Viewing sub reports with Crystal Viewer XI

I am getting an error message when I try to open up a Crystal Report that has sub reports included.
"This report contains invalid subreport linking parameters."
Any ideas on how I can save report with sub-reports so that they can be read with Crystal Reports Viewer XI offline?

Are you getting the error message in Crystal Report Designer or Crystal Report Viewer?
Would suggest you to follow the below steps in Crystal Report Designer:
-Create a fresh report,in which insert linked sub report based off your database.
-Create a fresh report,in which insert linked sub report based off Xtreme Sample Database.
With this we can narrow down the issue ,whether this error occurs with this particular report or all report?

We have been able to successfully deploy a report through Crystal viewer XI /Java /Sun Solaris, report works fine, able to suppress group tree, but unable to veiw 2nd page of report. The suppression of the group tree in the web page required a simple command , is there one that allows us to proceed to the next page? I am not JAVA savvy so I will be communicating this to the person who will be making the correction, please pardon me if I left something out.

It's not clear whether your issue is with the Page Navigation controls not working, or whether you wish to programmatically skip the first page and go to the next page. If the latter, then the CrystalReportViewer class has a showNthPage method.

Need Help with Crystal viewer and ActiveX

I have a problem that i cant seem to be able to solve. I had alot of help from the forum but i think i got everything mixtup now...
From my addon i can print with CrystalReport Viewer or i cant print a Crystal report directly to my default printer, so thats good and working well. The problem is with Crystal Viewer that drags on the SBO screen and stays on the task bar.
It is strongly recommended to use an Activex to display my Crystal Viewer report. I tried so many differrent ways allways ending up with class id errors, or private class errors.
My report is called c:\report.rpt
My Working CrystalViewer form is called 'frmCRV'
Can some one help me thru this last step... I tried with the Activex sample in SDK but i think i dont have to use the Tree function ??? am i right ??
I'm running on SBO 2005 SP1 PL3
Crystal Report .net V10 and .net for code.

How to schedule Crystal reports with crystal server

Hi,
We are using just crystalreportsxir2 installed on the desktop, no business objects and we r not using any server
My question is how to schedule reports with out server and I donu2019t want to use windows scheduler. Is there any way to schedule reports like this?
If it is not possible scheduling reports in above mentioned way
We want to buy a crystal xir2 server, in such case is it possible to schedule reports with the server we donu2019t have any portal and we dou2019t want to use any third party tools

Did you find any option Scheduling for the report with in crystal designer.
We need Crystal Enterprise or Server to schedule the reports at regular intervals.
We can schedule the report for our required destination, we can view the reports with default viewers with in the Enterprise.
There is no need of using any third party tools.

How can I have Main report with a sub-report with in a sub-report??

I have a main report that has about 5 subreports, almost like a dashboard. I need to make one of those subreports contain another subreport.
I don't have the option to add a sub-report with in my sub-report, so what I thought would work is remove my sub-report from my main report, then add my new sub-report, then add that report back to my main report.
Everytime I add the sub-report that has a sub-report to my main report I lose the second sub.
From what I've read on the internet is you can't have a sub-report contain another sub-report. What some say is you can hyperlink that second sub report.
When I setup my hyper link to open the second sub-report I'm prompted to re-enter my report parameters.
Can some help me link a sub-report to a sub-report or show me how to pass a date range parameter in my hyper link so the reports just opens up?

Nate,
You are dealing with a product limitation. Crystal cannot have nested subreports within a sub report.
You can generally use shared variables between sub reports to achieve your desired result

Deadlock with thread issues while generating reports with Crystal Report XI

We are facing deadlock with thread issues while generating report with Crystal Report XI
Version Number is 11.0 and the database used is Oracle
In the log file on line number 74350 by 2008/12/16 13:35:54 there is a dead lock with Thread: u20184u2019 is waiting to acquire lock for 'com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@15214b9' which is held by the Thread: '0'.
And a dead lock with Thread: u20180u2019 is waiting to acquire lock for 'com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@15214b9' which is held by the Thread: '4'.
Exactly after 10 minutes we can see the thread 4 and 0 are declared as STUCK by 2008/12/16 13:45:54 .
Is this an existing issue with Crystal Report?
Is there some solution for this problem?

You have two threads, both entering ReportClientDocument.open(...) method.
Thread 4 is waiting to acquire 'com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@15214b9'
Thread 0 is waiting to acquire ''com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@12e0415'
So I'm thinking ??? are they the same objects?
My specific question concerning the ReportClientDocument is that both are calling open - i.e., trying to open a new report. You wouldn't be trying to open different reports using the same ReportClientDocument - so was wondering if you've cached the RCD and trying to open two different reports at the same time on the same instance via different threads.
You'd normally tie a ReportClientDocument instance to a HTTP Session, to ensure each user gets their own copy.

Crystal Report Viewer - Sub Reports

Hi Everyone,
I'm working with Crystal Reports(V13.0.7) Windows form viewer in VS2012(VB.Net). I have a sub report which is causing problems. I have set the link to the Main report parameter and Sub report. I have a total of 43 parameters getting passed(Main and Sub Reports including). While setting the ReportSource in code, I find that there are 43 parameter fields passed. But i constantly get an error "The parameter is incorrect". An important thing to note is that- Whenever i debug the code, the report gets displayed but it is not so when in release mode. Can anyone help me in this regard. I'm totally frustrated and its been weeks and i haven't solved the issue yet. I have attached the files below (FrmViewer - Used to add and set report source for Main and sub reports) and (Display-AR-REPORT( ) - for passing main report and sub report parameters). Firstly, thanks for replying to my post. I have checked all the parameters passed, did some changes(Had extra 0's after decimal point), but still no change. The same old Error. Inconsistency and problems printing with Crystal Viewer

I'm printing from the Crystal Viewer based on the Crystal Reports Runtime 11.5 (R2) distribution.   the viewer is being instantiated from a .NET web application.   the report has been developed in Visual Studio 2005.
when I print from my development computer (with VS designer plug-in) the output to the printer is as expected.   however, when printing from any of my production client machines (no designer installed) the output is offset and any text at the top of the report is cropped such that only the lower half of the text is printed.    in either case the output is rendered correctly in the viewer prior to sending it to the printer.
the printer is being served from a central network server, hence the driver is the same regardless of the client machine.   I'm thinking there must be a difference in the CR components in either environment.
note I've also tried printing a test using other applications and no problem exists, only when printing from the CR viewer.
any info would be much appreciated.

May be that the worker process is not seeing the printer driver the report wants to use, so another printer driver is substituted. One way to test this is to insert these lines of code;

Is the printer driver you are trying to use visible to the process?
Another thing to try is to set the option "No Printer" (File | Page Setup).

TROUBLE VIEWING DYNAMIC .JPG WITH CRYSTAL WEBSITE VIEWER

With Crystal XI using Website Viewer our report dynamic .jpg is not visible, only showing a red x. It is working fine when previewed in Crystal or if printed as a .pdf from Crystal viewer but not directly Crystal Website Viewer. The graphic location in the Format Formula Editor is linked to a SQL table. Any help with this would be excellent. Thanks, Jayne

You are mixing two technologies: The crviewer tag must have the parameters set in the tag itself. If you want to use the CrystalReportViewer object to set parameters and view the report, you will need to use the processHTTPRequest method instead.

View BIP report with parameter in Dashboard, but the parameter not appear

OBIEE 10.3.4.1 on Redhat 5.2.
I have a BIP report with 3 parameters which work fine in BIP. Now I embedded it in BI Dashboard, but not see the parameter menu when view in Dashboard. Is this the feature, or I missed something.

On the BI publisher Report Properties window, for Display Mode, select 'Link'. Then you should see the Report Object appear as a link, save and on the dashboard page when you click that link, the BI publisher report will show with the parameters..

For this , i am making use of Interop Form Wrapper class in vb6.

I am directly now using crystal report viewer control in my vb6 project.
As mentioned in previous mail, i have created a Interop Wrapper class over crystal report viewer control in .Net using visual studio 2008 and i am making use of wrapper class in my vb6 project.
I am able to access all the properties that have been defined in my Interop wrapper Class but the only stuff i need is to view multiple reports generated one after the another for a single button click Event.
Please find below the code that iam using to load and generate reports.
Note:
1. frm is the instance of my Interop Wrapper Class built over CR viewer control
2. All the user defined methods of Wrapper class that you see below will internally call the actual crystalreportviewer   properties defined in my Wrapper class
Say for e.g   frm.DisplayToolbar(True) will internally execute crystalreportViewer1.DisplayToolbar = True

Creating Crystal Reports with Crystal Report Server XI

Hello,
I am new to Crystal Reports, i installed Crystal Reports Server XI R2 on Windows 2003 server with SP2 and was able to launch Inforview application and also Central Management Console Log On.
I can also see some sample reports which are installed during installation.
Now my next task is to create Crystal Reports using Crystal Report Server XI R2. How can we create a crystal report now by only using Crystal Report Server XI R2?
Do we have to install some other application to create Crystal Reports? I donot see any link on my server which i can use to create crystal reports. The only links which i can see are :

Two ways to create reports:
1) You install the Crystal reports Designer (CRW32.exe).
With your Crystal Report Server, you should also have received a second CD that would have the CR designer.
2) You use the RAS SDK and create reports on the fly using the RAS report creation APIs - .NET or Java. Since you are in the .NET developer forum, I assume you might be interested in the .NET RAS SDK. Here is a list of resources i would recommend:

Sub reports in crystal reports

Hi All,
I have a report where I am using a on demand sub report as in this thread calling a report
Now my user is viewing this report from a java application.
So whenever he run the report he will view this output in PDF format.
The data will come like below in PDF. But here location name is on demand sub report
Location name Item total tender total
So now in pdf if he click particular location it should show the corresponding report.
I don't know whether we will call a report by clicking a field name in PDF
Please suggest how to do this.
