Very Frustrated with ADE

My wife and I are new users of ebook readers - hers a Sony PRS 300 and mine an iPad. In anticipation of being able to use these to read our library books and purchased books we each downloaded ADE to our desktops (PCs) and were asked to authorize and register them which we dutifully did. Unfortunately we each authorized under our own names/email accounts and now find we are unable to share our books across our readers, as we legitimately should be, because ADE refuses to accept more than one user and we have been unable to de-register either account so we can share a single ID. The Adobe help line basically told me that until I buy a new PC I will forever be stuck with this problem - very unsatisfactory since there was no warning of this when we tried to be good citizens and registered! Is this the final answer or is there a solution besides buying a new PC? Any help would be appreciated.

While I can understand the necessity of rest
ricting abuse of copyrights and the possibility for abuse in ebook formats I am angry that our rights as legitimate paying customers are being restricted in a very high-handed fashion by companies selling the books and companies like Adobe who have provided no warning and no solution for clamping restrictions on us!
I have to wonder if there are legal ramifications of such abuse of our rights and of essentially locking a piece of software such as ADE onto our PCs without proper warnings and recourse.

    I'm very frustrated with the battery exchange program. I signed up online, double checked all my information, and submitted. No where on the page did it say that a signature would be required upon delivery. I work during the day, so I'm not home to receive shipments (any package I do receive is just left in the lobby, and it's always been fine--I live in a secure building).
    DHL is refusing to leave the package at the door. Apple refuses to tell DHL that it's ok to redirect the package to my place of employment. My only option, it seems, is to spend almost two hours of my time driving to the DHL location and back (the pickup location isn't even in the same county I live in).
    If anyone has any better ideas, I would love to hear it.

    If your battery was stolen after it was delivered, I'd bet you'd really get upset. If DHL is anything like UPS, you can sign the receipt telling them to leave the package. Pretty simple.

    I tried the suggested procedures. Took out cartridges, replaced them in proper order. Shut off machine. Unplugged machine for more than 10 minutes.
    After plugging in machine & turning on, the same error message appeared. It is constant and the machine will not perform in any way including for scanning.
    The suggested procedure did not eliminate the error. Your message suggested I go through the "contact us" screen but I've done that twice already.
    Not willing to play that dumb game again.

  • Muse will not Launch, very frustrated with no actual customer support.

    When the icon is double click the splash/home screen opens, covers half my screen and stops, It will stay their until it provides an error then closes, this time it closed without the error.
    In task manager one time it said it was running but most often it is not in task manager so not running.   I have been advised to download cc cleaner, did and ran every location in my PC. I have been told to clear everything, I did.  reloaded Muse and the same problem exists.  I have been dealing with this for over a week and very disappointed with Adobe.  It is not possible to contact them directly regarding muse however I have a website that I designed on trust that is not useful and I have taken too many hours away from  business, let alone the months building a site.  
    Just received an error that says to report the my last actions to creative team, that would be fine if I could find the creative team.

    Hi, Thanks for trying, I am not sure how to install the update when the
    muse splash screen opens then freezes.  If you want I can completely clean
    my comp for the fifth time and reset  and try again but all the advise I
    have received so far is similar to what  I just received.  A basic fix but
    I am not sure if the how it is ever considered.  IE, How to update when
    program wont open.  I wish someone would take the time to really consider
    my situation.   It really has been more expensive to use Muse then pay a
    designer and now you have me.
    Please, as a company that \I trusted and have used for years. Please help
    me fix this problem.

  • Very Frustrated with iMessage

    My iMessages from my iPhone 4 keep showing up on my new iPad (4? The newest one with retina display).
    The only address  I have checked for "Send and Receive" on my phone, is my phone number. And the only one checked on my iPad, is my Apple ID email. Therefore, if I send an iMessage from my phone (using my phone number), it shouldn't show up on my iPad, correct? But it does.
    I've disabled the facetime to my phone number and email address, to my iPad and iPhone respectively, but it still syncs.
    I've even gone so far as to delete my iCloud account on my iPad, to prevent it from wirelessly syncing through the cloud, but it still shows up.
    I don't want everyone in my home who uses the tablet to be able to see private text conversations.
    It seems with Apple, that you either sync everything, or nothing. There doesn't seem to be an in between, and I'm getting very frustrated.
    Does anyone have any other suggestions? I've looked through other discussions and tried everything I've found, which is the things I listed above, but nothing is working.
    To confuse even more, it's not doing this with every text message recipient. An iMessage to one person shows up on the iPad, but an iMessage to another person doesn't. The only difference being that any person I've ever sent a message to from the iPad, everything I send that person from my phone shows up. But if I've never messaged that person from my iPad, it won't show.
    I don't understand what's happening, or what I can do to fix it.

  • Getting very frustrated with my Gnex...

    Ok so I am running out of ideas to make this phone work for me... Currently on my 3rd gnex since i first bought it in May 2012 and this on is by far the worse. Just a quick run down of my first two 1.) worked great absolutely enjoyed all the features as it was my first 4g phone got impatient waiting for 1st jelly bean update and bricked it while trying to root rookie mistake lol... 2.) was just as happy with it as the first. Everything working great till about a month ago when the mic started to act up and no one could hear me unless i was using a headset or blue tooth. Got the update for 4.2.2 the day I was taking it to best buy geek squad to send out and that even seemed to be working great loved the camera features and was even starting to like the lock screen widgets. Had no problems with the battery drain and even seemed to be running better than ever. But since my wife was the most frustrated with not being able to hear me when we'd talk on the phone i sent it out for a replacement (happy wife = happy life). Which now brings me to today not even 24 hours after picking up my replacement gnex i am starting to regret my decision to ever buy one in the first place. This one came with 4.2.2 ready to go on it and seemed to get off to a good start with it until i tried to open the internet, Google would start to load then poof back to home screen, open internet back up load some more then kicked out (wifi or 4g/3g mind you). then it was like it was taunting me saying "oh good patients you got me to load google dare you to search.... HAHAHAHAHA nice try" poof home screen. Ok. Well internet a bust lets try the google search bar.... Oh wow i like the new features here let's try a search.... well back to hompage i go.... At this point I'm ready to give up and try later so I press the lock button and screen goes black then flashes at me for about 3mins... When I go to the main menu it is black as if i have no apps at all till i swipe and then everything appears.  Oh and it is beginning to get real hot like I've seen posted here a couple of times and now I have started missing the htc thunberbolt loaner phone that best buy gave me for the 3 days with out my nexus...
    Things I have tried:
    -Factory reset (3 times)
    -Taking Battery out and letting it sit for awhile (up to 15mins)
    -Avoiding the urge to just throw it against the wall (hardest one of all)
    Things I'd like to avoid in finding a solution:
    -Rooting ( tried and failed at that already in the past)
    -Waiting for ANOTHER replacement phone
    -Throwing it against the wall (still seems like that would make me the happiest right now)
    So all in all i just needed to vent a bit and am now curios as to what options I do have now. I didn't go with the verizon insurance on the phone because i went through Best Buy when i bought it originally and pay 9.99 a month for their Geek Squad protection plan but i don't want to have to send it back out since i just got it back today. Can I take it in to a verizon store and replace it right away? If so how much should that cost (in AZ)? Has anyone else been down this road with their gnex as well and have any info to share?

    Is the replacement phone working flawlessly so far as of this posting cowboyjake? I couldn't help it to laugh at your posting things you have tried. I know how you feel the upgrade it messed up my phone it reboots during a phone call, screen goes blank and have to uninstall / reinstall the battery to get the phone to boot up and work. Price goes up Quality and Service goes down is the motto of all businesses now days.

    What is your current connection, use speedtest.net
    Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network, check signal strength and noise
    On Apple TV go to settings - general - network - congifure DNS. Should be set to automatic.

  • Very frustrated with poor customer service and lack of integrity

    Earlier today my wife and I bought a TV from your Huntsville, AL store (removed per forum guidelines). We were looking at your 32" TVs and had several questions about them. After flagging down a sales associate, we questioned the pricing of several TVs. They were advertised under the display as one price, then where the inventory was at, were labeled a different price. The sales person confirmed that the smaller price was the correct price and the displays were incorrectly labeled. We proceeded to pick out a 32" Vizio E320I-B1/E3 TV that was labeled $219.99 where it was stocked (There were two rows of this TV all labeled $219.99) and the display was labeled $259.99. Again, I flagged down the sales associate (Taylor) on the floor and questioned the display pricing vs the shelf pricing. He AGAIN confirmed that the shelf pricing was the correct pricing and the display pricing was for a different model. We proceeded to check out, purchased a 2 year protection plan along with an HDMI cord and were on our way, new TV in tow. On the way home we reviewed the receipt and noticed we had been charged incorrectly for the TV. It rang up as 259.99 even though it was clearly labeled 219.99 and we had verified TWICE with an associate that 219.99 was the correct price. We went back to the store, thinking we would be refunded the difference. After spending over 30 minutes with customer service explaining what happened, customer service informed us that they could not refund the difference even after we showed them where the TVs were at and priced as 219.99 AND verified with the sales associate that he had confirmed that price with us TWICE. We then returned the TV for a full refund, to which my money is still tied up in the transaction until sometime next week (all for a TV that was FRAUDULENTLY sold to me!!). Not only was it mislabeled, but your sales associate told me TWO times that the labeling was correct. I am disappointed with the lack of customer service that we received. It is beyond frustrating to me that your company is unable to honor a $40 error in pricing that your very own sales associate confirmed. I believe that the store was 100% at fault for this situation and am more than displeased with the original situation and the events that followed. I consider it a disgusting lack of integrity to fraudulently sell a customer an item and refuse to right the situation when able. There is no doubt in my mind that the store manager (Cedric) or division manager could have authorized the TV to be sold at the price listed (and confirmed by the sales associate twice!) but they simply chose not to.  Prior to today I had a positive view of Best Buy and considered it my store of choice for many items. My wife even did seasonal work for this store several years prior. Unfortunately, I will no longer choose to give my money to a cooperation that does not value integrity, honesty, and accountability. I understand that you are a large corporation and my few purchases probably won't even put a dent in your profit margin, but I would just like to remind you that I represent your entire customer base. If this is the type of customer service that your company prides itself on, then I am sure this is only one of many incidents. I find that extremely unfortunate. I will now be purchasing the same TV from another company for $259.99 (where it was actually labeled correctly, and the sales associate is able to accurately confirm the pricing). My future business will not be with you after today.

    Purchasing a new TV should be fun, exciting, and straightforward, and not be complicated by unclear signage and conflicting information. I very much regret that this was your experience at the Huntsville store.
    I completely understand your conclusion that -- after the attempts to verify pricing that you made -- you should have had no questions and no surprises about the cost of the TV after purchase. Did Cedric give you any explanation as to why the TV you bought rang up at a different price or for his not honoring the display pricing?
    It is wholly disheartening to hear that this experience may influence how you shop in the future. It is my hope that you will one day give Best Buy another chance to win you over.

  • Am very frustrated with Photoshop Elements 8.0 & Premier Elements 8.0

    Made my first slide show several years ago on older version of Elements.  Worked real easy and in no time at all, had a nice slide show.  Even set to music.  By the next time I went to make a show, had upgraded to 8.0.  I put the slides together, and as soon as I attempted to add music, I began to have issues.  The slide show playing, but not the music, starting to play appropriately, and then losing the music, and if I attempt to pause, the program feezes, and have to do ctrl, alt delete.  I also then purchased Priemere elements 8.0.  Main reason was to be able to output to DVD instead of VCD( not everyone I wanted to share with could play my VCD's). After much frustration, got the show together, and sent to Priemere.  The show did not play normally in Priemere either.  Although the music  played.  The encoding process took extremely long, 6-8 hours for  a 9 minute show.  The next show I did, when I sent to Priemere, some slides were turned on there sides, couldn't find how to fix without going back into Photoshop slide show creator and resizing those pics.  Many hours with much frustration again a very long time to get it to DVD.  Today I give it one more shot. Dsigned a 7 minute show in slide show creator, Added one song.  Music never played, but slides moved along OK.  if I tried to pause or stop, Photoshop would freeze.  Even tried turning off screen saver.  So, sent to Priemere.  Music played fine, but slides do not progress appropriately.   If I stop and pause, it will readjust to the time of the music and can begin again, but 2 or so slides, and freezes again despite music playing on.  Am using a computer with AMD 64  Athalon dual core processor 3800+ 2.01 GHz, 2.00GB of RAM, using Windows xp.  Have check processer usage in the past, always seems to have plenty more room.  I otherwise don't know much computer language as far as the operating of the system.  However, I am ready to ditch both programs for something which doesn't have issues everytime I try to use it.

    I’m not seeing these issues although I’m using PSE9/PRE9 but I always add the audio in PRE and then use yhe sound mixer. I’m wondering whether your system has sufficient RAM as 2gb is quite low by today’s standards and video rendering is quite CPU intensive.
    I think there are a lot more output options with PRE9 including the h.264 codec for HD video playback on YouTube and iPhone. It might be worth considering if you ever intend to upgrade your system although you can of course try out the free trial.
     

  • Very frustrated with Mail, please help

    Hi All,
    First of all, I want to tell you that I just moved from a PC to Mac, but I am very computer savvy so I had no problems moving my emails, addresses and all that to Mail, as well as performing any other tasks on the Mac. However, I have one VERY weird problem. Please bare with me as I explain....
    I have 3 (three) email accounts setup in Mail. The two of them work fine. The third one has problems receiving emails, it does NOT receive emails at all.
    When I try to setup this account, I get an error that the mail server is not accessible. I thought that the mail server was offline but I still tried to access the mail server through the web access. I COULD access it. Then I tried to receive mail in Mac Mail and I got NO error messages, but I did NOT receive any of my test email messages that I sent myself on that email. I was trying to figure out what the problem was, but with no success. Then I thought I will try accessing the emails through Entourage. I was shocked when Entourage DID recieve the emails from that mail server and that email account. Well, by now I was VERY confused and frustrated. Entourage CAN access the email account, but Mail can NOT access it!??! I am using exaclty the same settings for both and still the result is the same.
    I didn't know what else to do, so I called the Apple tech support. They were also confused with the issue. They escalated the issues to the engineers and they told me that the server is an Exchange server and that I should access it as such not on POP. Well , no luck again.
    So, to sum it up, I can receive email from this mail account from EVERYWHERE except from Mac Mail. I can also access it from Entourage on this same computer, from the web, from a PC laptop I have, but not from Mac Mail.
    PLEASE HELP!!! I don't know what to do any more. I hate to use Entourage because I just moved from a PC to a MAC and I don't want to be using the same Microsoft crap (which unfortunatelly is working properly). Any advice and suggestions are more then welcome.
    BTW, I did try all of things that I read in different posts on this forum on similar issues (deleting the "mail" folder in library, etc), but none worked. I also tried uninstalling Mail and installing it again, again no luck.

    I have no direct experience with Exchange servers, so take this with a grain of salt, but my understanding is that for Mail to be able to communicate with one, it must be configured to allow IMAP access at the server. See the Mail help topic "Setting up your email accounts," which says in part:
    "An Exchange account allows you to connect to your Exchange server via IMAP, and if you enter text in the Outlook Web Access Server field, Mail filters non-email related content from the server. (You can get the text you need to enter from your mail account provider.) For Exchange to work with Mail, Exchange administrators need to configure the Exchange server for IMAP access. Some system administrators may refer to an Outlook Web Access Server as an Internet Information Services (IIS) server."
    IOW, if you can't convince the administrators that not everyone in the world uses proprietary Microsoft application "standards" (which of course exist for the good of the world & not just for MS), there isn't much you can do except use the crappy apps that Microsoft owns, along with the standards they enforce ... for the good of the world, of course. :-/

  • Help - lots of problems - very frustrated with PRE7

    I've been working on a project for some time with much difficulty and once I solve one problem another comes up and different problems occur each time I work with the video. Here's where I'm at - any and all help would be EXTREMELY helpful.
    - Virtual Memory - I get message often that it's low. I incresed my page file to 3048. I have all of the files on my external hard disc (200GB with 50GB free) and the actual PRE file on my computer (100GB with 24Gb free). The video is 30minutes long (when i try to burn to DVD it's 1.84GB, to .flv 70MB and to Mpeg 1318MB). The video is made up of still images, video, and music. I've already resized all images to 1000x750 and made sure all video is DV-AVI.
    - Errors - I get all sorts of error messages. Some times the porject won't load and it's says PRE has to close. When I'm able to get the program to open I've successfully rendered it and saved it. But when I try to burn to DVD I've gotten transcode error at 5% or I get a message saying "The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occurred in the application at location 0x78138aa0. Click on OK to terminate the program." Or it just freezes and does nothing.
    - when trying to make it a .flv or .mpeg I get a message saying failed to return a video frame - cancelling operation.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?? One idea is I have Premiere CS3 and I thuoght of putting the movie in there but then the whole thing appears as a sequence that I can't edit. Is there a way of editing it once converting it to Premiere or do I have to rebuild the whole thing? I'm so frustrated at this point and feel that I get different messages each time and after trying to troubleshoot this on my own for the past week I just can't figure it out.

    This error/error type is very often caused by a memory error, and most often with either the Page File, or by some program not reporting memory usage properly to the OS. That is why full disclosure on your Virtual Memory setup is critical. Also, what programs are also running, and what Processes are loaded? Task Manager>Processes will tell you. You likely have some loaded Process that is acting up. Also, when you get a crash, immediately open Event Viewer. Look in System and Application tabs. Open ALL yellow warning messages, and ALL red error messages. Follow all links provided. Some might give you a clue as to what is happening and why. Some will just be obscure code and of no use. Do not get frustrated if most are just code. Look for the ones with real info and also links - follow those links and read.

    - when trying to make it a .flv or .mpeg I get a message saying failed to return a video frame - cancelling operation.
    This is a common error when one has any gap in the Video Timeline. Zoom in to the frame-level in horizontal scale. set through the Clips, looking for any gap. If you get this message, note the % of Export/Transcoding. PE has a two-pass encoder, so you may have to do the math to really get you close to the spot, i.e. 50% of the operation is pass 1 of 100% of the Timeline. If you get it with say 98%, then you do know that it's happening near the end of your project, so the math aspect is diminished a bit. Sometimes gaps will Encode fine, other times a 1-frame gap will bring a Project to its knees.

  • Unable to access CC assets and VERY frustrated with support

    I just spent a fruitless hour trying to discover why I am unable to access my assets on the Creative Cloud. CC acts as if my membership isn't current, in that I see a folder of mine, but when I click on it, it disappears. After an hour with support I was unceremoniously disconnected and don't have the fortitude right now to start over again. Is there any chance of speaking with a U.S. based support person who speaks intelligible English?

    With respect to the problem I wrote about: The following morning
    everything was working normally again. During the several days that I
    was having the problem, I did try accessing CC via two different
    computers and on 2 different browsers, all with the same result. My
    impression was that CC was treating me as though I was someone whose
    subscription had lapsed. I could see that the folder I had created for
    image files was there on my screen, but when I clicked to open it the
    folder would disappear. So I'm guessing that CC had incorrectly changed
    my status as a subscriber and then somehow this got corrected. In
    reviewing the forum issues, I haven't seen anyone complain of exactly
    the same problem.
    I would also like to say a word about Adobe support. As a loyal
    purchaser and user of multiple Adobe products for the past 15 years, and
    also as an Adobe shareholder, I find the current trend in support to be
    very disappointing. I have had minimal need for support over the years
    but had always had good service until recently. After subscribing to CC
    I had occasion to seek help from Business Catalyst support which was
    just as frustrating and unhelpful as my attempt to obtain CC support on
    8/3. The forum seems to be able to solve some problems but it can't
    always happen in a timely manner. I fear that the current status of
    Adobe support, if my two recent experiences  are typical, will serve to
    drive customers away from Adobe.

    Lots of Frustration.  In some cases the LGG2 is rendered useless even as a phone.
    Here is what I did.
    Got replacement Phone.
    Same problems but I shut down all apps that I purchased even though they worked before KitKat.
    Found that If I have both WiFi and LTE Data on at the same time battery chewing stops. Do Not know why.
    Then I got 2 CM free utilities.  The Clean and Wash utilities. Run them and find the culprits grinding CPU
    cycles and running down the battery.  Number One is the Verizon Voice Mail service constantly turning on and off
    and retrieving data not there.  Turn of the extra Voice mail and use the old access with the *6.  Unless you have
    100 messages a day for business your hosed until this KitKat issue is fixed. Get the CM battery utility.
    YOU can see the battery suckers and shut them down when not using automatically.
    Start putting back one application at a time you used often and see it they work and if the utilities will tune them
    down if they cause problems.  The LG will get better but with some limitations.
    LG and Verizon have a problem with what was a great phone.turned bad overnight.
