[Visio 2013] Data graphics linked to SQL view, drops link when view recreated

Hi,
I have a SQL database view that pulls information from a SQL table and gives a status update. This runs each night and it is basically a progress indicator of to where in a step a sequential data load is up
to. So the view looks like this:

These tasks do not always finish in sequence and we have a Visio diagram with a shape linked to each step as a green/red status flag. So I drew the diagram on Friday and it was all working fine. Today I've
dialled in and checked it and found the following:
The view seems to truncate as there were only two rows in it instead of five but it breaks the links in Visio then. Anyone have any suggestions how to maintain links for this?

What was the unique id using which data was linked to the shapes? Was it actually unique?
After data refresh if Visio sees more than 1 rows for a same unique identifier or it doesn't find the row for some identifier then in both the cases shapes will get unlinked and the "Refresh Conflicts" pane is shown to the user to resolve the conflicts.
Did you notice this pane? Having unique ids for all the rows should solve this problem.

Visio 2013 Crashes (...has stopped working..) when opening a file or creating new file

Just installed Visio 2013. When I try to create a new document or open an existing document, Visio crashes (Visio has stopped working......). It happens in safe mode too. Further, I've looked at add ins and there are none that I can "uncheck".

File Links in PDF getting messed up when viewed in browser

When we put a file link in a PDF (\\servername\sharename\directory\file.doc) and display that PDF in a browser, when we click on that link, it becomes http://webname/servername/sharename/directory/file.doc which does not work at all.
I have tried the current versions of Reader 8 and 9, as well as an old copy of 6.1 in browsers ID6/7/8 and Firefox 3.5.
Our web unit insists that it didn't used to do this.
If I change the Reader option to not open inside the web browser, then clicking on the file link works fine. It's just when Reader opens up in the browser that we have this problem.
Anyone else run into this? Our folks really like Reader inside of the browser.

This is a post for Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader as it is a functionality issue with Acrobat. It is peculiar, I am having the same problem when I save the file to a local Windows Home Server.
I have a link called file://whsservername/foldername and it becomes file://whsservername/foldernamewherepdfislocated////whsservername/foldername which is totally convoluted. I am trying to research a solution for this but if anyone else knows what settings to change in Acrobat that would be a great help to post.

My web page centers in the design view, but not when viewed on line.

I am new to web design and of course, to this forum. I had some background in VBA and Fortran, so when the original designer left, I was the only one in the organization willing to tackle the website and try to teach myself how to make it work and keep it current. We were financially in the red at the time, so hiring outside help would have been almost impossible. We are finally breaking even now, which was our goal as a non-profit.
So I inherited the computer and the responsibility for maintaining the website at a non-profit organization for kids in Florida a couple of years ago, and I am doing pretty well with it so far, even though my depth of knowledge is very shallow. AsI said before, I am entirely self taught, mostly by the trial and error method, so please excuse what is probably a very basic question.

The site is working pretty well for my users, but from an appearance standpoint, the pages always are on the left side of the screen. I would like to center the page(s) in the screen so that it looks a little better. They are on a black background - not sure how the background got there, but it is working fine for me. When I tried to center the pages, I googled my way to the statement text-align: center, and after placing it a couple of different places in the code, it suddenly seemed to work, at least in the in Dreamweaver 8 (I also inherited the software, which is I know is old, but so am I - will be 70 soon, and do my work for free for the organization). But when I went to a couple of different browsers, it still displayed the website on the left. I tried Firefox and IE. I am at a loss as to what to do.
When I found this forum, I thought maybe somebody could help me know what to do to make this centering of the page happen in a simple way for this old geezer. I would sure appreciate it.

None of the pages in the active website have this code yet - I have a trial page that I am testing. The trial page can be accessed from the link at the bottom of the 'links' page for 'Show Host Infoormation' (the mis-spelling is temporary and intentianal so I can find the darn test link myself when I want to).
I would be glad to provide any information that might help someone understand what I have and what I am trying to do, but again, I am self-taught so I have little understanding of the technical terms. I would sure appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

First obviously make a back-up of the pages/s.
Go into code view in Dreamweaver and find the below html. Its near the top of the page after the css. You don't need to first table <table> </table> so you can delete that. It's the second table that we are interest in. See below I have added id="pageWrapper" to the opening <table tag.

You'll have to do this for each page of the site you want centered, which could be a pain if you have many pages.
Also your background image is linked to your local computer thats why you are not seeing it but have a black background instead:

"mosaic" view the default when viewing my mobile me gallery online ?

Close Browser Window with view button element when view embedded into fpm

Hi,
is it possible to build a button into a component view which is embedded into a fpm to close the browser window?
tried to build a exit plug within the view/window of my component. But nothing happened. the window stays open
Maybe is it an option to fire the fpm close plug of the fpm from my component view embedded into the fpm?

Using the close button of the fpm is not an option because the window should automaticaly close when clicking on a button embedded into my component view.

Quicklook (column view) crashing finder when viewing photos

My Finder is freezing when I am viewing photos in the column view. It works fine in list, cover flow, and thumbnail. Any ideas as to why the column view quicklook might be causing it to freeze?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the easy fix first: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.

How do you add the Adobe Add-In into Visio 2013?

I have used Adobe with Visio and created PDFs from older versions of Visio 2010 that have the layers in the PDF. I am unable to do this with Visio 2013. Can Adobe Acrobat XI Pro support layers for Visio 2013? how do you add the Adobe Add-In into Visio 2013?

My version of Visio 2013 is 64bit, that because my PC and most of the software is 64bit. When I try to install the add-in for Visio it had error message of not being compatible. I try your "Compatible web browers and PDFMaker applicatios" and notice that Visio 2013 64bit in not listed.
When I try Adobe Acrobat support they told me they don't support Visio 2013 64bit. They didn't say if or when they were going to support Visio 2013 64bit. They suggested I use the Acrobat community forum on "Acrobat Feature Requests" and request the add-in for Visio 2013 64bit. I am not happy with this.
Do you know of any third party PDF that supports layers for Visio 2013 64bit?

Visio Drawing Using Data Graphics with data that has a field that contains Multiple Values.

I am working on creating a drawing for SMTP connectors. I decided I would use a Data Graphic connecting to a spreadsheet. In the spreadsheet there are a few fields that are Multi-Value fields. For instance SmartHosts contains multiple Ip
address. I am trying to get this to format things so that the IPs show on the next line down instead of continuing on the same line until it wraps.
Does anyone know a way I could do this?

Hi Jeff,
Arrange the IP values in spreadsheet using Alt+Enter (Use this key pair as a separator between two IP values). Now link this spread sheet to Visio. The values should appear in the same manner in data graphics as your expectation.

Visio 2013 Org Chart Pictures using Exchange as a Data Source

When I run the org chart wizard it creates the org charts however no pictures show up. How do I make the pictures show up when Exchange is the data source? We use Exchange 2010, Lync 2010, Outlook 2010 & 2013 and pictures show up in all those apps and
are loaded in AD.
WHat needs to be checked or configured to have the org-chart in Visio 2013 show those pictures?

How to get mouse over shape to display data in Visio 2013?

Hi Visio pros,
I am required to create a diagram of our servers rack setup and will be publishing to a Web page using Visio 2013.
The goal is to mouse over the server shape and have the data be displayed. I have followed arguably every solution on the internet. I am either doing it wrong, or it might be outdated information.
I'm hoping Paul Herber, or other Visio pros would be able to help me with this situation as I am on a tight schedule and have exhausted my resources.
Things I have tried:
user.visEquivTitle in ShapeSheet

I am open to the possibility that I may have done something wrong as I am very new to Visio.

Browser that I am using is Internet Explorer since I ran into problems with Google Chrome.
However, after more reading I noticed the User.visEquivTitle provides a tooltip. If it is what I think it is, which is a small yellow box displaying a string, my employer would not want that.
We're looking for something that will provide an aesthetic display of data after mouse over onto the shape.

Visio 2013 Breaks Internet Explorer Viewing

I believe this is a problem with Visio 2013 Pro because if I start with a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and install Office 2013 Pro Plus with the Visio Viewer then I can open Visio drawings in Internet Explorer, but as soon as I install Visio 2013 (with or
without the Visio Viewer included in that installer) being able to open Visio files in IE no longer works. Instead of opening the file I get a popup window with three options
If I click Open then Visio itself will open with the document loaded. The save options will just open the save dialog and allow me to save the file. I find viewing Visio documents in IE much nicer because I can pan around them much easier which is
why this is bothering me so much. Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any suggestions for what I might try?

SharePoint 2013 SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer (Web Part) - IE Tab Title

We are using a wiki Library to create page with SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer Web Part.
Everything is working great except for the Internet Explorer tab, instead of giving me the name of the Report it is showing the name of the web application. All the other wiki pages is working fine.

Is there any difference between the problemaitc page containing the webpart and other working wiki pages for showing the title name in IE tab?
The IE tab should show the information in tag<title> of the page, please check if it is correct for that page (using F12).
Also check if it is related to IE browser compatibility issue.

Layers, Data Graphic and Visibility

I am creating detailed rack diagrams for my organization. We (read they) prefer to have the Rack itself on a layer and toggle between front and rear views. My problem is I am have linked the front and rear server shapes to the same Excel data, so when i
enable Data Graphics botht he front and rear Data Graphics overlay themselves.
Unfortunately all the Data Graphics by default appear on the same "Data Graphics" layer. My question is, can I somehow assign the Data Graphics for the front and rear views to different layers that i can toggle on and off? If
that is not possible would anyone have a suggestion how enable a toggle visibility function?
As another thought is it possible to "link" two shapes together so that only one Data Graphic is shown for the pair?

unfortunately datagraphics is a single layer and cannot be split. DataGraphics gets it's data from the shape data (custom properties) of the shapesheet, so it is possible to link multiple records to different shapes and end up with a 'common' set of data
descriptors. The caveat is 'data bloat' where the amount to information your linking/embedding can change the size of document.
