Video filter now showing up at right time point

I am attempting to use the gaussian blur to block out the ID cards of two individuals in my clip.
I used V2 to create a filter mask for one individual and then used V3 to create a filter mask for the second individual. The ID card for the individual in V2 appears from the start of the clip till the very end. On the other hand, the ID card for the individual in V3 appears midway into the clip until the end.
When I click on the clips with the filters in place, the black bars indicating where the filter "mask" and filter "gaussian blur" beginning and end points are in the correct position on the timeline.
However, rather than the blur appearing on the first individual at the beginning of the clip, it appears on both individuals midway through the clip.
How can I make the blur appear on the first individual from the start of the clip and have the blur appear on the second individual only midway through the clip.

Thanks for doing that. I clicked on the annotations, nothing happened, was I supposed to see additional stuff or are they just markers? I just see text balloons now.

OK, click on V3 and type Control - B to temporally hide the clip. Does the effect work for masking the first ID, all through the clip?

Video scopes now showing

When I was using Leopard 10.5 and FCS 2 I was unable to render certain effects in FCP, because it said it could not render the size and depth.. also I did not see the vector scopes in Color. I read that it was because I have two graphics cards. Each monitor is hooked to one. I've upgraded to the new FCS and Snow Leopard and now I don't have those problems. I'm seeing the vector scopes and the glow effects render fine.
Is this because of the upgrades, or should I still get one card for both monitors?
P.S. I have 2 LED cinema displays and haven't found a card that can support both.

Album display shows same album many times

Just installed iTunes 8 and switched to Album display. Display now shows same album many times. Each time is for a different song. Occurs on compilation CD that has many artists, showing one for each artist. Example: Top Gun Soundtrack
How do you consolidate to only show album once?
How do you get the album cover for one of these compilation cd's? comes back and says Artwork can't be found

The Videos are showed up front 4 months, but now they are no longer to be seen. When you star a video first the hard drive starts, but then it stops and hangs up. I have to restart it, starting with the apple logo....

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

After my last download I now have video adds that show up in the broswer from time to time. How can I get rid of them.

on my last down load of firefox, I not have two issues that occur, One every once and awhile I get a video ad that shows up in the lower left corn of the browser. I have uninstalled your software and reinstalled and it is still there. Also I get a web site of inksr.com that my trend micro blocks everytime I go to a new web site within firefox. Both of these have started after I was told to redownload your software in order to get the updates to work and not be blocked.

You probably have malware or adware installed on your computer.

You need to use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all pick up the same things.

like most of the programs quit's unexpectedly. some programs does not work on it. like adobe cs5 is not working. everytime time when i do click on adobe cs 5 icon it shows a message "To open “Adobe Photoshop CS5,” you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open “Adobe Photoshop CS5” again" while i always remain connected on the net.
2. when ever i insert an avi or mpeg video disk it shows the file format not recognized. to **** with this macbook pro n its 10.7.5 lion. the same disk works/runs on windows on windows systems.

it sounds like a fualty installation of Lion, this may happen from time to time.
The best thing to do in this situation is to reinstall Lion. You will not loose anything doing this, but you should always keep back ups of your information.

basically hold Cmd+R on boot..
first go to disk utility, verify and repair your disks and permissions. Exit out of Disk utility and then go directly to "reinstall Lion"
choose that and let it reinstall.
Adobe CS6 does need Java to run.
To play your movies you might need to get an application called VLC. VLC is a free app and will play most videos and music files you throw into it.

I accidentally ran iPhoto Library Upgrader on my Picture folder and now I have to right click on it to "show contents" instead of looking at it in Finder. Help!

I have iPhoto 9.5.1, I am on OS X Version 10.9.5 on a MacBook Pro with 2.66 GHz
My current "iPhoto Library" file is OK (I can open it with iPhoto), however I cannot access the old one from iPhoto 6 titled Library.iPhoto
I tried right clicking and choosing the application, it did not work.
"exactly how did you "I got to my files and backed them up"" - I showed the contents of my Pictures folder, and it opened up the folders in Finder and I copied them to an external hard drive. In my Picture folder I have several folders of Photos plus the iPhoto Library files (old & current)
I do have old back ups, but they are from April, and I recently imported 5 months of photos from my iPhone, so the iPhoto Library I copied after showing contents is the one I need.

If you can hide the status bar, it would be an option inside the app. I have one or two apps where that is an option but in most apps it is not.

Video Filter missing: AE.keylight 906?

I am a complete noob when it comes to editing video in Adobe. I've been looking for a solution to my problem in other places, but my attempts were futile.
Here's what I did:
I edited a video clip in Adobe After Effects, dealt with the green screen using Keylight, then exported my work as an Adobe Premiere Pro Project. Once that was done, I tried opening the project in Premiere and a window popped up saying "Video Filter missing: AE.keylight 906." I clicked OK and found that Premiere does not show my edited green screen. It merely shows the original - I think I'm right in saying that is because the video filter is missing, as the message stated. How do I fix this? Help please!

My guess for the choppiness would be that you used the default uncompressed render settings from After Effects; this likely made a very large file that, unless you have a really stout and fast hard drive setup (e.g. RAID), you will not get real time playback. Uncompressed is good in that, well, it's uncompressed and therefore doesn't add any further image degradation, but it can make for a lousy editing experience, as you've found.
Depending on what your source footage is (you didn't mention this originally), and what your intended destination/delivery format is, you might be able to use different render/export settings from After Effects for a more playable file in Premiere. Later, you could rerender the composition to the uncompressed version and replace the original; this will give you better performance for further editing in Premiere, and then later will give you higher quality output. This is often referred to as proxy editing, and there are a couple of ways you can go about this, if it's something you want to attempt.
Regarding the loss of edits when moving from Premiere: there shouldn't be any loss of edit points, necessarily, but what you might be thinking of is the loss of transitions. Since Premiere Pro works with tracks and After Effects works with layers, the two programs have different methods of representing and creating transitions (e.g. dissolves). In Premiere, you can put two clips next to each other in the sequence on a single track, and add a dissolve between them; however, in After Effects, a layer can only contain one footage item, so to create a transition between two layers, they must overlap. There are analogs for certain transitions--a dissolve, for example, is just a change in opacity of one layer that is over another--but other more "fancy" transitions must be recreated more manually. In short, you shouldn't have to worry about the timing of your edit in Premiere changing when moving to After Effects, whether you use Dynamic Link or whether you simply copy and paste from Premiere into AE.

I have read your post on how your video will not show picture, but the audio will work on your Windows 8.1 computer. Does the video appear and then disappear using media player software? Does this occur when streaming videos on YouTube? Did you perform Windows or HP updates before this issue occured? Does the entire screen go blank, turn a different color or just show blank on the video window you are attempting to view? Video Filter does not work.

Hello.
I have been using Final Cut Pro 4 for a while and it worked fine before. But recently, any function of Video Filter does not work. I apply them to the clip, but the image does not show any changes on Canvas.
Is the software's problem?

For a reason unknown to me, FCP's preference files (there's 3 of them) will sometimes become corrupted and need to be trashed. Usually the symptoms are things just not working as they did earlier, or weird issues like the 3 Way Color Corrector looks different than before ... stuff like that.
FCP Rescue is a freeware app (yes, you'll need to download it) that will create a backup set of preferences, thereby retaining all of your settings. Then when (not IF, but when) FCP's preferences become corrupted, you can run FCP Rescue to replace the bad set with a fresh new set.
Otherwise you can delete the files yourself (make sure FCP isn't open at the time) and the next time you launch FCP, it will revert back to the factory settings.
