track the serial number of the product (material No) for an outbond delivery, we have looked at tables LIKP,LIPS,EQUI,VBFA,VBEP & VTFA to get any link between serial number/delivery number/ material number.
    But we are unable to get the appropriate information of linking the serial number and delivery number.
    we are require to give the details of serial number for a specific delivery to a third party warehouse
    management system supplier.     
    please suggest which tables links has to be provided.

  • How to track the material in WIP stage

    Hi all,
    our product flows in differt stages from raw material to finished product. For example first it goes to Melting,than to foundry,than forging and lastly it goes to machine shop from where we get the finished product.
    my requirement is I want a way  to track the material in this WIP stage. where this material is datewise or if now i want to know at which stage (melting , foundry , forging, machine shop ) the material is, how can I find ?
    Is there any std report for this?

    Unfortunately no such report was available in SAP.
    But SAP has introduced EHP4 to address the requirement.

    You will have to activate the 'Work in Process Batches (WIP Batch)' functionality in EHP4.
    Or else go for some develop report for the WIP.

            For one of our clients, the handling of PRT is to be controlled with the issue/receipt for the production order.
    1. What is the procedure for issue/receipt of PRT material in the SAP?
    2. What is the procedure to block the PRT for the creation/release of production order when it was already assigned to the other production order during the same time?
    3. The PRT is to be available automatically once the assigned production order operation is confiremd.How it can be handled in the SAP?

            Thanks for your response.
         1. The dies can be used for the production of Pressing, Casting and Forging etc. These dies will be managed in the stores. The stores representatives will issue the die to the shop floor for an operation of a production order.They will return back the die once the production is completed at that operation using the die. How to map this process in the SAP.
            Typically, these dies can be treated as PRT materials in the SAP system.
         2. OPJK configuration is not sufficient. The same PRT will be assigned to the many production orders during the same time.The system won't block with only this setting. There are some other steps involved to complete the process.
                     I would like to know the complete procedure with all the steps to block the PRT once it was assigned to the production order operation. The same PRT is to be available for other production orders automatically once the operation is confirmed after production.

    You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination
    The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements.
    This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations
    The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.

  • Product hierarchy  is not being maintained in the sales order material

    Hi,
    I have an issue where the product hier is not being maintained in the sales order for some of the materials although the material master has the prod hier maintained.. The main program is SAPMV45A and I have checked all the exits in MV45AFZZ. In none of these exits the PRODH field in XVBAP is being populated. I would like top know if anyone has faced a problem like this.

    Thanks for your suggestion. The poduct hierarchy is maintained in the material master but not being picked up at the time of creating the sales order. I have found the solution and coding has to be done in the MV45AFZZ.

  • Material forgot to tick the batch management but the GR and IR is done

    Hello,
    Material A should be in batch managed but the settings in the material master is forgot to ticked. PO is created as well as GR and IR is already completed. The invoice is posted and according to finance it is paid already and cannot cancel the invoice anymore. When trying to tick the batch management in the material master, an error is "Stocks already exist at plant level". Checking also MMBE, stocks showing in the Open Order quantity since the GR is cancelled.
    Is there anyway I can tick the batch managed in the material master?

    to set the indicator is less restrictiv than removing it. so just make the inventory in current and previous period zero.
    you can see how much inventory you have in thosee 2 periods in MM03  valuation view or plant stock view.

    I have no idea what that message means; try uninstalling using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html then download and reinstall the latest Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Batch Traceability for Sugar as raw material during the production process

    I need your support for a traceability issue in a customer on beverage sector
    See the case below:
    Batch Traceability for Sugar as raw material during the production process
    In AMSB the batch traceability in some production processes is very difficult, especially in case of sugar where tanks wherein more than one batches of the same material can be mixed. For example, in a single day almost 17-20 batches of the same material can be mixed and as the result is a composition of water and sugar the normal FIFO rule strategy cannot be applied during the component consumption.
    The raw material (sugar) is received in tank S5 at different points of time, and its content is transferred to tank B1 for storage purposes as well as for mix the sugar with other material such as water.
    At a specific moment the S5 tank contains only a single batch, while the tank B1 contains more than one batch. Tank B1 is used in order to supply the production line and the corresponding material consumption is triggered in backflush as soon as the production activity is declared (production confirmation). Along with the material consumption the batch determination takes place and a complex algorithm is applied: at a very high level, the single batch is consumed depending on its percentage inside the mix of composition and in case the this
    percentage is under a threshold level the current batch should be full used in order to avoid that it will exist for ever.
    Moreover, the good movement reversal (reversal of material consumption) and its correction lead to a complete new calculation of all the batches consumed after the original movement date/time. This means that the algorithm for batch determination should be reapplied for all the consumptions subsequent to the original movement.
    On the other hand it’s not possible to identify the mix of batches at the exit point of silos B1 because the total consumption of the material in the tank will never happen. As long as the tank level decreases it will be filled up from the tank used for receiving of sugar (S5).
    As requirement AMSB needs to post the material consumption starting from EWM, this means that EWM should be the master system in this case and the correspondingmovements have to be  transferred to ECC afterwards. This mainly because EWM  should guarantee the business continuity in case the ERP system is not available.
    AMSB asked if the scenario depicted has been implemented in some customer, in EWM system or in any other SAP solution.

    At the time of consumption you can put ' * ' aestrix sign in the batch field.
    You will get list of batches of that material.select ur batch and consume the quantity.

    Matl Povided to Vendor stock will appear in Subcontracting scenario.
    If at all you have given some material to a subcontractor , this will be consumed automaticaly when you will recieve the ordered material from subcontractor.that is 543 movement will take place in the backgroung when u do the GR.
    In case if u need to clear the stock u can do 542 and take the stock back to unrestricted.

  • Vendor name is deleted after the approver changes the product category.

    We have implemented workflow WS14000044(Completion by Purchaser) and
    WS14500015(Item-Based Main WF).
    At workflow WS14500015 level, when the approver changes the product
    category, the vendor name is deleted.The previous validation allows the
    PO creation , But the PO is created without vendor.
    Furthermore under transaction process purchase orders 'BBP_POC' the
    purchaser can not access in change mode to the vendor field in order to
    add a vendor.
    How can we give access in change mode to the vendor field for purchaser in transaction 'BBP_POC' ?

  • Production Order - Modify field Material Provision Indicator for component in the production order

    Good afternoon,
    I have a component in the bill of material, that has the option Material Provision Indicator activated.
    When i create the production order, the component automaticaly is activated with the  Material Provision Indicator option.
    However, in the production order, this field isn't possible to modify, because is closed.
    Anybody knows way the modify this field? Configure to open?

    I am also getting the same error while Releasing Production Order and Costing (CO11N). This error is related to EHP7 in our case.
    Please try one of the following solution and see whether the error is gone or not.
    1. Implement the SAP Note 1317551 - Error AD_SUBCON 141 / 143 / 144 (T417)
    OR
    2. Complete the customizing of Material Provision Indicator (T Code OICO) as per the attachment.
