VERIZON FIOS ON DEMAND - Trying to rent a movie and we get repeating trailers
For the first time since having verizon fios for ten years, I sat down with my family to rent a movie. I pull it up in the on demand window area and push play and get THE TRAILER. I have patiently waited for the trailer to end AND ALL IT DOES IS GO BACK TO THE DISPLAY SCREEN WITH THE MOVIE INFORMATION TILE. I have tried every button on the remote and the same crap happens over and over. DO THEY NOT WANT US TO RENT MOVIES ANYMORE???? I am so frustrated with this **bleep** that I am ready to jump ship to TWC. So many problems have begin popping up as they make unneccessary changes to the menu. NOW i have no idea what to push to get the **bleep** screen to let me PAY FIOS to watch a movie. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

We are trying to rent a movie and it keeps prompting us to verify payment info and we have done this
we are trying to rent a movie and it keeps prompting us to verify payment info and we have done this
I kept having this problem, reset my iTunes password, verified account information several times, all with the same (bad) result. Finally, I actually went into the "Edit" section of my credit card and found that because I tried to access my account via another computer or device, i.e. Apple TV, I had to reenter my 3 digit credit card security code. That fixed the problem for me.

trying to rent a movie and error message pops up saying "item cannot be downloaded on this network. You must connect to wi-fi or download it on your computer". I just finished downloading a rental but I get this message when attempting another. Any help much appreciated
You might want to try it again. It started working for me about 10 minutes ago (~8pm CST).
This was happening for rentals and purchases. -

*** Trying to rent a movie and NONE WILL WORK...
I'm ripping my hair out here. I have tried this with both an HDMI and component cable with no luck. When I try to rent any movie on my AppleTV I get a message that says the "item is currently being modified, please choose another item". It doesn't matter what item I try to choose I get the same message. Talk about killing a Friday night. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I do a factory restore and try again?
Thanks in advance.sounds like an iTunes store issue that might just settle down, though that's not an immediate solution
assume you've tried unplugging the device and rebooting -
I have paid for this movie but am unable to watch it because no matter what I do it won't load. I've checked my wireless connection and it seems to be working fine, and netflix works on the Apple Tv but I can't seem to get this movie to play (and not it is not and HD movie), help!
I was given these steps to follow when I had a similar problem:
1) Quit iTunes. 2) Follow the instructions for the appropriate operating system in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1597 3) After removing the SC Info folder, reopen iTunes. 4) Choose Check for Available Downloads from the Store menu. 5) If prompted, enter your account name and password, then click the Check button. 6) After the movie finishes downloading, choose Authorize Computer from the Store menu. 7) Enter your account name and password, then click the Authorize button. -

I rented a movie on Itunes last night and I watched half of it before falling asleep. Today I tried to open the movie and watch the last half but I cannot find it. It has been less than 24 hours since I rented it. Where can I find the movie?
I found my answer in another Thread and it worked... so for anyone who needs it, here it is:

Had the same problem and spoke with Apple Support. They had me reset the System Management Controller:
Shut down the computer. With the computer off, on the left hand side of the keyboard press shift+control+option along with the power button simultaneously and release. Wait 5-10 seconds and restart the computer.
This solved my problem and I was immediately able to purchase, download, and play an HD movie from iTunes w/o any error message. -
trying to rent a movie on apple tv for the first time and have to authorize my computer but can't find the itunes menu that allows me to do this. any thoughts out there?
If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I have tried to rent a movie in iTunes twice in the last few hours. First I was browsing then tried to rent and was told my session had timed out. I closed iTunes and went directly to rent the specific movie and still the same response, session timed out. I completely logged out of iTunes, tried again 5 hours later, still the same timed out response. I have successfully rented, downloaded movies and watched them previously. Any similiar issues for anyone lately? Any ideas why this is happening?
